Rice Bowl in Chico

The Bryan roll with Tobiko added. Excellent quality fish, flavors on point. This is a deep fried roll and I did find the fry later to be a bit thick throwing of the balance. I was able to eat about half and the men with me were full after one roll. Worth the price. Service was a bit slow but they did have a large party with lots of sushi orders ahead of us so that could be why.

Some of the staff are very rude, especially the younger kids they have working the front desk and on delivery on the weekends. They almost always get the order wrong. Unless you order during the weekday when the owners are there...good luck! They dont even care if they get the order wrong, theyre still rude, unapologetic and unprofessional.This picture is of an order from a few weeks ago. The cook tossed the fried egg rolls right into the bag straight out of the oil and didnt bother draining them first. They were juicy with frying oil, so completely saturated they gushed oil when we bit into them. The oil was literally pooling and dripping out of the bag all over the other food and to top it off, they forgot all the sauces as well! No apologies or even a light-hearted oops! or a proactive lets fix that for you. There was no acknowledgement of their mistake, and were clearly annoyed because we called and let them know they forgot several items and also seemed oblivious to the inconvienience they caused by making us drive all the way across town to pickup the rest of our order.There must not be much competition for jobs out here because theyve got the bottom of the barrel working there during the busiest shifts. This behavior wouldnt fly in a larger city where there is actual competition for emploment as well as in restaurant choices.

This place is honestly good. The food is great. Service is great. Menu has two side different food styles. One for Japanese and the other Chinese. This place is perfect for large parties. I would definitely come back here again. I had the Cali roll sushi and it was delicious and the salmon rolls was just perfect. Good price for the meals. The roasted duck was a real treat to eat.

Reservation for party of 16 including 4 young kids. Server was patient and fantastic. We ordered around 12 dishes. Still enough to take some food home.Food was great, everything came out hot and fresh.

It seems they are preparing for an update or remodel (lets hope). Many areas of the restaurant are in the middle of the demo and or are in disrepair.Could be the weather and a lazy Sunday but our help was distracted elsewhere.The food was simply amazing which is why eat here often.

Absolutely delicious! Was visiting Chico to see some family and this place popped up. Very glad we went; the sushi rolls were bomb and the crab rangoons are AMAZING. (No pics as they didn’t stay on the plate long enough!) The fortune cookies are also very good! You can buy a bag of 12 for $1 at the front counter and I got two. The service was also great, no complaints there. Overall a very good sushi stop! Will definitely be visiting again when I find myself back on the West Coast.

I always love the food here and the service is wonderful. I enjoy the atmosphere other than in the evening/ night because its a bit dark. Thats just a personal preference, but an amazing place to enjoy a wide variety of dishes. They have the largest menu of any restaurant Ive been to.

Great place. My mom has been coming here since the early 60’s. Went for her 70th birthday today. We ordered both sushi and Chinese food. Great options and great space.

The food is above expectations, but where Rice Bowl really shines is in its service. The food came quickly and the server was attentive without being over bearing. A great, family friendly restaurant. Definitely in my rotation for family dinner out.
