2023-11-22 23:59:56Pretty surprised about the quality here, its good, has a Japanese cafe vibe in terms of aesthetics and background music. The fusion dishes blend both Thai and Japanese themed pretty well.If you want to feel filled, an appetizer and main dish are plenty sufficient.Going to return to try other chef recommendations.

2023-07-05 13:43:58Modern and clean. Menu seemed strange with a bunch of creative fusion options, but I think it mostly hit. The soy milk pho was super creamy and surprisingly really good. The spring rolls and fried chicken were decent as well. The folks here were accommodating of our large group. Overall, an unassuming but solid option to check out.

2023-08-29 16:46:57Update: just tried the Soy Milk Chicken Pho, and it is my new favorite thing. Soul satisfying and unctuous without being heavy. Slightest hint of soy flavor, the coarse ground pepper packs the punch, and the pickled lotus adds just the right amount of tang and crunch. I already want to eat it again.Super fresh, well-executed, flavorful, and lovely looking dishes. The food tastes homey and comfortable, but refined. Ordered the veggie spring rolls, Thai fried chicken, and green curry.Spring rolls were simple but delicious, and so carefully prepped. Fried chicken was juicy thigh meat and well fried with a little punch (wish there was even more!). Green curry was one of the better ones we’ve had in the area - well made curry paste.happy that we gave this place a second chance after the initial soft opening, and look forward to coming back. It feels like the restaurant isn’t being as shy about the Thai flavors, and I hope they are even bolder in the future.

2023-06-19 06:11:00Quite disappointed. The menu descriptions sounded intriguing but the reality was unpleasant. The green curry was bland. The beef spring roll appetizer was weird as was the chicken cheese one (“cheese egg roll”) and also the croquettes. I won’t be returning nor recommending it to anyone.

2023-11-23 04:58:47If youre dreaming of a meaty feast, steer clear of the pho white soup base – its an all-veggie zone! You wont find a speck of meat in there. I ended up both $21 lighter and still hungry after diving into a bowl of just pho noodles bobbing in a curry soup sea. In my book, that combo isnt quite the treasure youd hope for in a meal. 🍜💸🚫🥩

2023-04-30 07:03:17Loved this place! A friend of mine and his partner had been here a couple times and introduced us. The service was efficient and friendly. The ambiance was homey but still very clean and straight-lined.Like, you could go on a date here or you could go with family and it wouldn’t feel weird for either type of occasion. The food was very good and the prices (while still Bay Area prices) were of reasonable value. My absolute favorite was the Kra Pao w/ braised oxtail. The waiter even let us know it was spicy, which was cute. I thought it was the perfect amount of spice, so I assume that they must have had some people who can’t handle spice complain.Overall a great place to go, especially for a late night meal. Because as we know everything closes early in the Bay Area.

2022-09-28 19:06:36Fairly recent addition to the San Mateo food scene, offering an eclectic fusion of elements from Thai and Japanese cuisine. The ambiance and chef and her serving staff were nice and friendly. However, the food at least the lunch menu didnt hold up to our anticipation. They have moved much of their fusion cuisine offerings to the dinner menu and well need to visit again to have a fair opinion of their food.

2022-12-24 01:34:53There’s nothing like a bowl of Beef pho or Spicy Tofu Noodles on a cold day, along with some delicious appetizers!! We can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes. If you need a beautiful and relaxing place for a delicious meal, especially during the holidays then you’ll need to go to @rintei_asianfusion in San Mateo.

2023-06-12 03:40:50An upscale restaurant right on El Camino, Rin-Tei is a great place to eat. First, I want to just talk about how lovely the bathroom is. Its well maintained and smells so nice!Other than that, the host was really kind and nice. The food was also so good! We got the tofu dish, which we split. Its pictured below, and is half of the dish.

2023-08-30 23:46:37This place is very underrated. If it was in the middle of downtown San Mateo, it would have an hour wait everyday. I got the chicken rice and it was very good. I am also very grateful that it closes later than 99% of places in the area. The interior design is also very fresh and clean. Would definitely be coming back.
