1st of all, its no longer Rocios Mexican Kitchen its called La Diosa de Los Moles.Service was awful. It seemed to bother the waitress questions regarding the moles since it was my 1 and only time to visit the restaurant. They had both coolers on, too cold to eat.
The service was great and the food was delicious. The Portobello mushroom is listed in the plant meals section and came with rice. Not sure if the moles are plant based though.
Wonderful tiny restaurant! Great balanced flavors that make the food shine. Great for someone new to latinx food that wants to expand their boundaries, not too spicy, not too salty, not dripping grease either! A wonderful eating experience with great staff and a friendly atmosphere. You wont regret visiting it!
The mole is delicious here. Very authentic Mexican recipes with different flavors of mole. The Aguas grescas are very refreshing. The server is always friendly and hardworking.
The waitress was really nice and she was just excellent I really recommend coming here because the food is just so amazing and brings a nostalgic feeling to me when I eat there. The food was great. My daughter had the Asada Plate and she said yjat it had great flavor but that the meat was a bit tough. My mole dish was great tasting and I really enjoyed the plantainwith tequila sauce dessert. I would go back to get more of that dessert.
Love the food! Service is iffy n not kid friendly.Ive been here up to 3 times in a week and bring in a mix of previous friends and colleagues. No complaints about the food but if I want to bring my babies that dont eat anything on the menu we have to eat outside by a noisy street since we bring outside food. Its worse in the summer with the heat and flies. Oh and no bathroom. Waitresses seem more apt the the male rat faced waiter who disappears even when its slow. Also has the personality of a door knob. Really wish La Diosa De Los Moles was still around. That was my favorite restaurant with an all star staff.
It all starts with a smiling face and a warm greeting. Then it gets better. A choice of delicious drinks, my favorite a Sweet cucumber drink. Then a basket of chips with 3 types of Mole. All three are delicious, the best Mole I have ever tasted any where.It gets even better, but I will leave it for you to experience so not to spoil your experiance. Fine flavor, service and freindly people.
The Mole Queen should stick to the mole. While the actual moles were very good, pretty much everything else we tried was less than good.The chile en nogada had way too much cinnamon. The empanadas werent bad they just lacked flavor. The worst was the flan. It was like sweetened scrambled eggs.DO NOT eat outside. The smell of the sewer is ridiculous.

I love authentic Mexican food and I am always looking forward to try any recommendations. This one I found online and couldnt be happier. The moles are so authentic, yes all of them since they have a variety. The agua fresca de pepino (cucumber) is the best Ive tried. Its is a small place and I love that. You may find parking in the street, no big deal! You wont regret it, try it!
The food here is really good. They have a bunch of different moles and it brings the Mexican dishes to the next level. Even if you just get some mole on the side and put it on your burrito or tacos.
Ive only been here once but the food was delicious. I had the Mahi Mahi fish with rice & a Cucumber-lemon water. The fish was perfectly cooked. Not under cooked or over cooked. There was no one there but they had a lot of pickup orders that they were making. The staff was friendly. On their menu they had ten different styles of Mole. They have enfrijoladas which is like a quesadilla with beans poured on top. I cant wait to go back. I told my friends & family and theyre excited to go to. The service was excellent the food was just above average I would definitely be going back there again and taking friends.I recommend getting the cucumber water is very healthy for yourself., the hortchata was really good.

Dont be fooled by the outside of Rocios, looks can be deceiving. Small location with a big bang of taste! Authentic Mexican food; I tried the pork steak in mole verde and extremely tasty, the fried bananas added the cherry on the icing. Enjoy!2nd visit:I had Chilate de Pollo; amazing taste!! Be aware its got a real good spicy kick to it so if youre not used to eating spicy foods this might not be a good choice for you.My husband had enchiladas de pollo; he didnt even make a sound! Delicious!!Ask for the aguas frescas, we had agua de melon and agua de pepino con chia, both real good.Oh and the chips con salsa and mole youre served as soon as you walk in are really good to start with.Parking is a bit limited and Rocios is a pretty small location with maybe 6 tables (if that) so you might have a little wait but so worth it!

Such a wonderful find for some delicious, authentic Mexican mole. The place is small but so cozy, with efficient service and tasty food. The tacos de cochinita pobil were amazing. Loved visiting the tiendita next door in the same parking lot.
Nice place to come and eat just not when is hot a/c was off or not working not sure and it made the place hot few people complain among themselves about it had to keep fanning myself with the menu I couldnt eat comfortably they have about 6 tables inside and only one highchair they do have tables outside not sure but i think you can also call and make reservation but over all food/agua fresca is good (1/28/18) gave it 4 stars simply because the heat situation otherwise I wouldve gave it 5.
Bad experience at this restaurant I pad 17 dollars for a shrimp 🍤plate and they barely give me food I only get 7 shrimp for that priceI told the lady and she said she cant give me a refund please people do not eat at this place! Here some pics

Its OK, nothing amazing. I love molé so Ive been wanting to try this place. My husband and I finally decided to try it but molé wasnt that good and the beans were to spicy. We wont be returning.
Always the BEST mole in town. Not every place makes Chile en nogada ~ Rocio’s does and they are awesome! Hand made tortillas and great aguas frescos, with free refills!! Yum! Enjoy!!
Rocios restaurants are some of the most authentic and unique Mexican food in L.A. Tacos y Mezcal has become a fav of mine. Rocios Mexican Kitchen is a more rustic and diverse selection of dishes. Empanadas are true to taste in all the flavors. The churros desert is the best. Next stop: Diosa de los Moles.
Best mole you’ll find. Everything is perfectly prepared and fresh. So good - worth a trip if you’re anywhere in the LA area.

The food was very good, and the customer service was awful. Will not be back. The table was dirty after 15 minutes of waiting for the server I had to go to the front and ask for some menus and the table to get clean. They only have 6 tables and 2 servers. They did not come once to see how we were doing or to offer more coffee. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

The cleanliness is questionable - the amount of flies in this restaurant make it impossible to comfortably have a meal. I came here under the impression that it would be a great experience due to the 4.6 rating, but decided not stay too long and only have a drink here. There are open food containers in the kitchen which is no good in a environmental where there are flies. Two stars for friendly staff and good drinks.
Loved the service, great people work here, my wife and I came 20 minutes before closed they gave us the best service ever food was delicious highly recommend this place.
Excellent food for guests that have time to waste. Our plates took about 40 mins to appear. There were 3 empty tables, so the place was not busy. The food is excellent, actually really great but I doubt I’ll come again if I don’t have 2 hrs to kill.

Rocios is superb. A lot has been said about the wide variety of Mexican food that is now available in Los Angeles, and theres no better example of something that would not have been possible 30 years ago then Rocios. The variety, complexity, and deliciousness of the moles served here make it well worth the drive across town
If youre a fan of molé, this is a must go to place. There are 10 molés to choose from to have with a selection of 5 proteins or on a mushroom. I had the porkchop with two sauces (an option with 5 of the molé sauces). The place itself is a whole in the wall, so dont expect date environment.

Tia Mole in East Los Angeles Cesar Chaves to this New One, same taste of mole, NO BATHROOMS, went to there little store across the back for the bathroom and was closed 3:30pm SunWaiter OVER CHARGE THE BILL so check your bill. Disappointed

I came here because it had great reviews, but I had never tried mole. Honestly I was a little nervous because the mole doesnt look very appetizing to me. It was deceiving because it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place if you like mole, and also if you dont like mole its worth trying.The place itself is very clean, small place, several tables, great service, The juice is very good I had pina and it was delicious. Also served in a metal cup which was kind of cool and unique.
I was there today Sunday Jan 22Was greeted to a seat and the waitres a young lady brought us drinks but never came to take our order Waited 30 min Gave them a chance I actually went to the cashier and told her were ready to order and still no one came to serve us. So what i did was got up and will never come back .. You have lost my business
This is a terrible location will admit it’s a restaurant that sells mole food but they do not have any restrooms. Look man if you live close by definitely dine in because you have enough time to go to the restroom but if you don’t live close by good luck hopefully you know how to control your valve movements. The cucumber drink was good and the enchiladas with the salsa virgin were really good too. It has really good food it’s just a terrible location really tiny too but they do what they can.

Have been coming here regularly for the last 3 years and the food and service was always excellent. In the last 4 months or so service has been extremely slow and the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. We go back after a bad experience hoping it was just a bad day but it doesnt get any better. After today, unfortunately my coworkers and I will never return. Our favorite, salmon in zucchini blossom sauce was terrible! The sauce has become very oily, either too much butter or oil and is over powering. The worst of it was that the salmon had a really bad taste, definitely not fresh. We had to return it.
Every time I come back here when Im in town. Im just amazed how good the food is always amazing and delicious.

It was an unbelievable experience to find all these exotic hard to find Mexican dishes in a little hole in a wall that has been reviewed my Michelin guide. I live far from this restaurant, but it was so worth taking the trip for the amazing food they have. Try their grape sauce. It is addicting and not to mention their low prices. This restaurant is a true gem!

RUDE staff. There are better places that aren’t as tiny and overcrowded as this anyways. Also I had come here a few years ago and the mole plates barely had any mole so I see their service and food have clearly not gotten any better.

I went to this restaurant today and I was very disappointed to see some of the employees working at the kitchen with no mask. I told the manager that One of the employees was talking on top of my food with no mask. She said that he did not supposed to have one, she was not wearing a mask mask neither. Food is great but I realize that they don’t care about customers health. I wouldn’t recommend this place
This is my first time at the Bell Gardens home of Rocios moles. Id been to her valley location several times before the fire. SO glad to taste her moles again. 8 moles with several meat options are the highlight of the menu. We could only try two tonight, but both were delicious. I cant wait to come back for the rest!
This is an open letter to Rocio.We have followed you and your various restaurants for many years now. We love Rocios Mexican kitchen and eat here regularly.We ate here on Sunday morning, May 23rd. The waitress that helped us was absolutely horrible. She was very impatient, never smiled, and was very angry, dismissive, and disrespectful. We had to get up and ask for simple items like knives, salsa, etc.I mention this to you simply because, if we didnt already know what a wonderful place this is, we would never go back. This employee is putting your business at risk in your absence.I can assure you we will not eat here ever again if she is working when we come. We will do a quick look, and if shes on the clock, we will come back on a different day and go eat somewhere else.In closing, thank you for the excellent food you provide...
This was excellent food and flavor! We went here to celebrate my moms birthday and were not disappointed at all. The mole was one of the best that I have ever had and the agua de horchata was so good too. We also had a very attentive server that came to ask if we needed anything. Cute little restaurant with amazing authentic food. Tortillas are handmade which made everything even more enjoyable.
Had to stop here because of the massive Day of the Dead statue, Great food! Because it’s made fresh and with a lot effort, I eat a wide variety of Mexican food. And this place was 10 out of 10. If you are looking for a greasy hard taco this isn’t the place.However if you desire good Mexican fare this is the -lace

Some of the best mole in town. I used to go to the Sunland location before it burned down. I fell in love with the wide variety of mole options and wonderful tortillas they served. When I heard Rocio was able to open a new location in Bell Gardens, I drove all the way from Studio City to go there. So so worth it! The mole sampler is a great way to start your meal. Over the years, Ive tried most of the mole offerings. You honestly cant go wrong. The flavors are wonderful and complex. I highly recommend it!
This place is simply unbelievable. I loved it. The food was fresh. The horchata was homemade along with the cucumber mint drink. I had the salmon that was out of this world. The mole too was so amazing. Kudos to the chief. I highly recommend.

Really great mole. Good service the cafe de olla is sweet and not bitter and the mole cheesecake is super good. I recommend the empanadas the mole oxacequeno with Chile relleno and the cheese enchiladas with mole. If they have it get the mole cheesecake it is very good.
The food is delicious every time I go, I cant enough of there food 😋 the only draw back is that It gets really busy sometimes so I try to place a phone order and obviously because theyre really busy they dont answer the phone but its understandable but I highly recommend this place for authentic Mexican food.
Ive been here twice and if its mole you enjoy; get ready for great choices and a variety of moles. The combinations are so good, its hard to choice just one. Perhaps if I come back in another life, I will request to come back as a cow; being they have 4 stomachs.
My first time. Didnt look at the menu very closely. I had salmon with what the menu said it was the best mole. It was ok. When I looked at the menu more closely I realized that they had entrees. I want to go back and try something else. My wife tried their Chile Relleno that she said was ok. And we tried their Queso Fundido with Chorizo which she liked a lot. Their corn tortillas were also very good. All in all the experience was ok. I think another visit will be needed to base an proper opinion.
I hate to say this but the carne asada is not asada!!! And chicken flautas have no taste… salsa was decent… literally everything else needs to be re-evaluated!!!!
Food quality and taste has decreased significantly...wont be going back and would not recommend it. Does not compare to the Diosa de los Moles restaurant that was run by same owner a couple of years ago...which is the reason I went to this place.
I have a few recommendations, to hire more staff theres only one cook and one server shes about 7 or 8 months pregnant and cant move fast enough,she needs someone there to help her shes the one that takes the orders,serves the drinks,takes the food orders to the tables and take in mind thats inside and the outdoor sitting aswell,she picks up dirty dishes, cleans the tables and is the cashier aswell.she forgot to bring 2 drinks to two people in my table they didnt get there drinks until they finished eating and thats because they got up and asked for it again. Poor lady i hope the owner is paying her enough to do multiple roles at this establishment! And one thing that i didnt notice until we were leaving is the cook doesnt wear a mask or gloves!! I saw him cooking scramble egg on the grill and fixing it making sure it stayed together with his hand Are you kidding me.plus no one sanitizes the menus after the customers use them on their tables.

If you like Mole, this is the place!Rocios has several different type of moles, the two I tried were excellent. The meal comes with fresh hand made tortillas, which come in handy to enjoy the extra mole sauce.
Close to the authentic home cooking. I was hoping for a little more flavorful. Better than most, yet I was hoping for a little more. The service was great and friendly. The price was decent. Tortillas fresh off the griddle and coffee good. I may be back one day.

Food is amazing!!!! But unfortunately service is horrible, they take forever to sit you down, to serve you drinks and to take order and bring your food. Tried their excellent CHILES EN NOGADA, even though they were offered without the typical GRANADA SEEDS, the sauce was so delicious and nutty flavored as well as the ground beef perfectly seasoned that the entire dinner was delicious and perfect, definitely you need to try them at this special time of the year!!!

Have been here twice and both times the food was excellent. They specialize in different variations of mole but also have a good breakfast and entree menu. The salmon was excellent (flavorful and tender) and the super desayuno was really good. The fresca and cafe de olla are also top notch.

I learned of this place when I was watching the news and decided to try it if I was ever in LA or nearby. I did and the mole is amazing! I had the green mole and the pipian one. I will definitely go back when I can. I also had the plantain as dessert and it was delish! Anything you order there its gonna be delicious!

Best mole ever. Gotta try the pipian Rojo made with peanuts or the pistache mole, very unique. Also, ghr pumpkin seed horchata is a nice twist from the ordinary drink.

This is a culinary jewel just south of East Los Angeles. Their specialty is Mole in many varieties. Its nestled in Bell Gardens near the corner of Garfield Avenue and Ira Street, just north of the Eastern Avenue Fork.

If you are into traditional mexican cuisine this is the place for you. Ive tried different things on their menu and it never disappoints. I always recommend it to friends and family.
I guess if you like Mole its alright.. the asada bland, there was no Chile rellenos even though they were on the menu. Super cool staff they are working with what they have.

It was good, but not for there prices, the portions are small, for the big cost per person, would not go back, for what am paying, i can go to a nicer place,
They were willing to prepare my Burrito exactly how I requested it. Price was cheaper than the other places that I go to. I will be back next Thursday
Hands down the best Oaxacan restaurant. Best tasting moles. There are some competitors out there in the LA country area but this has got to be the best one. The horchata is all natural and great tasting. The cafe de olla is on point. Must try.

Food is decent been here 2 times just way too expensive for the amount of food that you get I ordered 2 breakfast burritos today and paid $15.24 for 2 burritos! I mean if the burritos were huge I would be ok but its your ordinary 10 tortilla food and service are ok but just way too pricy!!
Cute spot with delicious Mole. Agua de Pepino is so refreshing. Must stop by and try the enchiladas. Mole Poblano is my favorite. But theyre all good.

The food isnt really good and its expensive. When I entered the restroom, it was a terrible mess and so was the kitchen. The tacos were cold and the meat was hard. I couldnt eat it. Dont recommend it.

My husband took me there as a surprise cz he heard a good comment on the news, is a small but nice place, food is ok, service 1-2 they got our order wrong i wanted a refill of my drink and the waitress never approached to asked if we needed something my husband got up couple of times to ask for what we needed, we also heard a comment of other client saying the order they asked for wasnt right

Visited this place for the first time due to the ratings on it but was unhappy with my visit. there was no where to wash my hands which was a big disappointment, also the food I ordered was the carne asada plate which had no flavor at all it was lacking seasoning. I dont think I will ever visit this place again

2023-09-05 13:42:09Amazing experience! Not sure if this is the same owner as the Diosa de los moles in paramount. That location was my favorite but it closed down. This location however Is a lot smaller and does not offer a buffet setting but it is still delicious! The cafe de olla is my absolute favorite! I will be coming here again for the mole and all their tasty dishes.

2023-09-23 21:03:11We notice it was highly recommended by a renown gourmet website. We were totally blown away. The chips brought to the table were topped with a light drizzling of molé and some pipian. The chips and its toppings were really telling us we were in for an unforgettable eating experience. We started with Queso fundido with chorizo. It came with hand made corn tortillas. The chorizo comes cut in bit-size chucks, not the crumbly pan dripping you get at most places. We enjoyed it very much. The cheese and the chorizo were flavorful. For our main course, we ate tacos de chapulines (grasshoppers), taco feos (ugly) and an empanada plater. My teenagers loved the grasshopper taco. I ate two of them. Absolutely delicious. The tacos feos are a chicken taco with some molé manchamanteles over them. It also has a pineapple slice and small slices of fried plantain in the taco. It was a flavor explosion. The empanadas were crispy and flavorful. I ordered some extra molé manchamanteles to dip them in and that took them over the top. We highly recommend you try the platanos in tequila. It beautifully presented on a plate with strawberry garnish. The bananas were slighly carmelize and topped with a flavorful cream topping. You could take the hint of tequila in the topping. We loved it. We even took some molé home. This is Mexican food its truest form. You could tell it was cooked the love and respect for the customer. We will be back soon

2023-05-11 15:39:52The place itself, you could say, is a hole in the wall, but it isnt as it is right in the corner where two streets meet. The atmosphere is pleasing and was well thought out. I love the barrel tables out back.As for the food, the mole truly is delicious. Its so good that I bought some to bring home. However, the chicken for the mole was a little dry. The beans were really good. The Quesabirria tacos were also really good, but that plate is more like an appetizer. I had to purchase fast food for my husband when we left as he was still very much hungry. The tortillas had a slight preservative smell. So atmosphere and mole superb, the other items were just ok.

The service was amazing and relatively quick. The ambiance is welcoming and always playing good music.Went with the family for breakfast and everyone loved their plate. At first they were hesitant because they never heard of a a good place that has mole at a restaurant, im glad I found this location and was able to change their mind.

2023-07-29 18:49:28This place deserves its Michelin star! Delicious food, attentive staff, nice and authentic atmosphere, reasonable prices.The chips tasted really good with the salsa. The breakfast menu was more American. So we went right away to the lunch menu. The variety of offered moles is impressive. Instead of going with a classic, I chose the smoked spicy mole together with Mahi Mahi. Note that most places only offer chicken with mole. So, the variety of proteins is another plus. The Mahi Mahi was well cooked and a good size. The mole was very delicious and the rice helped to balance the spicyness. We also tried their special chicken soup which was very rich in flavor.The restrooms are in a separate store that is definitely worth visiting.
