This place is certainly one of the most attractive restaurants in the area.and the prices are incredibly reasonableThe service is remarkable. The server she is exemptional pleasant very courteous to talk to.the food is out of this world you can never go wrong with this place.I highly recommend this place to anyone who has a good appetite for Japanese foods.

Food was fantastic, our food was made promptly, and the value is worthwhile. California rolls were fresh, but their Lion King and Arcadia rolls were especially tasty. In addition, their Seafood Udon soup was equally good while maintaining a good portion. Will definitely order again.
Great place! Udon and rice bowls (chicken or beef) are highly recommended. The Ramen is subpar so please stay away from it. Other than that, the place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is great with reasonable prices.
Cheap sushi for take out. Postmates delivers it. Not expecting much and it was good. If youre not picky and understand quality expectation for its price, it can get the job done for your sushi craving.

Fantastic little hole in the wall for good quick Japanese food. The menu is reasonably priced and the portion sizes fit well with the cost. The food is made to order and comes from the kitchen good and hot. The only downside is they do not sell alcohol here so be ready for that.
Hi, reason why I gave one star were for some issues I had . Overall the food tasted very amazing, as I am big foodie on the Japanese culture it came out great . I had ordered the California rolls which are my absolute favorite.The main issue was the employee who had helped me out upon ordering. Not sure how you spell her name, it was Leteacia or Leticeeia. When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by her, than proceeded to overlook the menu as I was hungry for a big appetite. It took me a minute or two to decide what I would like to have. During that time she was acting a bit anxious and seemed like she was in a rush for me to order . So I than approached her what I wanted, I don’t know why but her response was “what do you want “ in a demanding tone . I thought nothing about it . After I was done ordering, she gave me my receipt aggressively and said “here’s your receipt, I’ll call out your order when it’s done thanks “.As I was waiting it seemed like she was really aggravated, wasn’t really nice about taking my order and wanted me to be in and out of the restaurant. I thought nothing about it at the time, but being treated like that and treating your customers in that tone was very unprofessional. While ordering I noticed she kept moving her fingers as if she was irritated and was breathing really heavily. I didn’t appreciate that as if I wasn’t welcomed by her and when my order was ready she handed it and proceeded to say “here’s your order it’s done” than walks away before I get the chance to ask for additional sauce and napkins .Please take this into consideration of your employee which I was rudely treated by and I will not return until action is acknowledged on the experience I had . I do really enjoy this establishment, after that incident I don’t take rudeness kindly . Thank you
Cashier girl working @8:30pm on 3/14 is very rude. In addition, provides poor customer service. To prevent her from alienating additional customers, she should be retrained on how to be polite and/or customer centric. Too bad, because the food is ok. Today, this establishment just lost a long time customer, due to poor staff selection. Please management, do better when hiring staff, if not you will continue to lose customers.
Been here quite a few times and always had an excellent experience. Today I ordered a teriyaki chicken plate and a drink. When the lady dropped off my order, she delivered a teriyaki chicken bowl. I told her that I had ordered the plate. She looked at the receipt and said well you paid for the bowl so... Sorry and she walked away.She was distracted when she took my order and miss heard me. But instead of taking responsibility for her mistake, I had to settle for something less than what I ordered. I would have gladly paid the difference and waited to get the correct dish, but it never crossed her mind to make it right.When people tell me that the minimum wage should be$15/hour, I think of moments like this. She couldnt careless about the people who come in and keep her employed. This isnt MacDonalds or taco Bell. This is a one off, niche restaurant, that cant afford negative reviews. And yet they have people working there that either dont care or arent empowered to keep their customers happy.All in, the cost to replace my order, would be right around $3. Including the labor to make it. If it were my restaurant, I wouldnt fire the girl who messed up. Id let her know about it and give her a budget of $10. Any issue that costs under$10 to resolve can be resolved by her in the moment. This way she knows that if something gets messed up she can fix it without reprocussions to her. This makes empowerment is what gives customers the experience that makes them want to come back.
MUCH tastier teriyaki bowls than most other places, and the quality of both the chicken and beef is better than expected. The hot sauce has a big kick!
Ordered chicken teriyaki with a side of vegetables and got one piece of broccoli and 3 pieces of carrot. When I asked the manager for more vegetables he told me to buy a side because its only 95 cents as if that was the point. I used to eat here almost every day and was a regular customer. I will never eat at this restaurant again. Customer service is everything.
Its a must try its really delicious they a have a huge menu to choose from. I definitely like it choose rolling rice more then waba or flame broiler.
The ramen was a terrible choice. I swear they got it from the 99 cent store. The best thing that came with the food was the wasabi. The cashier was nice enough to give me the spicy tuna. That was okay. So thats the only reason this place got a 2 star.

Rolling Rice has all the qualities of a sit down japanese style restaurant with the slightly slower speed of a fast food restaurant. It typically takes about 5-10 minutes for their orders.The places is very clean and well kept. The food itself is fresh and healthy looking at the very least. They also have a limited sushi menu which seems to center more around rolls than raw fish.Id much prefer this place over drive thru fast food, seeing as it tastes good and is just as convenient.
Rolling RICE, emphasizing the RICE because that seems to be all you get at this fast-casual Terriaki-bowl-place. Ironic, how the issue is in the name. The food is good, place is clean, staff is meh, but oh are they stingy, dont expect to get a lot of meat or veggies. Almost every meal comes loaded with rice. Their catch is its one of the only somewhat healthy wholesome places to eat in the area.
Just tried this place and It was amazing and delicious.unfortunately there are not good places to eat in el monte but Rolling rice stands out healthy and quick ! will continue to come here for lunch and very close to my workplace. Highly recommended

I called once to see if they can help me but since I wasnt paying with a credit card they didnt want to help. I parked right in front of the location but it would of been one too many trips to get money then bringing the food out.

2023-08-10 19:05:50I want to share my issue happens today Thursday around 11:30am. I called in and placed an order 10 pieces crunch roll and one miso soup. When my sister came to pick up my food, she called me because it was not the one I ordered. I told my sister to let me talk with the cashier to confirm my order but the cashier refused to talk to me when I requested several items. When I ordered I repeated two times “10 pieces crunch roll and one miso soup”. This is a very very terrible service I have ever met. I am the customer of Rolling Rice. I have frequently come to this store. But from now on I say good bye to this store. I gave the store one star and recommend that this cashier should be re-trained for how to deal with the customer. I could not believe that she refused to talk with the customer.

2021-10-21 22:37:02I ordered 2 yakisoba bowls. 1 with beef, one with chicken. I just got home to find a COMPLETELY incorrect order. I even repeated my order 2x!! This is so disappointing!! I looked in the bag and thought the bowl on top was chicken. It’s not. It’s eel and rice. $25 for food that is not in my diet and I don’t want.

The vegetable tempura was the highlight but too pricey. Overall for the price not bad. I wouldnt make a special drive for it but I would have lunch there if work was nearby

2023-02-17 09:23:37Ive been going here since it opened. All their ingredients are always fresh. I recommend their sushi, teriyaki bowl and plate. The ramen is really good. I tried everything they got on the menu and I can say, not one disappointment. Its my go-to spot. I Love this place!

2017-08-29 19:36:16False advertising... I tried the Chicken Yakisoba and when I got the plate it didnt have veggies (broccoli, carrots, etc) instead it had a bad salad. When i asked the lady who helped me she just stated that the was an old picture and it doesnt come like that anymore and wanted to charge me for a side of veggies.....
