By far the best pesto in orange County! Staff is great and friendly! If you are looking for Italian food, this is the place to go!I love the old school Italian Memorabilia and Decor. Daniel is great and always takes care of us.

This place was awesome. They were very accommodating by hosting a party of 12 on a Sunday evening. My sausage was a little dull but the rest of the table really enjoyed their food. This was a fantastic place to host a little family get together. Service was great and they made you feel like family.

This restaurant is good for the ambiance and the food is pretty satisfying. The restaurant can get crowded and you may need to call ahead of time to reserve a table. I ordered the pasta tombrello and it was decent but my wifes pesto had more flavor than the meat sauce that was in mine. The calamari was a must order as an appetizer and the bread included was a welcome addition to the carbs consumed throughout the night. If I eat here again, Ill make sure to order the pesto.

We had individual pizzas (pepperoni on one sausage, mushroom, bell pepper the other). Both delicious, especially the crisp chewy thin crust n red/yellow peppers. Salad was crisp n delicious but we added vinegar to the dressing to get it to pop. The penne with meatball n sausage was terrific. Highly recommend this place. Our own chianti topper off meal for 4 with leftovers providing a marvelous lunch for four the next day. The place was packed 6:00p Sat. Eve.

The best seafood I ate in all California. The portions are huge, the food is really tasty, the serving is super fast and the ladys are really nice! We stayed outside, so we enjoyed a quite dinner. We had to wait 15-20 minutes, but be patient, it’s worth it !

This little gem is hidden in a small plaza but servers big dishes. The staff was great but this place is packed and a huge line waiting. Food was great, we had the egg plant parmigiana and sausage mozzarella. Definitely coming back.

Absolutely great Alfredo, and the bread to go with it. While working here locally from out of town, this has become my weekly treat for Tuesday night pasta special. Reasonable prices for the amount of food and the service. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and pay attention to getting your drinks out and refilled as well. The only thing that they could improve, is fresh grated cheese and not the powder stuff like all of the pizza parlors have. They open at 5 pm every day for dinner, and there is usually a line forming at least a half hour before they open.

First time here and the food was good. We started with the bruschetta and it was good but served hot so not what we expected. We had a pizza and two pastas to share among four. The bolognese was okay, nothing special. The pasta Gianna was really good.Our server was nice and attentive. Over all we would come back if in the area.

Searched on Google maps for pasta on our route home when we were visiting for Sawdust Festival. This had good reviews and from the first bite we knew why! For an appetizer we had sausage in red sauce topped with mozzarella and parmesan cheese as well as a center of ricotta cheese all BAKED together. One TASTE of that sauce and we were completely hooked. That tasted like homemade let me tell you. It feels like Ive never eaten homemade sauce in my life from anywhere. The free bread was good in the center but too hard all the way around. I had the shrimp scampi and I would say that the noodles were a little bit lacking in flavor but the shrimp were tender, delicious, and plentiful. My husband got the picante pizza which had ground sausage and mushroom and spicy Olive oil. It wasnt too hot for me which is great. My husband had the key lime martini he loved it he gave me a sip and I loved it too. It was lightly sweet, fresh, and flavorful. GREAT ATTENTIVE SERVICE. When we are in town again we will be back!

Overall score: 2 stars for the food, 3rd star for the service/hospitality. Place was busy for a Thursday at 8pm and instead of waiting 20 minutes for a table we opted ordering to-go. We ordered a kids penne & meatball, side of meatballs (2 come in an order) and wedding soup. Total cost, $20 + tip.Kids portion of pasta was pretty big, my son and I split it and shared the meatballs and had leftovers to spare. Sauce was on the sour side which was disappointing and we didn’t love it. Meatballs were a little tough. Size of meatballs were generous and lots of extra sauce for sipping.Wedding soup had a great flavor but was over salted. Also, I can’t believe I’m saying this as a pasta lover but there was too much pasta in the soup. Would have loved to have more of the broth but it was too salty to eat it all.2 sides of bread were included which was the best part of the meal. Bread was soft and delicious.Third star given for the service. Hostess was friendly and the bartender was awesome. Super prompt service, extremely friendly and food came out quick (kudos to the kitchen!). Hoping maybe it was an off night flavor-wise and will give it one more chance as there are some other menu items I’d like to try.

The food at this amazing Italian place called Romano Cucina was absolutely delicious. The bread was crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside, Pasta was perfectly cooked, staff was super busy but very attentive on what we needed, and the dessert was to die for. Tiramisu was soft and moist and a delicious taste. And the cannolis cream just melted in your mouth. I will definitely come back. If youre ever in the Laguna Hills area dont forget to stop by here. This is the best Italian food Ive had around here. Great job Romano Cucina.

There were soulless wicked among many inside a full restaurant with a few brief glances. It was in the restaurant for 4 minutes and left the restaurant then returned to the restaurant to pick up food after 25 minutes had passed and left the restaurant. Many soulless wicked were in there said God Iehova. Talk about a hidden spot, so I live right down the street in Irvine, and looking for something to eat they had vegan Italian we decided to ask google to pick a spot, and it was 10 min away! 4.5 friendly staff. Got lucky to get a table on Sunday night without too much wait (this place is a mad house on Friday and Saturday nights). Food portions are big. The food is seasoned to the American pallet, but overall the food is very good.Tried the steak Milanese for appetizer. Main dishes were eggplant parmigiana and pasta primavera aglio olio (vegetarian dish with garlic and olive oil).My wife liked the primavera and I liked the eggplant (the breading was just right and I asked for easy cheese). Dish comes with choice of pasta, I got spaghetti, needed salt and pepper added, was a little bland for my taste).

The pasta trombello with spaghetti was absolutely delicious. Planned on eating half to save some for lunch the next day, but ended up eating it all and using the bread to eat the left over ground sausage. Staff is very friendly and service is quick even on a busy night.

The food was both excellent and plentiful with servings that none of our group could finish. The service was friendly and fast while also unobtrusive. Once our meals were served the staff was unseen unless needed. I recommend reservations due to the popularity of this location as walk-ups can face a wait from 6:00 on. Told no, and to get our own drinks at bar. I get not taking two tables, or taking a table only to leave server (w no meal tip), but had we sat on patio then only ordered drinks,OR had we gotten cold and asked to move indoors, what then would have happened? This place is our favorite Italian restaurant. Weve been to both the Laguna Hills and Seal Beach locations and both are outstanding.The appetizers, bruschetta and calamari fritti are a must have!Every entré weve had has been great, so just close your eyes and put your finger on the menu!We have also done take out...everything is packaged nicely, and warm at time of pick up.The only thing you need to aware of is to come hungry because the portions are plenty and youll want to eat all of it.

Nice cozy place with lots of baseball related pictures on the walls. Always a good thing. We had the milanese parmigiana and the spaghetti alla checks. The milanesa didnt present well, but was huge, crispy and tender. My friend liked it but couldnt finish it. My alla checca was tasty, although a little heavy on the olive oil. The odd thing was that it didnt taste particularly salty, but at the end of the meal I drank half of the large water they supplied, and then went home and had two cans of diet soda. The dish made me extremely thirsty, for some reason. Other than that, we enjoyed our dinner and would return.

This restaurant is the best!! We eat here at least once a week. They have beautiful atmosphere and very nice employees. The cocktails are very inviting and delicious, And the food is so delicious, our favorites are lasagna, chicken parmigiana and spaghetti (yes spaghetti). The bruschetta is like no other with beautiful fresh tomatoes and tasty garlic on crusty French bread. Get there early (they open at 5pm). Enjoy!!

Loved it. Came in and ordered Shrimp Scampi sautéed in olive oil, garlic and lemon over spaghetti pasta, it was delightful. The olive oil sauce was light and tasty and the pasta was perfectly tender. The salad that came with my entree had a light, delightful vinaigrette dressing that loved.My dinner companion had Italian Sausage with linguini in a red sauce. The sausage was perfectly spiced and had a nice smooth texture (no hard bits in it).The food was plentiful, service was friendly and prompt. Weve been wanting to try this place for a while at the recommendation of my coworker. We finally had a chance to stop in today. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server then greeted us promptly and got us started with drinks and put our food order in. We ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and the pasta Bolognese. First came our bread and salad. The bread was warm and fresh and served with butter, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The salad was very delicious. It was a side salad with cucumbers, red onion, parmesan and a light Italian dressing. Next came our food. It was served piping hot and extremely flavorful. We both enjoyed our dishes immensely. The customer service was top notch. We never had to wonder where our server was nor did our drinks ever run empty. We cant wait to return.

Best pasta and meatballs I have had in ages! I was impressed with the service and atmosphere as well. I have been to the Newport Beach location, and it just didnt have the same feel. I am a So. Calif. native and came home to visit my kids. My daughter told me that we would have to get there before 5pm, or we would have a long wait for a table. I thought she was kidding. She wasnt. We arrived before 5pm and there was already a line to get in and the restaurant was full within minutes of opening. After tasting the food and getting a feel of the service, I understood why. I will be back.

We got there about 5:30 and the place was packed, no seats available and already a 30 min wait...thats how good it is. We went in a medium group, the inside is not big enough and not much scope to have table for more than 8 persons. The ambience was ok.Servers are not the best as our order was easily mixed up and was asked again who ordered what while serving.Food was good and amount was ok.I reduced one more star when I found a waiter dropped a flatware when taking back the empty plates and immediatly he kind of shot that flatware to get out of way, that was weird. There was a 20-30min wait on a Wednesday night, but my goodness was it worth it. Half off wine bottles on Wednesdays with no corkage fees (though the server rightfully lamented about customers who only eat the free bread and want a bottle at 50%...come on, just buy a meal..) is great too.The server was super friendly and happy to let us know there was no rush but did seem to disappear for very long periods of time once it was clear we werent going to be ordering any more food. Im not sure if this was an attempt to not bother us but there is a fine line between too much service and too little. We really had to try and flag someone down to get our check.As usual for most Italian places Ive been to, the food was incredibly filling. By far my favorite Italian restaurant in Orange County. The food is consistently good, the service is great, and the restaurant has a really cozy atmosphere. All the meals come with bread and salad, which are both really good. All the entrees Ive tried have been delicious and the tiramisu is excellent. The restaurant itself is pretty small and is only open for dinner, so it can get busy, but if you go within the first 30-60 minutes of opening theres usually not a wait.

Its very cold and rainy night. They did not allow our Guide Dog for the blind inside. They offered seating for all six of us outdoors. The patio was broken down with no tables and chairs due to the weather however, they were going to put a table and chairs for us to sit outside. This place has been a go to for my family for over 15 years. I started at the original location in Sunset Beach. Spicy Shrimp and lasagna was on our plates tonight. I wanted a meal without pasta and the shrimp did not disappoint. Great spice, yet not to hot to mask the ingredients. Lasagna was huge meaty with lots of cheese. Filling for two people and still had some to take home. I have been to 4 locations and have had the same great service and food that I have come to expect.

Many pastas on their menu do not exist in Italy. They give you a choice of different pastas when you choose a sauce/main dish. It is really not supposed to be like that.
