Had a repass here for my father. Susanna, was amazing! She helped me plan the event and kept in constant communication with me.The food was delicious, hot, well presented, and fresh! The service was fabulous as well. Kept the water and tea flowing! Susanna was very flexible and made the entire repass relaxing. I had discovered the Rose Garden when a dear friend had her repass here. At that point I knew it was a fabulous restaurant that cares about customer satisfaction, not their profits. Everyone in my party was treated with respect. It was a lovely way to end the day! I look forward to dining there again! The event I had was for 30 people. Everyone enjoyed the food as much as I did! I received several comments on how delicious and outstanding the food and service was.

We came to this Restaurant expecting the food to be delicious, because we had such a great experience with the “Rose Garden Restaurant” in San Leandro and their food was amazing. But at this located we were shocked with their customer service. While taking our order the waitress was constantly looking over her shoulder and making faces while being noticeably distracted. We asked if she needed to tend to something else as she kept looking away when we were speaking to her. The food was flavorless, nothing like the San Leandro location. We had sizzling rice soup, orange chicken, Mongolian beef and fried rice and the food had NO FLAVOR. Never going back to this place. I’m very surprised they’re still in business.Go to the San Leandro location it’s delicious.

We ordered the dinner for 2 people however, the waiter brought out half rations rather than a dish for two. We were very disappointed in the meal we received which cost $50.00 plus a generous tip.

Ive been to this restaurant many of times but today was very surprising. The quality of food was horrible. Chicken chow mein was made out of pasta noodles like Italian pasta noodles, The Kung Pao chicken was drenched in the dressing, That tastes like a non-traditional flavor. There was hardly no chicken I was shocked and kind of appalled as we pay for these meals during COVID-19 and still the quality of food is downgrading. $50 for NASTY HORRIBLE FOOD... I should have ordered In-N-Out Burger...

I hate to say that I am really disappointed with the last order we picked up. Both me and my husband both thought the food did not taste the same as in the passed. Besides that, I also finding a piece of metal in my chow main I was eating. Cant even imagine what would have happen if I would have swallowed it. I advising them of this via there website email listed and as of today I still have not heard back from them. This is so unprofessional and I know we will never purchase from them again. Really sad cause I did love this place.

Very RUDE service 😠 with these two... I was at seated, people who came in after me had their order taken before me when I told the hostess she have me a dead state and said nothing, not even apologizing !!!! And then when food was ready, i too bag and said thank you and she said nothing, you really need to fix your attitude little girl !!!!?

The food was not good at all. I ordered a lunch special with beef broccoli with fried rice, I got steamed rice instead of fried rice somehow. And the beef broccoli was terrible. The carrots were still hard. And it just had no flavor. The service sucks too. Real good Chinese food is available at jin tsing restaurant in Oakland. No one beats the food there.

The food was okay, but I give them a bad review because they have on their menu a price for the lunch meal, but they charged me more. Also, they asked me if I wanted fried rice or chow mein with my food. I said I wanted nothing, and they said it was free, so I got something and then they charged me for it.

Probably the worst Chinese food Ive ever had. My king Pao chicken was not spicy and the sauce tasted like oranges. My wifes General Tsos chicken tastes burnt and like it was fried in old oil. The crab Rangoons were soggy, but at least tasted ok. The chicken fried rice was bland and just tasted like normal sticky rice.

I have been looking for authentic Chinese food for years and years, and Ive finally found it at Rose Garden!!! We went the first time about 2 months ago and the food was spectacular. I came again this evening, Linda our waitress remembered us (so sweet! We love Linda!) and the food was even better than I remember from the first trip! Amazing food, great service.The restaurant is fairly empty around dinner on a Friday, but it looks like they do a huge amount of pick-up orders. Im glad they keep busy, this food cant go away!!!Im not deducting any points for this, but I would love to see some upgrades in the building...the toilets are pretty old and the bathrooms could use a coat of paint, the tables and chairs are slightly dated, as well as the window decor. But I understand how difficult it can be to make these kinds of changes to your building.Thank you, Garden Rose, for being such a wonderful little hidden gem in an industrial area. Come to my neighborhood and pick up some Chinese next time youre in Union City. You will not regret it.

First time back in years due to spoiled food not reimbursed nor apologized for BUT wanted egg foo yung! First of all the website hasn’t been updated in five to six years per the woman behind the counter so an expected $30-35 dinner turned into $47 for a Cantonese dinner for two. Which would have been okay but #1 the egg foo yung was fried so hard (like an overdone leftover hamburger the next day hard) you had to use a steak knife to cut it - the gravy didn’t help soften it up. #’s 2-5 Bland soup, fatty pork, and neither the rice nor the chow mein had much flavor. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. The only saving grace was that it was ready when they said it would be. So much for second chances. Don’t think there’ll a third time. The charm is gone already.

The Rose Gardens Chinese food is cuisine not fast food nor buffet. Everything from the hot n sour soup to main dish (check back of menu for revived dishes from history) is made fresh. Yes even the soup. Its in a good location for table dining. We savored our meal without loud music or gawdy decor. Working man friendly pricing. Affordable for families. Taste is impressive. Will return again.

Rose Garden is right around the corner from me, so its handy when I get a craving for Chinese. The Combination Chow Fun, Mixed Vegetables, and Honey Walnut Prawns are really outstanding. The servings are ample. The staff is friendly and helpful. Sometimes I call it in for take out. Its fast and so convenient for me. Oh yes, and the chocolate dipped fortune cookies are very yummy!

I use to come here when I was a kid and it has not changed a bit. This by far the best food and family restaurant that is not loud and are very friendly. The quality of the food is always perfect. You guys are awesome thank for always having my family and myself leave with smiles on our faces and with a full, satisfied stomach! We have been going here for a while. The food is very good. Our favorites are the braised tofu (with black mushrooms & steamed bok choy), sizzling seafood rice soup, basil trio vegetables with tofu - my fav, and walnut shrimp. My extended family enjoyed the beef broccoli & Rose Garden chow mein. Before covid-19, we used book our large family luncheons or dinners here. The staff recognizes us, which is great. It really feels like speaking to our neighbor!

Its been years since Ive visited this restaurant. Came here with a large party. Food was ok. A few dishes were a tad too salty for me. The sizzling rice soup was bland and didnt have much substance. The steamed fish was good. The bbq pork seemed like it was immitation. The eggplant was good.

I have been going here for the chicken salad which is very good but could use more chicken and salad dressing. the young lady at the register is very attentive polite and customer service oriented. very clean place with a nice relaxing atmospere located in a center with other restaurants. ive always had positive experience here and the service and food is goid and served in timely. they are very accommodating as well. highly recommend this place.

This is our fav local Chinese restaurant. The Honey Walnut Prawns are soooo good! The rice and chow mein isnt swimming in soy sauce like most places, which is a huge plus. You can always add more if you like but we feel they put just the right amount. Servers are always friendly.

Excellent food and unheard of service. Im a long haul driver and I was making a delivery around the corner the morning. Pulled in 5 minutes before closing and the owner not only welcomed me to order in rather than to go, smiled and said we are both working people, come in and dont rush, you are fine. The food was excellent, but nothing was more incredible than his attitude and service. Definitely recommend and have gone out of way to stop here again

I do a lot of traveling across the states and have the pleasure of eating at all kinds of restaurants, I order take out from the Rose Garden in Union City, CA., a simple Kung Pao Chicken and Veggie fried rice, and for a restaurant that considers themselves as an Authentic Asian restaurant is far from it. It was the worse food Ive ever had. I took a few bits of each dish and it was bad, the flavor, and the mixture. It was a big waste of money; my 12 year old daughter cooks Asian food better than they do. Dont waste your time visiting this place, unless you like throwing away money.

The Rose Garden is my favorite chinese spot on the east bay. Great service and delicious food. Love how they bring out a fresh pot of green tea as soon as you sit and the waiter/waitresses are friendly. I dont demand much service wise from restaurants and they go way above my standards. We had a birthday party at the Rose Garden restaurant and the food was very delicious and the serive was attentive and grat. We always look forward to ahving chinese food whenever were in Union city. The atmosphere is attractive, not noisy and not too formal where you feel uncomfortable.The restaurant has been around for awhile and food remains consistently very good- tasty - and true to a Chinese cuisine.

Possibly my least favorite Chinese restaurant. These are the dishes we have tried: Mongolian beef (awful), fried shrimp appetizer (ok), sizzling chicken with black bean sauce (poor), fried rice (barely ok), chow mein (barely ok, flavorless without a lot of soy sauce, egg drop soup (ok). Strangely the dinner came with both fr rice and noodles. We tried this place a 2nd time in case our 1st experience was just a bad day. There wont be a 3rd visit. I dont know why people rave about the Mongolean beef. It had a sickly sweet sauce and an odd red color.

I have been coming to rose garden since I was a little kid. Their wonton tis my absolute favorite. Ive since moved away to Washington state, but whenever Im back visiting family, I make it a point to visit rose garden a few times. There is nothing like it where I live now.
