I’ve been coming here for years and it is by far the best Chinese food in all of sacramento! The owner and staff are great and their service is amazing. I have been coming here for 32 years. The won ton soup will cure any cold or flu. I dont live in Sac anymore, but I get Rose Garden when Im in town. My girls swear by the healing power of Rose Garden, and now my granddaughter does too.

I have been coming here since 2006. I have been satisfied with everything I have ordered here and I have gone through their menu. Our family mostly goes for their Orange Chicken. Their sauce is not runny. It coats the chicken perfectly and they put whole dried chilies in their Orange chicken so it has a little heat to it which is very nice. My sister hates spice so she just asks for them to leave it out and she doesnt complain. I noticed with all of the dishes I have tried that their sauces have amazing flavor and consistency. Their staff has always been kind and patient. They have amazing food and even more amazing service.

The Rose Garden is the best place for Asian food in Roseville in my honest opinion. It is family owned, the owners were actually neighbors of mine for a few years.The food is amazing and is only bested by the absolute excellence of the service provided by the professional and very friendly staff.Ever since COVID it seems like prices keep going up, and portions continue to diminish in size. NOT HERE THOUGH! Their wonderful food is just as good as it was the first time I ate here over a decade ago.If youre hungry, this is THE place to fill your stomach!

Friendly staff, bad food... Never had Chinese food I didnt like until now. The orange chicken didnt taste like orange chicken. Low quality meat. It was more hot than spicy or flavor, it burnt my tongue... the rice was not fully cooked either. The hot and sour soup was good tho. Wish I had my $14 back. Definitely not coming back.

Takeout food for two cost $47.57….expensive and not enough food for two! The wor wanton soup had almost no soup and was tasteless. The PoPo platter was mediocre at best the chicken/black bean sauce was tasteless. I called and complained and they said they would refund my money but they never did so. Very very disappointing.

This place just opened one week ago exactly today. I ordered the beef broccoli and it was tasty but also salty. My sweetheart ordered sweet and sour pork and she loved it. I did let the waitress know about the saltiness of my food and she apologized and said next time they could make it less salty just request low salt. Which was great because I can always add soy sauce.

The shrimp with lobster and fried rice dish was horrible. There was slime egg soup on top of the shrimp and no lobster. The fried rice did not even taste like traditional fried rice. I don’t know what happened but the food made me not want to eat for the rest of the day.

I love the rose garden Chinese restaurant it is by far my favorite in the Sacramento area! The food is always hot and fresh. The service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend the egg fo young and the lemon chicken. The cream cheese wontons are another of my favorites. Come early for dinner it can get a little busy.

Food was mediocre at best. This was my former in laws favorite Chinese place, I dont know why. Nothing was really good. Nothing was really bad. The prawns or fried shrimp seemed under cooked and doughy. Pork chow mein was somewhat flavorless as was the fried rice and wonton soup. The staff were friendly that I interacted with.

One of my favorite restaurants in Roseville. The employees are always fabulous. I always get an order of the cream cheese wontons, and wonton soup. If you like those places that only give you 1 wonton per soup, you might not be ready for the Rose Garden! The walnut shrimp is scrumdiddlyumptious. And ALL the sesame options are mouthwateringly good. In fact, Ive made myself hungry writing this so Im going to go finish my leftovers!

LOVE this place. Great PooPoo platter. Some call it PoPo platter. Its an appetizer with beef skewers, shrimp, foiled wrapped chicken, pork slices and cream cheese rangoons. Comes with the miniature bbq to heat anything that cools before you can eat it. Only Chinese place we have found with this. Lemon chicken is delicious. BBQ pork fried rice is also very good and you get enough for 4 so we ended up taking enough home for 2 more meals.

If youre ordering vegetarian, apparently youll need to specify that even if the listing is in the vegetarian section, or theyll cook with oyster sauce.That said, there was a miscommunication on the order and the staff went out of their way to make it right - and tried to comp my meal anyway (they insisted I not pay since it wasnt perfect, so I left cash when they werent looking 😆).Its a typical Chinese restaurant, but the passion for perfection by the owners - who were working on the floor with the staff - is differentiating. They also knew so many customers by name that its clearly the place for locals.

I have been here twice now and me and my kids LOVE the food.... Taste fresh, never old.... we love the potstickers and Im addicted to their AMAZING Singapore rice noodle plate.... my kids love the general chicken, lots of yummy veggies with chicken chow mein.... Food was decent.. Pork fried rice was really good lots of pork chunks in it.. Mongolian beef was the best thing we had.. Orange chicken was disappointing.. General chicken tasted almost like the orange chicken.. Sweet and sour pork same as everywhere else.. Chowmein was soft and kinda moist.. The cream cheese won tons were really good. I ordered takeout the other day- just some orange chicken, chicken chow mein and steamed rice. The food was good but what impressed me was the little extra touches- they included a giant bag of fried wonton chips, a sweet and sour dipping cup, and along with the standard soy sauce and fortune cookies, a bag of tea! I was so pleasantly surprised when I noticed the tea bag a day later I felt compelled to write a review. The orange chicken had a great flavor and was on their chef specialties list. So next time I will be ordering something else from the chef specials.

Im surprised to see so many good reviews about the food. Love the huge portion sizes but I thought it wasnt very flavorful at all. We got food for pick up, and if I didnt know any better I would say it were leftovers from a different night heated up. I ate just a little and decided to make myself something else at home. We have been going to the Rose Garden restaurant for over 10 years. This is my familys favorite restaurant. The staff is very personable, they always remember us, ask how our family is, remember our favorite dishes. The food is consistently very delicious, they serve it family style so we like to get a few different dishes so we can have lots of leftovers to bring home and eat the next day. The prices are not bad either for the quality of the food, and there is never much of a wait to be seated. If I ever have to go to another Chinese restaurant I cant help but compare them to the Rose Garden and always end up saying not as good as the Rose Garden. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.

Pretty good food here, all basic dishes that are available in most USA Chinese restaurants. Excellent service and great help to make the food exactly how youd prefer. You dont want a combinations fried rice-- theyre happy to substitute white rice. A szechuan style meal is too spicy-- theyre happy to tune it down. In a small shopping center, off to the right of the supermarket.

Check the yelp reviews as it has 117 reviews at 4 stars. I ordered Sesame Chicken and I must say it was delicious. The sauce was very different than most other Chinese Restaurants but, I must say that I preferred it. It was a very light, I understand the irony here, compared to most that I have had. What really sets this place a part is their quality of chicken. it is white meat only, prepared well, and not over cooked.

Very disappointing. I decided to give them a try and got their Tofu with vegetables lunch plate to-go, since Im a vegetarian. The tofu was dry, fibrous, and chewy. The veggies were meh. It came with soup, but both had meat in it - with no substitutons - so I didnt get it. It also came with tea - but they told me they could only give me the tea bag without any water. The manager then told me that I could drink the tea there; so I sat down at the table and began to taste my food. Someone brought me some tea and I began to eat my lunch. The manager came over a few minutes later to tell me that I needed to leave because it wasnt fair to the other customers. They didnt even give me a napkin . These people would benefit from taking a course in restaurant hospitality. Very bad manners and poor social skills. If youre a vegetarian, dont waste your time here.

Ugh! Pains me to write this review but I am so irritated and disappointed. I have been coming to this restaurant since 1999 and it was always a favorite of mine. I moved out of the area and would still come into support. Recently, I returned to my office in Roseville. I remembered they had a lunch special consisting of rice or chow main and an entree for reduced lunch price. I had it last week and it was fine.Today I have no idea what happened. I told the gal on the phone (they only do to go orders) that I want the lunch special of Pork chow mein and orange chicken. I ordered the exact same way last week. I even said lunch special more than once. I said not single orders lunch special - I could tell she didnt understand. Today I get there and they have it as family portions not lunch. I told the lady at the cashier who is the owner - sorry but I ordered lunch special. The other lady started arguing with me basically calling me a liar when I must have said lunch special at least 4 times. Then said (the one arguing) we dont do lunch specials for chow mein. So I asked her to explain how I ordered the exactly same meal last Friday. The other lady took it and said no problem let me fix it and she did which I so appreciate. I was getting ready to walk out the door which she could probably tell.There is literally a Panda Express down the street from my office.So get to work and open the hot and sour soup which comes with the lunch special. It was so fatty! I have had it before with some fat but it almost all fat. Cant help but feel like I was being punished for asking them to change my order to how I originally ordered.I definitely will not come back for lunch. As far as Dinner, Im not sure. Being a 20 year plus customer should have prompted the owner Patty is who knows me well to stop the other lady from basically yelling at me. Very disappointed

I get tired of eating the same things year after year.To make a Chefs Special Menu is cheap, there is only one for each menu type, in the entire restaurant; unless they become popular.Vegetarian Chinese entrees rarely offered:1) Veggie dumplings with pad thai sauce2) Veggie deep fried balls3) Tofu with minced ginger on a bed of fried finely chopped cauliflower4) ... so many to listSo many options for vegetarian entrees, hardly ever get on the menu. Having a Chefs Special menu specific to the type of customer would be nice. These menus would have a $5 extra charge for each ordered item. The price for each item would be comparable to the prices on the normal menu.Types of customer:1) Meat only, no rice or other vegetables2) Vegetarian, entrees not found elsewhere3) Mens health, Eastern medicine entrees4) Womens health, Eastern Medicine entrees5) Weight loss, meals below 500 calories6) Gluten free, entrees free of gluten7) Brain building meals8) ...Contact me if you want related entree ideas.Simply include with the main menu, a flyer that lists the other menus available.Every time anyone orders from an alternate menu, its like having the profit of another customer, without much of any added effort. We come to Rose Garden fairly frequently maybe once every other month because its great for our family and it tastes awesome. I cant remember disliking any of the dishes weve tried. And the quantity of food they give you is perfect. We usually get a family meal and split with us and the kids and still have leftovers for the same price if not less than we spend other places with no leftovers. I also want to mention that the pictures currently associated to this restaurant are for the wrong place and the review that went along with it probably arent intended for this place. I included pictures of my kids there this evening to show that its not the same place. This is a sit down restaurant. We also live ordering to go orders from here which I dont think we are the only ones as there are usually multiple other people coming in for the same thing.

Very disappointed! I called and ordered Wonton Noodle Soup for lunch. I arrived and decided to eat there instead. I was told that my soup was already bagged up and if I wanted to eat it there then I have to take it out of the bag, find a table and eat! How unprofessional is that? It would have taken all of two minutes to put my soup in a bowl! I left the bag sitting right there on the counter and walked out! Poor service!

Really great food. I’ve had the Szechuan chicken, Mongolian beef, and sesame chicken and they have all been excellent with great ingredients. My favorite is the Szechuan chicken because it has a lot of great fresh vegetables with the perfect amount of sauce and seasoning. The lunch special is a really great deal since you get it with their delicious soup, fried wonton, and pork fried rice. I regretfully have to give 1 star. We ordered cream cheese wontons and three entrees for dinner. The food tasted great as usual; however, the service was slow and the waiters were short with us and impolite. But what is most troubling is that two out of the three in our party got food poisoning!! After a rough night and day of vomiting and so forth we called in to inform them of what happened. Their response was that we just had a cold and there was no way it was their food. They offered a free entree if we came in again but overall just refused to take any responsibility for what happened. I can only hope that others didnt have to go through the same!

Last night a place about a $35 order. The chow mein was so runny it did not taste good at all. I called and asked to talk to the manager some lady answered the phone and told me that is how it comes sometimes if I shall order it again I should ask them not to make it so runny. I explained to her it was nasty and it never tasted this way before she said again next time I order I should ask that it not be so runny. Would definitely eat from there again when in town.My wife and I were ordering take out for a group of five adults on a Thursday evening at about 6:10pm. We went inside and were quickly greeted and asked if we were picking up or placing an order. There was a small group of people already there waiting to pick up their food or place orders as well, and there were patches of people scattered throughout the restaurant eating at tables already. We stated that we wanted to place our order and went through a previously marked up menu (we pre-determined our order) and quickly named the 7 or 8 items that we wanted. The total came to $78. We were told they would need 20-30 minutes to cook everything, so we went for a brief walk.When we returned, more people had been sat at tables the restaurant was buzzing, plus there were different people coming in to place orders to go or pick up. We didnt see many servers or staff, so I imagine it must be a challenge to keep up with the flow, but they seemed to be doing pretty well. A few minutes of additional waiting and our box of food (yes, box) was handed to us. It was full.When we arrived home a bit later, the food was still pretty warm. There were a couple of very large containers of white rice, a bunch of fried wonton bits, two cups of sweet and sour sauce, and other extras. Here is what we got:Beef and Broccoli - Nice thin slices of steak, lean (not fatty at all), in a tasty brown sauce with lots of well cooked broccoli. Firm, but not hard. Excellent.Kung Pao Chicken - Not the normal kung pao. This had a bunch of zucchini, baby corn, and other veggies, along with the red peppers and nuts. The chicken was all white meat, super tender and tasty. Again, surprisingly good quality and their spin worked very well.Spicy Garlic Prawns - A good amount of decent sized shrimp in a pool of garlic sauce with a bunch of julienne vegetables and sliced mushrooms. The shrimp to veggie ratio could have been higher, but it was still good and pretty ample.Garlic Grean Beans - A classic. Nice al dente green beans in a garlic sauce. Simple, but well executed.Orange Chicken - I didnt try this, but the feedback I got was that the meat was a little dry, but it was still pretty tasty.Sesame Chicken - Didnt try this either, but the other guests really enjoyed it.Vegetable Chow Mein - Well textured noodles with a variety of cooked vegetables. Not pan-fried/crispy, but good and effectively complementing of the other dishes.For the five of us, there were a lot of leftovers, and I went for three plates of food myself. A great value. Well very likely be eating from here again.
