Great atmosphere with this Old 1942s sunken down Bar! With the great view of the bay and unbelievable sunset! I would have gave five stars on the food, but my clam chowder was not completely hot and the salad plate was warm. The Beer was good and cold and the bartenders were unbelievable, fun and friendly! Definitely will be back, nothing like sitting at this old 1942s Bar and thinking about all the people that have sat here and ate and had cocktails here throughout all these years! Imagine all the conversations here in 1942 as World War II was going on!

We came here last night for my wife’s birthday after trying out the Siren in Morro Bay. Let’s just say Rose’s saved the night. The service was great, food terrific, and a peaceful ambiance. The drinks were great as well. I highly recommend this place.

Great atmosphere, servers were very nice, and the food came fast which was great because part of our group came later but they didnt end up getting left out. I loved my fish n chips, the filet fell apart beautifully, and my mom was raving about the tacos she got she loved them so much. We come through for all sorts of family events so well definitely be back sometime!

Excellent service, food, drinks, and view! We ordered clam chowder, coconut prawns, Alaskan Salmon, linguine with clams, and vanilla/coconut rum drinks that were mixed perfectly. Add on a table overlooking Moro bay and youve got a great dinner experience.

We wanted to try this place, but it was pretty busy. 30 minute wait. So we asked the gentleman at the door if there was a bar we could sit at and he said yes and thus is how our evening began. Met some wonderful people and Jack our bartender was amazing. Didnt try the food.

We started off with a clam chowder bread bowl and added cheese since it already came with bacon. Super good! Honey and I shared that as our appetizer. We followed up with our entrees. Honey got prawns & chips. I got the fettuccine chicken pasta and added broccoli which was so creamy. Just Wow tbh!! Really enjoyed all our food overall! 😋✅ Will be returning for sure!

Been here several times in the past when visiting Morro Bay! One of my favorite places for sure their food is delicious!! The Clam Chowder is one of the best in town. This visit I had the Fish Tacos and my husband had the Chicken Strips, both didnt disappoint! And sitting out in the covered patio enjoying the view, makes it a perfect spot for lunch or dinner!

One of the better restaurants along the Morro Bay pier. Prompt and friendly service, lots of menu choices, tasty food, awesome ocean view. The drinks were pretty good, but the margaritas were VERY salty (in the actual drink, not just the glass rim). Ask for light salt if you order one. Sea otters cavorting in the water right in front of us!

Servers were friendly and atmosphere laid back. Chose to eat indoors although outdoor dining was available. We were there for a late lunch, early dinner. My husband had salmon, mashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables. I had lobster and shrimp tacos with beans and rice. We started off with clam chowder in a bread bowl. All were good size helpings and we were glad we had walked to the restaurant so we could walk some of our dinner off as we were so full. It was enjoyable and we will do it again.

Absolutely delicious. Friendly staff and ambiance. We loved watching the pelicans dive for the seals leftovers. It was a beautiful setting. The oysters were delicious. The Cobb salad was perfect. And the Ahi tuna tacos were the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended

Crappiest food I’ve ever had in my life!Ordered the surf n turf burrito and it tasted disgusting. They use shredded beef instead of grilled and it smelt very bad since it had zero seasoning and 2 pieces of shrimp.I couldn’t take more than a couple of bites before actually throwing up.Their sea food platter is just a bunch of frozen stuff which they deep fry and give you and charge $24 for it!!!!!Drinks are the only things which are good and reasonably priced.Avoid at all costs and take your money elsewhere.Staff is extremely nice though.

This was an awesome place we happened upon! Great vibes and relaxed environment to celebrate my birthday. The crab was absolutely amazing but next time will definitely share it between 2 people, very generous portions. Fish tacos were tastey. Had a few drinks and watched the football game. Gave me some free delicious pecan ice cream for my birthday. Would stop and eat here again if we are ever in Morro Bay again!

Me and my family dined here on Wednesday afternoon after spending the day at Hearst castle we decided to head to Morro rock we stopped in for some clams and fish and chips and a couple soft drinks I think the total bill was 40 some odd dollars. The waiter helped himself to a 25 dollar tip. I mean it was slow that day. He never refilled our drinks and never asked how our food was and even disappeared. We will be calling the establishment to make this behavior known and disputed the charges. He didn’t even deserve 5 dollars so beware if you’re on a day trip or short stay they will rip you off on a tip because they’re slow and the waiters think they’re owed cause they’re poor.

Marcelo looked after us and was very kind and accommodating. The food was exactly as we ordered and was ready very quickly. The walls are covered with sports memorabilia and it seems like a great place to watch a game. Outside seating was limited to just a few small high tops off to the side of the bar, but the windows looking over the water are big. They have a kids friendly menu.

Im celiac, so we came for the gluten freeclam chowder. It was not good. It had globs of cornstarch (?) and very little clam, and there was no finesse in the cutting of the veg- large chunks of potato the size of 2 craps dice. It didnt seem fresh. I couldnt finish it.Eat inside by the window. The view is nice. Outside, the floor is lower and the chairs are low, so you mainly have the railing outside blocking your view and its just not as nice of a vibe out there.My husbands food was deep fried and tasted like Bar fare for drunk people who do t have tastebuds.The service was good, except they dont clear away your dirty dishes before bringing the check.

Hidden gem with a great view of Morro Rock. Poke bowl was so fresh and full of flavor, Cadillac margarita was nice and strong, friendly service and not too crowded. The small outdoor patio is a great spot for an unobstructed view of the bay.

The food was great. Our service was not great. Items were forgotten. We were over charged. When we told our server he never apologized or offered to correct the issue. The restrooms were dirty and out of paper towels. They were asked several times to refill the towels. We were there for almost 2 hours and the restroom was never attended. Our table was dirty when we were sat. Our appetizers never came.....It was not great. They used to be one of my favorites.

I have been going to this place since I was a child. Always love the clam chowder and garlic fries. I took my friend to try it. Sign said self seating, so we sat on the patio. The waitress walked passed us multiple times and never said anything. Another couple sits behind us and she instantly takes them menus and provides service for them, still ignoring us. Another waitress inside standing around, clearly not busy withstand never came out to help us. We walked out, so disappointed and honestly confused as to why were just ignored. How do you not want business?! Specially on a slow day!

One complaint though is outdoor seating is extremely close together and bolted down so be warned unless they change it, you will be bumping elbows with people. I have no idea how this place has 4+ stars..... My only positive from the night is that the view is amazing!The cocktails were watered down and weak, I got the Kobe beef burger which sounded amazing but they cooked it TO DEATH. The meat tasted worse then the premade frozen Costco burgers. My wife got the Ahi tostadas that were supposed to be the best thing on the menu and the ahi was so fatty and tough that she didnt eat the fish part.The service was mediocre, they were friendly but not knowledgeable on the menu or the alcohol they had.

My husband and I were in Morro Bay today and decided to have lunch. We chose Roses Bar and Grill as we have eaten here before.The Restaurant was easy to find and very near the Free parking lot. We had our choice of inside seating and chose to sit looking out towards the bay.We put in our drink orders and looked over the menu. Clam chowder was our first choice. We each ordered a cup of chowder. It was thick and full of large clam pieces and chunky potatoes. It was very creamy and had bacon and pepper flavors in it. Very good to the last spoonfuls!My husband ordered the fish and chips. 3 big pieces of golden fried fish and lots of fries. There was also lemon and lots of tarter sauce for this delicious meal.I ordered the fried clams and chips with extra seafood sauce. The clams were lightly fried and absolutely the best tasting clams I have had in a very long time. I only ate a few fries as I wanted to save room for the clams, but the fries were hot and crispy. So good!We really enjoyed our lunch at Roses Bar and Grill and hope to return the next time we pass through Morrow Bay.

The food here is AMAZING. Try the garlic fries! Hubby and I shared a combo plate (I’m a light eater). The shrimp were large and tender. The batter was amazing. The cocktail sauce was made in house and had a great flavor. The server Olivia was so sweet and was always smiling. She was patient with our convo and made the experience even better. She’s a great people-person. This is now our favorite spot in Morro Bay. Can’t wait to go back.

So, to be fair, we were here the night before Thanksgiving. They could have been short staffed. We stayed here four nights. Morro Bay is awesome. We came downstairs to Roses Bar and Grill for a bite and a drink. Very busy. The clam chowder was very very thick. Think of biscuits and gravy. The taste was good. We went to have a snack and something to drink before we went to the movies we had the nachos they were delicious and the garlic parmesan fries both were wonderful. They werent very busy when we got there but we didnt receive very good service. Our food was brought to us quickly but we were not given utensils or napkins after waiting for awhile one of us had to go hunt down a server and ask for them. No one came by for drink refills until we were ready to leave.

We had a bad experience. We opted for take out - fish & chips and Cabo tacos. After waiting a while we received our order and walked back to our hotel to discover we were given someone elses order. Called to hopefully have a corrected order prepared. However we were told our order was waiting for us. So we walked back down, returned our food, and got our order. By the time we ate this old food, our fried orders were pretty awful. Our advice is to not order take out. Having said that, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere inside and a wonderful view of the bay. It is probably best to dine in here.

Set off back a bit off the main walkway, via a shared tunnel/walkway for the hotel, this choose any seat establishment offers ocean view indoor seating or outdoor, ocean view patio seating. Ordered the peppered ahi tuna, two (2) muscles, and cup of clam chowder. Everything was exceptionally and very well priced for a beachfront restaurant. Ended up with the fish and chips as the main course, the batter was delicious, perfectly cooked and appropriately thick. The fish was moist, flanky and tasty. All in all, if I had to find a complaint the ahi tuna was a bit thickly sliced. Highly, highly, reccomend!!

There is some parking available right outside the restaurant but youd be better off parking in the main parking area and walking to it. Food was good and server was quick with drinks. I had the mahi fish tacos with beans and rice. They came with a substantial amount of fish and cabbage, which could definitely be cut back. The taco sauce was a yummy addition and the beans and rice were well seasoned and the perfect temperature.Only four stars because it was good, not great. But not a bad option at all when youre in the area and other better known restaurants are closed.

Ive always loved Roses, serves fresh food, always just as good as the first time you have it if not better. I highly ecommend going to this spot on your next visit and I can assure you, you wont be disappointed. Roses had some of the better prices for a beachfront restaurant, especially when compared to its neigboring restaurants. We were able to watch the sunset from a heated patio located on the water, the food as mentioned was pretty affordable, the wait time was not long considering it was mothers day (however your experience may differ) and above all, the food was great, as someone who actually doesnt particularly enjoy seafood I was pleasantly suprised to find myself enjoying the popular seafood dishes.-Their fish n chips had great breading coating a cooked to perfection fish that essentially melted in my mouth the portion size was large and the 3 peice was more than enough to satisfy my hunger from walking and driving all day. -The clam chowder (although a small portion size) was a great consistency, and seemed to be enjoyed, but with the smaller portion size, the enjoyment was short lived.-The house salad was huge and could satisfy most peoples appetite alone, and for the price it cant be beat.-The bay shrimp coctail (one of my personal favorite items to order from beach front resteraunts) was a light meal in itself however there could have been more coctail sauce in my opinion.This is a long reveiw because it is one of the few five star ratings I have given and its simply because this place has been overlooked by me for ages and since our go to spot was closed, we decided to try it. When you arrive its not clear where you check in for a table. With several people coming from different entrances the host never knew who was next to put them on the waiting list. Really busy but waited 10-15 to get seated. Food was very good and they have a good selection of drinks on tap. Service was good just a little too loud when we first arrived since it was really busy. Im new to the area, was checking out Morro Bay on a Saturday afternoon. I wanted to go to the hofbrau on friends recommendation but its closed for construction. How many times do you get fries at a restaurant and theyre warm, floppy, been sitting under a lamp? I would recommend this place for the fires alone. This place is great! Food is awesome and came in a timely manner. The place is clean and family friendly, the staff is great. The view is breath taking. My family and I are happy with full bellies. Thank you Roses bar and grill.

This is absolutely the BEST place to eat in Morro Bay!! Not only is the food FANTASTIC, but the ambience is SUPERB and the waitresses, waiters & bartenders are totally OFF-THE-HOOK AWESOME! My favorite waitress is Christine because she is not only a beautiful woman (and a brand new young grandma of a precious princess granddaughter!), but she is SUPER-FRIENDLY and loves to laugh, joke, and talk with you & gives you the BEST recommendations on food & bar drinks!!!! My daughter & I had the crab dinner & we were so surprised at how much crab they give you - - we could not even eat it all - - and we seriously tried!! EXCELLENT VIEW of the Bay & the Rock!! BEST PLACE EVER!!! We will definitely return here to eat & enjoy the friendly people who work there!! LOVE YOU, CHRISTINE!! Go COWBOYS!! ^_^

Food was really good. Serve staff was great. Host was a d-bag. We had a large group and he didnt seem to want to deal with us so kept seating people in front of us. We finally just started seating ourselves at tables as they came available.

I dont know how this restaurant has so many good reviews. First trying to get seated then being tod where to stand and wait for someone. There was no hostess so the servers juggled everything. The food was just blah. I had fish and chips were the smallest Ive ever received. Oddly everyone that had the fish had the exact same shape and size rectangles. It was so disappointing

Best quality of this place is the gorgeous view. Thats where the good ends. As I begrudgingly hand over my credit card, I cant help but attempt to get the taste of their many day old, twice frozen ahi steak. Tasted absolutely disgusting. Not only was the flavor and quality of the fish supremely sub par, as nice as our waiter was, I also did not appreciate the lack of communication between the waiters, as my complaint was not relayed to our server. Apparently their fish and chips are good, but if a restaraunt can only do one dish correctly, and then they do not deserve to be called a restaurant. A refund would have been the least they could do for the wasted time and my incredibly nauseous stomach.

Very clean nice atmosphere waiter very attentive. Tried the onion rings they were the best .My husband had a long Island tea it was the best !Definitely will be back for drinks and dinner .
