Came here for a late lunch on our way back from Malibu. We sat outside which gives you a view of the street while enjoying some fresh air. The bruschetta came with some cheese and arugula which was a nice touch.I ordered the caprese sandwich and unfortunately it was drier and blander than I would have preferred. Next time, I would order something else off the menu.

Went here for the first time. Very delicious! The environment is nice! They have outdoor sitting or inside. There is easy parking in the back of building. Jordana was our waiter and she made the experience fun! She was polite, professional and very attentive! The food was delicious. Very fresh! Will definitely come here again

Very okay restaurant. We got the chicken ragu and pasta di mare. Chicken ragu was good but nothing crazy- i would get the beef ragu if I went again. The pasta di Mare with the white wine was also okay but again, nothing crazy. Our server was a bit awkward as well because she thought I was underage and wanted to order wine and she snatched the drinks menu out of my hands along with the desert menu. I am 24 and I was just reading the wine menu with no intent of getting anything. ( I do look pretty young but I am pretty sure I would be allowed to read a drinks menu even if I was 12)

Wonderful place to eat at if you happen to find yourself strolling down Montana Ave in Santa Monica. Between the wonderful weather and delicious food it makes for a great time. Amazing and quick service. As for the food i was greatly pleased! The only bad critique i have is the marinara sauce (not pictured) that comes with the calamari, it was very soup like(low key giving tomato soup vibes), it lacked the thickness of a dipping sauce BUT nonetheless still good. I ordered the blackened chicken Caesar sandwich and chiiiiile the chicken was so juicy and seasoned to perfection. Everything tasted so fresh! My sister ordered the half pound rosti cheeseburger which looked delicious she did state “ for it to be a well done burger it’s still juicy and flavorful, it doesn’t taste dry at all”Of course i had to order me a drink, i kept it classy with Prosecco & i love how it comes in a small individual bottle vs it being poured from a larger bottle.We ordered the pollo al mattone(drumsticks) for my nephew unfortunately he didn’t seem to enjoy the drumsticks as much but he was able to eat the fries. Btw the fries y u m m y you can taste the rosemary sea salt and I’m guessing a drizzle of olive oil.all in all this place is delicious and a heavy recommendation to eat at, the only downside honestly would be finding parking if their parking lot is full, but even then that was not much of an issue

A huge menu with lots of choices, we had soup, pizza, pasta, salad, and their famous bricked chicken. Desserts also delicious, particularly the lemon bars. Great wine selection, not much beer and only in cans. A bit busy so we waited longer than expected for our food, but the staff was very apologetic and helpful.

Our waitress was lovely, but that was the only redeeming part of this dinner. The “panini” was a cold sandwich with toasted bread (not panini style - the cheese was literally not even melted and the bread was rock solid). And on top of that, dinner was sixty dollars for two sandwiches and two sodas. I never leave bad reviews but I couldn’t in good faith not warn people about this restaurant — we were so disappointed.

I didn’t want to post a review because the staff was nice. But this was the worst pasta dish I’ve had. The drunken shrimp linguine was like a bland cheesy oil soup. I’ve never had pasta just drowning in oil. And I usually love olive oil. Everyone there seemed quite content though so maybe it was a bad batch. To each their own. The desert was nice.

We had a very bad experience at the restaurant. The hostess didnt greet us properly; instead, they just handed us the menu and pointed to our table.After we were seated, we waited for about 20 minutes, but no one came to take our order. We noticed the staff engaging in random conversations with customers at other tables, neglecting our needs.Frustrated by the lack of attention, we decided to leave and went to Spumoni, a few blocks away, where we enjoyed better food and received excellent service.

Great place for lunch and reasonably priced. The bread we were served was warm and fresh, delicious! The spaghetti with white wine sauce was good, nothing special. I did quite enjoy the creme brûlée cheesecake however. Fast and friendly service from waiter and nice location makes this a great casual place to eat if you’re in Santa Monica.

Excellent food and service. Large menu and also a large gluten-free menu. Good wine list. Parking is right next to the restaurant. In Santa Monica, that is not always common. Staff is very friendly, and they have a good-sized outdoor summer eating area in addition to the inside of the restaurant.

I’ve seen this place many times and decided to give it a try. We asked for a table for two and were seated pretty quickly. The place was half full, but no one ever came to our table. The waiters were not even serving other tables but rather were having casual conversations with other customers. We waited for 20 minutes and left. The hostess didnt even bother to ask us why we were leaving.

Nice place but the server did not check on us not even once, I had to flag him down to ask for salt/pepper, again to ask for more bread (twice), once more to ask for parmesan cheese and finally again to ask for the bill (got tired of waiting).I ordered spaghetti with beef meatballs..The pasta was overcooked (too soft), the meatballs (five of them) the meat was minced, it did not taste good, and the overall temperature of the food was lukewarm.The portion however was generous.Cant get more basic than spaghetti with meatballs.Sorry, but I will not be returning.

Neighborhood Italian joint on Montana Ave. I like taking friends who are visiting to this restaurant because it’s reasonable compared to other options on the street and I like the pizzas. Most recently came here on a Monday night around 7pm with my sister and got seated immediately. The place is also bustling and sometimes there’s a bit of a wait. There’s indoor and outdoor seating (with heaters) and you can have dogs outdoors. They give you complimentary bread with olive oil and basalmic, but I suggest saving room for your food. Be patient as service is slow and the food will take about 20-30 min to come out, but it’s byob and there’s a chill atmosphere. The Bad Leroy Brown pie is heavily laden with meat and the large can feed 2-3 with leftovers to spare. The pink sauce pasta is a bit overrated but I also do like the Bleecker St pie. There’s a gender neutral bathroom in the back, street parking along Montana, no free WiFi, and they do accept credit cards. They do takeout and delivery as well. Overall it’s a chill spot that’s family friendly and not at all pretentious.

I hate writing bad reviews, but Id be doing the community a disservice if I only review the good places.The good- they were able to accommodate our large party on the same day so that was appreciated. Parking was a non issue in back of the restaurant. Portions are HUGE.. like 4 ppl could share a salad and the chicken Parm and be full - very budget friendly! The Chianti was great and the salad we had was delicious and also would have easily served 4-6 of us. My partner and I usually share a couple of plates for variety, but this was too much food. Our family that had the pizza and clam linguine liked both dishes.The Bad- the portions were too big! I know, I know... I listed is as good as well for those who want to share or want lefties, but we we were traveling with nowhere to store leftovers. Had we known how big the salad was, we wouldve gotten something else, I hate wasting food and not 1 of the 10 in our party came close to finishing. It would have been nice if the server had warned us of how large the salad (a HUGE BOWL) was after we told her we were sharing. We shared the surf and turf. It was supposed to come with a ribeye, but they were out of ribeyes so we subbed a filet. The entire plate of food was lukewarm from the cauliflower to the the filet, which was cooked well, but chewed like leather and had no seasoning. We considered that it was not actually tenderloin but something else. The shrimp was supposedly cooked in a garlic sauce which was undetectable, lacked seasoning, flavor, and was undercooked and also not warm, the spinach tasted like it came out of a can and the roasted cauliflower was awful, like it had seasoning salt and nothing else. Which was super disappointing because making roasted cauliflower takes nothing more than a bit of EVOO, balsamic, salt and pepper. I tasted my sisters mushroom side and garlic mash... the mushrooms had no seasoning and tasted like they came from a can and the garlic mash was meh. Did I mention everything lacked seasoning.The service also left much to be desired. She dropped one wine menu for a table of 10. Thanks. When asking about dishes she looked like she didnt want to be bothered. I didnt read about the choice of sides so when she asked which sides, I was unprepared. When I asked what our choices were, she pointed us to the menu - which I thought was lame... she could have told us the items or recommended her favs, but then I saw that there are 14 sides to which I thought... how can you do 14 sides well - eeesh. The answer: YOU CANT. The place could probably be good with a bit of training of staff, culling of the menu, and reducing the size of the portions - but who knows.. Maybe they do well enough not to change.Theres so many good restaurants in that area, theres no way I, or anyone else in my party would ever consider going back or recommending. Sorry.

I dont understand why this restaurant has so many good reviews.When a restaurant has a big menu... makes me feel suspicious. Its impossible to have good quality in the food if everything is frozen and Is frozen because is imposible for a restaurant to do every day such a different amount of food.The Italian pizza was horrible and the chicken Milanese same.The service was too slow. We waited around 40 minutes and there were just 5 tables more...The only think I liked about going to this restaurant was the good weather and the great area where the restaurant is located.

Ooh, this place got good.Theyve got a real chef. Or maybe Im just spending more. Ive been getting the fish entrees, all around $25 with a couple of sides, and all great. Im crazy about the wild red snapper with pink mushroom sauce but it has bones. You might be able to get that sauce on the salmon. I have and it was pretty great. The pic is the salmon Tuscan style, covered in olives, artichoke hearts and tomatoes. What a meal!

On a cool March evening in Santa Monica my wife and I, hungry for a meal after replacement car shopping, came upon a small slice of Tuscan heaven called Rosti.An Italian Kitchen, manned by relaxed, hard working people that understand that serving meals to you is more than just sustenance, Its people relating to you, talking and joking with you and overall, making you feel like mamma is calling all the shots in the kitchen insuring that, not only will you eat well, youll have a good time doing it.Even though the place is in a little disarray, it cant escape its comfort and charm.The managers friendly smile and comfortable demeanor truly round out the overall experience here, as if to say, Youre gonna go home happy no matter what you do. My wife had the Chicken Parmesan and as you can see it was a tiny portion.... Yeah... RIGHT! I had Fettuccine with sun dried tomatoes in a spicy pink sauce topped with cajun blackened chicken. I still dream about it. Afterwards on the managers suggestion, we split the home made Tiramisu dessert. The best Ive ever had. We went home with to go boxes, full bellies and a wonderful memory of a quaint little Tuscan restaurant.......called Rosti............ Stay Gold...

I hadnt been here since Covid. I went to Rosti today for lunch and it was delightful. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area with a view of the trendy Montana Avenue. Our champagne was chilled, salmon entree was cooked to perfection and they even serve squash spaghetti. The menu is huge and great for vegetarians and pescatarians like me. Cant wait to go back for dinner.

Love the food here. We order the Supreme (Italiano I think its called) for take out and it never disappoints. The cafe is always packed so we eat at home but the vibe is so nice.They have indoor and outdoor and the pasta is great too.Pizza here is huge and feeds 5-6 people unless you have hungry relatives then it feed 2-3 people.

I really wanted to like this place because of all of the gluten free options, but the pasta was not good. The sauce even worse. The kitchen was playing music really loud which kinda killed the vibe and the service was slow and inattentive. I asked the waitress a few questions like, “what’s the white wine sauce like?” And she just said, “I’m not sure” and Our drinks were bell refilled, despite asking. The only saving grace was that the gluten free pizza had good crust and flavor.

I was visiting my friend in California last year when she suggested this restaurant. I was against the idea at first thinking they wouldn’t have great Italian food being from NY. We were group of 4, I personally orded the famous half chicken the food didnt taste like anything. No taste at all, had to ask for lots of salt and pepper. Got the garlic mashed potato for the side there was no garlic at all. Same exact opinion with the other 3 people who were with me. We also ordered a calamari for an appetizer and you pretty much dont get any meat you got all calarmi legs that you cant even eat because its disgusting. Never again I really dont know why it has good reviews.

Excellent food! My boyfriend ordered chicken lasagna, and I had the drunken shrimp linguine with pink vodka sauce. The shrimp was succulent, the linguine was perfectly al dente, and the pink vodka sauce added a somewhat spicy touch. The reason Im giving Rosti only four stars instead of five: distressingly slow service. From the time our waitress took our order, it took an hour and a half to receive our dinner, and the restaurant wasnt particularly crowded at the time. We noticed other customers were waiting a long time, as well. Thats unfortunate, since the food at Rosti is so good.

The food is fresh, high quality and they don’t mind customizing orders for you or making/modifying dishes if they have the ingredients. I love to support the local restaurant community, but feel obligated to share my poor experience at Rosti Santa Monica. I had dinner here last weekend with a group of friends. We ordered a variety of pasta dishes (pesto, shrimp linguini, tortellini with truffle oil). We all started to feel sick after dinner and a few of us were physically ill. Two of us also found mold on the bread. I believe we all got food poisoning from the meal. We had half of our dishes left and had to throw it out. Food quality aside, the service and atmosphere were completely fine, however, I would still not recommend Rosti.

I had a fabulous Salami and pepperoni sandwich which featured good bread and my friend had Salmon and pasta which he thought was well made. Also, our lovely waitress INGA was very attentive to our demanding needs and she had a FANTASTIC ATTITUDE and was ultra friendly and so sweet with me. HAD TO ALTER REVIEW. last time visited here, pizza had no sauce (thats what happens when you have no real Italians in the kitchen and you have others working there) so my friend and I asked for a side of marinara sauce. Not only was the sauce like water but I was charged the additional fee for the little bit of sauce. Thats like getting charged an extra $3 for an extra pickle. Definitely wont be coming back here again. Getting charged like that, by the owners, thats just what you called gouging.

We live in Santa Monica and we call this place our second kitchen. The staff is awesome and the food is the best for the price. However the best kept secret is that you can bring your own wine and beer and there is no corking fee. If you are from out of town try it and order my specialty pizza:no tomato sauce, pesto, artichoke, mushrooms, caramelized onion and arugula on the top. This place is a little BYOB Italian restaurant nestled on Montana avenue in Santa Monica. The staff is extremely nice and attentive and you get family owned vibes from it. But the flavor was really good and the sauce tested lovely. Also the menu is HUGE and usually turns me off because I like a menu that specializes in something vs generalizes in it all. Rosti has to be taken in context for what it is. Its a small chain of dine in and take out style restaurants. Dont think its an Italian restaurant per say. Its Italian food in a cafe setting. If thats what youre looking for, youll like it. Its loud inside and theres a lot of coming and going of customers (I mentioned that its a big take out restaurant). However, if you want good kitchen style Italian style food, its actually really good. The pizza is very good. The pastas also very good. The sandwiches are tasty. Theyre known for their rotisserie chicken which you can get but it also serves as the meat foundation for sandwiches, etc.Ive been eating at Rosti for about 20 years. When I lived in Brentwood, I frequented it often. Since then, Ive moved away but frequently come back to the Santa Monica location and it stays true to form with consistent great food for both lunch and diner. My favorite is their pizza. Start there or with the chicken as its good stuff...On a parting note, you would think that its not really a wait table place but it is and the service is very good with attentive staff that arent overbearing.
