Without question, the best Chinese restaurant in Sonoma County. If you dont believe then just go there. Order anything. Youll see. The staff is also amazing. Very hospitable and excellent service. The remodel is also pretty impressive. Just go there. Trust me.

Everything about our visit was great, and well definitely be back. Its American or east coast Chinese food (so all the fried chicken dishes are white meat, which I love). Waiter was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. Portions large. I thought it would be dimly lit/romantic inside, but it was actually fairly bright, ah well, but still the decor is beautiful.

Ive discovered Royal China after Ive moved to the area. The restaurant is great, the full bar is not too crowded. The service is fantastic, the food is fresh and delicious. Its definitely my favorite local Chinese restaurant.

Considered some of the absolute best Chinese food in Sonoma County. We have been enjoying Royal China since they opened. They have super fresh food & are consistent with their quality.Shown are the Beef Skewers & Sampler Plate from the dinner menu. The Spicy Green Beans, sweet-and-sour pork, cashew nut prawns & Mongolian chicken are from the lunch menu.You can request the more extensive dinner menu for lunch if you like.Do not forget to ask for the Hot Mustard!

Ate at lunch time. Horrible service. Horrible, tiny portion of slapped together food. Terrible take out. So busy there is no effort at quality, or service. This was the most F U experience Ive had outside a bad night in Healdsburg. Will never go back, theres no way to erase the limp experience and terrible food with no real sincere Chinese options.Go to Hang Ah. Or anywhere else.

We have previously enjoyed the food but tonight it was literally terrible. Overcooked, soggy, flavorless, and expensive for the terrible quality. We will probably give it one last try and eat in to see if the quality is better when it isn’t take out.

We ordered take out last Sunday and while the food was okay, I wouldnt say its fabulous. My favorite Orange Chicken was a disappointment (lacking major orange favor) and Kung Pao Chicken although asked for extra spicy...it was not! The best thing we ordered was the hot and spicy soup, really good! Most of everything else was quite bland. !They have really increased prices quite a bit so that was sticker shock! I also found it difficult to see a current menu online as they dont have a website. Im attaching one and added the date. Weve been coming here for years but not sure Ill be back. I think location and convenience (and of course good food) is what draws folks to a certain place....but next time I may have to drive across town!

Nice Chinese restaurant tucked away inside one of my favorite shopping centers - love Best Day Spa for massages, and Dollar Tree for deals! Came here to celebrate my girlfriends retirement as its her favorite Chinese place to eat. Nice atmosphere, good service, clean, comfortable seating, good food and fun decor. I had Sweet and Sour chicken. Good portion and tasty!

This was the last time I will eat here.I ordered 2 dishes and some plain rice, came 40$, and the food was truly 🤢 gross.I wished i had remembered from the last time about a year ago, that thry use the worst batter to deep fry thier chicken and prawn dishes. Its thick, doughy, and not fried long enough, resulting in mushy, dough like and not at all crispy like it should be.So ate a few bites and started feeling that sick feeling in my stomach so I went back to them and said I wasn’t at all happy with what I received and that I didn’t want my money back just make me another dish that is not fried ….simple…..Not at all!! They kept giving me the runaround, saying their was not manager today etc. So this one really nice server said no problem, what would you like in place of what you had. So I ordered a non battered item, and told her that if the item was cheaper, im not desiring a refund of the difference, Just then, out of nowhere, a manager appears and stops her from doing the exchange, and was going to charge me again!! At this point I started to become disgruntled but she did not budge one bit and insisted since i already had some of one of the dishes, that she would not accept a trade out for another, so i caved and just asked if she would sub one of the dishes…..finally after much haggling and embarrassment in front of other customers, she offered another dish, a chicken and green bean dish.Well i got it home and couldn’t believe my eyes…. It was mostly ALL ouly greasy, overcooked green beans and small pieces of thin, overly sweet, chicken😔….. I know she instructed the cook to do that just to smite me.Not doing this again. I know this place gets good reviews, and has a bit fancier interior than some other Chinese, but the food is quite poor imo, Everything is so over sweet and any fried food is gross, they don’t have anything truly outstanding, and prices are generally higher than thier better competitors.Here is two that are outstanding:Ting Hau ( 4th st)Hang Ah Dim Sum (Armory Dr)These are both fresh, org ingredients and far less sugary and starchy.

Arrived last night at 5:15 pm to beat Friday night dinner rush and enjoy my birthday dinner. We were greeted and shown to a table right away. We ordered the Starter Combo appetizer, Mongolian Beef, Sweet and Sour Pork, BBQ Pork Fried Rice and Beef Chow Mein. The appetizer was a delicious start to a wonderful meal. When the entrées arrived in record time, they were scrumptious and I was in Nirvana. The. Mongolian Beef was the best I have tasted in years. PERFECTION!! 😋Thanks for a great birthday dinner 🍽.

The food smelled like burnt oil on the fried shrimp and the chicken was really doughy way too much breaded and not thoroughly cooked. Its a shame, I was here a few months ago but seems like management is driving the place into the ground.

First time here. There are many Chinese restaurants in Santa Rosa so I had not tried Royal China even though it has been here for many years. I went for lunch on a weekday and though the place was busy, nobody had to wait as a couple of tables and seats at the bar were always available. Lunch specials are varied and the included hot and sour soup is excellent. One lunch party was loud and boisterous but as soon as they left, the overall noise level dropped back down to normal though it wasnt unpleasant. Our server was very good, the decor is subdued and pleasant and I would definitely be happy to return.

Very good food, service, decor, decent prices. Theres a bar and open-ish kitchen. Medium casual for lunch, more so for dinner. Theyve expanded and seem to handle large groups easily. Dont forget to order the martini prawns and the miso broth is fantastically rich, but not heavy

This was been my favorite Chinese restaurant for years. Granted we have not eaten at or even ordered takeout much for the past year, so I was excited to order. I got my favorite lemon chicken. It was terrible! I am of sure if the oil they used was on the. Edge of going rancid, or they used something weird in the flour, but it was so bad I had to give it to the dogs after eating two little pieces. It was so tough I had to use my knife to cut the pieces I did eat. The chowmein was fine. I hope it was just an off night for the cooks. I will probably try it one more time, because they have been fairly consistent over the years.

I loved this restaurant before and ate with my family many times. I ordered once lemon chicken( it was fresh and old mixed together), after my daughter and me felt not good with stomachache. It was mild discomfort and I forgot about, several months later I ordered the same dish and felt again sick. I still loved Royal China food and said to myself I will never order lemon chicken again. Last time I was with my mom at 4:30 pm for diner, all food was reheated ( I think from the lunch) and I could not eat it. I thought I may be not hungry, I took my food to home and of course throw away next day. Never go to this restaurant again.

Really good food. Its not super-cheap, but you get a lot of food for the price. My family swears by the Egg Foo Young, but the real gem is the Orange Peel Chicken. Its leagues beyond fast food Orange Chicken, and its better than the orange chicken at all the other Chinese restaurants Ive been to. Highly recommended, and the atmosphere inside is very nice, not at all what youd expect from the outside. EDIT: Since their remodel in 2016, its even nicer!

8/2021–called in a to go order at 12:07 pm and the lady takes my order and tells me it’ll be ready in 20-25 minutes. So I get there 20 minutes later and the lady at the front desk says there’s no order in their system linked to my number so she says maybe you accidentally called another restaurant so I checked my call log and I most certainly called Royal China . Then she asked what my order was so she can look through the ready orders to see if it matches up. Nope.. they didn’t my order anywhere. So she says she can take my order and make it really quick so she puts the order in and 25 minutes later it’s ready they charge me full price no discount no comps nothing. I had people waiting for me who had to get back to work. So frustrating. While I’m on here I would also like to say that most the ladies who work here are rude and have bad customer service but the food was so good so I kept coming back. Never again….

Enjoyed a birthday dinner out with friends. We each ordered something & shared. We started with Wor Wonton Soup, Mu-Shu Pork, Walnut Prawns, Sauteed String Beans, Curry Lamb, and of course some sticky rice. Everything was wonderfully delicious as usual. Atmosphere & decor are very nice. Our server was Scotty, who is great. Hes been our server before, so much fun. We love Royal China, been customers over the years through all the changes. Always spot on. ❤️

Wasn’t bad but not the best I’ve had. Crab Wontons should not be sweet alone without a sweet n sour sauce. General Tao was battered like tempura and doesn’t travel well. And the Pot Stickers where only complete with the sauce. By themselves seems like it was missing something. But that’s being overly critical. Everything tasted wonderful. I’ll be back to try it in person when they open.

I had dinner here on Sunday, 2/26. The food was good I especially liked the chow mein. However the dining experience was unpleasant because the owner spoke to our server rudely and disrespectfully.While we were walking to our table I overheard the owner tell the server you do it all tonight. Her tone was rude. I saw what she meant. There was no busing staff to bring water. Our waiter was unflappable though and bussed our table and others.During our meal, the server left a plate at the busing station. The owner snapped at him and told him that was unacceptable. She rebuked him in front of many patrons.At the end of the meal I asked our waiter who the woman was who had been speaking with her. He told me it was the owner. I told him that he had provided excellent service and that she was speaking to him rudely.

Great food. Only complaint I have is that the pricing on their menu here is incorrect. I ordered some stuff last night from them and was thinking about the bill which I calculated was over charged. I called them up and they had explained that the pricing was incorrect and the process listed were at least few years old. Again the food and service was great and I dont mind paying little more for the quality. Just would have been nice to know correct pricing when I looked it up.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had never ordered from this place & was not aware the lunch special only had one dish so I proceeded to order two. When I was told it was one I said “oh no problem, I had never ordered from you before so I didn’t know. I will just have the one then”. The women I spoke with proceeded to very rudely tell me that I should go to Panda Express because “ we have been in business for 25 years and we don’t do that here so you should go somewhere like panda”. It was very rude and made me feel extremely unwelcome. I hung up on her and will never be eating at this establishment. I was not rude to this woman one time and did not deserve to be spoken to that way.

The food was awesome, portions were large, and the decor was beautiful. What WASN’T awesome or beautiful was being threatened by our waitress that we would be charged for a second drink when I took a sip from my husbands Coca Cola because a particular bite was too spicy. When we told our waitress to go ahead and charge us, she then only brought back one drink, but hovered around the table. Assuming we were being charged for two, I continued to drink from his, especially considering I wasn’t also brought a Coca Cola. I could look past the nasty comment, though I was extremely angry, but the hovering just tipped it over the edge. Thankfully I live nearly 20 hours away by car, because even if not, I wouldn’t be back. Good food can’t totally outweigh terrible service.

Never coming here again. The honey walnut shrimp was made out of pancake mix, very soggy and dry no flavor, shrimp fried rice wasnt even fried rice. It was steamed rice with scrambled egg and shrimp. There was no soy sauce or carrots or peas and rice was undercooked. The chowmein was so gross I couldnt even eat it. And the veggies egg rolls were skinny like a pencil and there sweet and sour sauce that came with it was watered down. The sizzling rice was probably the only thing that was good out of everything. Horrible! The fried prawn appetizers were breaded prawns, the combination chow mein was loaded with pork fat not pork, pot stickers were raw in the middle and the wonton soup smelled strongly of fish gone bad! We tossed all of it and chocked it up to a lesson not to go there in the future. Disappointing. We will drive across town where we know the chinese food itsgood.

We had a miserable experience with the lady owner as one dish was too spicy for us. We sent it back and the lady Ok...the owner came over and started getting into an argument with me about not ordering it again. She was not nice at all..if she had just said Im sorry you didnt like it everything would have been fine but she was very annoyed at us. We are currently looking for a new Chinese restaurant to go to. Warning to others..do not dislike any of their dishes!

The review is for the service and not their tasty food. I called in an order to be picked up after work. I gave them my phone number, area code first, to which I thought they understood and wrote it down correctly. At the time of the pick up, my partner was treated rudely, questioned about whether or not the phone number was actually correct and then refused to hand over the food. The workers there lacked no common sense i.e. putting together the time, the exact order and having 7/10 numbers of the phone match. They refused to get the manager to step in. And then when my partner tried placing another order, the staff member had the audacity to ask phone number please.We are long time customers here and the disrespect was enough to never return. The manager would subsequently call me and give a weak apology and did not offer to comp the meal, albeit very cold, and promised to get back to me after speaking with the owner. It is insulting to place an order, have faith it will be ready when you go, but to have it flaunted in your face and not given to you is too much to forgive.This world should be about customer service and in general being a good person. We were not treated with dignity nor did they see our value as customers. Take care and 再见

Some of the best chinese food Ive ever had. Chinese restaurants can sometimes do some things well but are weak in other areas, but Royal China has great everything. Hot and sour soup was perfect, noodles, chicken, beef and even egg rolls and other appetizers cooked to perfection. Very nice ambience inside as well. This place is pretty popular, so expect a wait during peak times...but its worth it.

Royal China is my absolute favorite week day Lunch Spot in Santa Rosa. The orange chicken is to die for. Crispy and a little spicy. Lunch specials are about $10 a plate and include soup, salad, entree, and your choice of chow mein or fried rice. The Ambiance in the restaurant is awesome and the service is fast and friendly. They are closed on Mondays. I highly recommend this delicious weekday lunch spot.

I dont care they were busy get it right or dont serve it.Ive had better frozen from the grocery store. Bartender ignored us, didnt even check on us once even though I tried to make eye contact. I ordered about $340 worth of food for a business lunch and I never received the receipt which I needed to turn in to corporate for reimbursement. When I called about getting a copy of my receipt they gave me the runaround for almost two weeks! We will call you back...well send you a picture...etc. If you have a decent POS system it should have been no problem getting a copy of a credit card receipt. In the end I never got a receipt and I had to go through my bank. I will never go to Royal China again...and thats too bad for them because I frequently need food catered for my job. Your loss! Next time take better care of your clients!

The worse customer service ever! Me and my friend were excited about trying this restaurant for the first time and we felt so unwelcomed. The moment we stepped inside the reataurant, the hostesss... receptionist whatever she was...treated us so but and talking to us while talking on the phone. She pointed put the menu on the wall qs she didnt even what to help us. She didnt welcome or say hi.My friend just grabbed me and told me to get out of there.It is so dissapointing, we wanted to try a new option because of the reviews but Im not going back to this place ever again just because of that hostess (tall, thin woman). It was around 520 pm today..didnt even had the chance to rate the food. I hope you guys have more friendly people!!

I have been a loyal customer for nearing 10 years food is consistent and always tastes good. however my last experience the service left me questioning my loyalty to this restaurant.I ordered the same thing I get every time. When the bill came with additional charges that I had not had in prior experiences, I questioned it.I spoke with the owner and we had disagreements over the charges. I paid the bill in full and went to leave -she chased me out and accuse me of not paying my bill before she checked the table and saw my payment in full. The owner made a big mis-assumption. As a customer for over many years I was highly offended and very embarrassed by the looks from other guests in the restaurant. I should like to think that this family run business cared about their clientele, but I saw no evidence of that in my imteractions. I was surprised that over three dollar question of one meal the owner was willing to lose my business and my future recommendations to others.I spend on average $350 annually dining at this restaurant. So over the course of 10 Years that 3500 in business. Now I am left with the bitter experience of being accused of ditching out on paying my bill. Shame on you!If I were standing in her shoes, I would consider the customer loyalty. I would tell the customer that I would remove the $3 charge from the bill and communicate that in future to expect the bill to have those charges included and I would thank them and hope they return again soon.

Royal China has been consistently great for the more than 15 years that Ive been going there. Superb food, a very friendly, professional staff and a beautiful interior. My ONLY gripe is that they dont offer Szechuan beef (but they do have Szechuan chicken). Their hot and sour soup is one of the best Ive ever had.

Best Chinese food in Santa Rosa or Sebastopol. We have tried every place available since Gary Chu’s closed and this is number one! Excellent quality meat and fresh produce. The spices are just perfect in the pork with green beans. The asparagus chicken and black bean sauce is to die for. If you like something a little spicy and sweet go for the orange chicken.

After going there for the first time, we regretted not getting there sooner. The menu was loaded with delicious a la carte entres, and our selections proved to be well-prepared and flavorful. Our servers, Ayu and Scott, were very attentive and quite knowledgeable about the menu items. The decor, we understand, was recently remodeled, and it was eye-popping. It is no exaggeration that this is the best Chinese restaurant in this part of Sonoma County!

I love to be pleasantly surprised by a restaurant, and my visit to Royal China for lunch today is a perfect example.We were in the area on other business and the smells outside made a visit mandatory. I was immediately impressed with the decor and atmosphere. Not the gaudy interior you come to expect in a strip mall Chinese restaurant.There was a line to be seated but a hostess and manager were hustling and apologizing for the wait immediately. We were offered the option of bar seating and accepted.Service was immediate and exceptional. Topped only by the actual food. We had lunch specials, I had the Szechuan beef and my wife had the eggplant chicken. They come with a salad and choice of soup as well as choice of chow mein or several selections of rice. The soup and salad were served almost immediately and both the wonton soup and the hot and sour were some of the best we have tasted. Our entrees were also delicious.Two lunch specials and an amazing Thai Tea for just under $26. I could not be more pleased.

The other evening we were craving Chinese food and instead of ordering take out from our neighborhood place we decided to step it up and order from Royal China. We were disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. It was not as fabulous as when we dine in. We rave about this place and recommend it to anyone who asks for suggestions. Therefore it was very disappointing to bite into the food and get bland flavor instead of the burst of delicious food we have come to expect from Royal China. I hope it was just an off night.

If you’re a drinker I recommend getting wine or beer because they have limitations on their hard liquor. I still gave them 5 stars for the fact that the food is that good and makes up for the drinks.

We walked in the place was packed she asked us if we had reservations we said no she said there was about an hour wait so would we like to eat at the bar and we said yes we ate at the bar neither one of us had ever done that before it was quite an experience the service was fabulous the place was immaculately clean and the food was amazingly good we both had orange chicken which came in a bowl long strips of chicken that has been deep-fried ever so lightly in the lightest batter that I have ever tasted and it was so tender and the orange sauce to die for and enough to feed at least four people haha and the service you could not believe the service the bartender was dedicated to each and every Patron that was at the bar you are anywhere near this place stop it and have bite because its well worth it if I could give it 10 Stars I would cant wait to go back
