I enjoyed the classic breakfast plate with eggs and potatoes, but the shakshuka was a letdown. Unfortunately, modifications aren’t allowed. The pastries were good, not exceptional. Despite the food, the vibes were nice, making it a decent spot for hanging out with friends or LA newcomers. However, the overpriced parking at $13.50 on a Saturday morning was a drawback. Overall, a solid choice with room for improvement. I’d rate it 4/5.

Our #1 dinner venue, impressive wine list, delicious food, and friendly services. Tom, our server, was patient and professional, going through in details the sharing style and recommended many dishes. What was greatly appreciated was his consideration of our appetite (ordering too much?) and timing. The sommelier is also professional, knowledgeable, and helpful considering our preferences. Every dish is a creation of dynamic flavours and contrasting texture using fresh, interesting ingredients. Baguette is delicious too (must order). Venue can get noisy. As for parking, street parking can be challenging, valet is easy ($15).

This place is beautiful, spacious, great atmosphere, and with friendly staff. Now, let’s move on to the better part of my review, their food, pastries, natural juice options and coffee are to die for. Highly recommend this spot, don’t be discouraged by the wait time in line, the only reason there’s a line is because they have an order as you check-in concept, then you go sit where you like. Amazing spot!

We went here for breakfast because my daughter wanted to give it a try. We got up early so we could walk in when they opened. The variety of pastries was astounding and amazing. We tried four pastries, and they were all quite good. We also ordered breakfast. The food is so good. I would go there again and just have pastries and coffee. You could not go wrong with anything here. There was a line by the time it opened and it stayed that way until we left.

Beautiful place with great bakery items. We tried multiple bakery items and all were soo good. Their coffee is very nice too. But we didn’t like their breakfast much. Waffle wasn’t good, also omelette, breakfast potatoes and salad were ordinary. Definitely recommend this place for ambience and for their bakery items.

My sister recommended me to come and I’m glad I did. The food here is seriously so premium. I love the atmosphere in the cafe. The open kitchen layout is pretty cool. We were looking at all the staff busy prepping all the delicious food. I would recommend to come early if you want to get pastries. We came in right before the kitchen closed (1:45pm) and all the pastries are gone lol. I’ll probably try to come here before 8am next time. We order two dishes and two lattes which costs about $70. It’s pricy but I think it’s well worth it.

The building! The ambiance! The food! The menu is expansive and every choice seems right. Every item was unique and innovative. Most pastries were GONE as expected but we were able to try the Passion fruit lime coconut bar and we are still dreaming about it. If you are looking to only grab pastries its imperative you go early-they sold out fast I heard!Since Ive been living in LA for the last 25 years, it was unacceptably my first time at République but it wont be my last. I cant wait to go back and try their pastries as well as other items fro their menu. Absolutely LOVE République!

The best French restaurant Ive ever been to! The baguette is a must try-- freshly baked with the right amount of crispiness and chewiness. I like how they pair savoury flavours with sweet flavours via fruits like peaches; it makes the dish a lot more interesting and most adventurous for the taste buds. The duck is also very delicious as the skin was crunchy but the meat was tender. The corn ravioli is soft with a burst of corn flavours (I would recommend paying extra for truffles because it really puts the whole dish together). The ambience mimics France: upon entering, its as if you entered a house. If you ever visit LA, this is a fantastic spot to have lunch or dinner.

Food was delicious and the line moved fast. We were visiting family from Texas and we can’t wait to come back to eat here. Everything was excellent. Service was friendly. One item was never delivered until we got up to check on it. There could be more communication at the front when you get in line outside as to what we do in line and how the order process goes. We were kind of lost an the servers in the bakery were in a hurry to move us through.

Wonderful experience at Republique that lived up to the hype. We ate dinner and brunch the following day since we liked it so much and wanted to try the pastries.For dinner, they have an upscale feel without feeling too stuffy. We got the baguette with pan drippings, Belgian endives, the Cod, Duck confit, French fries, and the apple date tart. Everything was delicious and well-balanced. Service was great and you can tell they have standards there. Wine list is also very extensive.For brunch, it is a little hectic since you wait in line, order, and then find a seat. However, the price point is lower though still on the higher end, but it is worth it. The pastries alone are worth waiting in line. We got the shakshouka, brioche French toast, and shrimp and grits. The brioche French toast was one of the best brunch items Ive eaten. It was thick but still airy and crispy. The rest were pretty good but would probably order something else next time.

Great breakfast & brunch. The line backs out the door but it’s not as long a wait as it seems, the bakery display case is right inside the door, you pick your pastries and order food at the cashier, then find a place to sit. There are two levels of seating plus a large outdoor patio. A large skylight makes the main seating area bright and sunny. Valet parking only.

We ordered one breakfast dish and three pastries to share, and were very impressed with all of them! I would have said that the morning menu is $ or $$, and the dinner menu $$$. There is no host/hostess, you just order at the pastry case, get a number for your order, and go take a seat. I was surprised that there was no line at 10 AM on a Friday morning! They have a paid parking lot, but we got free street parking two blocks away.

This is a very large restaurant with many workers hustling all over the place. The food was very good and introduced us to something different. All dishes were very good including the corn pasta and the truffle appetizer. Two of the dishes, the cheek meat and the soft shell crab, were good but both were way too salty (not the crab, but the rice it came with the crab was very salty). All in all, it was a very pleasant experience.

Their line is always long during brunch hours! Waited in line for 1 hour. When you walk in, they’ll take your pastry order first. Let them know if you are dining in or take out. The plate/container is out into consideration!Order at the front and they’ll hand a cup with a number. Then you’re free to find a spot to sit. They do have upstairs as long as it’s not closed. They need to see your cup number to bring you your food!Croque madam: it was delicious!! I wish they added more bechamel sauce but the amount spread on the toast was still fine. Would recommend!Cauliflower nachos: it’s pretty good!! Majority of the nachos are covered with their sauce which I do like. They could definitely add more cauliflower as we got many small pieces and a few larger pieces sprinkled around the plate.Koshihikari rice: mix it!! 2 poached eggs was the perfect amount! The flavor was so delicious! Would recommend!Ginger ale: lots of ginger! It’s good!!Parking: we parked on the street in the residential and walked over to the restaurant. Where should I begin?The positive: the food is unbelievably good! We tried the BLT, and it’s out of this world.We wanted to try everything from the pastry window, but it’s almost impossible due to the wide variety. We ordered the croque madame, and while the ingredients and flavors are top quality, the combination left us feeling sorry. It missed the creamy and cheese experience in the kitchen! Nothing to do with the original.The creme brulee bombolone and the other one, I can recall its name, were excellent!Finally, the atmosphere is beautiful!But, there are also some negative things.First, the system to get in has many flaws.After almost 40 minutes of waiting, you pay for everything in advance, just to realize the place is practically empty! That’s so frustrating…Second, the service. They have zero interest in giving you a good experience. Could it be related to the pay-out front system?

This is an upscale French restaurant, but its definitely worth visiting.It can be quite crowded at the entrance, as many people are eager to dine here, even during lunchtime. But its worth it.Inside, youll find a delightful interior with various areas where you can comfortably spend your time. There are cozy spots near the windows, outdoor seating, and even a view of the bread-making process if you sit closer to the kitchen.Theres a wide variety of dishes available, but my advice to you is to be adventurous! Instead of opting for a sandwich, try the Shakshouka. Yes, its a meatless dish, but its so satisfying that youll never forget it!As for dessert, I highly recommend the meringue cookies. This was my second time there. We went there for weekend brunch. Arrived at around 10am, and there were only a few people ahead of us. Awesome restaurant nestled in a historically rich building. Commanding a slightly pricier menu with a constant queue till out of the door. On our most recent trip to L.A., we stopped at Republique for brunch. We loved it so much we ended up going back twice more. That should tell you everything you need to know!The pastries are fantastic - in particular, the Basque cheesecake, the ube brioche, the kouign-amann, the rose raspberry doughnut and the madeleines. From the breakfast menu, Id recommend the Gioiella Ricotta Toast, the Regular Breakfast, the Granola and the Steak Frites. We also tried the Eggs Benedict - not my favourite item from the menu but a solid choice if you like Eggs Benedict in general. The French omelette was also quite good. We loved the granola so much, we bought a bag of the mix to bring home with us. Also, the bread and butter - amazing!The line moves very quickly so dont be discouraged if you see a lineup out the door. It gets quite busy but we managed to find seating every time. The restaurant has a busy vibrant ambiance during the day with a mix of individual and communal tables. We will definitely be back next time we are in Los Angeles!

I took my family to République Café Bakery & République Restaurant about a week ago. I was there 5 mins before the restaurant opened up. We were very excited since we had heard so many great things about their service and food.As we walked in, we saw so many delicious pastries, and I was there with my wife and daughter, so I had them sit in the corridor area with a beautiful view of their architecture. I went to order our food, and I didn’t see my wife because we were asked to move since our stroller was sticking out. My wife seemed very upset but didn’t say anything; after we got served our food, I was looking for salt and pepper for my eggs.I looked around, and other people were offered the except us, and this upset me, so we requested to talk to a server, the same server who asked us to move from our seats.The server said it’s a café style restaurant, and if you wanted something, you needed to ask at the counter; when we asked, you served the other family their request but refused to assist with our response. I served them their food, and I am not your server, but I said, but you just told me if you need something, I need to go to the front desk, but you just served them, and I asked you to tell my wife to move without giving her information where to move to, his response was its common sense to move out of the walkway, I said common sense is common courtesy to provide customer benefit of the doubt that you care and assist them.I then requested their manager, and her response was an apology, and we could offer you some pastries.I had no issue with their food, but the service of the “café” was just trash, or maybe prejudice towards South Asian people because of how we were treated.

This is a brunch review! Note that dinner is a different chef. We parked at the paid parking at la brae tarpits and walked the half mile. The line was to the end of the block and took about thirty minutes as it moves quickly. You place your order at the pastry counter and the food comes quickly which means the tables turn over faster than an order at the table style restaurant. The selection of food, both pastries and brunch is diverse and playful. While there are classic dishes even those have twists. For example the classic eggs and meat breakfast has “bacon steak” vs sliced bacon. (It was spectacular if your okay with plenty of fat). My potato pancake was like no other and hit the mark for interesting and delicious. Simply put, this was the best breakfast I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of breakfasts! Service was really good. Remember you order at the counter on the way in and then it’s open seating with both indoor and outdoor options. Bus and waiter staff were frequent and fast and super friendly. I came away feeling the lunch team really were concerned that you got the best meal experience they could offer. Small item but I always take my coffee with sugar but this coffee was so good I skipped the sugar. My suggestion is go here for both the culinary adventure and a trendy meal experience.

Republique has always been one of my favorite breakfast spots in LA! I highly recommend their potato pancakes, pastries, eggs Benedict, and brioche french toast. However, during my last visit, I was disappointed to find that the brioche french toast did not quite live up to my memory of it from before COVID. It was not as creamy on the inside, and the caramelized sugar layer was not as perfectly crispy as I remembered. Nevertheless, I still cherish their recipe book, which I acquired a few years ago, and have been able to replicate their brioche toast recipe at home ever since!

Came to this restaurant after hearing about it on the podcast “dinner’s on me” by Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The food is delicious. Definitely very expensive and not for a casual meal. Had the corn appetizer, butternut squash pasta and lamb chops. The lamb chops were pretty average in comparison, however.

I would not say it’s quiet cafe for work environment necessarily but the bar is definitely nice for a change of scenery while you do laptop work. The staff are excellent and very friendly and personal. Our waiter took time to stop and chat with us for a while even thought the restaurant was so busy. Lattes were a hit, we ordered 3 rounds!

A nice place to visit. The way to order is to stand in line, place an order, grab a number and find a seat inside. Simple, easy and straightforward. The wait time in the line was about 20 minutes? If that. And food was another 20 min or so. Not bad, thought it would be longer considering the line. But staff are on it. Street parking only, unless you about that valet life (I am not 🤣). I ordered an Ube latte and shakshouka. I loved that the ube didnt taste... Fake/powdery. They might actually use real ube paste. The shakshouka was flavorful and filling and I like the chickpeas that were added. The bread they make onsite was delicious and not touch/chewey. My friend got the breakfast sandwich and an assortment of pastries along with the masala chai latte. If you love tumeric and ginger, get it. Itll wake you tf up frfr.

After that they will give you a number of cup, and find the set by your self, waiting for the food.By the way, this restaurant have place can parking the car but valet only, it’s 10 dollars for valet. A lovely meal! The atmosphere and design of the restaurant is absolutely adorable. We went for dinner with a reservation. Not a lot of street parking (theres metered parking but it has some restrictions), but they do have a valet lot. We paid $15 for valet on a Saturday night. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. The staff gave great recommendations and assisted with choosing wine (they have a huge wine selection, very cool!). The food was very delicious. They even gave us a complimentary potato leek soup to start the meal! I enjoyed everything, but my favorite dishes were the English pea agnolotti and the Nova Scotia halibut. We also tried the liberty duck, bluefin tuna toast, fresh baguette, oysters, the raspberry sorbet, and coffee (cappuccino and latte). From what I know, the menu changes frequently so I definitely would love to come back and try something different! Its on the pricier side, but its so worth it for the quality, fresh, unique, innovative, and delicious dishes you get try. You can tell that the chef puts a lot of thought and care into each dish. Meh. Beautiful space. I think in general the food was pretty tasty but it shouldnt command the prices that they do.The best things were the bread and dessert. Delicious. The dungeness crab, salad, and brussel sprouts were good.The proteins were pretty mediocre:1) The pork belly with caviar was a dish that cost $65 due to the usage of caviar. Yes, it tasted good but the caviar did not add much to the dish except for the price. The sauce is on the heavier side which mostly overpowered the caviar. Maybe that was the goal? I dont know2) The beef was just okay.3) The quail dish, while tasty, was obviously left out too long as the sauce has congealed.I really think the food wouldve been excellent had they charged maybe half the price, but it feels overpriced at their price point.Service was very good except for the fact they dont refill your wine for you even if you order a bottle. OTOH, the keep your water glasses topped up all the time.Oh, the wine list is pretty amazing too.

Nestled inside a picturesque, industrial chic dining hall, République serves French-inspired brunch everyday until 2pm. With Michelin Guide recognition, the cafe is rightly packed on weekends so I recommend visiting on a weekday morning if you can. After ordering at the counter, brunch seating is self-service and they will bring out any entrée dishes to your table.I did not like the quiche slice as it was too light and bland. I would, however, recommend the Chia Seed Pudding, omelette, and bakery items.

Wow! This place is totally worth all the hype. Youll have to go early and stand in line, but if you visit early, it really isnt a very long wait. We got 3 of their pastries for to go - pistachio pastry, bombolini and the amazing brown butter cake. You have to get their brown butter cake. A single bite of it literally transported me to paradise. Soo good! We also got their waffle and avocado toast. The bread of the toast was such good quality. Again - worth every bit of hype. Their lattes are delicious as well - got the proper aroma and taste of coffee. I had ordered black sesame latte confusing it to have espresso, the waiter graciously took it back and got a latte. Republique is a fantastic brunch spot with a super nice atmosphere. The place looks really cool, and even though theres usually a long line, theyre really quick at getting everyone seated. The best part? They have amazing French pastries that taste just like theyre from France – think kouign-amann and cannelés. But wait, theres more! They also make really yummy main dishes for brunch. We came early in the morning for brunch and didnt have to wait! The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly! The best part of this restaurant is the interior design and the ambience. It is such a cool building and really well done! We easily found street parking a block away. My parents used the valet and it was a mess, so I would try to avoid it as much as possible. They lost someones keys and it took over 20 minutes to get our car back because there were so many people coming to the restaurant mid-day. Overall, a great spot and amazing food!

The menu is inventive, although the “four course” structure threw us off a bit at first, we improvised our way through it and had a magnificent combination of dishes. Street parking still readily available before 930am but after that it’s fills up quite fast. Valet parking is provided just before the restaurant for a small fee. The restaurant is quite lovely and the dining area is bright and welcoming. When you walk in all the pastries catch your eye and there’s a lot to choose from. Food is generally good and the coffee is strong. Service is best described as brutally efficient. The staff are there to deliver the food, clear them and nothing much else. They will quickly turn the table around so the next set of guest can take a seat. Great in its own way I guess.

I’ve visited here couple of times but I had an unpleasant experience today with a staff. I was unfolding my stroller to bring my baby into a stroller in the restaurant(less than a minute) and the staff member complained to me. We had this place on our list for years after seeing it included in many LA must try lists and we finally made our way down for dinner and we just felt the entire experience was underwhelming, especially when you factor in the prices. The ambiance is amazing, it is a beautiful space and nothing can take that away but nothing else about the experience stood out as better than “ok”. The service was fine, the pacing of the courses was terrible. The first three things we ordered came in such quick succession the runners were reorganizing our plates to make it fit, very rushed, and then we waited about 30 minutes for the main. Our server was nice but it is not the level of service I’m used to when paying $150+ per person. I’ll list the items we ordered and they all have the same comment of being okay, in my opinion everything was under seasoned to an extent and could really use some salt: potato beignets, baguette with butter, truffle risotto, Liberty duck, fries. The strawberry tiramisu was fun, and the banana drink was very good. Overall I wouldn’t return for dinner at $150 per person, there is way better food in LA. If you have your heart set on going to see what the hype is it is a decent experience so it may be worth trying. We might try the cafe for breakfast at some point to see if the baked goods are as good as they look.

The food is amazing and ingredients quality is excellent and fresh.The food was so good that I forgot to take pictures. Also the atmosphere is very nice.They get 4 stars in my view because the restaurant is busy and I feel they are under staffed. We didn’t get spoons for the coffee or sugar or salt and pepper and we had to walk around looking for them while the food was getting cold.

Had a wonderful weekday breakfast at République Café Bakery & République Restaurant. Their MIMOSA, a blend of fresh orange juice and prosecco, was refreshing. The BLT BENEDICT with applewood smoked bacon, avocado, arugula, and calabrian chili hollandaise was a flavor-packed delight. Attentive service in a cozy setting. Amazing restaurant! There is a reason that this restaurant is consistently rated so highly with an enormous number of reviews: exceptional food with excellent service in a beautiful atmosphere. The setting lends itself to any occasion and can accommodate both casual or more formal dinners. I sat in the atrium (where the arches are), which is a little reminscent of a European village. Recommend groups where everyone can share and taste a little bit of everything. I had the baguette with pan drippings, venison patte, and liberty duck. All were exceptional. A little pricey but within reason and totally worth it. I think the lunch and dinner menus are totally different so I will certainly try to return for brunch.

Republique has been one of my favorite places for brunch and getting pastry in town, but the line has always been long. I decided to go there for a business dinner with a Reservation few days ago but the experience was somehow disappointing. We had a Reservation for two at 830pm in the back dining room but we were told to waited at the bar until 9pm. It was already embarrassing for me to tell my guest, then they offered us to sit at the communal table in the front with everyone passing through us. It was not ideal, so we decided to wait longer for the dining room we originally planned. The hostess told us the guests took much longer to dine that night, but we finally got seated in the table in the dining room almost 40 mins after our original reservation time. Then we had AC blasting on us at the table when it is only 50 degrees outside, and with a big table of drunk guys yelling and shouting next to us. People were wearing coats and jackets on them during dinner! The dining room was beautiful with high ceiling, but we felt like sitting outside in the cold in a loud, random marketplace. Our spot was unbearable, so we had to change. In the end, a table for two in the corner finally opened up, and we moved away from the noise and cold. Finally, we could order but our appetite was pretty much ruined. The food was still exceptional, especially the venison pate, beef cheek and market salad we ordered. The server for our table was very attentive, and helpful. But again, one dish came out cold and the crowd and experience on a regular Thursday night was questionable. With a menu with an entree at average $50 a dish and we spent nearly $200 per person for the night, we did not feel like the experience we had was up to the standards. There are plenty of nicer choices in town for the price point. My recommendations: I would only go back for brunch or day time, keep it casual and less expectation. If you wanna go for a romamtic date or business meal, think twice! Or get a table upstairs away from the noise and enjoy those delicious dishes.

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Los Angeles. There is a variety of pastries freshly baked to choose from. You can order breakfast as well. We tried the Smoked Salmon Toast and couple of pastries including Danish and Cheese cake. The waiters were amazing. The place is big so you will find tables. There is valet service. Their potato pancake is great! Ive also tried their omelette, which was good, and their pupusa, which I didnt like as much due to the amount of cheese they stuffed in it. Their latte is creamy and delicious.Service however, is awesome! All of the waiters were nice and friendly. We have been back for 2 straight days and found parking in the residential public street parking behind the restaurant. Menu item changes often and bake goods are just a plenty to choose from and almost freaking out for feeling we are holding the line (fickle minded beware). Customer service from the valet to the cashier needs to improve: 6/10. The valet guys were the first impression, and they failed since they were rude.Waiting time with NO reservations allowed: We waited in line for around 10 mins to approach the cashier. You order before being seated and choose your seats. I heard you could go straight to the counter to call main dishes if you dont order cakes/bakery ( dont take my word, please double-check with them). Since there were people in line and it was my first time, I just observed and saw a couple of people go straight in, and I thought they cut the waiting line.Space: pretty big, and they have different areas (front with window views or in the middle, the bar, back, and outdoor seating when you go to the back of the restaurant near the restroom). The ingredient’s quality are high, but flavor profile was not my cup of tea. Their flavor is more on the bland side. I was expecting the savory ham to stand out when I bite into the sandwich. 2023 update:Not much has changed. Service still sucks. The prices are still high. The line is the only thing that is gone, the wait is 3-10 minutes.👎 I asked very kindly, politely and humbly to clean a table where we wanted to sit and went to wait in line to order; 10+- minutes later it was still dirty and not even touched.👎 There was a puddle of water on the floor right in front of the register, so obviously everyone was “soaking” their shoes and pants in it. There is a line but it moved quickly for us, we arrived around 9am Saturday morning and were able to be inside in 5 minutes. However when we left an hour later the line was down the block!Immediately entering you can view all the delicious pastries and baked goods available, which they don’t list in their online menu. You cannot go wrong with any of your choices!! After you order it’s first come first serve for seats - another reason why coming early works well. The line does move quickly and you may be asked to order before you get the chance to look at everything on display - don’t be afraid to ask for more time :)We also ordered items from their breakfast menu and coffees - which was delicious but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat again with so many other breakfast choices in LA. Visited this place after a lot of hype on TikTok and I was disappointed. The servers were not welcoming at all and sounded rude. We requested sugar for our coffee and we gir it after the coffee was cold. The table we were sitting at was not clean at all from the previous guests. By charging a lot for their brunch and asking for a minimum tip of 18%, we expect a better service which was definitely lacking. There are definitely better brunch spots in LA.

When you arrive you must sign in outside and stay in line. They will beckon you into the restaurant where you will order at the front, pay at the counter, and they’ll give you a number. I’m pretty generous when it’s to my 5-star ratings, but Republique delivers all of them and more. This meal was absolute insanity in the best possible way. Every single bite, every single sip is magically curated. Each course builds on the previous for a meal that exceeded all of my expectations. Also, the music playlist was fire - it was almost like a best of 2022 Spotify recap, but better ;) (I’m so over those damn IG posts) We came for dinner and will definitely be back to try brunch. Do yourself a favor and check out Republique — you won’t regret it.

I have been to their brunch previously and had a good experience so I wanted to try their dinner service and was very glad that I did so. It is definitely more casual and fair in price compared to other restaurants close by and think that some other reviewer‘s are mixing it up with more fine dining establishments based on some of their comments. I have always had a great experience here and the food is delicious for breakfast and for dinner. It’s a very well-known place so it can get busy but that also adds to the charm since inside it’s really open with tall ceilings. Parking can get tricky in that area depending on day and time but I have always been able to find neighborhood parking within a few blocks at very worst.We started off the meal with the Santa Barbara Spot Prawns and they were delicious. The brown Normandy butter and the lemon mixed really well and made a really nice sauce for it. Next we followed up with the Munak Ranch Heirloom Tomatoes and that was perhaps my favorite dish of the night. It was extremely fresh and only slightly acidic and tasted like I was eating a bite of spring in winter. Next came the Sweet Corn Agnolotti and it was a small portion but it went very fast. I don’t usually order corn dishes so this was a nice change for me. For the entrée I chose the Tare-Grilled Short Rib and it was 4/5. I prefer my short ribs to be more tender and this one was a bit more dense than I like but still I ate every bit of it.Overall a great experience and I would suggest to anyone. I would not suggest it as a birthday, anniversary, or important work dinner because it’s not really designed for that. But for a date, dinner with friends or family, or a casual work dinner it would be perfect.

Amazing brunch spot! The food was great, the service was fantastic and best of all they had valet that was cheap (IMO). Such a great experience that we went back and stood in line to buy the cookbook, hopefully our creations come out equally delicious!

A slightly pricey, but fantastic breakfast experience. Id suggest getting here before 9:30 to avoid a wait, but everything is AMAZING. I especially enjoyed the brioche French toast and bought some cookies and a croissant to-go.

I’ve had a lot of croissants from different places in LA and this is up there as one of the best. Although a bit smaller than expected it had the right amount of flakiness as well as more of a hint of butter. I’m not usually a big danish eater but their apple danish was the best I’ve ever had. The chocolate chip cookie was also a smash hit. Although I went to the side window and not inside with the regular line but maybe for the best so it would limit all the different pastries I would get. This place is very much a must try.

The service was impeccable. The last course of our meal could’ve used a bit more flavor profile and the crude could’ve used a tad more spice or punch. The music was not fitting the amazing atmosphere and, for me, took away from the experience. There was a photographer when we dined and did not ask permission to take anyone’s photo as I’m assuming this was for social media or website content. The hostess should disclose customers of an on-site photographer and inform them prior to being seated, as some do not like to participate and be photographed .They DO NOT take cash as I found out AFTER we ate our $200+ meal.

This was a lovely brunch with so many options, I liked that when you go in the first thing you see it’s the big variety of pastries, such a hard choice, then you make your order and go through the incredible architecture to find a nice place to eat, the French toast was my favorite by far, I would recommend to arrive early because it tends to get crowded, for breakfast time it’s not necessary to make a reservation

Oh my gosh, what a horrendous experience! Not to mention that this was our valentines brunch! I was looking forward to coming here for MONTHS! The food here is plain, and your money would be spent better at your local in & out. If you want good French food, go to Petit Trois— that’s what we ended up doing right after we left. I ordered the steak frites here & the burger here. Both were dry & BLAND!!! I asked them to remake the fries which were barely cooked & they did so without an issue which was nice of them. The steak was over cooked both times they served it to me. The little service that you get was good. You order first and then bring a number to your table. I didn’t even ask to speak to a manager or order something else because I was disgusted by the food at that point. Not worth the price & the line. Over hyped!

Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service. République does not disappoint and lives up to its hype. The steak is cooked perfectly and the duck is tender and paired well with sweet caramelized peaches.Our waitress recommended the bread and butter and Im so glad we took her up on her suggestion. The butter is flown in from Normandy and adds flavor and creaminess to the rich crispiness of the baguette.Service is top notch. The only thing that I didnt like was the Japanese highball cocktail. Too much soda water diluted the drink, and the overall flavor profile was a bit bitter.

Update: Man! They have really upped their game with their pastries!!!!!Have to try the chicken and waffles! Pretty good breakfast spot. Casual and trendy. I frequent this place for breakfast. Whatever dish you order make sure you dont leave without having their 1. Drip coffee 2. Baguette with butter and raspberry jam. Great stuff. I usually get their regular breakfast. It comes with 2 eggs, bacon steak, breakfast potatoes, and baguette. Simple yet satisfying.

What makes this location so special it’s history, built in the 1920s by Charlie Chaplin and has been beautifully preserved & restored since. The experience is like traveling through time while enjoying breakfast and sipping on your latte - this restaurant feels magical. It’s one of the most widely known restaurant for tourists. I didn’t make a reservation so I had to just walk in to get a table. But the space is quite huge so there was nothing to worry about!The break is from 3 to 5:30 so be aware of it. We sat by the oven and the atmosphere was great. We could smell the breads baking and also the butter and everything.We ordered a egg toast with uni, octopus salad, two kinds of pastas and a roasted chicken. All dishes were great and nothing let us down! The service was great and everything was just perfect.

I saw the dry aged burger on The Burger Show so I had to try it! It did not disappoint, it tasted exactly as it was described, a dry aged in and out burger, delicious and for $20 it was a deal, including fries, which again were very close to in and out fries! Dinner at Republique was a great experience. The server was very friendly and gave us great suggestions on the menu.For starter, the baguette was fresh and crunchy from the outside & soft from the inside. The butter was also very good!The tomato salad had some fresh ricotta, different types of tomatoes, melon, & BASIL (really made a difference for me) and it all just tasted so fresh. Great meal starter!The Campanelle was definitely a favorite. Pasta & lobster were Fresh & flavorful. I enjoyed every bite!The Liberty Duck was my least favorite but to be fair it wasn’t a bad order. Just not my cup of tea.Also the place is so aesthetically pleasing. I loved the interior and the sunlight coming in the middle of the space.I would totally come again. Cute French cafe with a lot of pastries and cooked food. We got there at 10:45 on a Monday with little wait, but around 11am the line was out the door. You order the food first before finding a seat.Their pastries are all decent but the sweet ones are very sweet since they’re coated with sugar.We also ordered kimchi fried rice and shakshuka. The fried rice was good but is more on the wet side. Our shakshuka took so long that we canceled it because at that point we already waited for an hour for it. A bit disappointed at how slow it was.

This scoring might surprise those of you whos tried this place, so Ill immediately give the reason for such a mediocre rating: the ceiling leaked! While LA isnt a particularly rainy city, eating in the main hall while having rain drip down to your food and drinks is... Not a particularly pleasant experience.If I were to judge purely on the food experience and on normal days this place doesnt have much to say except for being quite excellent, well furnished and comfortable to have brunch in. Unfortunately, I cant recommend this place whatsoever for any rainy days. Hopefully the can fix the roof leak soon.

Run dont walk. Came here for dinner and everything is beyond good and the staff is super professional, organized and proactive. The quality and the prep of the food is 5 star. The entrees and desserts will be having you coming back for more. Had a nice convo with Walter Manse (the Owner) and he was very approachable and we had a good interaction. First visit to the place and glad there were lines long enough to predecide what to eat before sitting down. Potato pancake and Belgium Waffle are what we had. Potato pancake is an acquired taste that blanded pretty well among potatoes, salmon, and soft poached egg. Little more than 6 Salmon roe would have complemented the bland taste of potato pancakes but soft poached egg was able to cover that slightly. I still think more salmon Roe would have been better. Begium Waffles had very fresh and ripped fruits. Overall great tasting breakfast.The regular coffee were above my expectations as well.

We came here for breakfast, lured by all the five star reviews. However their food is really mediocre, or below mediocre actually. We had lobster omelet and mushroom toast. The sauce is overpowering the actual flavor of the ingredients, and the dishes are so salty! We spent $90 for two people, highly over priced! The only thing I’d recommend is their pastry.There is minimum service, but they ask you for 25% tips on the screen. On top of that, there are flies everywhere. Will Not come again.

This is a review for the brunch experience: to preface, we went during the week because if you go on a Saturday, you WILL wait forever in a line. You have to wait in a line to order at the front, and then you go and seat yourself with the number they give you and your server will find you with your food. It’s a cute concept. To start: the aesthetic is lovely. We ordered the baguette with butter and jam…100% recommend. I could eat that all day every day. Which is dangerous, because I live nearby lol. Next, I ordered the fresh toast which was thick, large (couldn’t finish) but SO good. Seriously, so fluffy and delicious. I ordered a side of bacon, which was like a thick slab and that’s not my vibe, so I probably won’t do that again. My mom ordered a cappuccino which was good, but too tiny for her standards lol. She also ordered the frittata, and was excellent. We still have to come back for dinner as we heard that’s quite good as well. OH AND we bought some shortbread cookies to take home: yes. I can’t wait to go back and grab some other pastries & get myself another baguette. Maybe even some butter to have at home?

This place was amazing!! I absolutely loved everything about it!! The restaurant decor, feel and vibe was amazing.You immediately walk-in to a register and you are greeted with a tasty sea of pastries. I went around 11 am and ate the BLT Benedict. I also ordered a caramel Latte! It was a great way to kick off our day!The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly! Brunch - Everything about this place is stellar. The atmosphere is picturesque, the staff is friendly, the dishes are beautiful and the food is delicious. One of if not THE best brunch I’ve had. Salmon Benedict, farmers market fruit, French toast, and even the coffee were all tops and super fresh.A comment on the wait. You get in a line to order and then find a seat. I find this kind of waiting to be a lot better than waiting for a table. The tables turn faster and the line keeps moving. I waited about 20 minutes in line on a busy Saturday.
