I am gluten free so I got the shrimp scampi which is shrimp on a bed of rice. It had butter and garlic in it which I love! There were some vegetables too, I think onions and green pepper. Very filling. I had to save half for the next day. My boyfriend got the linguini with seafood, I think it was shrimp and scallops, he said it was delicious!

Nice little seafood eatery. Food was fine but not as good as I was expecting. Based on other reviews my expectations were high. Unfortunately they did not stand up to the hype. The grilled salmon was good but could have been seasoned more. The Oyster Rockefeller and the calamari fritti were good but too greasy. The coconut prawns were so sweet that we could not finish them. The stuffed mushrooms and the fried ice cream were tasty. Overall a good dining experience - just don’t expect to be blown away.

Awesome little seafood shop! Friendly, casual, great location. Sat a the bar, but the patio was tempting too.Ozzy was in the kitchen, he and he staff are really friendly, engaged. Oyster taco was delish, perfectly fried oyster. Portions for the mains are so big, there is no way we could eat one each, so we shared some seafood pasta and Cioppino among the 4 of us and it was more than enough. Good value for sure. And good fun!

Stopped by for a late lunch. It’s situated on a much calmer/quieter side road than the main strip downtown which was nice. Overall the food was good, and the service was great - the seafood sampler was large and tasty, however the chicken sandwich lacked flavour - not bad though, and still juicy, just needed more seasoning

My husband and I were here for the first time. I have to praise the good service, tasty food and reasonable prices. I have to say that the rice with the fish and the pasta were too much for us. Just the vegetables were enough. In addition, the side dish was not seasoned.

While traveling to Arizona and back we enjoyed dining at Ruben & Ozzys Oyster Bar and Grill. We enjoy it so much when we were at the beginning of our trip, we had to make sure we went there again on the way back home. Both times we enjoyed fresh seafood dishes and margaritas. The food and service was exceptional! If you are in Palm Springs and you enjoy seafood you need to have lunch or dinner with Ruben and Ozzy!

Ruben and Ozzy’s is a great place to enjoy great food and company. It has a wonderful outdoor seating and it does get crowded. There is on street parking and a parking lot in the back. The staff is very friendly. The prices are a bit more steep for what you get, but the food is wonderful. I do recommend Ruben and Ozzy’s for families, couples and even singles. You’ll be glad you ventured in.

I think we hit them on a bad night. While our waitress was very friendly, she was not attentive. We had to ask three times for water and we had to ask the hostess to get our waitress so we can order dinner. Then when it came to the food the Poke was just okay. A similar dish is served at Shanghai Reds and its much better. Another person at my table had the shrimp tacos and the taco shells dissolved with the sauce so the shrimp kept falling out, some when went on to the floor. I see the reviews have been really good so Im disappointed my experience was not the same. This was my first time visiting this restaurant. It didnt make a good enough impression on me to want to go back.

First time dining at this restaurant. Food portion was big and cooked to order. Took awhile to get all of our food but the staff made it up by offering a couple of free appetizers while we waited for all of our food. That goes a long way, especially since we had a large table of 11 with kids. The location is conveniently located in downtown Palm Springs and pet friendly. I wish I had more pictures to share but forgot to snap pics since everyone was so hungry and started chow down as soon as the food arrived. Staff was very attentive and friendly.

MUST GO- This local gem is the only restaurant in PS that we go to each time we visit. Owned by two brother (that cook every night) this is a must visit. Everything is a winner on this menu. Their raw bar never disappoints- also the stuffed artichoke is delicious. The seafood skewer, lobster tail, shrimp scampi, and steak are among some of our favorite entrees. Can’t wait till our next meal there.

Ive been trying their whole menu and nothing disappoints me, their shrimp tacos and crab enchiladas are amazing and must try if youre new to seafood. Their Louisiana oysters and tuna poke are my favorite appetizers.Highly recommend and they also have dishes that arent fish.

An interesting place, to be sure, but I think they cater too much to the mild palates of Palm Springs residents. My crab enchilada was very bland, with not-great crab. The seafood Alfredo was nice.We didnt exercise the house specialty, which looks to be oysters. Our opinion might have been different if so.

If you are ever in the Palm Springs area, you must visit!From the drinks, the friend artichoke hearts, the surf and Turf and of course my very large lobster tail all cooked perfectly! This is now our go to spot in Palm Springs. The Lobster Bisque on Fridays is worth scheduling for. All the pastas are superb. I’m not a fan of oysters but ask for Ozzy’s special oysters. I loved them. Clams Casino and everything else we’ve sampled on the menu has been delicious. Great owners and staff complete the experience. We can’t wait to return. That will be next week. Lol

Really good food and super service. One of the waitresses had a bit of an attitude but the busboy more than made up for it by bringing our dog water, my drinks and the heater. So many other restaurants will defer to the waiter or waitress, but not this kid. He did it all.As for the food, it ranged from good to great.Great: oysters were fresh and plump. Truly amazing for the desert. Rubens special and cheesy garlic bread. Shrimp and fish tacos.Good: The clam chowder. Enjoyed it, just had better.Needs work: fries - ordered well done, but still not crispy at all. Salsa - they didn’t have any. Tapatio, Cholula or Tabasco only. Should have ordered extra Poco de Gallo for the tacos, but didn’t come to mind at the time.Prices were really good if you order from the lunch menu. Portions might be smaller, but I didn’t notice and had left overs for dinner.Pro tip: get there when they open. We got there right at Noon and there were open tables. 30 mins later and they were packed with a line waiting.

I have walked by this place hundreds of times in 8 years. Only this year did I start dining there as a friend told me he enjoyed it. Their special pasta plate is wonderful! Their prices are also very reasonable. I can see now why its usually fairly busy during the season. Ive been there three times the last month. I recommend it.

There are no words for how pleased I am with my experience here. The inside is very small with an open kitchen set up. I was sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs in action. The chef closest to me was very attentive to any needs such as extra water, removing plates, etc. The wait staff was friendly and attentive as well. The fooood....oh my God the fooood! I had the fried artichokes to start and they were delicious then I had Ozzys Special for my entree. It was out of this world good. Hands down the best pasta dish I have ever had. It was a linguini Alfredo (cooked perfectly) then topped with shrimp, mushrooms and onions in this sweet and spicy sauce. The blend of that sauce and the Alfredo sauce is pure genius.

My son and I were in town craving seafood and went to Rueben and Ozzys. we sat at the counter in front of the kitchen where Ozzie himself took very good care of us. He gave us a couple of samples from the menu and then we started ordering everything on the menu. The tartar is done right which i think has to have avocado. My son had pan fried fish tacos and i work you they are very big so be careful on how many you order. I ordered seafood pasta Rueben house specialty and a half dozen oysters. It was very good but you couldnt top the the service and family feel. I also order gin on the rocks and the pour and price were incredibly reasonable. I wish we stayed longer to try other items on the menu. The fish tacos were amazing.

Went here on a tip from some Winter vacationers. Went later on a Thursday, street fair. Were were lucky to be seated outdoors as it was busy. The clam chowder and the grilled shrimp taco were great! Hopefully, our experience was a one off. Had Luiss special (shrimp, crab and scallops with penne pasta and marinara sauce) and the seafood fettuccine. Both dishes lacked flavor and were quite bland in my opinion. Sadly, the seafood fettuccine had a paltry amount of crab as well. I would have liked to have tried another dinner here as I believe generally the food is much better than what we recieved. The restaurant was somewhat busy and people seemed to be enjoying their meals. Staff were friendly and attentive. Indoor and outdoor seating were available. Parking on the street was easy and near the restaurant.

We loved it last year and came here a lot during our winter in palm springs. This year something changed, it was not the same anymore. We ordered what we usually do and were so excited because we expected great seafood.. But got very disappointed, the flavors are not the same anymore. I went by myself so I was seated immediately during a busy Friday night. The service and food here are definitely top tier. My server was extremely helpful and polite. Little place with difficult parking. Place was not even half full and I had to circle twice to find a spot.I ordered sautéed mushrooms and the green mussels.12 bucks for just mushrooms. I thought I might be getting bread or something else along with my meal. Mushrooms were OK but kind of a small portion.Mussels come in a very bland broth and there were only 8 while mussels. They were not cleaned properly either. Hands down one of my favorite places to go for a great meal and a glass of wine. We always start with the New Orleans oysters, which are better than any that I had in New Orleans, and the sauteed mushrooms. Then, we will either get the grilled shrimp tacos or some oysters on the half shell. I cant believe how fresh the seafood is this far inland. The oysters are better than some weve had at beachside restaurants in Laguna. And the service is always top notch.

This is the second time that Ive been here. The first time was 5 stars all the way! One of the best meals that Ive ever had! This time I ordered the same thing. Steak and lobster. The lobster was extremely tough and chewy for both of us. The steak was cooked properly but had no flavor at all. Like it was not seasoned at all! Very disappointing after our first meal there!

The fried oyster tacos are amazing. Everything on the menu is great. Service is always excellent and the atmosphere is casual and friendly. I like to sit at the counter and watch the guys prepare dishes. I always end up meeting at least one of my fellow diners there. Tge atmosphere just seems to be conducive to that.

The food was disappointing - oysters were ok but nothing special and the crab enchiladas were extremely salty, with the mussels a bit too briny and not enough wine in the sauce as well. This was a big fail. I read other people’s reviews and thought it sounded good for fish tacos. No flavor and the tortillas were very dry. You could get a Caesar salad for an extra $2.50. Ridiculous!! We went around 5pm on a holiday week and got seated right away, although as the night went on the place quickly filled up. Food was generally good on everything our group ordered. Best dishes were the seafood which were all very fresh. Oysters Rockefeller and New Orleans were very good. I had the Cioppino and my son had the Ruben special, which were both tasty. However the one huge minus was the slow food service. Dont know if our orders were not prioritized properly or the kitchen was short staffed. Apps came out quickly but the mains took well over an hour... Which was easily a 2 or maybe 3 star overall rating experience. However once we really started complaining hard the whole staff sincerely apologized and went out of their way to fix these issues. They even comped us free bread and a couple deserts at the end. This is why I raised my review to 4 stars.

After reading all the positive reviews, I gave this place a try and was looking forward to having some baked oysters and lobster. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. :( Baked oysters and the spinach were slushy inside and not crispy, and they were tasteless. Garlic bread was a basic cheap baguette and it did not smell garlic. Lobster tails were way overcooked and the oil on the side was bad tasting. Chicken sandwich was bad too, with cheap fries on the side, cooked in terribly tasting oil. When we mentioned how bad the food was the waitress apologized and took the lobster and chicken sandwich off the check. I hope the restaurant will review how they cook lobster and avoid overcooking it and use more high quality ingredients in the future. At the moment, I would not recommend this place and rather recommend to avoid it.

So yesterday evening I drive from Moreno Valley to Palm Springs just to eat here & got turned away. It was about 6:30pm when I arrived, got out & went to the stand they have outside. Why would a restaurant not have takeout at a time like this?? & what is the difference from sitting or getting takeout, you’re still going to have to make a plate?? Would have definitely given a 5 star but I felt some type of way being that one can’t even sit inside the place because of COVID-19 but one or I couldn’t get takeout, plus I drove 30 mins. Guess I’ll find me another Ruben & Ozzy’s to eat at because they don’t do takeout after 6:30.

We went with my father and his partner on Sunday night. Great food and service. I got the mexican pico for an appetizer and Im glad everyone was hungry since it could be a meal in itself. Wonderfully prepared. Our group all enjoyed our meals but I particularly enjoyed the cioppino and campechana.

Food was amazing. Staff was decent. We had to wait and couldnt track down our server. After asking many times, they finally switched to have an owner serve us. His service was again amazing, but building up to that was pretty bad.

Just incredible once again. After having spent 2 weeks dining in Manhattan, I can tell you my palate has been in the war room, where restaurants are competing at top dollar (meals at 200 dollars) to the most discriminating diners. And I can say it hands down, not one of those gastropubs, bistros, fine dining, cafes, and everything can step into the ring with Ruben and Ozzys. They put passion into food that you can literally taste, with top tier freshest ingredients, without the Manhattan price.Its pretty bad when I cant wait to get back to Palm Springs from a week in Manhattan for some New Orleans oysters and a Ruben Special at R&Os!!Trust me.

We really enjoyed our dinner! Lunch was fine, but what we chose for dinner was way better! I did the seafood shish kabob. Amazing!! I chose the pasta as my side and the flavor of the very mild alfredo sauce enhanced the whole dish. My husband had the skirt steak? I think that was the meat selection. It was very tender. I believe he enjoyed it, but, he thought my meal looked amazing. We are not big red meat eaters..I wanted to come back. So, on our way home to Scottsdale from Temecula we stopped for lunch. A much smaller selection. The Shish kabob was not on the menu. I considered the green chili spinach enchiladas and decided on a grill instead. It was fine but not as impressive as dinner. My husband said if we would have stopped for lunch before we ever had dinner we would have never come back for dinner we would have tried something new and different. There is no indoor eating. Even though it was about 105° with the misters on the outdoor seating was fine. I will return for dinner on another trip.

This is truly the best place to get fresh seafood. Nothing is ever Frozen and it is always fresh and delicious. Ruben and Ozzy are the cooks and they are the best. You can sit at the bar and watch them cook your food right in front of you. Not only is it good food everyone is friendly and is an all-around great place to eat lunch or dinner.

Im from Michigan, was in Cali for 2 weeks, one of the best seafood ever.. Wasnt completely sure about it till I ate their food, definitely worth going to.. The servers were lightning fast and nice, also able to see the cooks cook.. I would definitely return to this restaurant..

It gets packed, pretty much every day. They dont take reservations so we had to wait about 35+ min. Food did take longer than expected and came out warm-ish...? (Not oysters). Waitress seemed stressed out by her tables and rushed us a bit. Design, it could use a remodel.

A friend took us here. This was a third attempt. The other times we didnt want to wait and went to That Smile instead. We still had a long wait, but we were not starting this time. Food was good, and big portions too. Priced a but high for what you get, but this is Palm Springs. It was enjoyable, but wont wait again if we cant get seated quickly.
