Rudys Cant Fail Cafe in Emeryville

Great food, quick service and a cute atmosphere. I got the corned beef hash and eggs, pancakes, French toast, Popeye omelet. The only thing we could’ve passed on were the pancakes, they’re pretty average. Also, the fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juices were delicious

So I heard Greenday once owned this restaurant and through its success they sold it to the employees. This all shows with the level of quality in the food and enjoyable staff who really hook it up with fantastic quality. The place is more of a casual diner/ brunch spot. I highly recommend the unique takes on classic foods here.

This was our first time here... It will not be our last. Everything was cooked to perfection 🥰. The vibe was sit relax and enjoy. The perfect Sunday energy. The food, mmmmmmm, it tastes as good as it looks. Just check out my pics. You will be going there. Thanks for the experience.

Meatloaf was absolutely wonderful!! Ten out of five starts!!! Yes, it was that good IMO!!

Great greasy spoon breakfast/ lunch spot. When. I ask for two eggs over medium with crispy bacon its what I get. And its good and filling. Good serving sizes. Came with hashbrowns and toast for 15 bucks. Not bad.

Diner atmosphere. Small adjacent parking lot but should be able to find street parking. I parked on 49 th street and walked 3 minutes to the cafe while pushing mom in a wheelchair. By the way the sidewalk was a little uneven in one place making it a tad difficult to get over the bump with the wheelchair. Staff is very friendly You order and pay at the counter then find a table or Vice versa. We came at around 11am on Saturday. Busy but not overly crowded in that we found a table without having to wait.My brother and I ordered the corn beef hash plate and my mom ordered the egg, hash brown with sausage. The sausage was an apple sausage which my mom did not like. Service was quick and the servings are large. Overall food is good. I also had a Bloody Mary which I thought was good but my brother thought was salty.Will definitely come back and try the other dishes.

Onion Rings were cold, steak was under cooked and sent back. The waitress delivered poor service but her co-workers covered her pretty well. I enjoyed the IPAs half price during happy hour. I will go back for sure because I always enjoy myself when there.

Ive been coming to Rudys since it opened 21 years ago. Ive taken friends and lovers there at all hours. Living in Long Beach now, I hadnt been to Rudys since before the pandemic, probably in 2016. My sister-in-law and I were craving a good, get down, yum yum breakfast. She and I ordered the basics: french toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, eggs-over-easy, and hash browns. We added on two lattes - whole milk for her, oat milk chai for me. We were SO disappointed with everything - her hash browns were pale white, no crispy browns, and lukewarm. Her bacon rubbery and cold. The only tasty item on my plate was the french toast - made with challah (as it should be! :D), but also NOT piping hot. My eggs were rubbery and the veggie patties oily and barely cooked. All in all - an absolute bummer. Along with this, the only available inside seat was by the side door which was slamming shut every 5 minutes. With the new (to me) walk up to order and no one checking on you to see youd like syrub, maybe, there is zero to the service. We left our half eaten breakfasts and our wasted $60. :(

Classic Americana like this place need to survive! It’s got breakfast all day. It has large (American) size portions on juice. I got extras of bacon and sausage and that made me happy.

Fantastic little place with a groovy atmosphere. They give you a great amount of food, I couldnt even finish my triple decker sandwich! If youre visiting or need a spot for some all day breakfast, lunch or dinner, check this place out!
