Ruen Thai Restaurant in Roseville

Love the authentic feeling of a Thai restaurant when I walked in. Service was awesome. Presentation of all the foods that came out was beautiful. The peanut salad was delicious, but other then that most of the dishes came out was lacking in flavor. Glass noodles with black mushrooms, ground chicken & cabbage soup were kind of boring. Glass noodles were a tab undercooked. 1 to 2 minutes longer would have been perfect. The curry dish was ok, but the portion was too small. Fired eggrolls was mostly just fry wrap, barely any in it. Larb was not what I expected. There was no roasted rice & was overcooked. They added an extra ingredient that doesnt go well with traditional larb supposed to taste like. Steam rice was super dry & undercooked. If this is your first time trying out Thai foods, this is the place to go. But if youre expecting traditional Thai foods with authentic favor....this isnt the place.

Love the food here, everything’s to our liking!!! Big serving that’s great for sharing! We ordered 3 meals, one for each, added one appetizer and we ended up bringing home half of everything for dinner! Servers were friendly, too!

This Thai spot is absolutely amazing! It would be dangerous for me to live in such close proximity to it. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with such kindness and lovely smiles. The menu had a lot of great options for all different diet choices. I ordered the red pumpkin curry and received a huge delicious bowl of some of the best curry ever with a lot of yummy veggies. My buddy enjoyed his duck curry. The mango sticky rice was also very yummy! I highly recommend and I’m so beyond excited to eat my leftovers today.

Great service, clean restaurant. Out of the 5 dishes that we ordered we ended up liking 3. The fresh spring rolls were pretty good and so was the green curry and also noddles. The pad Thai was pretty disgusting, soup definitely needed more flavor

Pros: Great service, helpful server, nice portion size, like the decor.Cons: Didnt really hit that addicting Thai food experience I was hoping for, and if it matters to you the bathroom was ridden hard and put away wet (floor was nasty, walls have some kind of chunkage sprayed on it in parts, light fixture was missing — but hey you didnt go here for the bathroom experience.)Went for lunch on a Saturday around 12:30. The server was friendly and helpful and we ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Pork Drunken Noodle, and I think some kind of beef/vegetable stir fry?The Chicken Pad Thai was sweet and greasy, maybe had one green onion on the plate and didnt have cilantro or lime wedges. Flavor was ok but definitely was missing those side items. We did ask for some lime wedges on the side and that helped a bit.The Pork Drunken Noodles was greasy and ok on flavor. The pork was chopped up so fine that it got lost in the mushy noodles. It also was a bit salty but that might be from the pork. Perhaps the chicken version of this would solve the issue.Would I go back? No. Maybe if I was meeting some friends there and in that case I would for sure check out the other menu items like maybe try a curry or soup.

How did this place got 4.6????? I came in during lunch time and they were ok busy. After I ordered I told the lady I am pregnant and can not eat any spicy. And they still got me both spicy. However, they made a non spicy one after I complained.Food wise: curry is ok, but pad Thai is definitely not the right one.Customer service: one of the lady is nice but the other one is not. They gave the wrong check when we are about to pay.Do not recommend this place for Thai food so far.

Wow this Thai place is so good! We ordered the pad see ew, roast duck curry and sticky rice mango. All were delicious with lots of flavor. I like the decor inside and it’s very clean. Service was attentive and really nice. We definitely found this as a favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant and will definitely be back!

Very delicious Tom yum soup with shrimp, pad Thai with shrimp and green curry with chicken. I loved how each bite was a flavor explosion. The small Tom yum is perfect for serving 2 people.The ruen fried rice was not great. It didn’t have a that special Thai kick that I’m used to, but tasted more like Chinese style fried rice (more plain/bland).Service was very good! Everyone was nice, attentive and patient.

This was probably one of the best Thai restaurants weve eaten at in a while. Everything had a great depth of flavor thats worth returning for. The portions were also pretty generous - I think everyone around us left with some leftovers.Only major note to consider: the dishes were spicier than I expected. On their 1 - 4 hotness scale, I chose a 2, and it definitely had a kick. Still delicious, but more than expected based on my experience with other Thai restaurants. Pay attention to the description on their scale and make decisions accordingly.
