After my dining experience here I knew that I am here to stay! Everything about my experience here was brilliant from the flavors, taste, art and mastery put into the food presentation to the service, the ambiance, to the beautiful environment. I am hooked and when I find a place like this I am hooked! If youve never tried Rumble Fish you must not miss out of an opportunity of a lifetime. Rumble Fish is by far one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the world! Hands down. I have never tasted anything like that Climax roll with real crab!!!!! I am hooked

I like this place. The sushi is good, as well as the ambiance. I ordered a beer and a roll or two, and it was just a very nice experience in downtown. Once yoh walk in, you are away from the hustle and bustle on castro and really in a different place. The beer selection is good, and the sushi rolls are amazing. The salt and pepper shakers are cute. The whole place is grrat for date nights and even a saturday on evening on your own.
Sushi are great! Suggest to make reservation for Friday night.

Some of the best sushi in the area. Everything was perfect and on point: Presentation, portion size, and ingredient balance. Upon first bite, instantly could tell the high quality. Also appreciated the ginger and onion/tomato salad. This is now my #1 go-to sushi spot.
This place keeps a consistent level of high quality sushi. We have been coming here or ordering from DoorDash for over four years. Rumble Fish never disappointed. They don’t cut any corners and every single dish is fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the “feast” combos. It is a great way to get acquainted with new menu items or the good old favorite ones like the soft shell crab.
Rumble Fish introduced me to vegan sushi! Theyre vegan sushi, especially the midsummer roll, is out of this world!
This place deserves 5 star as they improved service dramatically and the food is delicious!I love the chirashi bowl where the chef always puts the selection of the day and everything is always super fresh and tasty.I really enjoy sitting at the bar but their outdoor seating is also really nice.I am starting to prefer this place to other highly rated sushi restaurants in the area because there is never a line here and the ambiance is really really nice!
Finally found a reliably good sushi place in Mountain View. My husband and I have been here a few times and the food/ service is Always great. Usually no wait for a table, even on the weekend. Excellent and interesting sushi rolls to choose from. Recommend the chicken skewers too.
Surprised by all the good reviews. This is a pretty basic sushi spot with a lot of funky rolls and menu items. Service was great, but I probably wouldn’t recommend for people looking for more traditional, select sushi.
The sushi is fine. The service is a miss on the night we were there. We came in at 5pm and the place was empty. We quickly order some rolls and they were made by the sushi chefs right away but sat at the counter for some time. I looked over at them just sitting there numerous times, so much so that the sushi chef noticed, moved them over, came out from behind the counter, because it wasnt really busy, and served us himself. They had comment cards so I left some feedback.

Before this restaurant was taken over and changed to Rumble Fish that used to be a decent mediocre sushi place when it was Sono sushi. Now its less than mediocre and their prices are absolutely ridiculous for third-rate fish and poor service. If I can finish a large hot sake by myself and no one comes and takes my order its time to find a new sushi place.
Really nice service, loved the sashimi salad, good selection of fresh fish well beyond the standard tuna and salmon. Recommend bringing your own sanity wipes for the outside tables as they didnt appear to have been cleaned.
Best chicken katsu, hidden gem for getting drunk and high quality sushi.My favorite is chicken katsu (bento box), you can enjoy crispy and tender chicken cutlet there. I highly recommend it for everyone who likes to eat inside or who needs a lunch box. Its very subjective but I can feel the spirit and love from their katsu. My tempura in the bento box agrees with me.Its a hidden gem to get drunk. They have a full cocktail bar and I like their interior design as you can see from the photos. Its the only place I really get drunk. Why is it the best? Because they have some diversity of drinks from Asia. You can find not only Japanese sake and Korean Soju, but also standard drinks. Even if you want some whiskey, you have additional choices like Japanese whiskey. More choices more drinks, but no memory (kidding). I guess it will shine again after the pandemic.Their sushi is way above the average, too. And its my favorite place to have tempura.
Went there for a date night and was extremely disappointed by the service. Over 40 minutes after ordering drinks and an appetizer, neither had arrived. When we asked our waiter about the drink he came back and told us an ingredient they needed for the drink was not available. Really you couldnt have found that out 40 minutes ago when we placed our order? We changed the drink order and asked about our appetizer and he seemed surprised and went to check on it.The restaurant wasnt very busy, plenty of open tables, but they seemed flustered trying to get orders ready for DoorDash instead of serving their in-restaurant customers. The food eventually came all at once and was okay, nothing special. Since it took so long we didnt have time to get the tempura ice cream we intended on ordering. There was no apology about the delay on our order or any discount applied to the bill.
Reasonably good food and good service. We had a team lunch on a weekday and it was not crowded at all. Tried a mix of roll, sashimi, sushi and bento. The soft shell crab appetizer was good, sashimi was fine and others were average. Its on the main street so finding parking can be slightly difficult.
Came in as an Ubereats driver for a pickup, waited for over an hour for only two sushi rolls before finally being told the restaurant was backed up by an hour. There were several other food delivery drivers waiting for long periods of time too, why keep accepting orders when youre already backed up with normal customers and cant keep up? I wouldnt even have a problem if they told me about the long delay before waiting for so long, I dont respect restaurants that treat delivery drivers like a second thought.
Good place for a quiet evening dinner. Sushi was good for the price, slightly on the expensive side but the variety of rolls and quality made up for the increase in price. Box specials were also good and offered a multitude of combinations to choose from.

Jin and his wife are really passionate about their restaurant and take great care of customers. My girlfriend and I started going a few months ago and its become our go to spot for great sushi. Rumble Fish staff are excellent and I highly recommend trying their Serial Killer roll or the Motorcycle Boy!
Went in to pickup. Server told me to wait outside as the order wasnt done. I waited outside and periodically checked for the order, partly to get away from the cold. Server reminded me to wait outside as order wasnt ready. I waited outside for another 15 minutes and came in to check the order. My order was left on a dining table unattended and without any notice to me. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. There should be some common decency, regardless if Im a consumer or a delivery driver.
Great experience at 4:30 on Sunday with almost all food served immediately. All meals were great: salmon sashimi, orange delight and climax rolls, miso soup, bento box. Only soft shell crab had too much tempura and you couldn’t taste the crab much
Being a gourmand, I prefer quantity when it comes to food. So Sushi is the last thing I prefer when I food hunt during weekends. I wasnt having a great appetite on this day, so I finally decided to give Sushi a try in Rumble Fish.I ordered an Orange Delight roll. The sushi comes with CAL roll stuffing inside the rice with salmon and lemon slice on top outside.I had my first piece and found the lemon slice to be too dominating. Had my second piece removing the lemon slice, and the taste was not bad. Not convinced, I started to experiment a little with my sides. I added a slice of gari on top with two pinches of wasabi to my third piece. It hit me like a hook out of nowhere. The strong flavors of wasabi gari and the lemon tried to dominate one another in my mouth causing sensations I have never felt before. They were then neutralised, finally bringing in the flavor of salmon and rice with CAL stuffing inside. I got my formula right and then it was just bliss from then on savoring the remaining pieces.Its not like I have never had sushi before this. I used to consider them decent. But this dish has helped me realize why there are zesty Sushi fans everywhere. Would definitely visit this place again and explore other dishes :)

We ordered from the place for 2 ppl and it was one of the most disappointing orders I have ever made. When ordering 1 items we got bad taste 2 rolls for $14. Multiply that times 4 and try having a normal dinner... I wouldnt recommend it.

It wasn’t too busy when we came - it was about a 30 minute wait for a table without a reservation but we sat at the bar.I wasn’t terribly impressed with the menu choices that they had and it took a bit to hone in on something I liked. Food was OK - nothing to write home about, and the rolls were coming out so slowly that we would finish one dish before the next part of our order even cameOur service was pretty subpar, I’m sorry to say. Our waitress seemed to sort of forget about us once we were seated and we had to wait a long time for things like plates, chopsticks, water, etc. she seemed to be continually forgetting what she was doing - a nice girl don’t get me wrong - but it seemed like she must have been very newAnyway, it was a fine visit but I don’t think I would come back

We loved the plum wine as well as service once we were seated, but please get ready for some waiting as the place seems to be busy and not handle the busiest times well. Even with reservation we were waiting 30 minutes over our reservation time. Go for food, expect some inconvenience.

Eat at your own risk.If you are not a spicy eater then would recommend the Spicy Tuna. It is only lightly spicy but very flavorful. But one of the best is Tsunami rolls. So many flavors packed in one.

While there is no indoor seating, you can sit outside on Castro and do some people watching. The staff will bring out your food and drinks, which was nice! Meal comes with miso soup and since it was over a certain amount, the gave us a free order of fried goyza. A ton of good food!

Very convenient.The restaurant setting supposed to be upper cut, actually I would say its just above average.Food presentation I gave 6/10, taste 7/10, service 7/10 vs the price.Still, if you really like Japanese cuisine, and you are in the area, its a choice.

2020-03-26 06:21:51I unfortunately wouldn’t order from here again. I got delivery by Uber eats and my total came out to $30 - not a cheap meal. This included a tub of watery and flavorless miso. It also included 8 smallish rolls. This fish on one of them seemed to have a very strange flakey texture that didn’t look fresh, as you can see in the photo. The flavor was not great overall, but I hardly noticed because I was so put off by the strange fish. I ate it anyways because it was so expensive but I really wouldn’t recommend this place.I gave 2 stars because I don’t think I have food poisoning... yet

2019-11-01 17:11:07My friends and I stumbled onto Rumble Fish as we were looking for last minute reservations on Halloween. The service was quick and friendly. Most of their menu I found slightly pricy, however they have a pretty decent offering, so its not difficult to find a dish to your liking (and budget!). I went for their sushi combo of 6 sushi and spicy tuna rolls with a miso soup. Everything tasted fresh (no fishiness at all), but the texture was slightly mushy for most of the fish. Their specialty roll we tried was also similar. Overall, a mediocre, and slightly overpriced, experience.
