Very Expensive but that is to be expected on the main strip. Great Air Conditioner inside. Outdoor seating is lovely.We ordered 2 sandwiches and the meats were high quality, however the baguette bread on both sandwiches was to put it kindly extremely tough. One suggestion might be is to consider adding Dutch Crunch as a bread option for those patrons who enjoy a crunchy crust with a soft center. Regardless five stars for aesthetics and ambiance

This use to be one of my favorite lunch spots and this is my first time eating here since Covid. Salad is half the size it used to be. The grilled cheese sandwich is pretty sad. It’s rubbery doesn’t look like there’s any oil or butter and it’s just this gooey cheese on partially toasted bread.

The guy with the fractured right arm, glasses, gray curly hair, looks to be some sort of supervisor, well He was EXTREMELY unprofessional with his employees, I understand that sometimes people can be slow or some arent getting the hang of things quicker than others, but to throw some down right unnecessary petty shade was not called for, saying things like oh am I going to run this myself (CLEARLY HE CANT) and shes acting like shes new here while saying it to another employee but obviously the shade was towards the girl at the resgister. But the girl at the bar whom he was talking to was taking a while to do my drink. I was not even there for a full 10 minutes when all this was said and done in front of me, a customer. I CANT imagine an all day shift. This is BULLYING and Im not okay with that, if the girl cant meet the standards, then simply let her go, there is NO NEED to bully and say stuff like that, you can clearly see they have a hostile work environment with this man here.

Just another “Starbs Girl” fad. Pay extra for literally nothing. Make any one of their items at home for half the price, time, and effort, and you’d get double the quality. Breakfast burrito was sad.

Consistently delicious a great spot for pastries or lunch. Im never disappointed. The kale Caesar with a scoop of tuna is one of my favorites. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean. A wonderful mix of indoor and outdoor seating.

I went to tried one of their baked goods, there were just three options. Overpriced for the quality they offered, I liked their quiche but the “turkey sandwich” for my son was literally a piece of bread with two slices of turkey, really disappointing

Food was DELICIOUS! BEST breakfast burrito Ive had in years and the yogurt parfait was just as good. The service in Novato was much better than. My first experience at Rustic earlier this year at the location in Marin County mart in which the staff member lied to me and then charged me 2x! This past weekend experience at Rustic Novato definitely made up for it.

I really enjoy this bakery. I think their breads are fantastic and they’ll slice it for you. You gotta go early if you want certain pastries. They run out of stuff quickly which is the only reason i gave it 4 stars. I have been there at 2:30 and there was very little. Everything I have purchased is always delicious!

First time here and I think Im hooked. I got the florentine croissant and scrambled eggs. They were out of chai so they promptly refunded me without me asking and when I asked for a different beverage, she gave it to me on the house. I dont expect that everytime but I am very grateful for the delicious food and lovely customer service I received. & I dont really write reviews. I just want to say also, everyone seemed to be working so hard and yet had such positive attitudes. Thanks for your hard work and starting my day off right!

Rustic Bakery, PLEASE answer your phone.Calling them with no answer has been a problem Ive experienced for years now, and I see from other reviews that I am not alone in this frustration.I am a nurse and my breaks are few and far between, so this past Friday when I found a miraculous sliver of time that I could quickly run over to grab a salad and bring it back to work, I decided to treat myself (also being aware to order directly from the restaurant these days to help them avoid a cut in their profit from DoorDash). I placed an online order and arrived at my designated pick-up time. Not only did I stand around waiting 12 extra minutes after the promised time, my order was missing the extra avocado ($2.95) and dressing ($1.50) of which Id ordered and paid. (Word to the wise, always double check that your order is correct before leaving the bakery.) And because I was now in an anxious rush to return to work (due to the lateness of my order), I left quickly, without checking inside my bag. The ChowNow app does not have an option to dispute an order, so I called later to follow up about a refund for the missing items, no answer. And no answer the following day. And so on. A critical Yelp review is now my best option for communicating with management. I am well aware the pandemic has put a strain on the service industry, but the phone answering issue has been going on for years before COVID. Please help your time-sensitive customers out here, Rustic. Im going to be taking a long hiatus from to go orders, its not worth it to me any more.

Great Pastries.In terms of coffee, I ordered a Cappuccino. It was just ok. The milk was slightly over-steamed, and it was very hot, although not burnt.Service was amazing, very talkative, helpful, and knowledgeable employees.Overall, a very good experience.

Not typically my kind of lunch place. Went with a colleague and was very pleasantly surprised to experience a truly unique and delicious sandwich, and an excellent latte for $11. Not cheap eats but great quality for less than the cost of a glass of wine in Marin.

Im giving 2 stars because I like the food. Terrible customer service today. I wanted the shrimp/egg on lettuce sandwich without the bread and was told they could not serve it to me without the bread. I asked for a slice or two of lettuce instead of the bread because I dont eat flour, and they told me I could not do that. I had iced tea while my friend ate lunch. I tried her onion/leek soup and it was so delicious I ordered one to go, without the croutons. They put croutons in, and by the time I got it home to eat 2 hours later the croutons had broken down and my soup was filled with bits of bread. Basically I paid $8 for 1/3 cup of soup by the time I fished out all the bread. Poor customer service=poor management. While I love the food, Ill be more inclined to spend my money elsewhere.Also, website says Contact, but its simply a page to sign up for the newsletter.

Never seen anything so small in a restaurant setting. At Costco as a sample, yes, but not in a restaurant / bakery setting.

Young girl at the register has zero customer service. At the bare minimum you should greet your customers when they come in and thank them when they leave. Especially in a restaurant type business. I felt like I was putting her out for showing up 45 min before they close. Register order taker with an attitude.Dark hair, maybe 20ish years old. Definitely needs training or a new job. One experience was enough for me. Sadly reflects on the manager if there is one. I wont be back. I dont care if the food is good. Ill spend my money elsewhere.

This place does so many things right. Food and coffee across the board are top notch. The one thing it does wrong however it does really wrong. I have been coming here since it opened and i cant tell you how many times they have gotten either my order or my familys orders wrong. It is indescribable. Truly a laughing point among family and friends. However I am sitting in the coffee shop right now, enjoying a delicious croissant and cup of coffee. Bottom line, it is a great place with great food, but be prepared to double check or send back your order.

I dont eat a lot of things here, because I really like the Asian chicken salad. I probably eat at least twice a week. Also, they have Stumptown coffee which is reason enough to come here. It aint cheap, but youll definitely get something good. WARNING: The pastries and treats on display will kill you if you walk in on a diet. They are pretty amazing.

I keep trying to give this place a try. Every single time met with unfriendly, lazy baristas. An iced vanilla latte should never take more than 2 minutes especially when there are no other customers in line. Ive been a barista for 5 years and I just cant believe management is keeping these kids on. After waiting 10+ minutes and making eye contact with all 4 people behind the register, I walked out on my $6 drink and headed to Peets. Probably about 10 people ahead of me and I still got my drink in under 5 minutes.

Im a huge fan of Rustic Bakery, and theres not a thing wrong with the small and cozy version youll find in Novato. It offers the same great coffees, amazing lattes and baked good, but where it falls down is selection. Compared to the Marin Country Mart store its lacking. The place is relatively small with some counter seating, a good number of tables inside and yes, even some outdoor dining. The lack of space for baked goods sweet and savory is obvious. What they offer is just as good as the other two locations, but the selection falls short.

I do hope the owner/s will take the time to read this. Our small town of Novato really needed such a great place....I have really enjoyed Rustic Bakery foods. Sadly I will not be returning. Having a glass window into the bakery prep area used to be a nice touch....making you feel that the preparation of your food is clean and sanitary....very important to me and my family.Two disgusting things have been observed through the glass by my daughter and I on our last two visits;1) hundreds of flies on the inside of the glass, buzzing around the batters, landing on the unbaked breads, AND rolled right into a cinnamon bun while being formed. YUCH...2) ungloved hands working the batter while also wiping her nose with the back of her hand several times...YUCH again....this place needs some serious management and sanitary rules taught to the staff.

NO SOCIAL DISTANCING.People socializing over morning coffee while inside the bakery. Masks down. Dangerous place for the elderly. BEWARE. Management is for 40 years and younger. Go to DR. INSOMNIACS. This is not a review of the Rustic Bakery at this location only; it applies to Rustic Bakery as a whole. They sell online but they dont give contact information. I would not buy their products anywhere: their allegedly organic wild mushroom and white truffle flatbread is not organic. Had I been able to email them I would have said, Your Wild Mushroon and White Truffle flatbread contains white truffle oil. According to E-How Truffle oil is considered an inexpensive alternative to actual truffles. But truffle oil may not be what you think it is. Truffle oil is made from an olive oil base to which aromatic ingredients are added to mimic the taste of either black or white truffles. The primary ingredient is a synthetic thioether called 2,4 dithiapentane, which produces an scent and flavor similar to real truffles. Other organic aromatics are also added to give a taste closer to either black or white truffles. Real truffles are extremely expensive, so some people consider this less costly alternative a reasonable option for producing truffle-flavored dishes..I feel their organic claim is unsupportable and a dishonest way to cut corners in order to sell cheaply.
