Ryoshin Sushi in Belmont

This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Every bite is melt in your mouth delicious. You know it’s a good sushi spot when their sushi rice is perfect. The ratio of the rice to fish is exactly how it should be done. Hands down our favorite spot. We usually get take out. Easy to order by phone or online. No issues with pick up times we usually place our orders 30 minutes before arriving. Staff is always courteous. Parking is on the back street or usually you can find some street parking right in front. If you love sushi you have to check out this local gem.

Great local sushi place. The interior is intimate and the wait staff is friendly and efficient. There is a good selection of sushi and there are daily specials as well. There is a restroom but need to go outside to access it. The sushi tacos are good as well as the unagi don and unagi nigiri. Authentic Japanese sushi, not trendy.

This restaurant is run by Chinese not Japanese. Inside the restaurant can only sit for 6 tables. Service is fast and friendly. Price is reasonable. Food is fresh. However, it is not authentic Japanese style food. But we will definitely visit it again. We have free pudding to finish our meal. Recommended to everyone.

I m very disappointed by the size of the fish, wished I had taken picture .fish size is literally size of 2 thumbnails / 1.5 quarters . The size of their fish and sushi is 1/3 comparing to other Japanese restaurant, with same price point . Know they have to cut cost, but this is too much ! The size is only worth if they are selling 50% from the menu price, since size is 50% less than any ordinary adult food size!but ordered chirashi & wood pressed sushi .the wood pressed sushi is 85% rice, fish on it is super thin, thick like 3 dimes stack together . Again tiny size like 1.5 quarter put together. Rice is warm, very weird for sushi rice .The fish are good size for growing infants not adult !The 2 star is for the Millie crepe cake which surprisingly is the highlight of the meal ! Very authentic and yummy. We ordered the 10 piece Yamasaki with uni. Very fresh and tasty. See photo!We visited this restaurant again today. Every thing is great. The baked mussel is amazing!!! I also like the cream crepe. So Yummy!

To go review: chose a local spot for dinner and it was alright. Our rolls were a bit smaller than expected at that price point but I guess thats inflation right? The inside of the restaurant seemed TINY though like the size of a 1 car garage. Anyways, the 49ers roll was decent but I think 3 sake hand rolls would be a better value haha.Food: 7/10Value: 4/10

Update as of June 2018Still very good and fresh since discovering on 2016.Very cozy small spot.Although this is non Japanese owned, their food, quality and customer service is very good, worth every buck.Not a great place for big groups for they have 2 tables that can accommodate 4 folks at a time.This is a very popular place to to go/take outs.

This place has our most fav sushi in the bay! We go there every week! The chef and the waitress are really friendly. You even get a free jelly dessert at the end! Tips: Order fish from the special menu!

Look no further for fresh, authentic and mouth watering sushi! They carry several different selection of fresh fish from Japan. All very carefully selected and served. The nigiris I tried were on par with those served in Michelin star restaurants. Don’t pay attention to bad reviews that say the portions are small, this is how authentic sushi (nigiri and sashimi) should be. You are not supposed to eat a big chunk of rice with mediocre quality fish on top as they serve in ordinary sushi joints. It is the quality of the fish, not the size of the rice :) In fact, smaller the rice, the better. This place definitely deserves 5 stars for the quality of the food and the service.

I dont care what their sushi tastes like. If they cant produce in a reasonable time, there is a serious issue with their kitchen. I ordered ahead of time (35 mins) via Uber Eats. App said the order was ready for pickup. So I show up and have to wait outside for another 20-30 mins. To be honest, I gave up counting minutes. All I know is just wandering around the store while I wait relentlessly. It wasnt even just me. 4 other persons were sitting outside for their pickups. Wont be returning with this degree of incompetence.
