2023-12-13 02:29:11This place is phenominal. You know a sushi place is real when the chef is picky with the ingredients. We were lucky to go when it wasn’t busy; the chef had the time to show us the fresh, lively crab before frying them! He also showed us the uni imported straight from Fukuoka, as well as other fish that you cannot find from the U.S. markets. I was really impressed with the selectivity of the ingredients sources! The atmosphere 5/5You can choose to dine either indoors or at the outdoor patio, and both are private and romantic. Not too dark, not too bright. It’s a perfect place for a date night, but the food is so good many people come alone too!The food 5/5I’ve been to countless sushi places throughout my life, but I never thought I’d find the best in Los Angeles. I think this place had fresher sushi than the places in Japan I’ve been to!Every. Single. Dish had a wow-factor. Trust me when I say these dishes taste better than they look. The sushi just MELT in your mouth, with the perfect texture and bounciness you can have with only real, fresh fish. Absolutely no fishy smell, the plating —even though the chef does them in seconds— is beautiful.Service 5/5You’re greeted as soon as you walk in, but be prepared for a wait when it’s busy. The chef had great pride in every dish, and you can tell he puts his heart into his food! I love it when passionate chefs genuinely care, and you tell by the food too.The waitresses were extremely sweet and attentive, even when it became busy. Some of the menus gets sold out fast, like the baby yellowtail, so you must come early! However, all the dishes were delicious, so just go with an open mind and you won’t be disappointed.I recommend ALL my friends to go :) my new favorite spot!

2024-05-24 17:09:02When I come here, I like to sit at the bar for a more personal experience with Sachi and the other chefs. The host is kind, and Sachi has been accommodating each time. My partner and I had a craving at 9:30pm and Sachi still allowed us to order even though it closed at 9:30 (a Thursday in May ‘24). Another time, I ordered takeout right before closing and it was well packed and prepared fast.As far as food, I love the snow crab and spicy tuna hand rolls for a quick and filling bite. My partner loves the New Hollywood Boy - high quality wagyu beef from Japan.

2024-03-20 15:11:10Underrated small Japanese restaurant in a prime location. How could we be one of two tables during lunch hour?We enjoyed an excellently prepared selection of nigiris. The chef even included their special of whole edible crabs. The woman who served us was so thoughtful, to the point when I told my son to be careful of the hot soup, she said she added ice cubes to make it the perfect sippable temperature. I love this kind of care.

2024-07-05 00:20:36The sushi melts in your mouth, you can taste each ingredient. There’s no fishy smell-aftertaste. I’ve been here both dinner and lunch and they each have different menus. I’ve been to Japan countless times but I’ve never tasted sushi this good in Japan. The staff immediately greeted us as soon as we walked in, and the waitresses were kind and friendly. We were also lucky to hold and play with a live crab before it got grilled.

2021-11-11 00:12:24This place was the most authentic sushi bar in the neighborhood. We visited on Friday night and there were not too many people. The patio that we sat in was decorated in a very warm and relaxing way. Exceptional for a low-key date.We ordered the tuna & sushi omakase. Very friendly for people who have difficulty choosing. The dishes served were extremely fresh and palatable. The waiter has selected the wine for us to pair with the tuna. The price was very reasonable for the food and service that they offered. The street parking was abundant and cheap!!

2021-09-01 02:39:26Easily rated a 5 stars based on taste and customer service. The portion sizes for what I got was a bit tiny. Very thin layer of rice and a small nickel size filling. I ended up ordering two rounds of my two orders because it was so tasty and so tiny. Pricing varies from reasonable to a bit more pricey, depending on what you order. My server had so much etiquette and a quiet professional demeanor. It was very relaxing and pleasant. The patio was cute and relaxing. Perfect little mode and great for a low key cite date. 😊

2023-02-23 05:19:53Came in randomly and could not imagine we would have the most special, authentic and fresh Japanese meal. The sushi man selection, attention, service was impeccable along the waitress and other helpers. Will surely be back when in town next time.

2023-10-08 03:09:25The food was ok. I was underwhelmed by the lobster and scallops it looks exciting when you see the tail and then realise its a weird type of cheese with bits of lobster and scallops. The salmon sashimi was nice and presentation awesome

2024-05-23 20:32:10I went to this restaurant on a whim. By far, the brightest stars were the lamb chops and hamachi kama (yellowtail collar) appetizers - I’d highly recommend those items for first-timers.We also ordered the 10-piece nigiri tasting. I was particularly impressed by the barracuda nigiri and scallop nigiri (I normally don’t like scallops, so that was a nice surprise!). My partner got the baked crab hand roll and said it was also delicious. The restaurant has a nice little patio seating area.
