Low price Great food .Parking was great and line wasnt long at all. They have tons of items on their menu and I ordered the #9 Shrimp and Veggie tempura combo (spicy). Service was friendly and the portions were good size. The food was good except I didnt care for the macaroni salad tasted like there was too much mustard but I will definitely go back and try something else. Also they ONLY ACCEPT cash so make sure you are not using a debit card here!They updated the entire place looks amazing coming back for you sooon !

This place has been around for a very long time, I use to stop by this place after high school several times throughout the week. And still today whenever I come across a job in the area its either Mikes deli or this place! The food is always good and fresh but I havent tried the sushi yet. Im a fan of sushi but very picky of where I get it from. The teriyaki sauce is amazing and I love the fact they give you the option of hot, mixed or mild! The mixed flavor is perfect! The hot isnt to hot but It can take away from the flavor! Keep up the good quality food and Ill keep returning!

Tried this for the first time. The place was busy with people and the people working there were nice. Food was not traditional and extremely dry. Ordered chicken teriyaki and it was so dry and tough. Even the shrimp tempura was overly dry and tasted of oil. Ive had better.

Ive been eating here since the late 90s. When I moved from LA to Riverside, the visits are few are far between. But I will make that 50 minute drive for some Sachi lol.. Its still the same as far as taste go. I only get the same thing so Im never disappointed. I stick with what works for me. Try the fresh ginger and pickled cabbage slaw. Very tasty.

I understand this is not a sushi place. However if you are going to serve sushi at all, please do it right. This tasted like cat food salmon instead of regular salmon that goes in a Philadelphia Roll. So much cream cheese. I also got the chicken teriyaki but that had a questionable taste to it as well. I hate to be so blunt; but I would never return here and advice ANYONE who likes teriyaki/and or sushi to not come here.

This famous teriyaki house has certainly set the bar for Japanese comfort food on the westside of Los Angeles. Located on the corner of well known Slauson and Overhill, this place is a must stop for lunch or dinner. Ive been going here for 20 years!It is a very small restaurant with most customers taking their food to go. They did however finish a remodel a few years back adding more tables and chairs to their patio with beautiful plants surrounding.I must note that this not a sushi joint they only have a few sushi rolls to choose from. Again, they are a teriyaki house so dont come for a strickly sushi dining experience. I do however love their dream roll.Another cool thing about this place is most of their staff have worked there for decades only adding to the consistent quality.

1st timer .. based on the reviews I read, I had an overall good experience .. it was quiet so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the cool breeze. I ordered the chicken & beef combo plate.. the beef was very delicious though the chicken lacked flavor and it was very fatty . All and all I give it a 8 of 10

Not a huge fan of teriyaki, came here for lunch with my boyfriend (first time) food is pretty good I had the #101 the salmon & California roll (without teriyaki sauce lol). The lady who took my order at the register seemed a little standoffish but then she ended up being pretty cool. Not a whole lot of room inside for seating we ended up sitting outside at one of the community tables and the people were pretty friendly. I would eat here again!

Yet another business in the community with a 90% customer base but not one Black face behind the counter. Top of off with the nickel and diming for a my sauce or ginger. They determine what you get with your order and you must pay for anything else and if you don’t ask for it you don’t get anything. Have some respect for your customers. I eat out from Redondo to Santa Monica and only in our hood is there a charge for how I want to eat the food I order.

This place is a 5 star every single visit. Known for their teriyaki and chicken and they definitely live up to their establishments purpose. Its such a joy to have chefs of the cuisine in the kitchen making your food. For me that is the absolute best. I love Japanese food and used to live in little tokyo in downtown eating udon, yakisoba, tempura, ramen and sushi. A family member introduced me to this spit years ago, and since then, Ive never needed to drive out of my way to downtown, when I could get superior food less than ten minutes away from home, and absolutely ten times more affordable. I cldnt believe how they managed to only increase their prices by cents to a dollar from the pandemic in 2020 to inflation in almost 2023. Many of the places I used to frequent have literally gone up 2 to 3 dollars and gone down in quality of cooks and staff. My absolute go tos are the teriyaki plates, curry yuuuuuuuum and the udon soups...and sushi for dessert :) love the staff. Guy who takes the orders is great, and the lady who packs them, Bless her heart. She remembered me after not eating there for two yrs due to the pandemic. Bless this institution for choosing our hood. What a gem.

Today was my first time here, I wasnt satisfied with the chicken and I was hesitant to make a call. So I went ahead and called and I was treated with the upmost concern. So I explained to you you Eugene what whats wrong with my food, and he didnt hesitate tell me to come and get a new one. He took good care and had a brand new order by the time I arrived. The quality of food is beyond 5 stars to me! I am definite going back. Overall everything was delicious 😋. Sushi rolls where my favorite too. If I could give them more than five stars I would! Ive been patronizing this spot since the 90s. Its a personal fave. They have maintained consistency and good flavor for all of these years.Love the curry bowls ( they boast some of the best and Ive tried several). The tempura is crispy, crunchy and flavored. I adore the sushi. You really cant go wrong with anything on the menu.They only accept cash but it is well worth the inconvenience and they have an atm inside.

I love this eatery. I have been a customer for over 15 years and their food is always the same (good). Never disappointed even when I try something that I would normally not order. The reason I am rating them a 4 is because the last time I was there (about 2 wks ago) they had hired a new employee & the guy made a minor mistake. The guy ( a relative) that was supervising him was very rude to him. He stated that he just caused them to have to give that customer something for free because of his error. I felt he should have reprimanded him out of earshot of their customers.

There is no way i could ever fault these guys simply because they have been my neighborhood lunch place my entire life. In the grand scheme of things, they are far from perfect, but to me and anyone who lives in the area cant deny how homely they are to the community.This is the type of place many would simply pass by if they werent in the area, but if you live in the area or are new to the area, you can quickly gravitate to this place as being a usual lunch/dinner place for you. Its nothing special, and thats what makes it a great place for me. That may sound boring and dull, but anyone who has a place like this in the hometown area will quickly understand.

No longer live in Los Angeles I havent been to the Sachi in a while. That being said every time I go back to Los Angeles thats one of the first places I go to. They have amazing food at reasonable prices. They only take cash so be warned but they do have an ATM machine. Im a pretty loyal kind of guy, I usually order the same thing. That is the teriyaki chicken tempura brown rice and double green salad. And I have to say is a green salad hes not really a green salad is probably my favorite thing there. They are very sweet and kind and honest. If you havent Hankering for Japanese food or other types of Asian dont stop but run here now. Im not sure if theyre open for indoor dining right now but they definitely have takeout and delivery. I just cant say enough about this place.

There are 3 different people that work the register and they quote you prices for something that you and your co workers order all the time. Its even more of a slap in the face when the woman says Actually we have never sold our chicken bowls that way as if I havent been ordering the same thing for past 3 days.Whats even worse is that they DONT take debit in 2016.So the prices inflate depending on whose at the register AND its cash only.THUMBS DOWN

We have been ordering from Sachis for many years. Usually we have no complaints, but last week, I ordered two Beef Teriyaki Bowls and the Shrimp and Tempura Plate. The rice in all three dishes was mushy! My 16 year old granddaughter even complained - obviously, whoever rinsed the rice and prepared it for cooking did not thumb-measure the water. Usually, I can make fried rice the next morning with the leftover rice, but the rice was so mushy that it stuck to the pan and I had to end up throwing the rice away. I was very disappointed!

I usually never write a review, but I was truly disappointed with the sushi I received today. First of all, the rolls are huge, so huge I found it easier to just pick it up and eat it. The rock n roll was okay, but the Philadelphia roll was TERRIBLE. Way too much cream cheese & the sushi roll was just bland, I couldn’t even eat it. If you’re like me and HATE wasting money, please avoid this place or don’t purchase their sushi.

I purchase a number 57 the taste of the food is good but the chicken is not consistent. Today’s chicken was so dry everybody in the house was coughing. Who serve teriyaki chicken like that. You can tell they using those cheap thighs because the femur muscle is hard. He could have soak the chicken before serving that mess out to people. Never consistent. This is one of the most affordable sushi places in the city. They offer a wide array of sushi, curry, and teriyaki bowls. They also offer vegetarian options including their tofu curry bowl. The service is always welcoming and open since this place is often considered a neighborhood restaurant. Seating is limited so the large majority of customers stick to pick up. Sachi has been my “go to place” for years, but in the past few months my order is always WRONG. Last week I ordered Udon noodle soup, light on the noodles, with extra broth. I got the opposite a ton of noodles no broth. Today 7/21/2020, I placed an order for my daughter, (because I swore I wasn’t going to order from them anymore). Anyway I ordered the 101. Calif. rolls with salmon, mild sauce . There wasn’t any sauce at all on the salmon I’m done with Sachi’s. I know who’s working on what days because they can never get my order right, even after they have repeated to me. Maybe I should use a different nameEverybody working today, needs to be retrain. This place has really good teriyaki but my first time trying their sushi today was not a good experience. I got the dragon roll and everything on it was done right, except for the eel. The eel was terrible. It was not properly filleted and the rolls were cut extremely too thick to eat in one bite. The eel pretty much had all of the skin on it and the skin is too thick and too chewy to eat on a sushi roll. I pretty much had to just take the eel off and salvage what I could on the rest of the roll. Eventually I just threw it away. That was $17 straight into the trash. I was highly dissatisfied with the eel but otherwise the teriayki is great.

I grew up in the immediate neighborhood and for over 20 years I have loved Sachi. Unfortunately, the original owner sold it a few years ago, and although its almost the same, there are subtle changes in the quality. Overall though its a good option for relative fast food. Im glad they are still in the neighborhood. So, the chicken bowl is still delicious. The sauteed veggies are on point. The curry is not bad and the salmon is always fresh.The biggest menu change for me is the shumai. It went from small delicate fluffy pillows filled with actual meat and veggies to this large block of dough. I dont even see the meat in it any longer. They also use it in the wonton soup as a wonton - which it is not! I cant even eat them because there is no identifiable filling inside of them. How sad...

Hard to find good teryiaki here in the US. after a year in Japan but you can find tasty teriyaki offerings here. The place isnt much to look atabd they are a bit lazy and careless with the chopping of tthe chicken so be careful. They only take cash (ATM on the premises) but the food is worth a visit.
