We enjoyed the food here very much and loved walking around town afterward. It’s located in a cute courtyard and our friends were able to bring their fur babies because they had plenty of outdoor seating. Service was great and the gelato looked very legit. They didn’t have the large mounts with nuclear color gelatos- it looked very tasty. There were plenty of vegan options here and healthy choices too with lots of fresh squeezed juices.

In Pasadena, California, for the day. Tried Sage Plant Based Bistro. The food is off the chain, and the portions are massive. All had great flavors and arrived at the table hot.Just try it. Take your wallet and some cash. Trust me, youre gonna need it.Mac and cheese, califlower wings to start. The wife had a Miso Rainbow bowl, and the adult child had a Brazilian bowl. I tried the Cali avacado Pesto Burger as our main dishes.The dessert was next. We shared a brownie sundae and peanut butter chocolate cake.I topped it off with a hot apple cider to drink.It was all good. Just take a big appetite and enjoy fresh, locally grown food. Theyre Vegan 🍃 and no matter what you order; Your body will Appreciate it!!On this particular review; I posted my Brazilian Bowl that I had ordered for take out!! The video doesnt do it much justice!! You have to see it, try it and smell it in person to understand why Im kind of Obsessed w/ it.** I happen to work across the st from it, and I promise, I need to find another job far from Sage Bistro because this scrumptious temptation is getting the best of me!! A nice, happening vegan restaurant. Ive gone twice. Each time has been good—plenty of options. A little pricey, but I think justifiable with the portions & atmosphere. The food is good; so far havent had anything outstanding. I was so happy about the lasagna since Ive only had a handful of times since I went vegan. Many drink options, alcoholic & none alcohol. Service has been okay. Restrooms are a little tricky since they dont have their own. Its shared restrooms with the other businesses.

I ventured to try the spicy tempeh ramen, enticed by the notion of blackened tempeh as described. Unfortunately, the actual presentation resembled more of a charcoal consistency, rendering it inedible with a pervasive burnt taste. While the ramen itself was satisfactory but not exceptional, the redeeming factor was the broth—an excellent blend of flavors with a perfect spice quotient.Despite my disappointment in the charred tempeh, I appreciated all the vegan dishes available! Although I hesitate to recommend this specific dish, I remain open to exploring other vegan options upon a future visit. The establishment exudes a pleasant ambiance, complemented by a staff that radiates friendliness.

This is the second location I’ve been too. I’ve tried something different every time and everything has been really really really good so far. This time it was the lasagna and the eggplant Parmesan, both were great. Also got one of the wellness shots which was really good too. Good costumer service, food was served fast even though it was relatively busy. Thanks again for a really good experience.

Possibly my favorite restaurant in LA. As a vegan, Im OVERWHELMED with options (all things that I can eat!!!l) Ive not had a single thing here that wasnt absolutely delicious. Fantastic spot for a date/special celebration. Wonderful atmosphere in a really cute location. Service is fast, and staff are very nice. :)Favorite things Ive tried are the blueberry banana pancakes and the chicken sandwich!

Excellent first time experience here! So nice to find an upscale all vegan restaurant that feels like a date night destination. All the food was great, the atmosphere was very pleasant and our server Matthew was friendly and helpful with recommendations. I highly recommend the fried artichoke appetizer and farmers lemonade! So so good. I really enjoyed the butternut squash ravioli, which was totally different than anything Ive ever had. Very unique, flavorful and filling. Definitely would love to come back and try everything on the menu. Even my non-vegan partner really enjoyed it. A must try place! (Just be aware that that there are upscale prices as well.)

I went there on the Presidents day with my family & friends .Everything was so ~yummy !! The service was great, too !! I dislike many health food restaurants because they are usually very expensive & the staff are not friendly. But,not this one !! I had some salad, forgot the name now . Also vegan eggplant parmesan bowl which was insanely good !! Everyone was very satisfied with what they ordered !! Mom had vegan orange chicken which was cauliflower & spicy, she wanna try make it at home !! Id love to go back there soon !! I highly recommend this restaurant !! Being Vegan this place is really good. Have been to the Echo park location and decided to try Pasadena next. We just shared a bunch of appetizers.. Stand outs were the 3 wing platter, Jackfruit Stuffed Avocado, Esquites, and Fried Artichoke Hearts. Unfortunately the Pozole Rojo was bland at this location. Tried it at Echo park and it was really good so maybe different cook different tastes.. also they served it with lettuce on the side this time which was a first. Overall great experience will come back.

Great food and service. The service was friendly the food was good. Im not vegan or vegetarian and I must say the food was great! A must try is the mac and cheese. It was so creamy and good! I had the lasagna and the spicy margarita. I will for sure come back.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant. My son had been here before and said it was good. We came when my son was in town as a treat. We were very disappointed. They are trying too hard to be like a regular restaurant. There are a lot of deep fried foods on the menu many of them geared to mimic chicken, beef or fish. The food was bland. I was looking for a dish that stood on its own, not one that was supposed to taste like meat. In addition the service was awful. They only had 2 servers to cover the entire restaurant, which was completely full. The server never came back to our table to check on us to see if we needed anything. It took what seemed like forever to get our check and just as long to pay for our food. Definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

Completely disappointed with the food taste.It took them 35 minutes to sit us down. They said 30 minutes wait and after hearing them seat down parties of two without reservation we went to the hostess and she sat us immediately. She was obviously making mistakes with the list and waiting time. We were disappointed with the menu. It is limited and repetitive, basically the same thing but in a bowl or a tortilla. Ended up getting nachos and a breakfast bowl, both were just plain. Tasteless. We’re not going back to this place and I do not recommend it.We ordered a brownie Sunday and it seemed like they used ROTTEN coconut milk, it was bitter and horrible tasting. We didn’t finish it.The coconut beer was awesome, they would do better just sticking to the brewery.

Love the concept, design and most of the flavors but execution was a bit off. Most dishes were too salty. Buffalo cauliflower was delicious and cooked well. Farm pizza ingredients were fresh but the dough was soft and undercooked. Loaded nachos were too salty and the chips were stale. Even my $10 beer was flat. Wait was 40 min and highly recommend checking in on Yelp. Had to wait outside in the scorching sun. Service was friendly. Restrooms are a hassle to go upstairs.

On paper, the food sounds very good but in reality, execution and taste really fall flat. We ordered the soft pretzels with 3 dipping sauces to start. The pretzels were very doughy while the sauces were...interesting.The potato and broccoli ravioli might be the single most questionable plating Ive seen in a long, long time. As for the taste, think about what a potsticker and gnocchi combined would taste like. Its just not what youd expect out of ravioli. The accompanying kale was too sour from excess balsamic.The orange tempura cauliflower bowl unfortunately came with a massive amount of soggy cauliflower. Its a decent pick if youre okay with eating tons of cruciferous, overcooked veggies.

I have this place saved for a while. Ive been a little hesitant to go because I wasnt sure what to expect.I was surprised how good the food is.For vegan food the chili cheese fries taste just like regular chili cheese fries. Would have never known the difference.The Brazilian burrito was so good. It has plantains, mushrooms, black beans and other really good ingredients.The mac and cheese pizza is good. A little odd honestly but good.The broccoli on the pizza could have been cooked down a little bit more. Thats my only complaint about the pizza.The ice cream station has good ice cream. The acai is creamy and delicious. And has good flavor to it. And so does the cookies and cream.I will definitely be back to try other things from the menu

What we ordered? Baja Avocado Tacos, Eggplant Barbacoa Tacos, and Brazilian Bowl.I treated the girls on my team to lunch here last month. We sat outside on the patio which was quiet and not busy when we arrived. The food was fresh and arrived quick. This restaurant is all vegan and has a variety of options to choose from. We ordered tacos and a bowl. The tacos were a bit messy and were easier to eat with a fork. The portions are large and definitely left us feeling full! I plan on coming back soon and trying some of their other options. There is so much to choose from and it is amazing it is all plant based!

This place is AMAZING. All their food is crafted with such care, bursting with exciting flavor. Come here for a farm-to-table feel, and a great culinary adventure. I came here after several reviews raved about their gluten free food. I have to admit, I was excited to try it and it mostly lived up to the hype. Anytime I can get friend gluten free food its a win, but I was disappointed that the wings tasted slightly freezer burned and were a tad soggy so I ate around those parts. My coconut milk latte was way sweeter than anticipated which wasnt my favorite. The service was really good and the locations is so cute. They do validate your parking if you are in certain lots like the schoolhouse garage.

We have eaten in here & I order lunch here regularly and it is consistently excellent!All vegan & organic is very difficult to find, so this place is a Mecca for me!I order the taco salad all of the time & it is super flavorful, filling & most importantly, I feel great after eating it. It is $22, which is a little pricey- but it costs close to $16 for a loaded bowl at chipotle, and that is not organic, and it’s much lower quality ingredients.So for $6 more this taco salad is worth every penny! The highlight of this dish is the jackfruit & black beans which is a fabulous combo and the pickled onions, and the dressing is just perfect! It also comes served on a tostada chip - it satisfies every craving! Crunchy, sweet, savory & filling!I bring everyone that visits me here, and every person that I have eaten here with also had an amazing meal!I have also had multiple pizzas here, and it is in the top three vegan pizzas I have ever had!Parking is tricky. To pick up delivery you have to park in a loading zone on union & put your hazards on. (They told me to do this the first time I picked up delivery and it seemed awkward at first, but now I am used to it.)If you eat inside the restaurant they validate parking - but only for specific parking garages - so I would call ahead and get the names of the parking garages they validate for so you can park for free. Otherwise, the parking garages run about $15.The area is very busy, and it’s hard to find street parking, so you can park on the street, but it’s challenging especially if you come in the evening or on a weekend.

I am very happy to have a whole restaurant which provides 100% vegan alternatives to classic American grub. I brought regular meat-eaters with me and they left happy and impressed. Very tasty food at this restaurant. So glad that they are all plant based so you can pretty much order anything. Their brunch was very delicious. Only feedback would be if they could offer more sides for brunch and of the sides listed werent as great as the main meal was. 3-4 startsI used to be a huge fan of Sage. During COVID, I ordered delivery for a few times, every time I got more disappointed. Because the small portion of food and after the wait, it doesnt taste as good as in person.Now post- pandemic, we decided to come back. They dont take reservations but there is a wait. Youll have to use their iPad to put your name on the waitlist.The food was ok. Buffalo wings plate was really tasty but it was fried a bit too long. It looked like they got burnt.White pizza was good I think. Didnt try it. Ravioli is always my favorite dish at Sage. My friend is not vegan or vegetarian, he was ok with the food. Probably too much kales for him. Lol.I got lasagna which was good. Relatively small portion. There was zucchini in the lasagna which was not what I expected.Beef sandwich (I dont remember the name of it) I think it tasted pretty good. On the savory and more salty side. Overall our in person dinning experience was much better than delivery experiences. I hope this will continue to improve and get better.

Worst service ive ever experienced. Hot day monday noon stood by the door for 10 minutes and we had to yell hello for someone to come and greet us. We sat at the table no one came to put cup for us so we can drink water. We had to ask for it. Asked for a certain drinks and they hd no info to give us. We had to show a picture from yelp. The champagne they got us had no bubbles it sat out for along time and we had to ask for another one. The food was good the interior is cool.

Ive tried 8-10 items on Sages menu and I have to say--this is probably one of the worst vegan restaurants in LA. Most of their dishes have a sour after taste. The BBQ jackfruit sandwich, the Tuna melt, the burgers. The cauliflower ravioli gave me stomach issues. And when you order dessert for delivery, they will often forget additional things like the fudge for their brownie. The overall vibe is lackluster. Id recommend a place like Real Food Daily instead.

Such a Comprehensive menu! It’s so nice not to worry about whether something is vegan or not; It’s all vegan! Even though some items might not sound like it (chili cheese fries, lasagna).We got the Bollywood and Soul Bowls and they were very tasty. Bollywood was a bit on the spicy side though. Kale was cooked to perfection!Bakery items and gelato sold as well. Very cute venue.Have to park on the street and walk in through the alleyway. Great service, not busy during lunch. We came here to celebrate our anniversary, were expecting a nice dinner. But this place went above our tastebuds expectations. When you think vegan, you think you wont get full, but u do and u get satisfied with every bite. The wings were crunchy and very tasty. The ranch went well with the wings. By the time we got the pizza, half our wings were gone. We couldnt finish all the great food so we got some for lunch the next day. The banana split brownie melts in your mouth! Everyone that wants to try the vegan experience at least once and the service Is attentive and very pleasing! Will be back!

This is the first time visiting and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but I really enjoyed my Cali Avocado Pesto Vegan burger, its a Tempeh burger with avocado, tomato, onion, arugula, garlic aioli and pesto on a whole wheat bun. My wife got the Taco Salad. She enjoyed it, but the jalapenos made it really spicy. Every day of the week is a different alcohol special for the summer. If you want something different or just trying to increase your diet with a healthy meal or two, then definitely put this on your list of places to eat.

Im not vegan, but this is one of my favorite restaurants in Old Town Pasadena. I love the patio seating with the herbs and decor. The warmth of the sun, yet cool shade from the umbrellas. Having a cocktail on this patio, or a weekend brunch is lovely.I love their fried mac n cheese (cashew based, I believe), their salads, french toast, cornmeal pancakes... On the road, hard to get good vegan sometimes. This little gem tucked back in the alley was a great delight! I got the Florentine and it was the perfect breakfast. Well, Im actually on Eastern time so it was second breakfast. Delicious food, excellent service. Parking might be a challenge, I parked in thecommercial loading only 24 hours zone because it was Sunday and everybody else was parking there too. Next time Im in LA I will definitely be back.

Woah!! This place is amazing! I happened to stumble across this gem while walking around Old Town Pasadena. Im not 100% vegan but have been leaning more and more towards a plant based diet. So I figured Ill give this place a shot and boy am I glad I did.I came in for lunch and had the Bowl of Soul and the Coconut Stout. Both were amazingly delicious. The Bowl includes a gluten-free mac n cheese ball in spicy buffalo sauce which is to die for. This was one of the best dishes Ive ever had. Ive always enjoyed Sage for lunch and dinner, and this morning I enjoyed it for breakfast after the Rose Parade. Its off the beaten path, so it wasnt very busy when we arrived at 10:30am. On my first visit, I ordered the Eggplant Farmesan, which was excellent - the pita bread and salad with it was particularly good. Vegan food that tastes amazing.The Food:I tried a burrito and the buffalo cauliflower pizza.The buffalo cauliflower pizza was wonderful. First, I usually dont like buffalo sauce and pizza together. It worked in this case because the cauliflower had all the buffalo taste while the pizza still had its own distinct flavor that was independently tasty. The pizza wasnt necessarily form enough to support the large pieces of cauliflower, which forces you to almost eat it separately which works out better. The flavors complement but you can enjoy them separately. You may wonder if the buffalo sauce works on Cauliflower and it absolutely does. I can tell that they make the cauliflower soft before they put the sauce on which makes it a texture familiar to buffalo sauce on meat. I definitely wouldnt say the cauliflower tastes like chicken, but it doesnt have the flavor of raw cauliflower either. Cauliflower taste would likely detract from the pizza and buffalo sauce.The service:The staff was friendly and cordial. They served water right away and I didnt even notice. After they took our order it seemed like 30 minutes before we got our food. It may have been faster, but the feeling was like it was a long time. I imagine they didnt use any prepared ingredients and they were full when we were there.

Sage had a wide selection of drinks and plant-based entrées if you are looking for an alternative, and the prices are reasonable. They have big servings and the meals are tasty. They also have merchandise available for purchase inside the restaurant in a little corner with all kinds of organic, plant-based, and environmentally friendly products. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a bar.One of the impressive things we experienced was meeting their manager Areta. I have never been to a restaurant where the manager is hustling with the team. One minute shes in the bar helping out, then the next minute shes serving food, then youll also see her seat customers, while taking care of sick calls and the restaurants day to day activities. While chatting with her, she mentioned that her philosophy for her team is to provide them all the tools to be successful and you can see that she has a well-trained team in the way in which they were helping each other out. I thought that was incredible.So if you happen to be in the area, pop in and enjoy their delicious food and drink options.

Ordered the Blueberry Pancakes, Florentine dish and decided we wanted Mac & Cheese as well.The Mac & Cheese came and we both really disliked the flavor. I’ve had way better vegan Mac & Cheese. I did not eat any more after one bite.The blueberry pancakes came and they tasted gluey. I asked the waitress if they were supposed to taste like that, and she said yes, because they are Gluten Free. Nowhere on the menu does it say they are Gluten Free. She offered to switch them out for the Jalapeño Pancakes which we liked, but had to literally wait another 20-30 minutes more.The Florentine dish was decent, and we ate that up since it tasted the best.My Boyfriend ordered a cup of coffee, it came in the smallest cup ever and at no time was it offered to be refilled. It was bitter and had coffee grounds. This TINY cup was $4.00!!I am Vegan and know that not everything tastes just like “regular food” or passes as non-vegan. This was just awful and I won’t be returning.

Food and service was outstanding! I have been enjoying their meals for four years now. I am upset I’ve never left a review, because people deserve to know how good this food and service is! So happy we can dine outdoors now. Sage Pasadena has the most beautiful outdoor dining area. It started to get cold (we went after sunset) and they kicked on the heaters. It was wonderful. It felt so cozy. The cooked food was hot and fresh out the oven. The salads were incredibly fresh and crisp. The drinks even more amazing. However I was disappointed to find out after I ordered the gluten free pretzels that they were out of gluten free dough. I normally get them everytime and they are outstanding. They gave my husband two gluten pretzels instead, but he really ordered them for me and I couldn’t have them because I have gluten intolerance. They are very covid safe. I will say if you dine in the portion sizes are so much bigger! So like I said I am happy outdoor dining is open again. You just don’t get the same amount when it’s to go. (For the goalless Greek salad atleast) altogether. It’s a 10/10. 5 stars. If you go, grab a drink, or try some of their scrumptious gluten free “cheese”cakes. Luke warm service and hit or miss dishes. We went here for my sisters birthday and had a large party. The server only checked on us once...perhaps because gratuity was included? Other than that the staff was very friendly but some of the dishes werent that great. The appetizers were good, buffalo cauliflower wings - delicious. My daughter first told me about this little spot. While I am a meat eater, the description of her California Avocado Pesto burger sounded amazing. Given the opportunity, I had to try it and was NOT disappointed. It is hands down the best veggie burger Ive ever had. A choice of salad or fries comes with the burger. The service was very quick and friendly. The bistro is very clean. The pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the menu has a great variety. If Im in the area again Ill likely try one of the pizzas to see if theyre as good as the burgers!

Oh my goodness this place is perfection. Situated in a courtyard with tons of succulents huge trees and fountains the outside is amazing. The open-air design inside makes you feel like youre eating in a garden. I had the vegan chilaquiles and was blown away Ive never had a breakfast that I enjoyed more. This is the Pasadena location of the Sage chain of vegan restaurants. The location is clean and the staff is nice, but the food was just ok. My husband got the hot wing wrap, which was good but not anything like a hot wing. It had cauliflower but no buffalo seasoning. I got the eggplant parmesan, and the flavor was good but the whole sandwich was squishy and unappetizing. The fries were good but very cold. Also, this location had a lot of things on menu that they didnt actually have. The juice was good though!Overall I like this chain, but I wouldnt choose this location. A meal for two costs $40, and for that price the food needs to be on point.

Dinner for 2 last night, Tuesday 2/15.Had reservations. The hostess seated us right next to several young people (6 people) all of whom were not wearing masks. I asked to be moved to a booth. The California Avocado Pesto Burger has stolen my heart (and my omnivore Moms!) and it is hands down the best veggie burger Ive ever had. The KindKreme on site is yummy too! Between the Culver City, Silver Lake, and Pasadena locations, Pasadena is the worst. The staff is amongst the worst I have dealt with in the world. Ive gone to the sunset location and this is my first time at the Pasadena restaurant. For starters, a con, the people taking reservations can be very abrasive and not clear in the restaurants policy on the reservations. When you inquire they exude the attitude like if youre bothering them. That aside, the restaurant is on the outskirts of Pasadena which is good because its a hassle getting parking in the middle of ole town. The Pasadena location 8s much bigger than the sunset location. Just as clean, the staff are excellent being helpful, courteous, and very attentive. The food, well, what can be said, its excellent. Im vegan which is why I go there. I took my last friend whos not vegan and she enjoyed the food immensely. One thing that did make me go hhmm..., is that this establishment is vegan and they offer honey as a sweetener. I asked for sugar substitute and they happily obliged offering sugar. However, that still doesnt deter me from being a regular at this or any other vegan restaurant. I went to the Pasadena location on a whim being short on time. Glad I did and will be going there again.

Our OpenTable reservation grew from 2 to 3 at the last second; however, the hostess was able to seat us within 5 minutes. Service was a bit slow (had to chase down the server twice) but it allowed time to catch up with members of my party. Cocktail and craft beer tap selection was very nice but not on websites menu when looking for a restaurant. Was a surprise to see a selection of Sage House beers too. Which we did try and enjoy (the pale ale and coconut stout).Menu selection was varied and everyone enjoyed the dish they ordered. So I decided to try this place out since they have a $5 off your first online order. My boyfriend and I went ahead and ordered the banh mi tacos along with the cali avocado pesto burger. We ordered online and got our order pretty fast (on a saturday night). We ate it outside in the patio since there was live music. The environment is very lively and the twinkling lights make everything look so welcoming. BUT....the food was a bit disappointing for the price (paid around $35). The two tacos lacked the Vietnamese bahn mi authentic flavor but the rice and beans that came with it were good. The burger was better than the tacos in my opinion, and the pesto sauce was really savory. The fries were plain. Overall, I dont think I will be ordering these items again (it was my first time here). I will probably try something else.
