Came here because Pops has 45min wait and theres no wait here next door. Kiddos got the Saigon special pho which has generous portion, so does the drunken noodle that hubby ordered. However both dish are on the sweet side and both noodles were overcooked! I got the yellow curry which only comes with carrot and potato so felt kind of sad. The mango sticky rice looks good but we didnt order to make room for boba.

Review is based on what I ordered. I want to note that while I wasn’t happy with the quality of the food I got, the staff was very kind.We ordered 2 banh mi’s: tofu and bbq pork. Completely bland, over stuffed, and fell apart right when I picked it up. Each one was $10.I was also incredibly annoyed that I paid $8 to find out that an order of spam musubi only comes with one piece. It costs 50 cents to make, maybe be more generous if you’re going to make it cost that much??Anyway, if you’re a customer, don’t order these things. You’re better off. 😅

This is One of our weekly go-to places for lunch. Every time we go we find ourselves talking about how good it is. The service is great. The food is fresh and seems to always be made to order. I havent tried anything on the menu that I havent liked. I wish the place was a little bit larger because it can get a little bit cramped when its busy. The portions are also pretty large. I always find myself bringing home leftovers which is always a bonus.

Amazing food - definitely some of the best a Thai food I’ve ever had! We ordered the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Papaya salad, and Fresh Spring Rolls. The food was incredibly high quality, came out steaming hot, and had very generous portions. The Pad Thai had a lot of vegetables (many other places don’t give very many veggies) and the tofu was soft and silky instead is overfried. The spring rolls were fresh and made with tender, plump shrimp. The papaya salad was very finely chopped and the cashews were lightly toasted instead of just straight out of the jar. The drunken noodles had a generous amount of chicken. The service was friendly, no frills, and prompt. I would come back again and again!

Our family of three came to Saigon 2 Siam Bistro for dinner on Thursday evening after a long day of work! We ordered Crying Tiger, Pineapple Curry, Shrimp Pad Thai, Seafood Coconut Soup, Steak Salad. For desert, we had the best Coconut Sticky Rice. We also had coconut boba tea and coconut juices! The food is the best Thai food we’ve ever eaten! Our waitress, Chris was very helpful, caring and very delightful to serve us. We had a very great dinner here at the restaurant! We will be back and surely will recommend this restaurant to our friends and family!

We walked up to the restaurant thinking they were going to be closed and when we started to walk away they called us in with a smile and served delicious food with great service. Updated review 11/29/2021Since we had a great experience on our last visit 3 yrs ago. We decided to eat here before a soccer game.We ordered the Vermicelli bowl with bbq pork and the rice plate with bbq pork. Now Im not Vietnamese BUT the Vermicelli bowl is my favorite Vietnamese dish besides Banh Mi! and Ive ordered it 1000s of times so Im 100% sure that the noodles are not supposed to be served steaming hot! Even after I poured the fish sauce on top, it still was steaming!All they had to do was place the noodles in an ice bath for a few minutes and then serve it the proper way!Even the dipping fish sauce was bland. No signs of red chilli or garlic.Also, the pork for both dishes was not grilled! Imagine having a slab of Char Siu(Chinese BBQ pork)then its placed in a Pho and lastly its placed on a rice plate and or a vermicelli bowl! Thats what it tasted like and looked like it too!Im certain that this restaurant has new owners! Since we last ate here 3 yrs ago! So disappointed!3 yrs ago....Fusion of Thai, Vietnamese, and Filipino food. We ordered the BBQ chicken, Pad Thai, and Pad Woon Sen, which totaled to $36. Which is ave compared to other restaurants portions.Everything was delicious. The table service was quick and the staff was friendly. Would definitely be returning.

So I am very grateful that the owner promptly reached out encouraging us to return and try again. We did receive a seat and we were then BLOWN Away by the food!!! I am back for my now craved item of Panang Curry.. its a party of flavor from heaven!! Seriously everything we tried was fabulous! The Tom Kha soup was the best Ive ever had and the Crab Rangoon...I am speechless!! Unlike any Rangoon I have ever had and absolutely beyond words..just plain awesomeness!! I can only hope a sweet gal named Cynthia is working next time, because I will be sure to ask for her. Unfortunately when we did return for a table the same young man was our server. I can only hope he finds better suited work for himself elsewhere fast! He was absolutely terrible! Forgot our drinks, was so scattered and I am questioning his state of mind being under the influence of something. Grateful the owner jumped in anf grabbed our drinks after I had to go find someone to ask for them. That is the only reason the review was not changed to a 5+ star. The food is a 1000+ stars!! Its worth the trouble to get!Previous Post Retracted..owner quickly responsed and a new experience was given..I may have liked the food, but we were turned away by a young man (edited in response to owner question) at 8:11pm on a Thurs night when maps says its open till 9pm. We were prepared to order quickly as we had already reviewed the menu online. So instead we went to the Japanese restaurant just a few businesses over and had a fabulous meal! Tried chicken fried rice first, the rice was not cooked fully and served so we changed to pineapple fried rice ....It was the same, not cooked fully.We tried 3 other dishes but they were all super sweet like you poured sugar in it.Found this restaurant on YELP as we wanted to have Vietnamese but this restaurant is actually Thai place who is doing Pho and some other Vietnamese dishes.

The drunken noodle was delicious, and the Kuey Teow Sriracha was very flavorful. Perfect amount of spice, and the veggies in the pad Thai were generously portioned and crisp. The staff were attentive and helpful, and the ambience is great on a summer evening! Will definitely come again.

Stopped in Gilroy to try this restaurant on the way home to NorCal. I have 5 stars on friendly service, but 2 stars for foods. Pho taste sweet and it didn’t taste quite much like pho. The spicy dishes we ordered were more on the salty side for both dishes instead of Thai spices. And BBQ pork chop and chicken combo were really dried. We can taste the pork chop as being so dried almost like beef jerky. The chicken was edible but just dried. The food itself was not all that. People might have given good ratings on services, the food itself isn’t all that when it comes to taste. I would try a different place next time.

Had lunch at this location enroute to Gilroy outlets. Ordered tom Yam soup, basil leaf pork and spicy sate noodles. I must say, the chef did a great job. The dishes were full flavoured. I did not expect much but food exceeded my expectations. Service was good. Thai milk tea also tasted like the ones in the night markets in Bangkok.Highly recommended.

This restaurant has a good mix of Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. For Gilroy this is a very exceptional blended restaurant. Really enjoyed the Vietnamese BBQ combo along with a good papaya salad. Stopped by here on our drive back from LA. Place is nice and many locals in the restaurants. Service is very prompt and attentive. Dishes are beautiful and tasty. It’s a great place for dinner. I used to really like this place. It wasn’t the best but it was the best in town. The last few times I’ve gone though, the quality and flavor is not good. The spring rolls fall apart and the peanut sauce is not good quality either and not consistent every time. Service is good and you get a good amount for your money but it’s not the best flavor and quality wise.

Food was very good. The greens are very fresh. The place was a little busy, but we got seated quick. Party of 2. Service was slow, didnt get our ordered drinks until half the meal was gone. I had to remind the waiter, then still waited another 10 min to get.a coke and a smoothie. At least bring the coke out when I asked again right. Luckily the female waitress there brought us water before our food got there. Well, the food made up for it for sure, so i will be back.

The place was busy and the waitress did her best to meet everyones needs. We had 3 hungry kiddos and was seated outside, but later made our way indoors due to the heat. I like that they offered a kid friendly menu. We ordered 3 small kid size pho bowls and 2 regular bowls of Pho. Since this restuarant is a collaboration of two culture: Vietnamese and Thai...however, it seems that Thai food dominates their menu which is why their pho was probably subpar. The worst experience Ive ever had at any restraunt ever!! The girl gave me milk tea with jus milk and no tea. The noodles for my son were dry and gross so had to get rice instead. The spring rolls were supposed to be pork but were shrimp and they tasted horrible. The pho was not very good either and the hot chili oil was too oily. Ate the noodles and threw away the broth. We also couldnt sit outside to eat. The chairs were spinning and my son hit his chin on the table and we had to leave because a bee wouldnt leave us alone.

The strip mall location is not particularly appealing; however, once you get inside, you will be struck by the steady stream of dine-in and take-out customers. Staff us friendly, if a little over-worked. The dining room and bathroom are reasonably clean. The food is simply outstanding. The staff us helpful with recommendations from the large me no. I was absolutely shocked by the quality of the food here. I was not expecting anything, just getting a lunch in Gilroy on my way home and this place sounded tempting. Thai in the middle of Gilroy? I wasnt expecting much. The larb was perfection, the tom kha flavorful and delicious. The kids menu about half the price of San Jose and my kid loved the chicken and noodles. I was just passing through and had a hankering for a boba tea which they had so thats what I ordered. I would say Ive had many of boba tea and this was more on the disappointing side unfortunately. One of my pet peeves is at the I should be Blended long enough to not leave chunks. Although this was not the worst tea Ive ever had it had ice chunks in it so I had to take off a star. I eat lunch here at least once a week. Like clockwork, I order #6a (Pho) and a Thai iced tea with boba, every time. There can be some subtle variations in taste here and there (Im assuming it depends on the cook that day), but I have yet to be displeased. Because of my lack of meal diversity there, I cant really comment on their other dishes. I have had their lumpia a few times, and a few bites of a curry dish or two, and again, I have yet to be displeased. Their wait staff are courteous and thoughtful. I havent had to wait for a refill on their cucumber infused water, nor have I not promptly received anything I have asked for and without issue. They seem to be very accommodating. Everything has been clean, from the chopsticks to the tabletops, every time I have been there. I am not a Thai or Vietnamese connoisseur, so I honestly dont have much of an array of comparisons and cant comment on authenticity, but in my humble opinion, I dont believe Ill have a need to go elsewhere as long as they are in business. I have yet to have a sub par experience, and as I have stated, I eat there at least once a week, and have done so for a couple years now.

My husband and I moved here in November and love thai food. We found Saigon and loved it. Going once a week to get our thai fix. The last 3 times we have come our meals have been screwed up, the staff waiting on us have been very poor. We came in on st Patricks day and had to deal with a young man who was wasted spilling stuff everywhere trying to wait on tables. They were very busy with one waiter he was doing well just trying to keep up. Then the young man came in trying to work it was disturbing enough we watched people leave before their meals. Service could use a little work as when we are ordering we are often missing a few items here and there but the quality of food truly makes up for this. The consistency, which most restaurants in Gilroy misses is impeccably. I dont think I can ever recall having a bad meal at this restaurant, and I have been here way too many times. Worst fresh spring rolls Ive had in my life. They used mixed greens inside, which is totally wrong. They also used a steamed pork with some fake red food coloring around the edges, and passed that off as BBQ Pork. Vietnamese style is supposed to be browned and grilled! My family and I go to Saigon Bistro frequently. There food is always tasty!Their service is great I highly recommend if you havent tried it 😊
