Food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the 007 roll and the Caterpillar Roll and they were both great. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I brought my friend back a few days later and she loved it.
This place is superb. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. I recommend the Dynamite Baked Roll and the Sexy Girl NoRice Roll.Alsop make sure to ask for their spicy mayo. They make it in-house.
When I finished half of Udon, I found the bug and talk to them. But they didnt apologize it and just asked want new one or refund the money.Check your kitchen first before make the foods, and keep clean.No one wants to pay for bug.Bty, their Udon is trash. They used brocolies and cabbages for Shrimp Tempura Udon, and flavor was based on soybean sauce . Original Shrimp Tempura Udon dont use vegetables for it, and use Katsuobushi for flavor of the soup.
Perfectly fresh deliciousness. Good luck with parking but free after 6pm.
One of my favorite sushi places. Its very small with limited seating and can be very busy on the weekends. If you call ahead you can make a reservation. Service is slow sometimes since they dont have very many waiters, but the fish is very high quality and worth the wait.
We came in during opening hour so the service was top notch. Small, cozy place so the seating will be limited.Exceptionally high quality salmon, fresh and fatty.The baked mussels threw us off, due to how it was cooked in a vinegar sauce and having a sour taste, which was completely different from the usual creamy taste. Not a bad thing perse, just different.

Located near the beach, yelp checked in for free hot sake, limited seating but the great food (&flavored cool sake), packed house, attentive staff made it feel fun. They were able to accommodate us at a party of 10 with a bit of a wait. Other party of 7? was also seated which seemed okay with a 2 person split seated up at the bar. Large variety of sushi. Photos of food were not taken because we were starving and after the first bite and trying other peoples rolls all food was almost gone. When Im in the state again, I would definitely try to make it out here again.
It was a little pricey but the food was pretty good. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food came out pretty quick.

I think their sushi is really wonderful, the service was great, and the sake was enjoyable too. Our server was so much fun and made amazing recommendations. The chef really took care of us and guided us absolutely in the correct directions. It was also just a good time. I am happy with the price of it all, and really think that it is a great choice for a sushi restaurant. Its ideally better for more fun sushi rolls, but everything tasted good.I will say that I am disappointed with management for requiring you to buy bottled water as opposed to just serving it to you in a glass. That seems ridiculous to me to be requiring more single-use plastics at a restaurant. Ill still be returning, but I am disappointed with the management.

I was really bummed. 4 of us came in at 9:30pm, and the restaurant closes at 10:30. They didnt seat us because last call was at 10. I understand if we come in super close to closing time they they cannot take customers, but we came a whole hour before closing. That doesnt seem right.

This place was amazing!!! We ordered the Newport Beach Roll, Love Love Roll, Mango & Tuna Roll, and a spicy scallop handroll! All of the food was fantastic and came out to about $50!We sat outside at the temporary seating for covid and it was really nice with the ocean breeze and parking took a few minutes to find up one street.Highly recommend!!!
This is a great spot! It’s small and intimate inside which is exactly how you want it to be. The fish is fresh and the highest quality. The staff is attentive and friendly. The chef behind the bar is a master with over 15 years of experience. You will not be disappointed.
This place was the spot for a date with my wife! There service was great. Food was awesome and the automosphere wish was in my hometown!Server was amazing and cooks even hustled helping.Its a shame there was alot of trashy customers b!tchin at the service. Guys honestly deserve a raise ! We were there and 3 trashy groups walked in within 5 mins acting like they owned the place. Great place deserve more respect and a bouncer to knock some teeth out.Will come back
Very tasty food, great variety, reasonable prices, and friendly chefs. Would give 5 stars, unfortunately the middle aged Waitress lacks in efficiency and simply good service. She seemed unable to prioritize her duties. We had extensive wait for her to take our order and then to bring our check when done. Never checked back to ask if our meal was okay either. She was not that busy, so no reasonable excuse that I could see.
We ordered two specialty rolls and one tempura roll. First time Ive walked out from Sushi STUFFED, but they are generous with the portions, especially the fish. Fresh and well done. Large pieces, kind of a mouthful. Excellent place! Come hungry. Not for the novice sushist.

Since we ordered so much of course the check was a lot, but individual items werent too expensive. There were a lot of specials. I enjoyed the music too. Honestly, Im surprised there werent more people.Obviously, I recommend this place. 👍
This is a tasty and affordable sushi restaurant - very casual and tight inside. I would give them 5/5 stars but their service is never constant. I need more than 1 napkin and Id like for the server to not run away before I can ask for something else. I love their Newport Roll and baked lobster roll!

I have been eating Sushi for many years, from Arizona and California. I cant describe how many places I have been to eat Sushi. I have Sushi at lease once a week. I try every week to drive up to Newport and stop and have Sushi at Sakae Sushi. The fish is always fresh, amazing, delightfulhabit forming, Super great taste. The owners are super nice, enjoy helping every one. The employees are very helpful, always keeping the place nice and clean. They have special types of dishes of sea foodwhich are super great! if 4 or more are going better make reservations.

Popped in randomly and tried this place...so glad we did! Chefs specials menu was creative and delicious, not just the same old California topped with stuff. Fish was fresh. Staff was friendly. They offer all you can eat lunch and dinner. Will return for sure.
Doesnt even earn one star. The food was good. Not to bad on prices. But the service oh my god. First off we stood at the front door for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us or sat us. First red light. Then after that we got our drinks pretty quickly so I thought okay not so bad. Then it took us almost an hour before they took our order. As well as the host/waiter forgot to give us a pen so we could mark which rolls we wanted. He gave us a pen about 50 minutes in. Then it took 10 more minutes before he came back to actually take the order from us. Everyone in the place was totally wasted, really loud and all douche bags. (Which I cant blame the restaurant for that). Also another 30 minutes for our food. (Not bad not bad) We didnt receive refills the entire time we where there and no one asked us how anything was or checked up on us. All because we didnt order drinks. We (the only sober people in the building) received no service why everyone else received excellent service. Sakae Sushi more like Sucky Sushi.
I live in Ontario and when ever I want sushi, the Mrs and I always come here for their outstanding sushi. I make sure Im starving so I can enjoy as many rolls as I can. Definitely recommend this place if you are a sushi lover or if you never had any sushi. This place will make you love sushi. Keep up the good work
Fantastic local sushi. Its a small place and only seats about 25 but it is highly recommended. Last call for food is promptly at 930 so dont be that person the shows up ten minutes before it closes and complains. High degree of originality. I particularly enjoyed the rainbow and spider rolls.
We had them make up platters for a birthday party of 30 and it turned out wonderful. They supplied us with everything we needed. The sushi, the sashimi and the gyoza were all delicious.
This place is nowhere close to a 4.5 Star quality restaurant. First when I ordered an ice water they told me only bottled water was available. I cannot remember the last time a sit down restaurant did not offer complimentary ice water. Terrible music playing. And finally terrible sushi. Everything was absolutely terrible. Do not come here.
So goodi usually hate sushi but it Slapped (with a capital S indeed)service was a 10/10 and our server even recommended a place to get donuts after dinneri loved it

Disappointed in the sushi this time. Rice was overly wet and tuna nigiri was a bit off color with a pale translucent sheen... I suspect it may have been older fish chemically treated to look fresh, but thats only speculation. Dont get me wrong it didnt taste terrible or make me sick but it wasnt great either. Cream cheese in the philly roll was not cold which ruined the texture and caused the wrap to loosen up as the cheese mushed out. The spicy yellowtail roll had way too much sauce which overpowered the fish and also caused the wrap to fall apart. Ive had great meals here in the past but this time the rolls were sloppy and the fish was sub par. The servers and chefs are always friendly but a great sushi restaurant needs to have great sushi.

Terrible service - we had a reservation that was planned weeks in advanced, confirmed the reservation a couple days prior but we showed up and they were clueless of us. Very disappointed considering we were with a large group ready to drink and eat. We ended up waiting wait too long so I would not recommend plain and simple. Find somewhere else in the area.

Good sushi. Id recommend going there if you are around that area and need some grub. Service is very slow to order and getting the check. However, food comes out relatively quickly after ordering. Id get that Rainbow Crunch roll!

I usually feel heavy after eating sushi, but these sushi was very light and fresh. I did not feel heavy at all. I tried the baked salmon roll, tiger roll and salmon tempura roll. I will definitely go back!

A table of 5 people shared alcohol, a wine bottle sized bottle of cold sake, sashimi and rolls for 215 bucks. This was more than we could finish eating. So reasonable! I absolutely would go back if I didnt live so far away.

2020-01-07 02:16:08We decided to stop here before hitting the beach and boy let me tell you this place is underrated !The last time we had sushi this good was in San Francisco and have not been able to find a place that can match them.The customer service here is outstanding and the employees are very nice. It really has a authentic feel to it and the Sushi was incredible.Our chef asked if we wanted a photo and ended up taking a picture with us! Haha it was a really cool and humble experience. 10/10 will definitely be returning!

We were from Fresno and it seems like every time we go to the coast and get sushi we are extremely disappointed. This place is a hidden gem. Sat at the counter and the sushi guys were interactive across the glass so that was nice. The service was good and i thought the prices were decent, they could probably charge more for that level of quality.
