Sakana Sushi & Grill in La Canada Flintridge

A hidden gem 💎 we were looking for Japanese sushi place near Montrose and lucky for us we found Sakana! When I first walked up the entry was so welcoming. The servers were so friendly and helpful when my husband asked questions. Then the food came! (See picture) everything was so good!! We will surely be back for more!!

It’s a cute and comfortable place to have a sushi and grill, the menu us actually good, specially when you going with a big group of friends, they have everything for each taste!

By luck of google i believe I’ve found my new favorite sushi place hands down. We came in here midday for a late lunch and were greeted with friendly chefs and welcoming wait staff. Every order of sushi was perfectly balanced and fresh and even their rolls were tasty and not overflowing with rice. We will definitely be coming back to try more items on their menu and see what else they will surprise us with. Highly recommend !

I LOVE Sakana. I first tried it right after re-opening from the lockdown and they were doing bogo rolls and I absolutely loved their spicy tuna rolls.Today, honestly, it was my first time dining in and I cannot believe I went this long without trying anything else.Heres a list of everything my friends and I ate today:Sashimi 40. $140. Giant sashimi platter. Super fresh and delicious fish. Varies per order.Red Blossom Roll 10/10Radish Roll 8/10These two are non-rice rolls.Spicy Tuna Roll 10/10Crispy Tuna 10/10Baked Salmon Roll 10/10Shrimp Tempura Roll 9/10On the House Roll 10/10. Made special for us by the chefs because we ordered a lot of food and drinks heheSpecial rolls are around $20, and regular rolls are about $10 each.Service and food 10/10!!!

Quality ingredients. Its hard for businesses now with the cost of ingredients, but I greatly appreciate having a quality meal - generous portions, better type of wasabi, and fresh fish at a reasonable price. Will be back!

Service could have been a lot better. But, the food presentation was appetizing, and they had a wide selection of food. However, I thought the food lacked authenticity and tasted too Korean. Their yellowtail collar was on the dry side, too.

Great sushi, better prices. They currently have a 50% off promotion during covid so i try to order from them once a week. Can’t go wrong with any of the specialty rolls. I always try to throw in some extra CA rolls because it’s so cheap I usually eat a lot. Only problem is that the wait on the weekend can be anywhere from 45min - 1.5hrs. Just call in the order before you get too hungry.

Wow! I am used to eating in Japanese restaurants but this was above par. Every item was delicious for both my husband and myself. This is also my first food review because it was THAT good! We will be back.

Amazing service and food. Very large portions. The eel bowl was God tier! The chicken teriyaki was great too.

Amazing food, it is a long wait time, but its worthy it. This one place that it serves To-Go only and i hope everyone who comes here is greatful for having this place open and for the deals they are having.
