Sakura Japanese Steak & Seafood House in La Canada Flintridge

Great food and fun to watch the chef entertain. Steak was most delicious as I asked the chef to cut it into little pieces and each piece then had absorbed all the juices on the hot frying table so was better than usual!!!

The Unagi Donburi was pretty good. It didn’t taste too oily. I just wished there were more rice.We went again and had teppanyaki. And, compared to Kobe Steakhouse, the filet mignon was a little too chewy, and not cooked the way I asked for it. But, the scallop I had was good and so was the yakisoba. Overall, the food wasn’t too bad. But, they sure could have a friendlier host. I didn’t find the older Asian lady in the front too welcoming nor helpful.

We had the pleasure of visiting Sakura for the first time tonight and could not be more impressed. We made reservations ahead of time and had zero wait and were impressed by the friendly service and exciting hibachi show. Highly recommend the filet and scallops and the spicy tuna hand roll. Everything we had was great and will for sure be returning.

Avoid this place! The management and staff lack professionalism. It seems they serve portions based on appearance, which is very discriminatory. When I addressed this with the manager, she responded in a dismissive and argumentative manner. Id recommend Shogun instead – their team is much more courteous and their food tastes superior.

The Teppan is wonderful here. Its fun to watch them cook it right at your table and the chefs do a good job. A few are very skilled with juggling sharp knives and raw eggs! They season the food well here and the quality of food is good for the price point. Get the fried rice. Its worth it! You can also get sushi here too, as well as some good cocktails, beer or sake.

Tony was the best chef/ entertainer EVER. Had an amazing time with my group. Food was delicious and cooks our meats just perfect!

Excellent food and tastes great except the portions they serve are meant for a chicken. There was barely any meat and a giant mountain of vegetables. Chef was annoying and weird and made stupid jokes. If you want to eat and get full youll need to spend about $80.00 per person. Dont recommend unless you hate meat and seafood.

I came here to celebrate my birthday and it was a great experience. The chef was very talented and great with the kids in another party at our table. I let them know that I have celiac (no gluten), and they were very accommodating. They made my meal in the back to ensure no cross contamination, and they gave me extra of the gluten free sauce. The filet steak was amazing and I didn’t get sick. My boyfriend ordered the calamari and said it was great as well. I would definitely recommend for special occasions!

Always a great place for teppan! And the onion volcano NEVER disappoints!We had NY strip steak, filet mignon, chicken, shrimp and scallops, and it was all great!

This place is amazing. Excellent service and the drinks are good. Definitely will come again
