I was today years old when I found out that not all Sam Woos are the same. We learned from the staff that the children of original owner now manages the various location. The same business model of BBQ counter attached to a restaurant, but the menu varies depending on the management.We were craving some items we had in a Sam Woo location in the Valley, but they didnt have it here. So we just tried out a couple of items. Everything tasted good, as expected from a standard Chinese restaurant. The layout is a bit more spacious and slightly more upscale compared to the other locations. One of the older staff that spoke Vietnamese was super helpful and had great energy. His service alone deserve 5 stars.

I came here 1 day before lunar year celebration (chinese new year), the line was very long just to get the bbq for the nite of chinese new year eve. Service was fast.Ive been eating here since 1997, the taste for ducks & bbq still good and remain the same. The portion is big. Recommended for roast duck, bbq cashu and roast pork lover.

Havent been here since the pandemic and the food is still delicious and priced reasonably. Came for lunch and got the #145 Dual BBQ Rice Combo $13.95 and it was fantastic. Also my server was helpful and explained the dishes for me. They have a takeout area by the front entrance. Free parking in lot.

Decent Cantonese style barbeque, loved this place, not disappointed at all. Quick service and friendly workers. The Chashu was perfect and the roasted duck was the best in this area. A good amount of rice was given and the fried tofu was fried as order and both crispy outside and tender inside. It was just perfect.

We tried the take out option today for half roast duck, and the old guys at the counter took another small half duck from the back counter and cut it up all the time yelling at what to order next.The duck they gave was small af and I asked them nicely if I could pick the ones in the display, but he yelled at me in Mandarin . Ive never seen such bad customer service and they didnt even give me the duck sauce and gave me a dry half duck.The taste was alright, but Im used to roast duck with duck sauce and they didnt give me none.My experience as paying customer I wont be coming again, pay my money to get yelled at by old Chinese dudes smh 🥴

This is a consistently good and low-cost Chinese restaurant. the roast duck is superb. WONDERFUL lobster... without noodle is $9.99.. noodles added $3... Skip the noodles... Buy a duck and roast pork to take-home for dinners later on.

San Gabriel is my old stomping grounds. My poor 87 yr. old mom has been cooped up at home since this pandemic. So stopped by and got a lunch special chicken curry, eggplant, thin noodles with soup and tea, 1/2 a roast duck, soy chicken leg and beef chow fun. It all came up to $39 and some change. I also got a free roll of tp. Fast food chinese food. So good. Although they forgot my dipping sauce for the duck. Overall you cant beat the price and good food.

The restaurants closes at 9 pm not 7:30 pm (thats the hot food deli section hour). Great lobster noodles

Decent price. Free herbal tea or lemon tea with dinner. 15% tips charge for group dinner. Not bad. Usually we pay 18%. They charge 15%, sure.
