I had their combo plate. Meal was very satisfying. Very generous portions for the price. You get rice, 3 sides, raitha and a naan bread. I couldn’t believe they had the jackfruit curry which is a special dish from coastal Karnataka. Couldn’t resist the mango lassi. All items tasted good. Wish I had some more space for the Gulab jamun but may be next time. Service was quick and the staff are very hospitable. Other group which was there were having chats and they seemed to enjoy their meal too. Only improvement I would suggest is for them to provide Steel spoons rather than plastic spoons to have the food. Highly recommend!

Went in after reading a lot of positive reviews and was not disappointed. As I was there during non lunch/dinner hours, just ended up ordering what they are most famous for and have their name - samosas and samosa chaat.Samosa chaat was really tasty.Samosa itself was a bit bland but after the samosa chaat, the comparison had to be made, if I just had the samosa, there would not have been any complaints.You get good quantities for the price you pay.

Update: the Papdi Chaat is delicious and prepared carefully!If youre looking for quick, easy Indian food then this is the place to go! I have tried their Samosa House east location before and interestingly preferred the quality of the food here. I ordered a combination plate with white rice, garlic naan, and Malai Paneer, Malai Kofta, and Chana. The Malai Kofta was excellent, Malai Paneer was good and well flavored as expected, but I was a little underwhelmed by the Chana (which was almost a bit bitter). The plate comes with a lot of food, almost enough for 2 meals for me. Parking around here can be tough to find but there are meters along the main street or neighborhood during the day.

The filling of my dosa was very salty. The smoky flavored cauliflower was smoky. The paneer dish was fine. Overall it was ok. It didnt leave me wanting to go back.

Honestly I had no idea they are a vegetarian restaurant. I got Dhal Puri and Samosa Chaat and it was amazing. My buddy got a combo and loved it. Not too expensive, I will be back for sure

My favorite restaurant near the beach.Its great to get some food to go and eat it by the water. They also have lots of seating indoors and outside. Its a lovely family owned and run shop. I could not be more happy to give my money to a place like this.The samosas are big and delicious, and I highly recommend the jackfruit. Its delicious!

Visited because a friend gave it high praise, and it did not disappoint! Food was fresh and delicious (they make their naan right in front of you!)!Had full vegan options for my fiance and vegetarian options for myself. Everything was packed with flavor. Staff is extremely patient and willing to explain each dish and give recommendations. Honestly one of the best Indian foods i have found in this area.10/10 would recommend to anyone!

First thing you need to know is if it spicy 🌶 Not everything is spicy or very spicy. But there is very spicy 🌶 choices. 2nd time here and always fresh. It’s very easy to choose what you want. The kind staff are willing to explain the ingredients. Prices are very affordable and very great quality. Nothing over $11. Parking is street parking. Complementary water. Great place need to try! The service is always very friendly and the food has always been a favorite of mine. But I took off a star because it seems like they changed their veggie chicken recipe. The old version was so much better! 😭 maybe it was the change of shape that threw me off or the texture difference, but I didn’t enjoy it this time. The old version was less chewy, more chicken-like, and tasted better. Bring it back! Still love this place and still would come back

I ordered from here my usual go to which is the vegetarian chicken. As they were making them I saw them dump chicken nuggets into the curry. It was odd but I didn’t say nothing. It was not vegan or vegetarian chicken. I have had the runs since yesterday. My stomach is in so much pain. I’m considering calling the health inspector. Their quality has for sure gone down over the years.

Delicious vegetarian Indian food. The staff is really friendly and helped my friend and me out as we were a bit lost on what to order. Their recommendations were perfect. You can get a combo plate with rice and 3 entrees and then naan on the side. I’m surprised a samosa isn’t part of the combo as that’s the name of the restaurant but definitely get one on the side. I also tried out their Indian beer - Taj. Supposedly the most popular beer over there. A really nice light refreshing larger. It also gets pretty busy and has a nice atmosphere to it in the evenings. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the toilet is quite dirty and not well maintained.

Fast and good indian fair. Im a vegan and they have a variety of options. Been there multiple times and left happy. I give them a low rating because they use single use products. Plastic silverware wrapped in plastic. Disposable everything, even if you eat inside. Not sure if they are trying to save money on a dish washer, but they should consider how much waste they are creating by not using real dishes.

This is my dad’s favorite restaurant, we eat here every time I’m in town. The Indian food is served chipotle-style, with someone filling your plate from a pre-cooked buffet. Overall the food is inexpensive and really delicious. They heat up the naan for you fresh. The soup is bomb. They also have fun dishes like jackfruit and soy chicken. Never disappoints!

Went there to try chhole bhature. A big mistake!Never had such bad chole bhature in entire bay area! Bhature were definitely NOT freshly made.Samosa chaat had stale samosa in it.Cleanliness of seating area: none!! If you are indian or nepali looking for authentic nepali indian food please don’t go to this place. Bhatura don’t look like bhatura tastes dull. Stuffing in pani puri is tomato and choley. Butter chicken dont taste like butter chicken at all. Too many complains just don’t go.

Awful. Just awful. This restaurant is horrible. After eating here I got indigested. The falafels here are horrible. I spit it out. The chicken was hard. The sauce was too sugary. The water they served looked like it was from the sink. The bread looked like it was old and it was very hard. I usually love indian food but this place was just abysmal. The guy who worked there looked like he did not like his job and was grumpy. The place looks dirty and unpleasant.

Ive been to Samosa House in Santa Monica twice and ordered the chana bhatura both times. The first time it was outstanding with very friendly and helpful customer service. On my second visit, the chana bhatura was so oily that I couldnt finish my meal. The people were friendly and it was well spiced. If its too oily again then I will not return.

Delicious vegan meal! I had the combo plate with chapati, brown rice, charred cauliflower, jackfruit, and eggplant with a vegan mango lassi. Everything was great and I was stuffed with half the food still in my plate. Everything looks like plep, but thats a hallmark of delicious Indian food and it was all really tasty! On a Sun at 12:30ish, most ppl were going for American-style brunch, so there werent too many people, and plenty of seating indoors and out. Parking was a bit tricky, but I found a metered spot two blocks away. Staff were friendly and other customers were chill. Great deal for the amount of food - my bill was $15. Would definitely come back when in the area.

Service was lousy, I got there 9:45pm and the door is wide open and on the web it says they close 10pm and the cashier says they are closed and was rude, and I asked why does it says 10pm and he didnt seem to care...in any case maybe they dont like money that much. The young girl who works there has continually been rude to me and provides such poor customer service! It’s happened the last 4 times she’s taken my order. I don’t know why, I think she’s just lazy! Today I asked for chutney for my pakora as I was getting ready to pay, and she says “sorry we’re out of chutney.” I then tell her I no longer want the pakora appetizer if they don’t have the chutney sauce, please cancel the order pakora from the order. She then says “I’ll get it”, I’m now confused because she just said they were out of sauce. I ask you’ll get what? Then she rolls her eyes and rudely says she’ll go get the chutney from the back. Then once she comes back just hands me my bag of food silently, with an attitude. So I just got my food and walked away in silence! She did the same thing a couple of times before but I just bought the food and ignored it. But I have always been very dissatisfied with the energy and service she provides!!! I come into this restaurant twice a week for food. But I’m not coming to this restaurant anymore! It’s not worth her rude attitude and poor customer service!!!!!

I was very disappointed in the service here, the employees were in the back chit chatting and we had to wait a long time for them to come and get our orders . When I ordered my samosa chaat that comes with chutney, yogurt and salad, I only received the samosa chaat with chutney, no salad no yogurt. I asked for the yogurt and it took them an additional 5 minutes to bring, my samosa was already cold so I didn’t eat itI just know never to go there again and continue to go to Samosa house on Washington/Overland where everything is fresh, friendly service and tables are clean., bathroom is clean ! My husbands meal was subpar as well asked for white rice and had to get brown rice because there was no white rice …manager needs to know what’s going on here…

After a few bites we left and ate next door at Cobi a Southeast Asian cuisine with delicious butter chicken and other curries. DO NOT eat here if you’re craving good Indian food! Perfectly cooked paper dosa, wide selection of interesting vegetarian options using soy, cauliflower, and other vegetables in some different and good tasting combinations. Been coming here for years now, and as a mostly vegan / plant-based eater -- this place is a god send. It is also extremely easy to find things for someone who is gluten free. Theyre really clear about which curries/dishes have dairy etc. as well. But wow, I love their garlic naan, their spinach, their potato curry, their cauliflower and their lentils. But Ive never had a bad meal at all. Usually I end up with 3-4 things on my plate plus rice and Im spending a tad over 10 dollars -- cant beat the flavor + price + healthy combo. Quick buffet style eat, only thing that takes a few minutes is the naan which they make fresh!

They also offer the delicious south Indian staple, the dosa.The three of us stuffed ourselves for $24. The staff were very kind too. Once again visited the awesome Samosa House. This time I had the chilli pakora and a vegan mango lassi and it was absolutely delicious. Its good value, filling, healthy enough and lovely calm atmosphere. There are 6 outdoor tables for 2 people and inside the windows are open and its nice and breezy. Go here and eat and feel good.

I love Samosa House! Their food is so delicious and this is coming from an Indian. Their garlic naan is always crispy and warm. Their malai kofta is particularly delicious, and the kofta are always very well cooked. Some of the options are mild and some are a little bit less mild. It is always the perfect spice level for me. The customer service is really fast and friendly. Definitely support the small business. You will get a great meal and great service out of it. Also, the quantity is fantastic. I can usually eat it for dinner and lunch the next day for a extremely reasonable price. It is also really convenient, just a 5-minute walk away from the beach.

My fav are plates with three curry: Jackfruit, Kadhi, vegan Chicken with rice and Naan. I Love this place! The food is heavenly! Extremely friendly! Plenty of Vegan, Gluten Free, and Nut free options. Im super sensitive and allergic to everything (so it seems), but here, I have the most amazing options! At most restaurants I can only order a salad with a very boring dressing. Indian food is so much more exciting, flavorful, and healthy! The spices and ingredients used in Indian cooking are very therapeutic and nutritious so I eat here almost everyday. I wish I could have naan but it has wheat, so instead I order the fried Papadums which can be truly addictive as well. Tip: Ask for the fried Papadums, they have a much better crunchy texture.
