It was ok, nothing amazing. I didnt like the soup, for some reason it was too sweet which I found weird. Love the fried rice and house chow mein.
My first time ever going there. Customer service was good for me. I ordered to go. I didnt have to wait long for my food, but I highly recommend checking your order before you leave, as they did mistakenly give me the wrong sized order initially. No problem though, it happens.I ordered the Chicken Ginger entree with steamed rice. Paid $12. The food tasted great! Plenty of chicken and vegetables. But the overall portion size? Not enough. At least not for me. I was still quite hungry.Its not a bad place, food was good, but I guess I expected more for the price. It didnt leave me very impressed. Cant say itd be a top recommendation to a friend, but probably a place to consider.

This was my first time visiting, but it wont be my last. It took awhile to get seated even though the restaurant wasnt packed. After being seated our waiter, Po, was very attentive and service was quick. The food was great and the wait staff friendly. They were able to accommodate vegetarian needs without missing a beat. Owner is amazing he really cares about his customers. I ordered through hub grub and he kept in contact with me because the first driver had canceled and was doing everything he can on his end to get me my food and honestly this is the 3rd time I’ve ordered from there and every time it’s just an amazing experience and not to mention how amazing the food is too! The Mongolian beef is my favorite so far!
Here is why my three stars. First of, food is excellent, one of the best thai food I ever had. Unfortunately the service is not so great. Wait time could be as long as 30-40min before gets to your table. Seems like the place is always understaffed and because of that you may have to beg for a refill even if its just water. If your lunch time is flexible I would recommend this place 100% but if you have a set lunch time, you may have some explaining to do to your boss for taking a longer lunch.
We came in as a party of 26 and the server was on top of everything. She was friendly and even let us split the check up without complaint. Drinks and food came out in a timely manner and the taste was amazing. We sampled the variety of dishes and raved about the curries. The vegetarian tofu and garlic green beans option was excellent too. Their thai iced tea is my favorite drink there. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend any dish they have to offer.
The food is delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I are vegan and gluten free, and they were easily able to provide plenty of options for us. The yellow curry is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Super busy but the food is great. Make sure you tolerate spice if you order number 8 spice because it is spicy! Lol Edit: I would order your food ahead of time and then go pick it up because they are so busy that it takes a hot minute before you get your food. I dont personally find this rude, but some people do. Not their fault that they have bomb food and everyone wants it.
Food is good but togo orders are rarely ready when they say they will be so I often end up waiting there. I suggest having them call when the food is actually ready if you are close. The last order was packed poorly and now there is sauce all over the containers, napkins (are soaked), and my car. But the sauce is tasty...so I cant be too mad.
The food was good, but the service was pretty slow, even on a slower day. We went there for lunch, and we thought we would have enough time to eat before going back to work. We sat down, and ordered right away, which was about 1:10pm, but our food didnt start coming out until 1:40pm. We didnt have unusual orders, but it was slower than we would like. We will probably try it again, but we will try to order ahead next time to see if it might be faster.
This is the first time I ate at this Thai food place. I had the pineapple curry and the wonton soup. You could tell they had used really fresh ingredients, and the flavors were very good. While I do like my Curry a little bit thicker, this one made up for it in flavor. The vegetables in the curry were fresh and cooked just right. The soup was also very good.
Had the Pad Thai and it was bland. Just for the Pad Thai alone I rate this place a 3 out 5. Also had Tom Yum soup for the first time and it was delicious. The green curry my girlfriend had was good, but nothing especial. The service was great as well.
First time here and I LOVED IT, I ordered the chicken chow mein and my sister ordered the broccoli beef with steamed rice (must try both) everything was delicious, beyond our expectations! I can see why this place has such good reviews, the staff was attentive and very friendly. I’m glad I found such a good Thai food place close to home, I will be returning with my husband because he loves Thai food as much as I do! 10/10 would recommend!

I visited this place twice and had two different experience each time. The first time I visited was it was just an hour before the closing time of the restaurant. Not many customers. I enjoyed the food as well as the service.The second time was at around 1 pm. Peak time. Filled with at least 40-50 customers. We waited at the desk for at least 10 minutes to be taken to the table. Another 10 minutes no one came yet to offer water or ask for drinks. After we placed the order another 30 minutes until the food comes. They didnt even serve us the appetizers. Brought all at once.Although the food was cooked well. But the hospitality was just not good.
The customer service is great. The food is great. The price and quality of the food is outstanding. But you must call ahead it took a long time to get my to-go order which is okay now I know in the future that its like going to a wing place and I need to order ahead ❤
If I could give this place zero stars I would. We used to love this place - but after tonight’s horrible experience, we will never ever go back. We walked into a quiet nearly empty restaurant with no wait time. When we were seated, we were left unattended for 45 minutes, before our server finally came to our table. We asked for waters and had to wait another 30 minutes - our server disappeared again and we waited at least 30 minutes to actually order our food. There were maybe 6-8 other people dining there at this same time, who were also waiting on the server for several minutes. When our food was finally brought to our table, it was lukewarm at best - our server placed our food on the table and quickly turned around and walked away. She didn’t check on us or ask if we needed anything else. We would have appreciated at least one refill on our waters, as we had ordered spicy fried rice and drunken noodle, but instead had to wait another 30 minutes for her to come by. We asked for the check and it included 18% gratuity. We told her we didn’t think it was appropriate to include such a large tip, because we had to wait so long for service and food, and our food was barely warm. She proceeded to argue with us about the 18% tip and then got frustrated and stormed off. She returned with a re printed check and showed us that it did not include gratuity. I always leave a tip, but this time I chose not to.*Also, the bathrooms have a strong foul odor that blows into the dining area every time someone opens/closes the bathroom doors.* we were seated near the kitchen area and observed extremely unsanitary conditions, including dust and grease build up above the “expo counters”, dead roaches on the floors, and rat droppings.*HORRIBLE SERVICE. DIRTY KITCHEN and DINING AREAS.please do yourself a favor and DON’T eat here.
One of my All Time Favorites. Great variety and you can spice it up on a scale of 1-20. I prefer an 8. The Mixed Vegetables with Chicken is The Best. Service is ways excellent with attentive and quick servers. If your lucky youll see Sam hanging out.
Weve been going here for a few years. We love the glass noodle soup and the Cashew Chicken. Its not close to our house, but one of the better Thai restaurants in Inland SoCal, in my opinion. Friendly staff too!
I stopped by here on a weekday and found they had a good selection of lunch specials. We ordered pad thai and yellow curry chicken, both of which were excellent and tasty. There was excellent service and the staff attended to us very well. The restaurant was a bit noisier than Id like and the bench seating that wrapped around the wall was a bit out of place and wasnt visually appealing. Despite these faults, I would definitely come back here again!
Lots of variation on the menu. Three of us ordered three different items and shared. Everything was excellent. Very good prices for decent sized portions. Happy hour appetizers were a real bargain.
We have been going to Bann Thai since they opened. Today was the 1st time for carry-out. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. The glass noodle salad was very dry. The Mongolian beef had no flavor. We will definitely not be back for carry-out.
Used to be a great place. Eggrolls and Pot Stickers were luke warm, red curry was way to sweet.. chicken fried rice was decent, orange chicken was alright in the past I would of given 5 stars Sorry Bann Thai
This review is limited in scope because I only ordered a lunch special and took the food to go. With that qualification, Ill say that this was among the best pad see ew Ive had. It was also still piping hot by the time I got back to my office which can be a problem with takeout.The sides (egg roll and pot sticker) were a welcome addition and the salad was nothing special but the crispy wonton strips made up for it. Plus, what can you expect for $7 bucks and change.All in all a great experience in an area I wouldnt have pegged for great Asian food.
Horrible experience, 2+hour wait from start to finish with an empty dining hall, I see why it is empty now very bad customer service. Unclean/Unsanitary cooking/dining conditions evidence of rodent and roach activity. Inattentive waiting staff had to ask multiple times for food, and completely forgot about the kids meals after multiple requests, finally after 45 minutes of waiting the kid’s food came out. Then the waitress argued over our check after we politely pointed it out that is was unacceptable to force us to pay a tip for VERY subpar service and food. Save your time do not come here. Go to GRAPOW off of Alessandro ave you will thank me.
A friend and I had lunch here. We have eaten here often and will again. The food is very good and there are abundant luncheon selections. The food always is good and the servings are generous. The atmosphere is pleasant. The service was excellent.

Just tried Sams for the first time today they have excellent customer service and delicious food. I tried the pad see ew, fried banana rolls, and mango sticky rice, all delicious. Currently it is take out only so I recommend calling them ahead for pickup and checking their menu on line as its currently limited items.

I regularly phone orders in, sometimes for lunch and sometimes in the evening, the food is excellent in my opinion, the service has also been friendly and excellent to date. The pad kee mao is super good, the portions are sizable and not for a half bad price either. Im not sure what all the negative comments are about but me and my coworkers love the place...
Take out last night for at home Movie Night We were so very disappointed. Ordered the PadThai and GraPow. Serving size of each was tiny. We got the Egg Rolls only because they had no Shrimp Rolls. The lady did not even know what the Shrimp Rolls were and yet they are on the menu. We have eaten here many times before, the servings have never been this small. They were less than half of what they have been in the past. I know through these difficult times we are all suffering. WE should be emphasized.....We should not have been portion reduced in order for the business to catch up on lost benefits. WE will not be dinning in or out here again.No it was the Mission Inn location. Out order was for exactly what I described above. The first check, PadThai. The second check, Grapow and Egg Rolls.
The Best Curry in the I.E. hands down! Make sure you order their yellow curry. Its perfection. The mix of spices, potatoes, chicken, and broth in their curry is to die for. They are always friendly and have great service. My boyfriend and I can go there at least twice a week. Oh and the sweet mango stick rice, is a freaking must!!!!
The Husband and I often go to Sams Bann Thai when we stroll downtown and it has never disappointed.Hadnt been in a while, so we went tonight, $50 gift card in tow, after walking the Festival of Lights in downtown Riverside.I noticed a NEW sign outside and a somewhat different interior, so I asked our server if there is a new owner. Yes, since May I was told.Service was slow. My husband ordered Calamari as an appetizer which was always good. For $8.75 he got five or six greasy, rubbery sticks with some sauce. Then he ordered a fried eggplant dish. Sorry were out of eggplant, our server told him. Okay, what about Pad Thai? Oh, sorry were out of Pad Thai, too. Well so now what?He ended up with some spaghetti noodles and fried tofu. Then we waited for flatware because there was none on our table. *Sigh.*I had pot stickers and Yellow Curry which tasted okay.Then, the crowning moment: We cant take this gift card because we arent affiliated with the other (Bann Thai) location. Even though your name is Sams Bann Thai and your address is in the back of the card?Yeah, I know, thats weird.Wow.I think this was our last visit to Sams Bann Thai. Im hoping the original location wont disappoint. I still have a $50 card burning a hole in my pocket
Visit here as often as I can. The taste and quality is always spot on. The curries are amazing, their seafood hot pot soup, and fried bananas with ice cream. Brandon is an amazing server. Makes Bann Thai a perfect place for me
Tom Kah soup was sooooooooo gooooood! The best I have tasted so far. It wasnt busy for a Friday night. The waiter was really nice and attentive. Asked us several times if we needed anything and how the food was. Left a good tip that they deserved. Will be back!
Not sure if any of these 1 star reviews asked to speak with management, but Im pretty sure if they had, there problem would have been corrected.They buy the freshest ingredients and Sams is the only Thai I will go to. Both locations have excellent service and quality food. I just found out recently, as well, that they are using the profits from these restaurants to open an orphanage in Thailand. Sam is a great guy and both his daughter and son are wonderful too. Take the time to talk to Sam, he is funny. Im glad I was one of the early adopters of the original Brockton location. and was happy to see him expand.
Do not try and do a phone order from these people. The screwed up the order and when I tried to complain through grub hub... they refused to pick up the phone.Rather than trying to make the situation right, he was rude to me and told me (who was complaining about them screwing up the order) that I had a bad attitude.I didnt get dinner, because the order screw up was that they left off my noodle dish. And its not like I could order again with a $25 minimum.
I love this place!! The service is great and the food is amazing. Since Im vegan, I was scared they wouldnt have options for me, but they can make anything vegan/vegetarian!! I recommend this place to all of my friends and family.
Good food. Had the crab fried rice spicy at an 8. Good but not too hot for someone who likes spicy food. The apitizer combo was also good bit do it for 2 people.
Pretty average. The place although pricier because of location surprised me because its pretty run down inside. The food was just ok and their beef taste like it came out of a can.I probably wouldnt come back here ever again. Just being honest.

I love this place..the food is great. Now the waiters well...some may need help improving on there service and how fast they attend the customers but not all are like this. Give it a try! And the owner is awesome!

Our 3rd dinner, the 1st 2 were excellent but tonight the Appetizer Combo was over fried egg rolls, cardboard shrimp sticks, dried out fried tofu logs and wantons that were fried to an indescribable rock hard bunch of folded wanton skins. The Pa Thai rice noodles were not fully cooked, the noodles were still hard and crunchy w/ a red glue like covering w/ chicken chips mixed in. Even when I sent it back the waitress apologized and handed me the check including the GROSS Pa Thai. Must be a new cook on Sunday nights??? Masaman Curry was the only acceptable dish served tonight.

Cant do NO Stars on Yelp!Parked my car here to go inside to eat. Walked across to show my little son the trains. Then went back to the restaurant to have dinner, and they called the tow company to tow away my car. When we asked several employees what happened, and who was responsible for my car being towed away, they all acted like it wasnt them. They were all very elusive. Found out from tow company that the restaurant had called. I had to pay $435 to get my car from the tow yard. Illegally towed!!!The restaurant completely lied to us and had our car illegally towed.
Its pretty decent. Have some vegan options. My sisters kid spilled her beer and they replaced it for free and without being asked so ima hook em up with a 5 star. Pad see ewe is what i always get. Servers are pretty friendly so thats always a big plus.
Just left this restaurant. We found a roach in the Pad see eew noodles. We alerted the staff, they werent even apologetic about it. Gladly we only had taken 2 bites out of the food. It was totally gross. I hope the department of health investigates this. This is disgusting.
Orange chicken was the best we ever had. Had to share with my son and daughter and they too said it was the best orange chicken. Crispy, crunchy and oh so yummy!
First of all how do you mess up a walk in order. Secondly, you have me waiting an additional 20 minutes while of course forgetting that we placed the order only to give us the order and is still messed up. Then you forget my drink on too of all this only to say i give you a discount next time. Nah Im good! You keep that $30 cause my comment is worth way more.
I have ordered from this place via grubhub a few times now. I always get my order delivered before the approximate delivery time which is great for me because I always order when Im hungry. They are a bit expensive but completly worth it. But food is always hot and delicious.
We found ourselves staying at a Holiday Inn Express, in Colton CA. Lets just say our stay was due to a merciless heat wave, that forced us out of our home due to a faulty AC, into the added expense of a hotel which helped to keep cold as penguins, while outdoors the oppressing heat took over the land. Hotel stay spells dining out every night. Tonight it was Sams Bann Thai, which delivered to the hotel. After reading several reviews, most praises, some less so, we ordered:Wonton soup, $7.95. Broth was vigorously flavored with excessive cabbage, carrots in less amount, and 2 mid size shrimp tail on. Amount was a supposedly 16 ounces. Arrived hot, but felt a little short on protein. 3.5 Stars.Shrimp Egg Rolls, $8.95. The thinnest egg roll I ever seen, darker than recommended, dry and accompanied by their version of sweet and sour sauce. This one with the consistency of water. No cornstarch? 2.5 Stars.Chicken Fried Rice, $11.95. Plenty of rice, a couple chunk of tomatoes, thick sliced onions, zero veggies, a blunder that was left practically intact. Money to the trash. 1.5 Stars.Yellow Curry Chicken, $12.45. Disgustingly sweet, watery curry sauce, the whole thing a regret. What is up with the Asian mentality that just about anything, and everything, has to be smeared with sweet ingredients. Bet half a dollar, they do not eat what they sell to the general public. Next time I will get a milkshake for a third of the price. 1.5 StarChicken Satay, 8.95. Overpriced, dried, flavorless, accompanied by extremely sweet cucumber salsa, in a tiny container. Peanut sauce thick as putty, so sweet it got disposed swiftly. 1.5 Stars.Egg Rolls, $7.95. Decent for a change of pace. Sweet and sour sauce watery, no praise for the execution. 3 Stars.Fried Bananas with chocolate dip, $6.95. Egg Rolls with banana purée. Chocolate dip barely gets a passing grade. 3 Stars.The mediocre feast commanded a whooping $77 plus tag price. The person who took the order was very nice, paper plates and plastic utensils, and napkins too. Sad to say that if this place is a 5 Star, or even a 4 Star, then really good Thai food can not be measured by the same ruler. 2.5 Stars.
As a foodie who loves Thai food I rate this as top shelf. On a rare occasion there is a minor hiccup in service but service is usually top notch. Food is obviously made from fresh, quality ingredients. Both this location and their hidden gem on Brockton are true Thai at readonable prices.
Rice was hard and not cooked all the way. I asked for medium spice and they gave me hot. Service was slow for my table, but I noticed that people who came in after me got faster and better service.

Wasnt to crazy about this place, first time there and I came out pretty unhappy, the food tasted good but didnt really serviced enough meat, more veggies and juice and service wasnt the greatest either and it was pricy for just veggies and juice. Out in L.A they serve better portion for the same amount

If i could give negative stars I would. I went to Sams Bann Thai for the first time, at about 845 and was kicked out before I made it ten steps in. Naturally my date and I went across the street to The Old Spaghetti Factory. We were there for about an hour. We walked back to Sams Bann Thai parking lot and her car was towed, thanks to Sams Bann Thai management. Apparently Sams Bann Thai is selfish about parking, and has no regard or respect for current or future customers. If this is how you want to treat people I hope you fail. Customer service doesnt end when people walk out the door. I hope Sams Bann Thai is getting some good love from Brothers Towing.... I wouldnt be surprised that tow trucks were waiting around the corner for the clock to strike 9:01. $350 that could of gone to Sam Bann Thai from two potential loyal customers went to a tow company instead.
My wife wanted to go since she was craving Thai food. It was just like any other Asian food and kinda pricey. Great service though.
O actually didnt eat here. Multiple times I have come to sleep not good but the smell of dirty kitchen drains or mold. Not saying they have it, just saying twice it turned out stomachs enough to walk out without ordering.

Delicious costs about $20 a person if you figure in the food drink and dessert for dinner. But its definitely worth it.

Havent had a disappointing experience yet. For awhile spicy wasnt spicy, but the spicy is back! The wait can be a little long at times.

2018-04-26 22:31:52I had Pad Thai for the first time on my first visit here. It was so flavorful and filling. The restaurant had plenty of seating and had a fresh look. The Tom Yum soup was also really good. I couldnt stop serving myself extra bowls!

2018-06-18 21:22:15All their food is on point! Their portions are good. Their spice rating is accurate.I personally recommend you get a thick noodles dish (maybe Pad Kee Mao) and a curry dish (Chicken or Tofu Red Curry) if there are two or more of you.

2020-12-16 08:06:33What a disappointment! This place used to be wonderful and now it was so bad I had to throw out the food because it was inedible. On top of the Pad Thai tasting like a bowl of peas...literally there was no other taste than peas...yet there are no peas in the dish 🤔 I found hair in the yellow chicken curry. The fried wontons were decent, but I will never be back. I should have listened to my mom when she told me months ago that it was so bad she called and asked what was wrong with them. Apparently they have new owners and new recipes, which are much to be desired.

2019-06-01 20:02:49Poor salesmanship but great food. We were glad to show up here a little earlier than their noon opening time. We were a party of 7 and they seated us real quickly. It seems that speed is the name of their game here. The waitress brought us water and just left them in a clump at one end of the table for us to hand out. I asked if I could try their Tom Kha broth to maybe order 3 pots ($16 each). The same waitress let me know they cant let me sample since it is only made to order. That tells me they are using the packets, thus neither homemade or authentic. Cucumber salad was cut in large steaks rather than a standard thin cut to absorb the vinegar dressing.When our waitress started delivering food, things got weird. The spoons for the soup were completely submerged so we had to clean it off in the bathroom before eating our meal. We had to ask a different waiter for water twice. Finally, they include a MANDATORY tip (see photo). I normally leave a 22% tip (I dont subtract the tax) so this was the tip of the yellow iceberg.Great food but servers who are high functioning Aspergers.

Ive tried many of the dishes but the yellow curry is my absolute favorite. Full of flavor and the portion is a good size. Im so glad to see that theyre back open!
