2023-03-18 05:25:23Very good service and comfortable environment. Enjoyed our seating around the fireplace. The food was ok. I felt it wasnt the freshest seafood, but acceptable. Had better luck with cooked dishes. Could have been an off night, so will give it another try some other time.

2023-11-08 18:42:50It is amazing that there are so many menu options available. The BBQ yellowtail collar is delicious. The sushi rolls not only taste good, but also have beautiful colors. Although they are somewhat short handed, the waiting time and service are reasonably good. We will definitely come back again next time we visit South Lake Tahoe!

2023-10-11 04:22:23I wanted to love this place and the food was honestly good, and I’m picky about sushi. The service was just a lil crazy. The waitress was so sweet at first but when we had to split our bill it became a hugeeee deal. We tried to apologize and make it as easy as possible— it’s usually not a big deal to split a check two ways— but she struggled and made a bit of a show telling the rest of the staff about the situation and laughing about it loudly while we just kinda sat awkwardly. Lol it was weird and uncomfortable but I definitely recommend the food! Just maybe don’t try to split a bill there.

2021-04-30 00:59:52Amazing! 100% satisfied, it was our first time here, we ordered various rolls, they were all delicious. Usually when we try a few different rolls, one or two don’t meet our expectations but all the ones we tried were delicious! The salmon, tuna and shrimp were so soft and fresh. The 49ers roll is delicious. We are fans of raw salmon, the Tahoe roll is also yummy. The waiters were friendly and attentive to the current safety regulations. May was our waiter, very sweet.Reasonably priced.

2019-08-09 03:44:51Great sushi, very fresh and unique rolls. We ordered the Grease Lighting, Bronco roll and Tahoe roll. The Tahoe roll is made with soy paper, Im not a big fan of soy paper but this roll was so good we ordered a second one. They also have oysters, clams and BBQ plates. The place is small but very welcoming inside. I love the fire pit table in the middle of the room, is fantastic. They also have a private room, Tatami Room, that you need to reserve in advance. I believe it sits up to 20ppl. Theres also a sushi bar and a drink bar.Service was ok, very, very slow. It took us a while before we received our order. I dont think servers are assigned tables, they just serve and clean as they pass by our plates are ready. If you find this review helpful, give it a like 👍

2022-12-22 18:51:51Great sushi! Bustling little restaurant so they must be popular! They were packed but got us in by the fire which was very nice. Wait was understandingly a little long but not awful. I got the Powder House Roll which was soooo yummy!! Sashimi appetizer and chicken teriyaki dish were also tasty. Would def go back.

2021-08-20 15:23:12Somewhat affordable sushi for the area and other menu items are decent. friendly servers. casual place no fuss. not so touristy.BUT..had to knock 1 star off bc on their website menu which we’re instructed to look at from a QR code, stated that the prices for scallops and amaebi nigiri were lower than what they actually billed us. we didn’t realize this until we left and looked at the menu again bc we remembered it being a bit cheaper so we thought that was a great deal and ordered a lot of it.FYI it’s extremely bad practice to show different/lower prices on the menu and misled people to order and NOT informing us whether some nigiri prices are outdated etc (if it is indeed outdated) orrrr just over-billing us and the menu prices were correct. this left a sour taste in our mouth after having a good meal. we tipped servers well, too… how unfortunate. we’re from out of towns so won’t be going back here.WARNING: pay attention to your bill and compare it with the online menu, patrons.

2023-08-02 03:31:20I have never left a dinner so angry food was good but watched every person around us get their food while we waited a literal hour. Our server took our drink glasses away without asking us if we wanted another. I left my birthday dinner angry instead of happy I will not ever be back. Honestly Im so angry. When I tried to leave and we were told we couldnt, and if we wanted faster service we should have sat at the bar. We werent offered seats at the bar. Still while sitting we watched every other table get served before us. After an hour and 10 minutes our food came. It was good, however our server had a major attitude, and my birthday dinner was ruined. Again will not be back, this place has gone so far downhill.

2023-10-18 17:30:23One of the worst restaurant experiences ever..Do yourself a favor don’t eat at Samurai Restaurant South Lake Tahoe for any reason. To start the table was a germ fest of sticky gooey stuff everywhere and the waitress was an industrial strength nightmare and that’s being generous. Despite our better judgment and downright common sense, we decided to order. It took over 40 minutes before our not so friendly waitress took our order and another 30 minutes before the food to arrived. The order matched the service cold amazingly bad and completely unbearable. I am sure 7-Eleven Safeway and San Quentin have much better service and food. If you’re looking for Sushi Restaurant and an enjoyable eating experience this is not the place. Samurai Sushi Restaurant is an insult to restaurant everywhere save your money save your dignity…

2020-01-24 18:21:37Great atmosphere and a welcomed escape from the cold. We got a table right away, but we waited a very long time to be served. Once our order was placed the food came in a timely manner, and it was quite tasty! The rolls each offered different flavor pallets and the oyster shooters packed quite a flavorful punch! Overall less than impressed with the attentiveness of the service, but still pretty satisfied with the quality of food.
