The stairs are steep but a great workout. The trail is a great place for a walk, but no dogs are allowed on the beach. So we enjoyed the ocean from the trail.

Super easy trail right on the sand! Accessible to all who goes! Only thing is paying for parking on the curb.There is also a small cafe/lunch shop right on the sand with plenty of outdoor dining.

Walk the shoreline, enjoy the sounds, the gentle crashing of the waves, the beautiful rocks, like treasures. Clean up after your leashed dogs. Feel safe. *one thing however, there are several homeless people camping out...not aggressive.

Every time I walk on this beach trail I stop at the lovely bench near Lost Winds and look out at Seal Rock directly in front of me and I give thanks to the people who who worked to create this trail. The views are absolutely gorgeous. People are walking, running enjoying the trail.

Me and my family had a great time here, parking took awhile but it was worth it. 2 hours was roughly $2.50 I believe. Had a restaurant right on the trail which was super cool we got an açaí bowl, it was good. Lots of surfers which was fun seeing them shred. Definitely recommend stopping by!

One of the great walks of the world. Great ocean views, easy, not crowded, and access to restaurants and shops. Today I saw dolphins 30 yards offshore.

This place is absolutely beautiful!! There are fire pits also, which is really nice! The trail is well kept and we had a wonderful afternoon here.

Just a great place to walk and chill. It doesnt hurt to pick up any trash you may see. We try our best to keep our beach clean. Its a nice trail to walk your dog, just keep them off the beach.

Easy trail. Very nice view of the ocean as well as the wild flowers along the walk way. Stairs can be climbed if you want to do a quick cardio run too. If you do not want to pay for parking, you can park for free at Pico Park and then walk all the way to the Amtrak Station to access the San Clemente Beach Trail.

Great trail for bike walk or jog. Incredible ocean views with wide and well maintained trails. A mix of gravel, wood and pavement this beachside trail is ideal for families or couples. We rented bikes right off the trail head for reasonable prices and found parking very accessible.

It’s always a nice place to go and hang out at night with friends although they close the pier it never is. Recomendable and the place it’s self is always clean and the security is always around so it’s safe

This place is gorgeous. Trail is about 2.5 miles each way along the georgeous San Clemente beach. Some of the most amazing sunsets you will ever see if you take this walk around sunset!

I beleve that walking the beach trail is a must to truly experence and see all that SC beacjes have to offer. I use the trail whrnever I am down or need time to think. Be careful after rain as some places do not drain well. If you are a dog lover you can see a bevee of different dog breeds and their people.

Smells like dog urine and there are a lot of homeless people around the north beach area of the trail. Also dog poo on wood bridge is gross when left by bad dog owners and my toddlers almost step in it.

A nice trail to walk, look out over the ocean and get some fresh air. Its a great place to walk your dog, with well defined trails and nice flowering succulents along the sides of the path. The trail offers a few areas where you can cross the train tracks and enjoy the beach. Be careful and aware while walking because at times bicycles can move up on you rapidly attempting to pass.I like to park at the North Beach parking lot, although it can feel a bit sketchy at times. From there, you can head south, enjoy a nice walk to the pier, restaurant and shopping area. The eateries offer some outside dining, where you can enjoy a meal near the fresh ocean air.Its definitely a nice relaxing way to spend an afternoon. You can get a little exercise, take some photos and enjoy a view of the coastline.

This is one of the coolest hikes you can do it’s level the hallway watch out for the bikes though. The Surf Liner trains comes by often. Heads up.

San Clemente beach trail is a wonderful place to get out for some exercise with a view along the way. Lots of folks out walking their dogs and riding bicycles. From the Pier the trail goes on about a mile north and a mile south with the entire trail being along the water. You will also see the train pass many times which seems to be a joy for the kids. I also learned they have a grunion run that takes place there March through September which may be something entertaining to see.

Wonderful beach trail. It was not too crowded when we visited so I was a pleasant stroll with the dogs.Stopped by the San Clemente pier for some food after watching the sunset.Recommended!Some dogs did not have leases, so be aware of that, but for the most part we had no issues. The area has a good laid back vibe as well, much like the local downtown area which is also recommended. Enjoy!

I grew up here and it was so nice to actually get back in the water that was such a important part of my childhood. Body surfing t Street was a blast! I forgot how cool it was to ride even the small waves in San Clemente. Super fun. Everybody was friendly. Cant recommend highly enough. The only downfall is the meters here only take quarters and its only like 10 minutes for every 25 cents. Bring a lot of quarters.

If youre in San Clemente, you have to take advantage of the Beach Trail. For us it was a place to take our morning walks with coffee. Its a great place to walk or ride a bike; lots of people exercising but plenty of room - it didnt feel crowded. Beautiful views of the beach, piers, rocks - loved it!

In my opinion, this is one of the best beach trails in Southern California. While you walk, jog, bike, skate, scooter etc... down this trail you will be treated to beautiful ocean views. Although you can not take your dog onto the adjoining beach, you may walk your dog along this trail.

Fine to walk. An elevated beach trail that is well used, Watch out for bikes especially the electric ones. Bikes are supposed to be walked. They are not. Also, an occasional high speeder of all ages and mental states zoom through. This is a hazard. Often with no warning. A rare use of a bell makes walkers aware of their passing.

Walk, run, bike, etc. along the nicely paved coast trail. It is free to enjoy 24 hours a day, and has multiple access points throughout San Clemente, most of which also have access to the beach and parking is always nearby.

I used to ride my ebike along with my wife as she does her run. I have bad hips and cannot run with her. Now, due to this new absurd law, I have to wait at the peir for her.My wife has never had an issue with an ebike on the trail as she runs. She has had dogs get in her way and been nearly knocked down because some dog owners do not keep their pets on a tight leash. My wife is a physician and states its the dog owners who are more of a danger to people on the trail than ebikes.

Its a nice place to walk, but its getting polluted by disrespectful E-Bike riders. Too many young kids not knowing what the right of way means. E-Bikes shouldnt be allowed on the path. Walking Only.

This trail used to be the best thing about San Clemente but now that the bridge is closed there’s nothing that really sets it apart. Those of us who live in North Beach can no longer take advantage of the trail. The city is spending money setting up barricades instead of fixing the problem. I can’t believe that they are not fixing it and have no plans to. Shame on you city of San Clemente!!!
