Great service and great food here. Love the surf and turf, gumbo, etc. Outdoor seating is great, when its not scorching hot but you can also cool down inside too.
Recently dined here and loved the fresh seafood and service. The sea bass with tarragon butter was amazing. For dessert, highly recommend the key lime pie! The waiters were very attentive and friendly, bringing a great vibe to this restaurant experience. Thank you San Marino Seafood, we will be back soon!
I really like the food. For a hole in the wall place, it had big impact. The servings are generous, reasonably priced, tasty and the servers are attentive and friendly.
This place has the most delicious clam chowder Ive ever had in my life. They created a special calamari salad for me. It also was delicious....grilled calamari steak on a bed of spinach greens along with a vinaigrette dressing.
Nice little casual seafood place... I had the fish tacos, with Cajun style salmon, my wife had a halibut sandwich, both were excellent, as was the fresh light coleslaw we had on the side. No alcohol but you can get a beer from the Chinese place that shares the same patio....
Yum! The fresh crab sandwich is now on my “most favorite sandwich” list! I can’t show you a photo because I ate the whole thing! I did however find a photo online. The service was great too! I’ll be sure to return.
Solid seafood restaurant and the best game around my area of San Gabriel and San Marino. Not cheap, bit I think they do invest in quality. I had the seabass sandwich special which was great, but my wife has the trout special which felt a bit bland. Clam chowder is generally really good but Ive had more than one occasion when there was too much grit in the clams perhaps not having the clams sit in water long enough to spit it all out.A few months ago I was disappointed in the service having asked for condiments, water, or silverware multiple times before finally getting it. That experience alone turned me off from coming back until I tried again recently because of my wife wanting to visit. Happy to say that this time, the lady server I had provided fantastic service with a smile.Still a recommended place to go. Hope the poor service was really a one of situation.
We started the meal with two medium shrimp cocktails. They were very tasty. The main course was cioppino. I am used to more of a tomato based sauce. The sauce was bland and needed some fish in it to give it a seafood flavor. I will be back to try other dishes, but will skip the cioppino next time. The service was very good and the staff was friendly.
Very casual place. My Sea bass was very good, as was the presentation. My friend had scallops that were a little odd. They were flat and skimpy, though she did like the taste. I will definitely try this place again.

Has the wild salmon with sweet chili sandwich. Perfectly done sandwich composition. The fries were seasoned thank goodness!! And the clam chowder was thick!! I loved it!Also, sidenote: the pickle that came with the sandwich was something else. It was spiced and super tasty!! Everyone was incredibly nice and service was fantastic.Ill be back!!
Great selection of seafood. Prices are good for what you get. White clam chowder excellent. Sides excellent. 7Thick and creamy. Blue nose sea bass from New Zealand superb. The place is not fancy, but cozy. The help is very friendly and helpful to make sure you have a great dinner. No alcoholic beverages. Booo.
Wonderful selections of seafood, and the waiters are incredibly polite and professional. The clam chowder was sensational, and the iced tea was addictive. But the best part was the ahi tuna steak, which was grilled to perfection. In short, I really enjoyed the quality of everything there.

They have indoor and outdoor seating. The fish is always very good quality. They work very efficiently and have had the same people on the team for at least 2 years. I work very close by and have always been satisfied with this restaurant.
I absolutely love this place. I have yet to eat ANYTHING bad here. The halibut is by far my favorite fish here. The fish tacos are abosutely delicious the smokey flavor of grill and even the fried halibut is beyond tasty. The staff here is amazing. These two ladies that work to serve are SOOOOO wonderful. I cant say enough good things about the entire staff. Every time i come i eat the same thing. Lol. I tell myself im going to order something else and i dont. The crab cakes... jeezus. The crab cakes. Love em.
This is an easily overlooked gem of a place, tucked in a series of stores near Sierra Madre Ave. and Huntington.The food is fresh, the soups, sauces and dressings homemade, the sourdough bread San Francisco-good, and the dishes tasty. Good service, relatively quiet and reasonable prices. Whats not to love?Youll never be disappointed here.

Excellent food. Super reasonable prices. Fish is always very fresh. The server is always very welcoming and attentive to customers needs. I really like these types of establishments versus the big chain type of eateries. Go here. You wont be disappointed.
TERRIBLE experience. We arrived at the restaurant, party of 5, with only one table of 4 occupied, otherwise totally empty. Received menus and requested water for each of us. Water brought to us promptly. And within 5 minutes we were ready to order. But our slow to arrive waitress seemed to take forever to get to our table. Meanwhile, the room and outside patio is filling rapidly with new arrivals. I noticed another waitress working the other side of room and the patio was very efficient and promptly taking orders. At that point I realized these people were going to get their food before us because of the order slip being turned into the chef. Finally our waitress wandered over and took our order. Within minutes of taking the order the place was totally full and people filling the outside patio also. Then I started observing that people that had come in a way after us were receiving their food, once again from the fast and efficient waitress. Wasnt long before everybody in the room had their food and we were still sitting there with a blank table, had not even received our salads or clam chowder order. I finally asked what is going on and she replied it is coming, it is coming (after waiting 45 minutes). Finally our main course plates arrived, and I asked where is our salad and clam chowder that should have been brought before. I asked for some consideration to make up for the inconvenience but got a blank look. At this point I had had it and said we are leaving as the plates of food were placed on our table. They now had 5 plates of expensive food on their hands - to the tune of approximately $150.00. We wound up going for Chinese food in Pasadena which was great tasting (for half the price and no screw-ups)!!

Ordered the Halibut tacos!!!! Tasted like they were microwaved…horrible! Soaked with white sauce cabbage….I’m thinking to hide that crappie halibut! About our fourth time there….seems to be going downhill!!! Needless to say we won’t be back! 🤮
Right around the corner from me, fortunately! Absolutely the best fresh seafood to eat in or take out. Can BYOB. Superb fresh halibut and swordfish. Fantastic chowder. Delectable crab sandwich. Best shrimp cocktail anywhere. Get half a pound of medium cooked shrimp to go for $12 with cocktail sauce and make a meal. Same size as large or jumbo shrimp at Bristol Farms for about half the price!
Had the BEST seafood tacos (you get two and have a choice of snapper, calamari, or shrimp).Our waiter (he rocked) gave us a sample of their tuna salad that was to-die-for (TDF). Simply the finest and freshest salad on the planet. Tiny celery and onion pieces added to fresh tuna, not watery, no oil or stinky mayo added. Melt in your mouth. Cannot wait to try the tuna melt next time I/were in town. (We went to The Huntington which is right down the block). The fish tacos were divine = more freshness, cabbage, etc.Nice, quiet ambiance right on Huntington Drive. Small but fierce. Starfishes in the window. Henry and Arabella would have approved.Meow.
Got the crab sandwich for lunch to go. Tasted fairly good.Two stars off for the unfriendly woman working there. When I came in, no hello or welcome. Just kind of standoffish. When she handed me my sandwich, I said thank you very much and she just walked away. She has a bun in her hair and I think Ive seen her frequently before.. possibly one of the owners? I get that youre business is successful and popular but its no excuse to be complacent about customer service.
Salmon was very good and moist, not overcooked. Had the salmon salad, but the salad had minimal veggies: one small wedge of tomato, and 5 or 6 slivers of purple onion. I asked for more tomatoes and server promptly brought a plate of 4 good-sized slices of tomato. The genetous portion of spinach was very fresh. -- The key lime pie was disappointing. It was more sweet than tart, had a firm yellowish custard filling (not the usual light green). The tastey graham cracker crust was perhaps soaked in lemon or lime juice. I think this was a piece of custard pie that didnt sell and was repackaged* as a key lime pie. If you like a key lime pie that makes your mouth water and the tart lime flavor pops in you mouth, this is not the pie for you; though, it was a good piece of pie, just not what I had ordered. -- Nice patio area outside and clean area inside.
Quaint, casual and quality was definitely tastable. I think they spread the service a little too thin. She was great, but clearly owners need to give servers time to serve not just move plates around. Its not supposed to be fast-food.
I love coming here for fresh seafood without having to drive to the beach and fight for parking. Their white clam chowder is so yummy. Check their board for their daily specials they are often very good dishes.
After reading the reviews had to try the fish market, worst experience Ive had in a long time. The waiter took your order then never seen him again. Ordered the crab saladAll lettuce one slice of tomato the crab looked like it came from a can. About half a cup. Dressing was supposed to be thousand island horrible, all that for 24.00 dollars. Learned my lesson
Excellent service! The food is phenomenal and the prices are awesome considering you get three sides and a big chunk of fish. If anything, the fries are salted just a tad too much but im sensitive to salt. Overall a hidden seafood jem
Excellent! A wonderful fresh meal. A wonderful assortment of seafood to choose from. Staff was amazing. Would recommend to anyone who wants quality seafood and does not want to travel to a beach town. Everything down to the soup is made from scratch.

Ive been looking for a place that offers wild caught salmon. It seems very hard to come by in Los Angeles. I was surprised that Whole foods and Eataly dont have wild caught salmon. This cute restaurant and seafood market has them! The wild caught salmon sandwich with coleslaw on the side was great. Will definitely be coming back again! ☺️

Ive been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. Clean, fresh seafood, beautifully prepared. Greens and other produce is always immaculate. They are also a market, with the highest quality seafood.
I ordered one of the seafood Sandwiches with real crab and it was amazing!! Very filling. I also got a cup of their clam chowder and it was also very tasty.
Calamari tacos were delicious. And the New England clam chowder was creamy and very generous with clams and potatoes. And the broth was right on the money!

This is our first time.We were not disappointed with their food. These folks were very friendly and got our orders efficiently. Since everyone talks about their clam chowder in Yelp, we decided to try the clam chowder before our meal. This was so good. Now I know why everyone recommended clam chowder.For our lunch, instead of ordering from the daily special seafood dishes on the board, we decided to order our food from the regular menu. We ordered two things, one was the steam mussels and the other dish was two shrimp tacos.Both dishes were amazingly good. I liked the shrimp taco the best as the taste was so good. The shrimps in the taco was huge and fresh. The portion was big too. I can hardly finish my two tacos.Parking is street parking on Huntington.

2021-08-19 01:42:54Fresh delicious seafood, in the heart of San Marino. We stopped by for a late sit-down lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We tried half dozen East &Westcoast oysters (Westcoast oysters were much saltier). My husbands Halibut tacos and my shrimp tacos were also very good. Recently went there again, another really good meal; this time we tried their special crabcake and sashimi grade ahi tuna...so good!

The shrimp was very large, but I would have liked more shrimp than I got considering the price (I think there were 4 pieces). The flavor of the shrimp was delicious, and the crab was very fresh, and plentiful. Had I not added the crab, and still only received 4 shrimp, I would have been very disappointed. The sesame vinegarrete dressing was very good, although I did get extra (I like a good amount of dressing on my salad, but not drenched.) Overall, I really enjoyed my meal, but would like more seafood for the price.
