Had a delicious and satisfying experience here, the Cafe feels so nice here with a simple atmosphere. The food here is delightful too, you’ll spend at least 12-16 dollars if you want a simple meal alone with leftovers if you get full fast. Highly recommend checkin’ out if you like Asian Food

The food is always good. Everything I have tried on the menu I have enjoyed. The service is great. Our waitress is always so sweet and humble. Also, the boba in the Thai tea is soft and delictable. There is nothing worst than ordering a drink with boba and its chewy and hard. I would completely share this experience with friends. Thank you!

Horrible Service. We got seated took our orders but lady was continuing to seat other customers as they came in and forgot all about our orders while the other groups got their food before us. Forgot half our food & drink orders. Will never come back here. bad service!!!!!

I am not sure if the chef changed but it is not the same flavor that we are use to from Sanamluang. Hainese chicken and rice is a pretty sinple dish and the sauce that makes the meal was way off.We also ordered rad nah with ground beef and it was missing flavor. There is only so much vinegar pepper sauce u can add to it to try and help it.The one dish that was good was gai pad grapow (basil chicken) this was pretty good.The shrimp cakes were ok they now use a panko batter but it was still okay.Papaya salad i think they are use to feeding non thai people bc Ive never had som tom taste like this. It didnt have all the components sour spicy sweet it was just watery sweet.Maybe today was an off day for them but not sure if we will be trying it again anytime soon.

[Currently close/remodeling] Fav late night to early morning place. Fast/Good portions. Fav: Roast Duck Noodle Soup. General Noodle Soup: light broth w/meats: Bbq pork, duck, ground chicken.. We decided to bring our kids here today to sample the crab cakes after years of not dining there (I missed those). Im very happy I made the decision to come here. We enjoyed our dinner and felt full afterward. The waiter was polite and helpful. All of the meal that we ordered was consumed by us. Unquestionably returning here soon.

Ive not been here for maybe 2 years and was greatly surprised! Theyve remodeled and cleaned this place. The food was delicious and they had so many varieties and very authentic. Whatever your preference is, beef, pork, poultry, seafood, and great for vegetarian too! Service is great and staff is friendly abd attentive! Highly recommended!

Ive been coming here for years...I was sad when I went the last time😔...they remodeled since..I remember the Asian cafe feel different time zone clocks and neon..I liked that vibe...it seemed more cracking back then 2008...when people flocked there.I was shocked and sad to see the parking lot Display of the culture kind of Buddha was ran down and no lights on it wasnt cared for like before like the proud shiny neon cafe experience....the strip mall seemed ran down..way less customers no lighting and the menu was way more expensive .. I love my shrimp cake n rice crabcake...all of it thats five star food ......but I took two off because...I think they should go back to the fancy international Asian cafe the old vibe and take some initiative to clean up the surroundings and fix the decor in the mall they reside in and lower prices....I came here 1998 when it was a small hole in the wall...seen it built into a shiny cafe with a cool neon sign out front..maybe expensive to run...I was like is this the same place?🤔used to be open late.. and seen it come to this third modern interior upgrade thats kinda boring tbh and now the price has gone up... 😔Yikes...still love the food but not the same experience that had me love the whole package..gotta take two for lighting in the parking lot...ran down appearance from outside...fix that display and go back to humble prices

Decided to give this place a try with my friend and it’s absolutely lovely. Food was delicious, service was great, and the setting is very warm and welcoming. We got the chicken fried rice and the vegetable green curry. 11/10 would recommend and definitely coming back.

Ive patronized this place many times before. The food is still good, but the portions served now are smaller and costlier. Theres only 1 wait staff who also doubles as the cashier during my visit. Luckily, the place was not busy ... otherwise, it wouldve been problematic.

I honestly can’t said which one was the worst and pricey too… and they couldn’t even give us fresh limes they gave us rotten limes fist and last time ordering here … worst thai restaurant in north Hollywood.. thai food is very delicious this place the food has a very weird taste and not too mentioned the chicken satay was so over cooked just horrible! Happy new year all! Wanted to make sure I am making 2021 productive by making this review first and foremost. This restaurant was fined and shut off not too long ago (they were all paying workers $3/hr. while also only accepting cash from customer 😏). When they finally reopened I went back in the hope of getting quality, since their food itself wasn’t too bad back in the days. Long story short, they serve food that were cooked and prepped days before/old. My large order of multiple shrimp fried rice were definitely cooked days earlier. When I first received it and saw a lot of chicken in the rice I was wandering why a shrimp fried rice will consist chicken? Welp not too long after eating the rice I realized this rice was probably some fried chicken rice cooked earlier and just served with shrimp and top too pass of a customer. The taste gave it away! Disgusting and foul. Given their fraudulent business ethics from the past, I am not surprised of their current service ethics. I will try my best and make sure to review them in all major sites, inform the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and if possible the Department of Public Health.

EDIT: what happened? My family and I went last week, but the restaurant only had one waitress, who never even bothered to greet us. There werent that many customers in. All the tables were dirty and after waiting by the door for ten minutes we simply left. 😢Old: Delicious food, some of the best Thai food in Los Angeles. Fair prices and quick, friendly service. The parking can be tough to find sometimes, but its usually available if you wait a little.

Always a mixed bag. Sometimes great and at other times bad horibble service. Food is usually good and us why we have been here a lot over the past 15 years. Yes you read that correctly. We have been coming here since about 2003.Management get better servers that can stay on top of their orders and bring the food out at the right times. The crab cakes should not come out after you finished most of the meal. They are an appetizer and should only take minutes. Most of the time when service has been bad is during the day when few people were there. Then weve been there at busy times and it was great. The tasty authentic Thai food is what keeps us back and they also have good prices. I will be back but lets talk to the staff and train them a little better.

Really good and enjoyed the Thai fried rice here! Wasnt particularly fond of the mushrooms in the rice. My friends tried it and said they had a more earthy taste to them. Which I didnt care for, but others might. Otherwise, the service was good! Very attentive and a team work atmosphere here with the servers helping out each other with refills and bringing out food among other things.

I have been coming to this authentic Thai restaurant since 1988 and their prices are extremely reasonable for an amazing meal. This is the best Thai food restaurant in the San Fernando Valley! You will not be disappointed at the quality of the food, the taste is amazing and the portions are big. The only thing lacking there is that it isnt uncommon for your server to take your order, serve your food and never come back.... until they bring your check.

My husband and I have been frequenting this location for a little over a year now. Weve thoroughly enjoyed many of our visits. Recently after boasting about this location we took our friends there for dinner. The service was awful. My friend did not enjoy the food that she ordered. Everyone at our table tried it as well and didnt like it either. The restaurant refused to take it off the bill. They also never took the item off of our table. After I moved it to the table behind us they still never took the plate away. My friends said theyll never go back and Im not too sure that I want to either. Guess they just cost themselves their regulars.

The food is amazing and the ambiance is so chic and cool. Prices are reasonable, nothing bad to say, I would have given a 5 star... except for the fact that they only accept cash. Given there is an ATM machine inside the cafe/ restaurant, they should accept credit cards !!! Honestly I dont trust those ATM machines unless theyre in a bank. Thats the only reason we dont go there as often as wed like, I mean not everybody carries cash anymore.

Enjoyed the food here, I’ve been coming here for a while but decided that during 2021 a review is in order for show my support. The food here taste great and fresh. I love their basic essentials for thai food like their Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. It’s not too overbearing in flavor but also not underwhelming. Other not so basic foods like southern fried rice are great too. One item I think people should always order here is their crab cake. It’s has a good crunch and a nice balanced flavor.I don’t know what people like A M Tahmid Ibrahim is saying about their chicken or other foods not being fresh. You can always see in the back the chefs preparing food for you in the back. Must be mistaking the food they got from here from Krua Thai.One thing I will say though is that their Thai Tea is a bit too sweet for my take but they said other customers at Sanamluang Cafe love the taste so I won’t question it.

The funny thing about Thai curry is that IT IS MADE WITH COCONUT MILK. Any kind of coconut milk, cream, oil, any of it, has the unique properties of when it drops below about 70degrees Fahrenheit it congeals and solidifies. It makes real, authentic Thai food solidify when put in the refrigerator. Its a minor little fact, but tantamount to prove that you are not getting ripped off. Well, this yogurt tasting, non-spicy mockery didnt. Which, maybe if it were good, people wouldnt notice, but it tasted wrong from the beginning. Like someone made curry yogurt and added a bunch of water to it. Do yourself a favor, make your own, its easy. And then maybe you might get your money worth. And you will certainly be able to ensure there is rice automatically included and not have it be an extra they dont even mention when you order.

It saddens me to report that Sanamluang that used be my favorite Thai restaurant is long long dead. Yesterday I was served the worst Thai food Ive had in years in a filthy place that barely looked like the old Sanamluang. The soup contained rubbery overcooked chicken. The Panang curry was more like a watery soup, some floating rubbery chicken, a couple of pieces of veggies, and a thick layer of grease on top. Both dishes appeared in 5 minutes. Obviously they are serving pre-cooked food. We tolerated the soup. The Panang l refused to touch beyond a quick taste or pay for. Thats how Panang is, the lady (who looked Chinese) said. I showed her pictures of Panang on my phone. She then made a call. Then still charged us $3 for the rice. No apology for serving garbage. Sanamluang used to be a lively clean place that served great food at reasonable prices. I took guests there. Then it shut down for a long time, way b4 the pandem, sign claiming it was being renovated but there was no sign of construction. I was delighted to see it was open again. But I found an empty truly sad shell of its past. Almost all the neon and artwork is gone. Seats and tables filthy. I mean some seats crusted with spilled food that I couldnt scrape with a wet wipe. The glass door just covered with stains and smudges. What a loss for LA. Menu still claims the positive media mentions of its past. A reporter should visit now and write a expose. I simply cant belive the A rating on its window. Yeah, A for metamorphosis.

Disappointed. Ordered via postmates pickup at 6:30p arrived at 7:10 to pickup when the tracker said it was ready and the employee told me they didn’t have the order. Then after I showed them my order confirmation for that order they told me it’d be ready in 15 minutes. I ordered medium spicy and I took one bite and it’s too spicy. I am a regular customer here. Overall, I like the recipes at 4 to 5 stars satisfaction rating. I decided to try one this time which I havent tasted before. So my wife and I tried # 30B in the menu book. The taste of the orange color sauce tastes disgusting! I should have asked the server to get it back(my mistake of not having done it...we ate anyway minus the disappointing orange color sauce). Or, was the sauce erroneously prepared/cooked? Otherwise, that #30B recipe should not be in the menu book. So, this time, I am giving my low one star for that #30B recipe experience. Check it out!

My family has been coming here, and to the Hollywood location, for over 20 years. A must stop for whenever we have our-of-towners visiting. My personal choices: Been tendon noodle soup, Tom ka kai, and beef fried rice. But every dish Ive had had been good. They own the Asian market next door, so the ingredients are always fresh. The only regret I have: I dont eat every meal here.

Perfect place for a late night craving of Thai food. We had the crispy pork with Chinese broccoli over rice. Dont forget to ask for a fried egg! We also had a the Pad Kee Mao with beef. This came with ground beef instead of the usual the strips of beef at other places. Still really good! I ordered a Thai tea to go, super sweet! I had to water it down a bit.

I just stopped by at Sanamluang tonight to pick up some good food since the traffic is horrible because its pouring. I was shocked to see that this place has been closed. I thought its just under renovation bit its not. Apparently, the owner was sued for a million dollars for stolen wages. The employees are only making $50 a day and doesnt get meal breaks either.

People who rate this as a lousy place to eat, are seriously high on something. However, not all dishes are the bomb. I tend to go for the #32, 64 and forget the number but the muscells (Sorry, horrible speller) with some kind of amazing garlic sauce. Be ware, you say medium hot and it will burn your tougne off. But, I like heat so all good. Service always sucks (deal with it!), but the food is amazing. I like to try different dishes and see what taste bests. Oh, cant go wrong with the soups there amazing. Cash only, super cheap and good eats.

I have been meaning to leave this review for a while. I would come to this restaurant regularly with friends and family and pay these people about $300 a week if not more just to go and eat there. One day i was short on money and didnt have enouph for tip i felt bad, the female cashier had the nerve to come outside infront of other customers and say no tip today multiple times out loud to try and embarrass me. That was not cool at all after all the money i have spent at this restaurant. All i have to say is this place should be ashamed and i will never return or recommend them to anyone! Also besides the fact that they tried embarrassing me in front of others my food would always get less and less for some reason, i dont get how these people are trying to win customers by doing this to hard working people who pay top notch for there food!

This place is cash only, so bring cash, or be prepared for the atm fee. Thai tea is great, and their egg roles are also very good. We got the Pad Woon Sen today and it was delicious! UPDATE: we came here again, and asked for the Tom Ka soup with added bamboo shoots, which weve had here before, and the cook apparently refused to make it. So rude. Ordered Veg Pad Thai and Red Curry to go. The curry did not seem to be curry at all. It was quite salty with no real curry flavor and had a layer of chili oil at the top. The Pad Thai was equally disappointing - far too many noodles and not enough sprouts or other ingredients, with an unusual underlying flavor. The lime included also was discolored as if it had turned.

Sanamluang features authentic Thai food, down to the decor that most unintiated folks would only think of as kitschy, but dont let it fool you; they features generous, delicious portions that left me stuffed. My favorite dish is chicken, gravy over rice with egg on top. Be prepared for a bit of a challenge finding parking though.

Ive been eating in this restaurant for years! Since 02 i believe when I was little, and still do today, this place is amazing the food is outstanding even though the service can be a little eff but 90% of the time bam good service! This place is only good because its the only place in the valley open so late. The food is so below par. The service is even worse. Everytime I was in line to either pay or order to go, I am always bypassed. Like I was never there. Theyll always ask the person behind me if they need help.

Definitely a keeper. This one of the oldest thai restaurants in existent in the san fernando valley. Despite its long time existence, its well known for its Thai food and chinese food. There are a few chinese dishes that I would recommend such as the huinanese chicken with rice. The resturant feels more like a cafe back in the 60s. Thats what I can get out from the vibe of the restaurant. Be sure to check out their soups, its amazing!!! I would recommend anyone who wants to try thai food for the first time to check this place out first before you plan on going anywhere else.

This place used to be so good, I dont know what happened to it. It looked runned down with a wooden plank for a door, and even tho it wasnt super busy we had to ask our waitress multiple times for things. I dont even want to start on how bad the food was. This is one of two really great Thai restaurants in North Hollywood. Sanamluang has been around for a long time, and has consistently provided good, authentic Thai food. Although if I had to compare this place to KRUA THAI restaurant down the street, Id definitely say that Krua Thai is better because of their slightly better taste and quality of the food. But Sanamluang is still a very safe alternative in case Krua Thai doesnt work out. Sanamluangs food is near similar and is as authentic as Krua Thai and other places in Thai Town Hollywood. In all, I recommend it.
