Always good to have more Southeast Asian cuisine in the Bay Area. SanDai offers very nice ambiance if thats what youre looking for, and even has private dining options for groups.Service was a bit slow despite not many guests, and food is a bit overpriced for the portion size. Entrees dont come with rice, with is a travesty and a money grab. Rendang is a solid option, but the chicken was not worth it.The bakery is very good though - wed come back again.

Amazing! Absolutely love the kopi avocado and the teh halia. The food is also quite food but if you’re familiar with the authentic cuisine, be prepared for a much more western and local twist to it. If not, enjoy! the ambiance of the restaurant is very modern and aesthetic.

This was our first time trying Indonesian and it did not disappoint. Everything was full flavor and very light. Nothing was too heavy but we left satisfied. The only downside was the atmosphere. It seemed a little too bright in the back restaurant. It was reduce the lighting over the tables by 50%. Going back to try the coffee bar.

Great ambience but execution and concept is extremely poor. Reminded me of a boujee kopitiam but with terrible service. Absolutely not family friendly.Food: Ordered the Nasi goreng $27 for lunch, it was 6/10. Flavor of the rice (nasi) was good. The prawns were over cooked and chewy and the fried cracker (Keropok) had a rubbery texture. For the price, you had to peel the prawns but there was no place to put the prawn shells.Service: I hated the concept. You pay and tip at the counter, then it’s basically self serve from there. I came with my 1 yr old. We were never offered a high chair, plate, utensils or napkins. It was seriously inconvenient with a child to walk to the counter to ask for things. Honestly, I got up so many times that I felt like I worked there. Food is packed with spices and water is also self serve in tiny glasses so I was walking back and forth a lot. Waiters never stopped by once to ask if we needed anything but I’d see them talking to other tables. I would have let the staff know the prawns were overcooked but I really couldn’t bother and was annoyed.Suggestions: 1. Educate the staff about families coming in. 2. Taller drinking glasses. 3. Indication of the dishes being spicy would have been nice.

Loved the food, we had tiger prawns, burata, and tahu goreng for appetizers. They were delicious, healthy sizes too so we decided to split our main courses and we ordered lobster laksa, and ayam percent with nasi uduk (very special rice w lemongrass)Service was very nice, friendly staffAtmosphere was not the best part of this place, too loud and bright - but still definitely a place to visit and try different food - you cant go wrong with whatever you chose to eat...

Met a friend here for lunch and we split the Gado Gado and Nasi Goreng. The flavors were delicious and not too spicy. Very good sized portions, too.Next time I’m in the area I would come back to try more of their dishes and drinks.

A truly delicious meal. We ordered the three of the vegan appetizers and they were all delicious- the portion sizes were great and the flavor on the tofu was so good. Loved the mushroom satay. The whole fish was a great main.Service was great, they were a bit overbooked so we sat in the private dining room which was a treat. A great space if you are looking to celebrate with a large party.

Feels like a big responsibility being the first Google review of this new Coffee Shop and Restaurant in Walnut Creek. So here we go... SanDai & KOPI Bar is really two businesses in one location; a Coffee Bar by Day and a Restaurant by night. This review is for the coffee shop which is open now. It is great to have a new coffee shop near me that provides delicious espresso, like my flat white this morning along with my tasty pastry, which I was told are all made in house. Time will tell if this is this the best coffee shop near me - but a great start after my first visit. Im looking forward to coming back and trying their unique espresso drinks. Their staff provides exceptional and friendly service and make you feel welcomed.I cant wait to try their Indonesian-California inspired restaurant when it opens. My wife and I are always looking for new restaurants in Walnut Creek that provide a great vibe and good food.

Everything was delicious. There were four if us so we ordered at least half of the menu. All four of the satays, the stuffed chicken wings, blue rice salad, the turmeric rice and the rice with the fried egg. for entrees the roasted half chicken, baby octopus and the beef Rangoon. all the food was presented beautifully and was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. we also had two desserts, the roulade with coconut caramel sauce and the dragon fruit sorbet with meringue wafers. The service was friendly and casual but attentive and the food came out of the kitchen in a very well-paced way. For a restaurant that only opened a week or so ago I never would have known by the food and service we received. They clearly trained well and worked hard on perfecting things in the kitchen and front of the house before opening their doors to the public. I would definitely recommend SanDai and will be back to try other dishes in the future.

The food was delicious! Went in with my family (party of 9+) for brunch. We tried a variety of dishes and all of them were delicious. We also tried a few of their drinks. The mimosa wasnt as cold as I would have liked but still good. Their chicken and waffle with the sauce was very tasty, but I think the burger was my favorite.
