Best kept secret in SD County. Worth the drive. Rockin Ronnie was fantastic. Spent a good part of my day here waiting on my truck repair, and the atmosphere is great. Bathrooms clean. Staff is super nice and the owner even nicer. They all seem to love being here making one of the best sandwich Ive ever had. Way to go team SB!

Places like this, definitely far and few between the gentleman behind the counter was an older gentleman by the name of Art and the six or seven people in front of me in the line. He was calling each of them by their first name so obviously you have a lot of regulars, which is a great sign, but what also amazed me was the efficiency of the staff. The menu options are pretty much endless with great selection. I got the “Yo Mama” special which is roast beef on a French Roll with lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard and the bread was toasted perfectly being crispy at the first bite but yet soft and warm in the middle, and the meat was warm the cheese melted, the vegetable cold and crisp.

The sandwich shop is tucked in the middle of a shopping center and could be easily missed. The shop is looking worn down and is in need of an update of paint, but dont let that deter you. Their sandwiches are amazing! The bread is fresh and delicious. The sandwich is filled with lots of meat. The add on ingredients are just that...add ons. They dont overpower the sandwich leaving you searching for the meat. The veggies were also fresh. The portions are hearty and if you are a light eater, you could probably share a sandwich and it will be plenty to fill you up. They have many specialty sandwiches listed on the menu board or you can build your own sandwich. Everything we tried was flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend this sandwich shop.

Wow. Holy cow. I did not expect this sandwich to floor me with flavor, but it did. I got the Indian summer (Im pescatarian and its their only special with tuna[I dont care for seafood salad]), I was skeptical of the flavor combinations but oh my.... that sandwich was awesome 🔥🔥🔥Ps. The service was also great.Update; they are still AMAZING quality sandwiches. Can not express the gratitude I have for this place for the quality of food and service they provide. I am nuts about the Indian summer and my dad got the Cuban and is currently loving every bite. Thank you to the women and Art for your craftsmanship.

Blessed to work very close to this sandwich shop. My office gets lunch from here quite often because we love it so much! My favorite is the California Cowboy, and the chicken pesto panini is delicious. Plus, they have REALLY GOOD soups (the chicken poblano & loaded potato are great). Food is very consistent, and I have never been disappointed here. Super soft fresh bread and loaded sandwiches. Definitely go here.

First time at Sandwich Bags. I dont know why Ive never heard of this place before since Ive lived in Santee all my life. Owner said theyd been there 17 years. Basically, Ive been missing out and so have you.Walked in and ordered the Ocho Cinco. Its a roast beef on toasted rye with chipotle sauce and pepper jack. A delicious, high quality deli, style sandwich. I think Ill just start going through their sandwich menu one at a time. Every sandwich looks good.

I was craving a Club Sandwich so I searched via Google and Sandwich Bags came up with some really good reviews so I gave it a try. Fast and friendly service! My sandwich was excellent, it was so big I had it for breakfast and lunch. I will definitely go back!

Ok I love a good sandwich and I think I found a bit of sandwich heaven here! Was instantly greeted by the owner and his crew, impressive! Unfortunately I was in a rush and couldnt take my time to fully read the menu because the menu is full of cleverley creative sandwiches and I had a list from my friend who referred me here. If you like Turkey and cranberry then you have to try the #18, Turkey Blueberry....Amazing!!! and will definitely order again! #5 Indian Summer, albacore tuna twist...OMG! Thank you Arthur!

When you see a 4.9 (rating at the time of this review) you wonder: Is it really a 4.9? Or, do you just have customers who are very generous?Its really a 4.9. I had the California Ruben and it was one of the best hot sandwiches Ive ever had. I can still smell the smokey pork loin in my mustache. The owner is extremely friendly as well. Ill certainly be back.

Absolutely amazing! We got the blueberry Turkey and the Indian summer. Both sandwiches were super delicious! We also got to talk to the owner who is so friendly and clearly very passionate about his shop. So refreshing to see someone that loves what they do and really puts their heart into it. This was my first time visiting this deli, and I have no regrets! I ordered a #20 and a #15. Both sandwiches were delicious and big enough to save half for later! The man taking the orders (might have been the owner) was patient and helpful as people ahead of me asked for his recommendations. A great experience, and I will be back to try more of the 20+ sandwichs they have to offer. My one recommendation is to order ahead! They are busy and it took about 20 mins to get my food.

These are truly amazing handcrafted sandwiches. Ive tried about 80% of the sandwiches on the menu and I must say every single one of them are good and a handful of them are amazing! A little on the pricier side but 100% worth the money every penny of it. I much rather pay a little bit more for excellent quality and taste. I highly recommend this establishment for lunch or everyday occurrence. My only gripe would be to bring back the reward system. I bought so many sandwiches there it would be nice to get rewarded with a free one every once in awhile.

Best sandwiches in San Diego County. Top notch ingredients, polite service. I am not a huge sandwich eater but after finding this place, instead of eating a sandwich once every 3-4 months, now its once every 2-3 weeks. The breads are delicious. Even of you only eat half the sandwich the other half stays extremely fresh, delicious and doesnt become soggy for the next day or two as a leftover.The owner is a very kind and good man. Onçe you spot him you will see that he loves his business and runs a great shop.

I frequent this sandwich shop often since it is close to my work. Get the #8, chicken pesto sandwich with grilled onions on panini bread. The chocolate chip cookies are baked daily, but be careful. Sometimes, they come out overcooked and too crunchy.

We found this spot while searching for a sandwich spot on Yelp. We didnt want to go to your typical jersey mikes or mainstream place. So we decided to support a small business instead. This place was awesome! The staff was working hard and they were nice. The food was fresh and the sandwiches came out in an orderly time. I’ve known the owner for 30 years and his background in the Restaurant biz is so diverse that it does not surprise me one bit that he makes the best sandwiches in San Diego. 5 star service as well. Ordered the spicy bbq chicken sandwich and the “Ashley” turkey avo club w/spinach, best damn sandwiches we ever had. Great value, much food for under 10$(tax included). Owner gives a discount/loyalty card to everyone, very nice man. Employees are kind and always seem happy. Quick service, I got in and put with 2 orders in 6 minutes. Santee Hero blew my expectations out of the water! if you are still shopping at sub-marina or subway you are getting bland sandwiches for the same price. $10 gave me more here than I could ever purchase at subway. The sandwiches delicious and pretty tasty and the staff is really friendly. They have a stamp card so Everytime you buy a sandwich you get a stamp. Buy 10 sandwiches and you get one for free! Great way to keep the customers coming back. The place itself is on a small plaza next to the liquor store and Filippis pizza so its hard to miss. Its great if youre a local!

Now I would have posted a pic but I ate it so theres that, but trust me on this, if you order one of these bad boys, you wont be sorry! Its an East County spin on your traditional hero (see menu for description). The bread alone is fire, and theres a perfect balance of meat, cheese and condiments. This was our 1st time here and my sandwich was just ok. What killed this place for me was the service. We placed our order at the counter and 4 customers after us received their sandwiches before we did. When we addressed our issue with the staff. The response was the wait was due to us ordering 2 sandwiches versus 1. Really?!?! Shouldnt the sandwiches be made in order...Maybe we just happen to go on an off day. But we wont be going back.

Sandwich Bags is a great deli. Every incredible sandwich can be made into a salad! The salads and the sandwiches are fantastic, plus they serve breakfast sandwiches and more their.
