Ordered the All You Can Eat Sushi. Very disappointed at the quality of the food. The sushi looked like Super Market Sushi that was made yesterday. The price was definitely Restaurant Level though.The quality was poor enough that I didnt bother to order anything beyond the first round. On the good side, there were people in the place that ordered other non-sushi dishes and they looked great. Also, at least I didnt get sick after eating the sushi.

Chicken Legs (dark meat) + steamed veggies = $8.50Steak + Cali Rolls + spinach & kale salads = $14.50.Is a nice comfy inside. You can order all you can eat sushi (not a lot of varieties). But I ordered meals to go.

I went to other branch hoping that the same quality of food will be served. The pork konkatsu served to me was burnt not all parts though but I was expecting the same quality as the one I usually get from the other branch.

This place has a fantastic teriyaki chicken with rice bowl. The quality of it is great and the price is cheap. They also serve sushi similar quality to a sushi bar but a bit more on the pricey side. Overall this is a great place for a lunch.

Updated 11/5/22 - the food has been good the last couple times so I’m upping my review to 4 stars. If they keep it up, I will change it to 5.I like the food here but have to give 1 star because they are so inconsistent. Also, the oriental “salad” is just a bunch of spinach now. Why do you keep running out of salad??? Either this place is poorly managed, or the employees hate their jobs, or both. They couldn’t even be bothered to provide any sauce or napkins today.

Great value. They definitely dont have the finest cuts, but the options and amount of food you get are insane! Love to come here after seeing a movie, or just when Im in the mood for a ton of sushi! Their poke bowl is simply the best value out there; its only about $10 and comes with avocados and a whole miso soup! You cannot beat that. I often replace the usual salmon and tuna with tofu as Im leaning towards the vegan / vegetarian world these days. Lastly, I just tried to order the poke bowl online, and they didnt offer the option, so I called the place and the gentleman over the phone went out of his way and set up a similarly priced item online and told me to order it. Needless to say I received my order correctly and rapidly. Great place

The consistency of quality food has decreased in the past years. I been coming here for 6+ years and last time I was there was about 5 months ago my steak was not cooked properly. I made the owner aware just as courtesy but stop going there. Today I ordered some Jalapeno Peppers and were cold, I called the owner right away when I got home and he said what do you want me to do?

Went for the first time for lunch. Not sure if its always that expensive or prices have shot up like everywhere else. They do give you pretty good portions well at least for the Poke bowl I got. But its not top tier fish (which I didnt expect). I would go back but not often at that price point.

Went with friends yesterday. I got a large piece of salmon, vegies and a little rice with no sauces because I am gluten free. There was a long piece of metal from a scouring pad in my food and it went in my mouth. Luckily didnt swallow it. We went to the counter to show them and the moody woman in a soiled apron wasnt affected and no apologies. My friend finally asked for another plate and they should have refunded her. I will not return.

The food is good, but now if you want extra sauce (hot sauce, ginger, teriyaki) you now have to pay an extra .25 cents for each because you are only allow one condiment per meal! Of course there is no mention of this when your ordering, only when picking up your meal. This San Sai in Chatsworth has always been like this. I’m over it

It was absolutely delicious. First time here and with the covid-19 pandemic going on the cashier was not only covered properly but super nice! Thank you young man! I had the noodles and chicken with kale, white rice and a side order of tempura shrimp and veggies and it was worth every morsel

This place is always super awesome and delicious. I usually go for the poke bowl because Ive had roll once or twice and didnt like it as much as my usual place but the pokes great. They give really good sizes. It usually comes with a salad. If you have kids and theyre not into fish they do have teriyaki chicken thats really good its not dry at all like other places. Theyre always really friendly and help you right away.

Clean, clean, clean this place sparkles, which cleanliness is a top priority for me when eating at restaurants. Nice updated interior with good lighting, you don’t feel like your eating in a cave. The food is consistently very good here, the salads always look freshly made. I’ve had their salmon combo plate, tempura plate, Udon soups, California roll, spicy tuna roll, and have tried all their salads. All dishes tasted very good. I recently had their pokey bowl and loved it. The portion was large and came with both salmon and tuna, crab salad, sliced cucumbers and rice with a sprinkle of seaweed. I’ve had many pokey bowls at other fast food eateries, but I would have to say this was my favorite. A friend and I sat here catching up for over 2 hours and we never felt rushed out or felt we annoyed them by taking up a booth for so long. We felt very comfortable here.

A good healthy alternative to the usual suspects when it comes to fast fare. While I wouldnt put my money on the sushi here, their dishes like the chicken and steak combo, their poki bowl and their soups are excellent. Good quality meats and produce used. The shredded cabbage salad with wonton strips that is offered as a choice of side dish is not only healthy, it is delicious. Prices are moderate. Staff is alright..usually pretty friendly.

Pretty mediocre quality as far as the sushi goes but not unlike what you would expect from a place like this. The teriyaki is really no different than any other teriyaki from similar restaurants. Seems like a good place for a quick bite, but you certainly would not go out of your way to eat here.Service is good, place feels like just about any other chain.

Like Taco Bell is to Mexican food, this restaurant is to Japanese. Horrible!! Ramen taste like it came straight out the package just without the flavor pack. Tempura was soggy, sushi was very mediocre. And it was expensive! Ill never eat here again.

Needless to say, I will never return to this Sansai. I placed an order for the curry chicken plate with rice, miso soup, and a veggie skewer along with an order of potstickers online for takeout through Grubhub. I allowed 30 minutes, per their recommendation. When I arrived at Sansai and went to the pickup counter, the woman looked at me with confusion and irritation when I told her the name on the order. The first red flag.It took her a minute, but she finally went and checked the items waiting for pickup and brought mine over. The receipt looked correct with the right items listed, so I signed and took it to a table. Upon opening the bag, I did not find my order. Instead, it was someone elses steak with salad. None of my items were present. I brought it back to the counter, thinking it was a simple mistake, that they would take this to the rightful owner and bring mine over. Instead, the same woman took the receipt I signed and read the items listed. Again, none of which was in the bag.She finally took it back and, instead of getting my food, took the receipt to the chef and, from what I gathered, asked her to make my plate. I say, from what I gathered, because at no point did anyone tell me what was happening. I then stood at the counter for another minute, being ignored, until I finally asked the woman how long it would take. 10 minutes, she tells me.I am an hourly employee. My lunches are only thirty minutes and, by this time, I had wasted 8 of those precious minutes. I asked her to cancel my order so I could leave. Instead, another employee walks up with an annoyed expression on his face to ask whats going on. I told him I would need my lunch in about 2 minutes, otherwise I didnt have time and would have to leave. He tells me, sure, itll be ready in two minutes, directly contradicting the previous employee. There was no way I could trust anything these two told me, so I left. Luckily, grub hub cancelled my order and refunded my money without issue and without delay.The employees at this Sansai are both incompetent and disorganized, a dangerous combination in this day and age. You may wonder why this review is so long at this point, considering that my order was only $17. But thats an entire hours wages which almost disappeared due to the incompetence of a fake Japanese restaurant.Thankfully, theres a subway right next door.

Being optimostic, had it exchanged foe tempura shrimp. ..this was no better 😢😢😢😢. Then the cashier said there was a difference of .50...that he owed me...never gave it back to me. Awful experience! This is like a fast food restaurant located in Winnetka Ave in Chatsworth. If you dont mind how they make sushi properly and you just want all you can eat sushi this is the place to go. The salmon eggs is ptetty good its fresh. I will not recomend the beef its too chewy.

Slightly disappointed... but its oaky. I have been a SanSai customer for over 6 years all over LA. The salmon was good (I like it over cooked) but I noticed the plate didnt have the veggie skewer (just three pieces of zucchini) and the Sumi salad didnt have enough dressing and crispy won ton strips.

I eat at restaurants at least twice a day. When it comes to casual/fast food chains, I now know that the taste and quality of foods very from different locations. I have tried two sansai Japanese grill. The first time trying it was in nothridge on Winnetka. I loved it. I then tried it twice near my home on Ventura Blvd near DeSoto. The worst. Fish was warm, tasted bad or no flavor and they did not have the varity the Northridge sansai. I would totally recommend to everyone that it is worth driving the distance if you want to have the best poke bowl ever. Dont forget to ask them to add the seaweed salad. Unbelievably soo..... good

Best Sansai is on Winnetka and Prairie. Every thing is fresh, tastes good, offers seaweed salad and puts it in their poker bowls. I have tried lots of sansai since this one and, its scary. Their fish in their poke bowls are warm and they dont offer seaweed yet they give you soup. Sushi should be cold, I dont care about the soup and I love the added seaweed salad.If you have tried sansai and did.not like it, you must try the one near the Winnetka theater. The best. You will crave for it
