And beach volleyball 🏐🏐The classic palm-tree lined Santa Barbara beach has everything needed under the sun for a fun day in the sand. The beach is gorgeous, has a playground for littles and volleyball courts for adults. There are well maintained restrooms, water spigots to wash off sand. When we visited, there was a yoga on the beach class going on. What a cool way to enjoy nature and workout!Wanted to check out a few film locations of Psych, (the comedy series on Amazon prime with Shawn and Gus) and picked this as one of the spots to visit on our San Diego road trip from the SF Bay area.Parking lot at the Santa Barbara beach is huge and you pay at the meter.Highly recommend this beach if you are in the area.

Beautiful place! Well maintained, the grounds are clean, sands clean, plenty of trash boxes & the bathroom is clean. Its worth driving to if youre not near the area. Public parking was $18 for the whole day.
Not too packed, chill and beautiful. Parking was 3.00 for an hour which is cool. But since the parking spots are small and the cars are close to each others, there is possibility someone hit your car and run lol Im saying because I just saw someone hit other car while reversing. It was my first time there.

There are volleyball courts at the east end of the beach with lots of open beach for surf fishing! There is a restaurant on the beach where you can sit and look at the waves on the patio. Pretty good beach, sand is B quality, not super fine, but fine with a few bits of trash here and there (more trashy near the parking lot, cleaner closer to the water). The water slope is somewhat gradual so its OK for kids with adult supervision. Waves are mild to medium aggressive.

We took our newly acquired family member, grogu our black brindle German Shepherd puppy to Southern California and we couldnt wait any longer as we were traveling down highway one and when we hit Santa Barbara the scenery was so beautiful and the beach was so close you could almost touch it from the car so I pulled over, grab the dog and Deanna and we ran to the beach literally. The photos represent our first encounter with the Pacific Ocean with our new dog. The Santa Barbara area is absolutely stunning and beautiful, the people are very friendly and warm and generous.The most important noticeable feature about our trip in Santa Barbara was the pride the citizens took there and keeping their city clean. There was absolutely no litter anywhere! There were no trash pop cans and garbage scattered throughout in fact the beach was spotless.

I really like this beach. Its vast, so there are a lot of places to play or sit or whatever feels good to you. A couple of things to keep in mind, the sand gets extra HOT in the summer! Do not try to walk on it without some kind of covering on your feet. This is no joke! You can get burned - this goes double for the blacktop in the parking area. The other thing, parking is hard to get in those lots on either side, especially on the weekends. My suggestion, park by the zoo, and walk across the street. Your parking will be free, the lot parking isnt free, and youll need a credit or debit card to pay for parking.There is a restaurant on the premises in the renovated Cabrillo Pavillion. The Cabrillo Pavillion is beautiful! If you want to hold a party/wedding/event there, it has amazing views and excellent staff.Its a big, beautiful beach. There is a lot going on...you can pick up a volleyball game, paddle board, surf, swim, or just sit and listen to the sounds around you. Bring a umbrella, towel, shoes, sunscreen, a cool beverage, and a chair...you can chill.

There was some crude oil on the beach that would get stuck to our feet and was impossible to get off without wipes or soap and water. That stuff shouldn’t be on beaches where people and animals are.
Walking, biking, sites, sounds, people, yoga, the warf, beach and ocean, artists, some expensive cars, and the perfect weather !
Its visually nice but the shore had tar and no warning or postings. I would think Santa Barbara would have it together enough to warn ppl.

One of the most beautiful beaches that my wife and I got to know. It is just wonderful to feel the sand under your feet and to see the blue of the ocean, the Pacific, and to bathe in it. Also ideal for sunbathing, playing volleyball, romping, running, relaxing, cycling and just wonderful. You can also start and fly your drone here without any problems.

A most pleasant beach, with showers and restrooms, the parking lot has free spaces, paying but quite reasonable, you choose the number of hours then pay by credit card in swipe.Several restaurants are nearby, I highly recommend the Convivo Restaurant & Bar.

2023-07-06 14:12:58One of my favorite beaches. When we were here it was nice and foggy in the morning but not windy or cold. By afternoon the fog burns off and its a whole new beach! Filled with sunshine and a royal blue sea.

2023-09-19 22:22:21Nice beach with scenic views. The sand has lots of tar and sticks to your feet. Will ruin your walk on the beach. I experienced the same thing at the beach by the Goleta pier. It wont wipe off and requires a heavy scrubbing, so it will be with you all day. Im sure that if youre in the water youre getting it all over your body. Its a shame that the local beaches are so dirty.

2022-09-25 08:11:17I love this place. Very nice and calm beach. Even kids can swim here. Very small tides. Stunning view. The pier and harbour is amazing. We can rent different types of water activities like kayaking, whale watches, snorkeling etc. Good restaurants are available and restaurants are famous for sea food Sea Urchins and Box Crabs.A good place for a nice one day weekend.
