Honestly, Im not usually a noodle, ramen, or udon person, but this place is a real gem. The soup, the texture of the noodles, and the blend with the meat—its absolutely delicious! I never thought Id give a noodle place a high rating, but here we are. If youre not typically a fan of noodles, this spot might just change your mind.

Everything was great! we ordered a little bit of everything — a large pork chashu bowl, a california roll, a salmon + avocado roll, an original tonkotsu ramen, and the matcha boba. we even ordered an extra egg because they were so amazing! the service and atmosphere were great as well. it was very kid-friendly and the wait staff were all extremely kind :)

Absolutely delicious ramen, not your average ramen shop. Very decent portions for the price without compromising the taste.Comes with Hi-Chew snacks afterwards.Service is centrally outside with nice heaters that keep the atmosphere warm and comfortable.

Nice ramen and sushi restaurant. Service was excellent!Ramen was good. I thought the sushi was really good and presented very well.The SB craft red/spicy ramen could be spicier for my palete, I needed to add more chili paste. Flavor of the spicy broth was otherwise good.I did like at ambience, it was plenty busy when we visited at about 8pm on a Thursday.Finally the Japanese beer that accompanied the food was very reasonably priced and served nice and cold!

We were visiting on a cruise from Vancouver and had the amazing black garlic ramen! We have had many bowls of ramen from ramen shops all over Vancouver and we’re happy to say that Santa Barbara craft ramen didn’t disappoint! Rich flavour and chewy noodles. Servers were friendly and I wish this place was much easier for us tourists to get to haha!

Great food, came to the table really fast. Service was pretty slow though; my friends and I would’ve waited 30 minutes for the check if I didn’t say anything. The waiter also forgot a couple things from our order but it’s okay because they were just drinks.

Ordered the chicken & veggie Ramen. Apps were the fried salmon & the vegan Karaag. Pretty decent portions and flavors! I was not blown away by the flavors but would return to try other items on the menu. It can be pretty loud here even during lunch hours. The r&b/pop music playing outdoors and the different genre music playing in the restaurants kitchen are so close together it clashed & was really difficult to hear the person in front of me. Hopefully they can turn the kitchen music down or arrange the seating away from the kitchen. Again- not food related but not somewhere I would hang around too long for. Possibly will take to go next time.

Everyone in our party had some sort of Ramen bowl, and they lived them! My mom and I had California Roll. OMG, the California rolls were awesome and tasty. I was so hungry, I forgot to take a picture of my food. Sorry. The staff were amazing and thorough. I have an allergy to soy and they were about to accommodate me. This place is awesome! Plus it came highly recommended by friends in the Santa Barbara area.

My girlfriend has been telling amazing things about this place and she took me there this week to try, and it was LITERALLY beyond amazing! The server was super friendly and kind, and the Ramen was perfectly cooked still chewing and the broth was magnificent flavorful!!! We also order a rice bowl with pork shoulder and it was Unbelievably delicious! HIGHLY recommend!

Everyone I mean everyone was so very friendly. The ambience outside is just beautiful. Its lit at night and there are heaters. Inside is a little bit loud but there is a good view of the chefs. Ive heard mixed reviews. A lot of reviews I heard said the noodles are not done. My observation is that at first if you dont wait for it to cool off for a little bit the noodles finished cooking and were perfect. I also had seaweed salad and chicken. The chicken was to die for. I loved it! I had a lovely experience and will definitely be going back. If you like Ramen I do recommend this place. This was my first time eating Ramen that wasnt out of the package.

My family and I walked in on a busy Saturday evening but got greeted and seated right away. Service was excellent, fast, and accurate. All of the food we ordered was delicious! Our favorite dish was the yuzu shoyu beef shoulder ramen-definitely recommend! We wished we lived closer so we could go there more often. I’ve had my fair share of ramen (let’s just say I eat it with chopsticks to give you an idea of my expertise) and this is my new favorite spot. The spicy ramen was perfectly spicy. Like it would definitely hurt if you had chapped lips, but it’s the level of spicy that just kind of tingles your lips for 20 minutes after you’re done eating. The broth did not taste overly salty, and the pork belly was. so. good! I’m sad to say we were just passing through town, but if I ever find myself back in SB, I’ll come here immediately! As a side note, the waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and informative about the dishes making this overall a 10 out of 5 experience. Reasonable pricing for their downtown location. Thanks, guys!

Great location, outdoor seating, perfect to people watch as you eat. Disappointed with the food. They had only one vegetarian ramen bowl. The miso broth was flavorless and dense. The vegetarian karaage was like eating sponge. The avocado roll was good, and vegetarian gyozo was passable. All in all, skip!

Good food, bad service. Food was well made and came out fast. Massive communication issue resulted in a really confusing issue. Waiter told our group of 6 we could pay seperatly, but when we got to paying, there was a 3 check maximum that was not mentioned and resulted in scrambling to find ways to pay on top of the gratuity.

Stop in last night (02Jul23) at about 7pm.Nice seating on the patio, and immediately or wait staff showed up offering water and asking for drinks.If you order sushi rolls, I would highly recommend you order that first and wait until it arrives before you order your ramen.Rolls where real good, but the black garlic ramen was the real star and why I gave 5 stars for this review.Staff where also friendly and respectful.Will be back.

The ramen is solid. Make sure to get the pork belly though, especially if you enjoy fat. If you dont enjoy fat, you dont really know how to fully appreciate Asian food so this review probably isnt for you. The way the pork belly is crispy and ever so slightly charred is amazing. It almost melts in your mouth. The pork belly turned this into an easy 5 star review.

This was my first time trying ramen. I was very happy they had a vegan option. It was really savory. I got it with rice noodles. Miso that was really creamy.We also had the shishito peppers (delicious) and spicy edamame (could have done without). They had a veggie roll and avocado roll for sushi as vegan options but didn’t try them.Outdoor seating with heaters. Very good vegan option.Their drink menu was limited otherwise would have given a 5 star.

I’ve tried dozens of ramen places in my life, and this is the best ramen I’ve ever had. The red (spicy) and black (garlic) are both incredible. The broth is the best on it’s own. And the pork belly is the best on it’s own. And with those combined, it really puts this ramen in a league of its own. I consider myself lucky for having been able to have it in my own town and eaten it dozens of times.I have since moved away and tried to find a replacement and nothing compares. I may move back to Santa Barbara just for the ramen.

This was my favorite meal from a recent 3 day trip to Santa Barbara. I got the spicy mixing ramen with a poached egg, which has a sauce rather than broth -- delicious! This place was so good. I had chicken ramen with veg broth. I got to know from my friends that pork broth ramen was tastier than mine. The ambience was good. Very nice that theyre able to swap out the tofu for egg, friendly service and fast delivery of the food. To note, this is a delivery order review.Unfortunately, the SB Spicy mixing ramen broth with the ramen tasted like a wet sock. Impressed to find how delicious SBCR’s offerings are. From the red (spicy) ramen to the black (black garlic) ramen, to the sushi and drinks, everything was perfect. Broth is legit, noodles are done just right and accompaniments are all delicious. Sushi is clean and you taste all the ingredients (yellowtail roll & eel roll). This is my first visit to Craft Ramen. I was not disappointed! We had the eel roll, the Philadelphia roll as appetizers. They were both very good, the eel roll sauce was slightly different than the regular sweet sauce. They added a light mustard sriracha sauce spread next to the Philadelphia roll and it was not quite as flavorful as I had hoped. Overall they were very good appetizers.I then shared the black garlic ramen with pork belly. It was very good, very rich, although I found the pork belly to not be as tender as I thought it would be. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the presentation is beautiful.Overall, this is a very good restaurant for ramen! The fact that they also offer sushi makes the variety even better. The location is Central downtown and the atmosphere is very mellow cant wait to go back!

A great addition to downtown Santa Barbara! The ramen broth is always consistently on point. My husband and I always stick with the spicier Red Ramen option, usually with chicken. The spicy edamame is delicious balance of hot and garlic. Definitely recommend it!

I dont understand the high rating for this place. Everything about the ramen was bad. They didnt use the right noodles, the broth didnt taste good, the eggs were very runny, raw veggies which just ruins the ramen experience.I would suggest going to sea food places for which Santa Barbara is known for rather than expecting a good ramen spot.

We have been coming here for over 3 years! And the time is really unbelievable the way my family was treated today! I guess if you are white you get priority. We waited 10 minutes to get a table, but there was a group of good looking gentlemen and the hostess decided to sit them before us, and when we asked how much longer she didnt like it, it is so unprofessional, after we sat down it took 10 minutes just to get water 10 more minutes to order, 20 minutes after we only got 2 out of 4 plates, we waited 10 more minutes to asked, no one came in to asked if we were ok or check if we got food, my husband went to the fron and asked and noticed that the party of 5 who was sat before us was finishing their meal! We feel discriminated, they told my husband that they will rush the other 2 plates, which they didnt, 4 tables got their ramen that were sitted after us! I guess the bottom line is that if you are good looking and white this is the place for you, if you look Hispanic, dont bother to come here, we been going to this place at least 2 times a month, I guess the owner has hired a new management to take his restaurant to the white level, we walked out with out eating with my kids upset because we couldnt get there food.

I wanted to give the place a try regardless some bad reviews but I was quite disappointed. The value is really bad. I paid almost $16 dollar for a veggie Ramen with rice noodles. Three pieces of tofu, a couple pieces of vegtable and salad in a tasteless broth with noodles. Its probably the worth Ramen soup I have ever eaten. Not sure if the other soups are better but its definitely overpriced.

This is, hands down, the best ramen I have ever tasted!The broth in the black ramen is a paean to umami. The flavor is rich and indulgent, with a blend of chicken and pork stock, and the delicate richness of black garlic.The red chili garlic paste is made in-house, with a complex, well-developed flavor, and the pork belly was seared to a light crisp so that it gave a little crunch before melting in my mouth.The servers were friendly and polite, and Ill definitely be visiting again whenever Im in the area!

Our daughter loves noodles. So whenever were out we tend to go to a place that has them. Weve been to Craft Ramen once before and I remember the broth being amazing. So we stopped by again this time during our trip to Santa Barbara. The broth is still amazing. We both just ordered the house specialty. This time the wait staff was also amazing. Our waiter was super friendly and our water was refilled really fast. The waiter saw our toddler struggling with the chopsticks and brought out a device that would help her. He then proceeded to teach her how to use them. We have been to countless Asian restaurants with our little girl and this is the first time this has happened. In addition I was breastfeeding the entire time because my infant decided he was starving. Not one of the male waitstaff blinked an eye or acted awkward. All in all it was a fantastic stop and it really made this trip great.

My veggie ramen was pretty good, but like others have said, the miso broth was thicker than expected and more gravy like. However, my daughter ordered the black garlic oil ramen. Which to me, seems really good and would have an edible amount of oil in it. Nope! It was gamey and extremely oily tasting a bit rancid. I eat here every week. I have had a lot of different gourmet ramen and this place is by far my favorite. The spicy broth is thick with just the right amount of heat, the noodles are always cooked very well, the pork shoulder falls apart. The menu is pretty decently sized, though at first glance it may appear a wee small. The broth holds a very rich, smooth flavor with heaping helpings of flavorful meats (they definitely do not skimp you on the pork or chicken) and deliciously tender noodles that fill you a lot faster than youd expect. I ended up needing 2 containers to take home my leftovers. This was my first time trying takoyaki as well and I loved it so much! It was so savory-sweet and the octopus was well diced to where it wasnt chunky or overly-chewy, while they made sure to be generous with the sauce. As previously said, the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and the servers were all polite, attentive, and my water cup never reached the bottom before being refilled. Overall it was a memorably wonderful experience and I will definitely be going back very soon.

The veggie ramen option was uninspiring and the combination of miso and tahini didnt work well for the broth, which was thick, heavy and lacking in flavor. In addition, you had to pay extra for rice noodles to make it vegan. The staff was friendly, but I cannot recommend the food if you are looking for a veggie option around.

Waited for 6 - 8 mins to be seated. Sat at our table for 13 mins without anyone even greeting us. We were starving so we decided to leave and shared our experience with the female owner / Manager. She could care less and just said, sorry we are busy. She should at least pretend she cared

We are staying in a hotel and ordered 3 ramens through DoorDash since we didn’t want to go out and drive, but didn’t get any utensils, how are we supposed to eat a ramen without any utensils? Calling them to let them know the issue and telling me it was the DoorDash driver’s obligations to get the utensils ready? Aren’t they supposed to pick up the food and deliver it? The restaurant is supposed to have everything ready before pick up. And telling to come pick up the utensils like we ordered through DoorDash so we don’t have to go out in the first place. Now we didn’t have a choice to go but pick it up. I am so pisssed!!!

I had the spicy ramen with pork belly, and my so had the poke bowl. Both were excellent. The owner was friendly, and the service was prompt and efficient. I would definitely return.

Very hit or or miss, I guess depending on who is in the kitchen. The pork belly isnt just seared, but often charred to the point where all I can taste is burned. The rice, on the other hand, was good.

This is the first time I’ve seen pork shoulder in a ramen and man is it amazing. Also some of the best pork belly chashu you can get. Add the black garlic, trust me.

I am willing to drive over from East L.A. for this bomb ramen. Everything about it was amazing but that pork belly changed me fort he better! It was crispy on and melted in my mouth with the rich broth ~Cant wait to come back!

The Red Tonkatsu and the Black Tonkotsu Ramen Noodles with Pork Belly is amazing! Ive also tried it with chicken. Chef Mitsu has put in enormous effort to ensure that his Ramen is authentic to what you might find in Japan, while also having a unique flavor. This is the only restaurant I would recommend if youre interested in eating a truly authentic everyday Japanese dish. This has now become my favorite Japanese restaurant in Santa Barbara, as well as the only place to eat on State Street.

It is an over-hype ramen place. The ramen is very salty. I know Japanese ramen (i.e. Santouka) can be salty, but this place is at another level. You may want to order soyou ramen if you prefer normal salt level ramen. I overheard the server telling the guests at the table next to ours. The noodle (large weavy) and its texture are also different from the norm. Service is good. Overall, I dont think it is good enough to warrant a return to this establishment.

Delicious ramen at perfect location, hardly 5 min away from US 101. We came at this place while driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Its located at State Street and a min walk from public parking.

Been three times. The food is excellent but the worst service. My last time there I literally had to stand up and shout to get anyones attention. My server acknowledged me 5 times and still never came over to the table. Eventually I just walked out and havent been back since.

It was a cold March evening got off work and was very hungry. Went to Santa Barbara craft ramen had a great ramen bowl of soup very flavorful, with sushi on the side it really hit the spot these guys know what theyre doing

Ok food, our server was horrid though. He didnt bring us 2 drinks we ordered, messed up our order twice (which took 30 min to make), charged us for items that we didnt get because he messed up our order, and then messed up the checks when it was a simple 3 person split.

Very delicious, flavorful ramen. Try the black ramen if you love garlic! Also, the fried octopus were a real deal appetizer. Crisp, fresh, and really really tasty.

I think the Craft Ramen (either spicy or not) is the best ramen in town! The restaurant is also with a perfect location. The staffs are always friendly, helpful, and efficient!
