2023-10-31 21:42:08Excellent fish and chips and calamari at a killer price. The fresh fish selection also looks amazing and their accouterment section has a ton of unique options with a good amount made in house. Highly recommend this spot for quality, decently priced seafood which is not the norm in SB. Helpful for families who love fresh seafood but don’t want to go pay a higher price at a fancier spot

2023-10-16 21:41:55Stopped in for lunch at noon Monday 10-16-23. Fairly crowded, but the line moved quickly. Seating was almost full. We had the Ahi Poke bowl (spicy but good) & grilled fish tacos. Everything was great. You could hear others expressing the same opinion.

2023-11-10 18:44:21When I first noticed that SB Fish Market not only an outpost, but also a restaurant in Goleta, I was stoked! Now I no longer have to drive to the marina, look for parking and wait in a line of tourists for the same delicious, fresh seafood. The inside of the store had a plethora of products: canned items (fancy caviar, pickles, olives, etc), condiments and sauces (including many Asian-specific items), cold beverages, freshly prepared to-go items (seaweed salad, uni, slaws, sashimi and more). If youre in a hurry while on a lunch break, grab a drink, bag of chips and a prepackaged meal, and youre on your way! There is also a glass display stuffed with local and non-local seafood selections. Fish fillets, Channel Island Uni, shrimp, crab, oysters, scallops, clams, squid and everything in between! I encourage you to buy any and all things that are marked as local. Support our local, hardworking seafarers! Now on to the restaurant:I wish I could give 5 stars but theyre new and have some hiccups to work out. There are two lines (though it is not clear): one for the restaurant and another for the fish counter. Unfortunately the space is small so they end up running into one another. Staff was very friendly, patient and willing to answer questions. The outdoor patio has many tables yet limited space. Everyone is squeezed together like canned sardines. The staff who delivers the food can barely fit in between the tables and chairs. As for our food:It could have been better... And I suppose I should have ordered the Fish n Chips that looked spectacular. My partner ordered the Tuna Melt which didnt have cheese--a bit odd to be considered a melt. We also thought it would have been better with a slice of tomato. The tuna definitely was fresh and not from a can, so that was pleasant surprise. I had the Oregon Bay Shrimp Rolls which were decent but very plain in flavor. Luckily there was a bottle of mayonnaise so I made the shrimp into a little shrimp salad and then it was much better. Perhaps they should season the shrimp better. The brioche bread was nicely grilled, however, the Caesar Salad wedge was underwhelming. All in all, Unid to check this place out! I hope to give the restaurant another try after some time.

2023-10-28 17:37:47Wow what a pleasure getting to eat here! One of the better meals I’ve had in quite a while. Girlfriend got the local rock fish and chips, I got the crispy sole sandwich and caesar wedge. Everything was cooked to perfection. Ordered the fries “dirty” which came tossed in a parsley, garlic, parmesan combination I can only describe as heavenly. The pickled red peppers were a treat to bite into. Definitely trying the rest of the menu in the future. Staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the food is great. Goleta got a new gem! Awesome experience and I look forward to returning 10/10!

2023-12-02 22:30:23The raw bar and poke was excellent as expected, but I was surprised just how incredibly tasty the cooked dishes were. This spot is likely the best cooked seafood you can get on the Goleta side now, maybe even in the whole city. A must visit!

2023-12-10 05:52:54Busy fish market and restaurant impresses with tasty seafood staples. We tried SBFM a bit later for lunch on a weekday and it was deservedly busy. The shop itself is small with indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. Overall, I found the staff impressively attentive. The chowder and fish & Chips were both good. The prices are a little high but certainly in line with SB seafood. We will return to SBFM.

2023-10-16 18:31:11Excellent addition to the culinary landscape of western Goleta. The Ahi Poke Bowl was so fresh, savory, spicy and delicious. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The patio seating area was the perfect place to enjoy both the food and the SoCal weather.
