I was not too interested in having sushi next to Target but Im glad I did. I love this place. Ive been to a lot of sushi places. This one has great food and a huge menu with many options. The service has been phenomenal. Really looking forward to trying out all on the menu.

Really great food and service. Drinks were tasty and served not too cold. Food arrived super fast and the fish was very fresh. 10/10 you have to have the tempura shrimp appetizer. Great bogo half off deal everyday, lot of rolls to choose from. No wait time on a Thursday night. Parking was good. Great location close to the water and lots to do nearby. Good for a date night, not too fancy not too casual.

This sushi place is the bomb! The rolls are delicious and presented beautifully. Coming from Key West, Fl sushi to California sushi is a huge step up. The Golden Tiger Roll was my favorite. Spicy but not too spicy. We had hot sake and the Strawberry Sake. Gyoza was amazing. Overall I had a great visit and would go again.

Every week, my hubby and I go to Sapporo Sushi and not just because its close, but they are CONSISTENT with the quality of their sushi, and it ALWAYS tastes DELICIOUS!!! The service is great and so is the atmosphere! They have enough seating for a small, intimate dinner or happy hour with your friends!! Check them out!!

So I brought my family here on mothers day. What a great experience. The food was top notch but the service was absolutely perfect. John was our server and he was so intent to make sure everything went correct for my wifes big day. I am a huge stickler for excellent customer service so of coarse the tip and gratitude was great. I always research my restaurants before I chose to visit since we dont go out that much. I strongly advise everyone to try this sushi spot in long beach and try your best to get John as your server. You can’t make this up. This was supposed to be a salmon maki, sadly no Salmon in the salmon maki. In the last picture we compared the amount of salmon to a rice grain.

Pretty good sushi, would come back again. The yellow tail nigiri is good but the fatty yellow tail is even better. One thing that I didnt like about it is that they put a small dab of garlic paste on top it it which ruined the taste for me. I had to keep taking that off. The same thing happened for the salmon sushi except they put one piece of caper on it, had to remove that as well. But the fish was fresh and the price is about average for nigiri around $7 for 2 piece nigiri depending on what you get. They also take your phone number for discount for your next visit.

Good place to eat. Beware if you order the poke bowl at certain time theres an additional fee. Our waitress failed to tell us and it added $6 to our total. I would have ordered something else had I known that theres a $3 fee for each poke bowl. Food was good though. Not worth $14 for a poke bowl.

We ordered takeout here a lot during covid and they did an A+ job at not making it feel like we ordered takeout sushi. From the high quality disposable wooden chopsticks to all the condiments they included, they made you feel like you were getting your moneys worth. And if I remember correctly, they honored the buy one get one half off deal for takeout orders.The takeout food is still great, but the deal is only for dine in now.

I was student at CSULB and hqve seen this place a lot but I have never tried. I didnt think it is a good place, but recently my friend took me there. Maybe it was a best sushi place I had it. I had a spicy Edamama, and few baked sushis. BSCR, and Salmon Roll and shrimp tempura. I loved it and definitely I ll go back.

We have been looking for a good sushi restaurant and we finally found it! 😀We ordered the Sashimi B which came with three pieces of seven different varieties of sashimi so it’s 21 big pieces of sashimi and every piece tasted fresh.We also ordered Truffle Toro roll and that didn’t disappoint us. The rice was just enough to make us full and glad we didn’t order more.This review would have been a five star if not for the hot tea that cost $3.50 per person, a little steep for a cup of tea.We will come back for the good sashimi but will definitely avoid ordering tea! 😀

Update: Changed 4 stars to 1. Ordered california roll, shrimp roll, philadelphia and caterpillar - all where absolutely terrible. All rolls looked like 3 year old kid made it, rolls where falling apart and very small. California had a lot of mayo, asked to put more cream cheese in philadelphia what they did, but reduced amount of avacodo, waitress couldn’t tell me the ingredients of freshwater eel rolls, I’ve asked about 3 times. All she she said: “it’ll be what you read - eel!”, she forgot to mention seaweed, rice, cucumber, etc. Asked which rolls have eel also, she pointed to only one. I had to ask other server to help me. He showed me 3 other types of rolls with eel they have. Caterpillar roll with eel had no eel, but just chewy eel skin... Also eel roll should have eel sauce, which it had, but with absolutely not the taste it should have and was just super sweet. We had 2 persons in our company, they brought ginger and wasabi on one plate for 1 person only. Very disappointed and will never come back here again.Previous review (8 months ago):Nice place. Tasty sushi. 4 stars because I ordered rolls will Philadelphia cheese, but could hardly find it in the rolls.

Wow! This place ranks as one of the top two sushi restaurants Ive been to in California. This was a different sushi experience. The meal started out with a plate of Endame and a bowl of miso soup.The plating was incredible and the sushi was sprinkled with fresh micro-greens and edible flowers. The prices were excellent and on par for most sushi restaurants around the area even though there was a lot more effort in the final product.I had the Tropical Thunder roll which had Coconut Shrimp. It was awesome!The service was very fast and friendly. The atmosphere was upscale but comfortable. Definitely worth checking out.

I would absolutely eat here at any time of the day but their lunch specials are simply unbeatable. The bento box with two items is only $20 and it comes with a small salad, and your choice of items (I have the salmon roll and the shrimp crunch roll pictured), plus rice and miso soup! It’s definitely shareable.Furthermore, the quality of the fish is amazing and the staff is always so kind. This is my new favorite sushi spot in Long Beach!

They used to be the Best, now theyre too big for their britches. That used to give examples on the yablw when you sat down like some restaurants do with bread. Now, No. $5.25 and they looked wilted and some brown and dry. The Menu said certain meals were buy 1 get one free but if you go back a page it said buy 1 get 2nd meal 50% off so the Menu was lying. But the worst was the kitchen and then the service. The 3rd persons food came halfway through the meal time. The 2nd persons 2nd half of what they ordered didnt come til after the meal was over. My drink never came, My wifes bowl of rice never came and the Manager was off on a Sat. Nite so there was no recourse to talk to anyone and the arrogant servers jostled for who got to answer our problems. In the end nobody did. They just walked away.Never, never going back til they go out of business and open under new management.

Ive been coming here the last year and a half. The last few times they have forgotten either my order or my wifes. We went today around 5pm ordered a couple bento boxes and an appetizer. My food came out but my wifes was MIA, flagged down a waiter and apparently the kitchen forgot or lost my wifes order. Received her food nearly 40 minutes after I had. The worst part was that the food was cold as if it had been sitting for 40 minutes. Had to fight them to take off my wifes order since we had to leave and werent in the mood to eat cold food. One time is understandable since they were busy but there were 5 parties including us in the whole restaurant. Also the wait staff didnt come by to see if we were ok or needed anything. They have good good but need better customer service.

This is my first time coming to this location. I like sushi so I thought I would try it out. Is Sushi itself in the ingredients involved in the dish that I took poke. However the rice the brown rice that I took was gooey not flaky hard like you get when its at the very bottom of the pot was not very happy with that. If theyre going to include brown rice on their menu they they should pay more attention to it also so that does not become that way. Other than that sushi with vegetables with great.

We almost always love the sushi here. Its usually great. In fact, we used to go at least once a week. However, the place just isnt that clean. I have trouble getting over the issues I have eating sushi at a place whose bathrooms are less clean than a gas station. The prices seem to keep going up, little by little- but Im not seeing reflection in the overall atmosphere. Clean up your act guys, well be back.

It was first time my friend and i sat at the bar, and the chefs were all so nice and engaging especially, Sam who is funny and recommended some fish items that were absolutely delicious. Their rolls are pretty basic and mostly with spicy tuna yet still expensive for some reason.Although the individual employees always seem very nice, the overall customer service experience consistently sucks.So slow. Especially for to-go orders. Multiple times my order has been 15-30 minutes past the quoted time, and didn’t find out until I got there.The experience and their business perspective is encapsulated in things like these crazy policies posted up in multiple places stating they will only split a check in half. LOL great way to loose out in big parties. But more importantly, the POS can do splits, it’s not like it’s even more work. Just shows where their priorities are.There are lots of WAY better sushi places in Long Beach. 2 of them are both w/in two miles.

One of the biggest, if not thee biggest pet peeve I have is the lack of attention or care waiters/restaurants have for their customers. I sat at this place with my wife, starving, and no one cared to come and even get our drink order. After 20-25 minutes we stood up and left. Not the first time this happens. Very disappointing.

Great place to dine in horrible place to take out. Portions tiny compared to what you get when you sit down, food felt not fresh at all, like we were given the leftovers from weekend. Toro roll was regular tuna, not fatty tuna belly, 100% not worth the 21$. Fish in poke was not raw but seared, probably to cover disxoloration from oxidation. They switched from using real crab in rolls to using bland chead fake crab. Will just get there occasionally on Sundays after church from now on.

My favorite sushi spot in Long Beach! The house hot sake is delicious and is a great deal during happy hour. The best way to order is taking advantage of the $6.99 half rolls. That way, you can try more of the menu and still fill up. The waitstaff here are always working hard to give you the best experience possible. The sushi chefs are quick and talented. I always take out-of-towners here when they want to try the sushi in Long Beach. It never disappoints!

I usually LOVE their Salmon Teriyaki and Chicken Teriyaki, but this time was quite different. Too many bones in the Salmon, thats Never happened before!! The chicken was somewhat dry as well, I was rather disappointed, IF I had never been there before & enjoyed their food, I would probably Not go back. But....since Ive been there several times pre-COVID, and once for outdoor dining prior to this, I will give them another opportunity. As I enjoyed the food before, hopefully it was just a fluke this last time.

Okay, so this was my first time ever getting sushi.Little nervous of the unknown and what to expect...but went with two pros and I am now a fan!The Mexican roll was bombdiggity!!!! The BEST sushi spot in Long Beach! The sushi here is AMAZING. The fish comes in huge succulent pieces, and the sashimi is such huge slabs of fish. ALWAYS FRESH. I have never had a bad experience here. The waitresses are so fantastic, and they are all so friendly. The sushi chefs are very personable and remember you the next time you come. I eat here about 2-4 times a week. I live right down the street so it is so convenient. I have tries SO MANY DIFFERENT places, and this is by far the BEST SUSHI I have ever had. They are coming out with new rolls (told by the manager) and I just cant wait, since everything I have tried there I ADORE. The ONLY things I have to say negative about this place is 1. First time having lunch here with my sister and niece. We walked in and waited about 3 minutes for someone to attend us. I ordered the Red Spicy Ramen with the Spicy Tuna Roll. Ramen wasn’t spicy at all. I don’t know if my tastebuds are used to foods much spicier but this wasn’t spicy and was a little disappointed because I came here thinking I was gonna have some good ramen. Very nice find, its in a strip center however it a good sized place, when I was there around 2PM only a few visitors even though it can hold a lot if people . I had one of the bento boxes that had three entree choices and comes with miso soup, salad, rice...also they serve a bowl of edamame to munch on while you choose your meal. GREAT menu and some out of the ordinary choices. I recommend Sapporo Sushi to all I will certainly be going again.

While I havent been to a lot of sushi restaurants in Long Beach, after visiting Sapporo I certainly dont feel like I need to look for a new place anytime soon. The workers are super nice, fast and helpful. The food is amazing, and the complementary miso soup is a great starter! I occasionally have lunch here with some co-workers. It can get pretty busy during lunch time so be prepared to wait. They have very good lunch specials such as $10 bento boxes that come with two choices of sushi rolls or meat, salad and rice. There is complementary miso soup and edemame for people dining in. The manager is amazing. He is very attentive and will do his best to ensure all his customers are happy.

First time coming here, and it is now on my top 5 of sushi spots in socal. Attentive chefs, and attentive servers. They have a long list of nigiri and several rolls to choose from. Starting with a machine that puts the rice on the seaweed wrapper, the makarel sashimi served thick cut and completely plain (fishy taste)... No pink salt, no seasoning. The sashimi was served about a half inch thick, cut straight.Though we know Orange County sushi resteraunts (Ikko, Shunka) overall, my wife and I were looking for a good sushi restaurant in Long Beach, and this was not it.
