Sapporo Sushi & Steakhouse in Monterey

We sat in the regular dining area and enjoyed some great views of the harbor and awesome food. Everything was prepared + seasoned well and not one of our dishes was anything but good. Service was stellar, too. Wish we had a large enough group for hibachi, though. Sounded like a lot of fun on that side! Definitely happy we stopped in here ♨️

This place is an excellent spot to celebrate birthdays and special occasions. While the restaurant is nice and clean the chairs are a bit worn out. At least the one I sat on was wobbling which got me nervous about breaking. The food is fresh and made in front of you if you want teppanyaki grill.The soup served was very bland, Luke warm and below average. I would have loved to be served a Miso soup instead of chicken broth with some crispy panko flakes that went soggy with a very tasteless mushroom. The salad was fresh but the dressing was thousand island instead of toasted sesame.The prices are a bit high but not outrageous.We really enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

First time here.Excellent service, sat right away. Killer views of the bay. Clean. Clean dining and clean restrooms. Our waitress was very attentive and quick to respond.Im not a huuuuge fan of Tempura, but my wife is. It was excellent. Not small but not overly large. The tempura sauce was really nice, shrimp, sweet potato, onion, and green bean. I highly recommend it.We ordered the Sunset, Bam Bam, and the William. All were top-notch.The sunset with lemon slices and add a little ginger is fresh and good and what you want.The Bam-Bam had crazy good sauces.The best was the William, great spices, killer flavor.

I had a good experience at Sapporo Sushi and Steakhouse. Went down to celebrate a friend on her birthday and it was an all around hit with our group. The food was delicious, the hibachi show was entertaining, and the service was good.We started our meal with the gyozas and delicious sushi rolls, definitely recommend the giant roll. For my main course, I had the hibachi filet mignon and lobster, which was cooked perfectly and served with soup, salad, vegetables, and rice. The hibachi chef was entertaining and kept us laughing throughout the meal. The only knock here was that the lobster tasted like it was cooked in teriyaki sauce. Still delicious, but want to level set for the folks who like plain or garlic butter lobster.The cocktails were the only lowlight of the meal. They were a bit overpriced and not very good. However, the rest of the meal was so good that I didnt let the cocktails ruin my experience.Overall, I would highly recommend Sapporo Sushi and Steakhouse to anyone looking for a delicious and fun dining experience. The food is great, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable.* This is by no means a fancy dining out establishment. Food was good but nothing special. More importantly though, they have nice seats by the windows that give you a view of the waterfront. It was a great place to sit and chill for a bit, and just look out at the view. We even spotted an otter in the water!For food, we ordered the teriyaki chicken and the al bap (like bibimbap but with fish roe as the protein). The al bap was unique (first time Ive tried it/seen it on a menu), and there was a good variety of different types of roe.

Shushi, beer and a good partner to enjoy a wonderful afternoon ... - evening with an amazing food, so far this has to be the 5 out of 5 restaurant, hands down, and not to expensive the bill was $100.00 and I had 3 beers and the food was just great and thats from someone thats not a fan of Shushi, but I am a fan of Salporo for sure !! Definitely recommend!

We were just passing by and food was unexpectedly tasty.The special ‘Big Mouth’ roll only came in 5 and didn’t look anything special but OMG so tasty!!LOVED it.And also the assorted sashimi bowl, my all time favorite, was big enough for two.Definitely will visit again when im Monterey next time.

Heather service was top notch. Great food and big portions for the price with water view. Alot of fish for their Poke salad. We barely made a dent. Highly recommend for locals or tourists :)

We ate here on my birthday and it was delicious! They had some unique rolls on a large menu. Super fresh sushi, came out fast and has a really great view with oversized windows looking onto the harbor. Highly recommend.
