2023-05-20 23:12:44Food was very very good! The service, however, wasn’t great. I went with 3 friends during their happy hour and sat at a table. We tried to order from the happy hour menu and were told that happy hour is only at the bar(this is not stated anywhere in their marketing or at the location). We offered to move but were told not to worry, that we could get happy hour pricing from the table. I understand that this is special treatment and we appreciated that but didn’t appreciate how we were treated afterwards. We initially ordered just some house wine and appetizers from the happy hour menu. We are all in our mid 20s and look young so I think the waitress expected us not to order any more. After that, despite continually making eye contact and trying to indicate that we were ready for entrees, we were ignored for a very long time. The tables around us were all attended to but we were continually ignored even though we wanted to order more. When we were finally checked on we ordered another round of wine and 5 pastas, then a 3rd round of wine and 5 desserts! I hope the waitress realized that it was unfair of her to profile us for being young. I would have preferred to move to the bar rather than to have been ignored, and considering we offered to move I don’t think it was fair that we were treated unkindly.4 stars because I saw that there was potential for good service, if the waitress liked you.

2023-06-04 02:33:03I met a friend for Happier Hour at Sara the Wine Bar. This Italian restaurant does not disappoint the taste buds. Just thinking of the wine and menu items makes my mouth watery.

2023-05-31 19:20:34I strongly recommend Sara the Wine Bar on Sepulveda in Culver City for anyone who enjoys wine and Italian cuisine.I fell in love with the gluten free Polenta! Under the hot plates section and only $13, the home-style corn meal is on a bed of homemade bolognese sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese, which can be left off if you’re lactose intolerant. The service is top notch and they have a good amount of indoor seating, as well as a bar. To make a reservation, call during their business hours - they open at 5pm.Bottles of wine are 10% off, so our group shared 3 of the chilled red 2020 vintage of Domaine de Fenouillet Ventoux, Rhone, France, which went from $44 to $40. If you’re going with multiple people, I recommend saving and splitting a bottle.

2023-05-03 14:00:45A Culver City gem in the neighborhood that offers a cozy atmosphere with a homely feel. The bar provides its customers with a friendly environment in which they can relax and enjoy a serene ambiance over a glass of wine and some tasty bites. One thing that stands out about Sara the Wine Bar is the warm and welcoming atmosphere, supported by an incredibly friendly staff. Sara, the owner is a warm and welcoming host who provides a personal touch to every guest that walks through the door. The staff members are knowledgeable about wine and food pairings and their recommendations are spot-on.The real highlight of Sara the Wine Bar, however, is the incredible food. The dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and taste like a home-cooked meal. The pasta and pizza are particularly noteworthy, with each plate being a gastronomic delight that is hard to resist. In fact, the hardest part of eating at Sara the Wine Bar is deciding which dish to order and stopping at just one!In summary, Sara the Wine Bar is an inviting neighborhood spot that offers a warm and friendly ambiance with deliciously homely food. Its a perfect location for a casual dinner, a date night, or just a glass of wine after a long day at work. If youre looking for a laid-back evening experience with exceptional food and drink, be sure to pay a visit to Sara the Wine Bar.

2022-01-15 02:18:55Sara The Wine Bar & Restaurant has been sitting quietly on Sepulveda Blvd for many years going back to when Culver City was a good place to get a smog check but fine dining, no way! I found myself working nearby and went for lunch one day. One of the best salads ever. Four years later and I know the owner and the staff. Now that theyre open for dining inside again, my wife and I went for dinner recently and now that Google nudges me to write a review everywhere I go, I had to write about one of my favorite restaurants. The food is special as it tastes homemade with its own special qualities. Their salads are A+++. If you order a pasta with any of their sauces, ask for bread because youll want to wipe the bowl clean. Best of all is the prices are better than reasonable. The wine selection is very good and again, prices are moderate. Go, eat, drink, and enjoy.

2023-10-13 02:28:35Smaller than I expected, less pretentious too. Eminently reasonable prices, diverse variety of food selection, attentive wait staff. I didnt even have any wine, but had a great time. Definitely try it out. Dont try parking in their lot, though.

2023-08-28 18:30:45This is not just a place for Vino!Italian food... If you believe you know what its all about I challenge you to come here. From Bruschetta that is amazing (in which 98% of restaurants fail in making correctly) to the 2 dishes my mom & I shared lamb gnocchi, Sausage Cavatelli. One of the key points is when Sara herself made the rounds personally checking to see her patrons enjoying her own homemade recipes.Cozy, ambient atmosphere that is driven by laughter, vino and happy tummys.Definitely a establishment that will be visited again and again.

2023-10-15 02:32:47The server was really rude to us. The food was good but the behavior of the server made us leave after 2 dishes. The Margherita flatbread is a must try! (For reference: The server is a bald man)
