Saravanaa Bhavan in Fremont

Good food but not that quick service aptly define this particular Saravanaa Bhavan.Parking was easy to find with ample spots available in the parking lot right outside.We checked in as a group of 7 adults (with another one joining us towards the middle) with a kid as well (who was carrying his pizza box with him as he was craving it and wanted to eat it instead). We were seated in a table that had ample seating for all of us.Craving those delicious dosas we put in our orders with 3 onion chilli masala dosas, 1 mini ghee Idly order, 4 mango lassi, an onion rava masala dosa, another onion masala dosa, 1 masala dosa with an order of Idly (2 pieces) and to top it all 3 orders of Rava Kesari.The food tasted exceptionally great and the dosas were absolute fire (not spicy but amazing). Rava kesari definitely had the right blend of sweetness to it and we literally finished everything that was ordered to the point where there was no proof left behind in the served plates that contained the orders :).Coming to the service, it was definitely slow and as well we were promised that we would get a side of chilli which we had to remind them a few times before we got hold of them. As well, we were a group of 8 adults and all they put in on the table to drink from were 4 plastic cups which looked like a rookie mistake when it comes to working these tables.We as well ran into a bit of a situation whereby one of their staff members requested us to not consumer food brought form outside (we had brought in a small pizza box for the kid as he was craving pizza all day), though i must admit that they requested us with folded hands and in a very friendly tone which definitely gets them another half star (yelp doesnt believe in halves) for this amazing gesture.All in all a great food experience with some slow service though we can give this a try and hopefully this would get better next time around!!

Excellent experience here. My first ever meal at Saravanaa Bhavan.Let me start with how courteous and friendly the staff was. Suggested what to try and answered my queries nicely.Coming to food, we tried their Limited Thali with Puri. It was super delicious. I liked that they gave 2 papads instead of just one 😃 The assortment was good.Next we tried Rava Onion Dosa. It was evenly cooked and crispy. Liked the size and flavor of it.Then tried the Mini Ghee Idlis. Coin sized and served with sambhar chutney. I particularly liked the sambhar more than the chutneys. Very authentic taste.They have a good variety of fusion items that I am yet to try. Will be back for more.Edit: Visited again.Tried the fusion Sandwich Dosa. Its basically 2 uttapams with cheese and spices in between. Quite heavy, and needed some salt. Good to try once. Also tried Cheese Masala Dosa. Masala was a bit bland, but dosa was loaded with cheese and well cooked. Best was the Onion Tomato Chilli Uttapam. I think they purposely keep the salt level low so that you can adjust later.Also, I was a little disappointed because mini thali, regular thali and all speciality dosas were unavailable at brunch time after 11 am. They were only serving regular dosas, idli and vada. I had specially driven from 40 mins away to try speciality dosas.Check out my Instagram food page @veggie_central for more!

Used to be my go to place for vegetarian food but due to high price I visit once in 1-3 month. Good quality is good but used to be awesome. Still a good place to try it out.

One of the best Bay Area Indian breakfast place to rely for quality food. Almost every item we ordered was amazing and fresh. Although, the coconut chutneys were super bland and passable.1. They don’t take reservations on any online platform or calling in.

We tried Special meals, Executive meals and Mini Idli’s. Everything was very delicious as usual.For full meals Saravanaa Bhavan is always best.

This place reminds me home every time I visit. Excellent food and friendly service. Thanks for the homely experience. I wish they open a branch soon in Arizona.

Have been here for years but rare visits and every visit reminds me of how service has just not changed and food is still not in par with their India branches.1. Food - doesn’t taste like any good South Indian. So if you need good South Indian, try ID or dosa hut.2. Service - when you have more than 2 ppl, each person will get their food at different times with long waits in between so forget about eating together. There’s also stock shortage on most items.3. Atmosphere - this is the only good thing here as most other South Indian places in the area don’t have a sit down and be served option.

Having been to many vegetarian Indian restaurants in continental usa, this was probably the best one yet in terms of food quality, taste, service, location and ambiance. A must go vegetarian restaurant!

What can I say about this gem 💎. Iv been to a lot of SBs across globe and I had to wait in line for ever... this place has all good parts... no rush or lines. Its located in a very good location with tons of shopping around and good parking. Its a vegetarian delight...heaven to south Indian foodies. Any dish will remind you of incredible india... just head there with your family and you will love it. Food is amazing. People are very friendly especially the female waitress we had was sooo funny and welcoming. Loved this place.
