I cannot stress enough how NEAR-PERFECT this place is. The only things keeping it from an 11/10 review are the two non-vegan menu items. Other than that, the menu, the staff, the design and atmosphere, and the FOOD!!!!—absolutely incredible. If you’re in SB, you NEED to eat here. (Photos by Kaitlyn Volpe.)

Great food and playlist. One of the most memorable food experiences in my life. Definitely in my top 5. As a person who does not eat vegetarian food often, I love trying different vegetarian food restaurants to contrast it to my daily routine food selection. Often vegetarian resultants are amazing. However Satellite SB is above abs beyond. The music, the vibe, the aesthetic, and importantly the good are the next level. 20230110

The yoga pants salad is amazing! We’ve eaten there and ‘people-watched’ with warm blankets on our laps (compliments of the restaurant ) as well as ordered ‘to go’. Service is always friendly and welcoming, and the ‘vibe’ is cozy. Great place to bring out-of-town guests to experience the unique artistry of SB cuisine.

Yummy vegetarian spot right on State Street. Loved the vibe and outdoor seating. Was in a rush and came for lunch so just had a salad and a grilled cheese (and a spritz, of course!) but both were really good. Looking forward to coming back and trying out more menu items!

Totally genuine, funky spot on State Street. Satellite is distinct and punchy- seems like everything they serve has style and flavor. Refreshing and fun. Portions tend to be small and prices tend to be high, but this is a great spot for some light eats and bold wines.

Outstanding food and wine. Many amazing Vegan options on their menu We ended up eating here twice during our stay in SB. Loved the laid back but moody ambiance for dinner and the outdoor patio for an afternoon sip. An incredibly talented Chef and Som combination. You can tell how fresh the farmers market ingredients are in every single dish. Also loved that I could feel good about the sipping on the incredibly delish organic and natural wine, some of which we were told can only be found here in all of the US. Looking forward to ordering some from their website when I return home. Will definitely be a SB staple for us!

Really unique place- love the atmosphere, food options and veg/vegan setup! unique items that taste nice and easy to share. The cake size was huge! I want to especially thank Employee Ana for her kindness, care, and attention. I hope management can recognize her in some way. :) I came back to try lunch the next day. No matter where you stand on natural wine, it is guaranteed you will feel better after visiting Satellite (if not due to lack of sulfites, then based simply off an enjoyable, galactic atmosphere).This tastefully space-themed natural wine bar prides itself on a highly curated wine list and farm-to-table bites. I recently visited Satellite in Santa Barbara and had a great time at this unique wine bar! The space-themed concept is really fun and sets it apart from other wine bars in the area.The staff at Satellite is friendly and knowledgeable about the wines on offer, and I appreciated their recommendations.What I enjoyed most about Satellite was the cozy and relaxed atmosphere. I’m not vegan and really enjoyed this spot. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. You order at the counter and pick a table inside or outside. They have a nice outdoor area directly on State with heaters. Wine list is great and the food layered with flavor and delicious. I’m not vegan but I certainly appreciated this nutritious stop.

Place is so accomadating! I called to see if this spot was pooch friendly, because I had a pup with me that didnt allow me to leave at my place of rent, so I gave them a call and immediately said they are dog friendly with doggy bowls to give a bit of H2O if you got a long walk ahead of you. Not only dog friendly, but the place has great vegan options and an optimal selection of wine. They made some bomb salads too, because they hand pick the greens from their very own street farmers market. I will be coming back to this place in the near future.

Really love this place. Really nice location in front of the Kiva co working space. Centrally located on state st. Theres also a dune coffee a few doors down. I popped in for a couple glasses of wine. Nice pours! I think they have a great wine list. The owner is meticulous with his choices! Definitely going to go back next time im around there. We recently had our wedding reception outside in the Kiva coworking space behind the restaurant and we are still dreaming about our night! From beginning to end, the team at Satellite helped us coordinate our entire reception with patience, flexibility, and major accommodation. Emma and the team are true gems and played a huge role in helping us execute everything from the decor to the cake cutting and much more. Dropped in from out of town. My girlfriend and I are vegan and gluten free so not always a ton of choices. So lucky to have found satellite. They were so accommodating and understanding, with tons of vegan and gluten free choices. Everything was amazing, food was fresh, colourful and delicious. Service was on point; fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Cant recommend this place enough and will come here whenever we are in town!

Lots of vegan options. The zita toast is delicious and I might get this next time, but I would certainly get it again!The polenta was ok.Rosé was delicious.All their wines are natural. Kind of pricy food and drink for SB but the vegan food is worth it IMO. Not a wine connoisseur so I can’t say the upcharge for natural wine is worth itTheir most up-to-date are on their website. Apparently this week is the last week they’ll close at 5pm, starting next week they’re back to their 8pm hours.

I can never find places that are veggie like me!The menu was so interesting and quirky, but the Dukkahlings I ordered where suprisingly delicious. I wouldve never guessed that combination of foods, but I could eat 50 of them lol. The bartender/waiter was super friendly, he knew the story behind the glass of riesling I ordered. And the woman who brought out my food was super nice too! The the decor is gorgeous!!! 😍Im going to recommend this place to everyone, itll be my new date night spot when Im in town!

We visited tonight for a drink before dinner elsewhere, I asked for a glass of any red wine, I didn’t specify any in particular, implying house. I was charged $20 for one small glass of red wine. A bottle of which is available to buy within the restaurant for $40. (Or online for $23). We are from England it was very apparent the man serving us took advantage of us not being local and has massively overcharged us. Pretentious, no atmosphere, rip off. Poor.

This is our new favorite restaurant. The chef here skilled to cook true vegan/plant based meals: layering of flavors and textures to make something better than cooked meats. I rarely am pleased with dining in Santa Barbara. Everything tastes the same: salt, fat, sweet…few creative plant based options. Here I am surprised and delighted each time. And the visual is stunning with sprinkles of edible flowers painted into the food. They also offer vegetarian options, grilled cheese sandwich, etc. I’m not likely to try those, but they look yummy. Bravo Satellite. We plan to be regulars for a long time.

I’m visiting my brother here and wanted to order in something from a restaurant he had not tried - he’s a vegan.The food not only was GORGEOUS but they wrapped and wrote on the boxes with care. I live & dine out alot in Santa Barbara CA. This was my 1st time eatting at the Satellite after being highly recommended by other dining friends of the fresh excellent food being served here. So I brought another vegetarian friend along to give it a go. WOW were we VERY HAPPY with the fresh quality tasty food served here...very yummy! We split veggie mix with mushrooms tacos. A phenomenal salad & my favorite a toast sandwich. Plus dont miss out on grannys warm brownie! Turns out the chef recently had just won best vegetarian chef in a local contest for Santa Barbara & I concur she richly deserves the acknowledgement. Our server Nick was informative & helpful with our choosing our 1st meal there. We also meet the owner Drew & complimented him on the tasty excellent meal we had just eaten So yes I highly recommend the food & service to all who want a quality tasty meal. The only thing I would also let you know is that inside it can get noisy due to the hard surface walls...thus hard to hear your conversations. I then recommend sitting in the outside tables or in the window seats. Yet again I am definitely recommending my dinning out friends to the place: Satellite SB

Yum. Such a wonderful place. Welcoming and relaxed but chic and hip. The service is excellent and the farmer’s market fresh food is so full of flavor and quality, leaving nothing more desired. Even if you are not vegan, you will absolutely love this food. The wines are thoughtfully selected for fresh, natural, authentic qualities coming from small vineyards and winemakers who care about natural winemaking and biodynamic principles. I tasted new and delicious sips that were totally surprising to me and refreshingly delicious and wonderful. Drew was so kind as to pair drinks with our food along the way and let us sample from the diverse hand selected wines, telling stories and giving vivid details about the worlds of vineyards, farms, and dining adventures with a bright contagious smile. I could call this place my second home! Im always welcomed with warm hellos. The endearing staff consists of wonderful individuals who are knowledgeable about the wine selection. The wine selection comprises of over-the-sea and local wines. Satellite also offers appetizing dishes. The ingredients are mostly procured from the local farmers market. How great is that! The restaurant and bar have an intimate atmosphere. A relaxing place to do work during the day and great for first-time dates in the evening. (:In regards to the two-star review, the review is biased. The patron offered to buy a drink that I subsequently accepted and complied to chat with. He made an unwanted elicitation, which established uncomfortable advances.I appreciate Drew, the owner, dealing with the ill-mannered customer on my behave. We had been members of several well-known wineries for years. But Satellite is the game changer. It has really enabled us to taste truly fine wine from all over the world instead of limited selections from our wine clubs. All the bottles are handpicked by extremely knowledgable wine expert Drew. They are all biodynamic, complex and certainly tasty.Drew has become our personal sommelier. He always helps us select wine for all kinds of food pairing and occasions.The food and the atmosphere at Satellite are excellent as well. Had an awesome evening here with my girlfriend over my birthday weekend. The mid-century space race theme was incredible, and the wines are excellent. The focus is on natural wine, and the food menu is used ingredients from local farmers’ markets. My bottle of Piedrasassi skin-contact Sauv Blanc was awesome. Drew, the owner, hung out with us for a while and talked shop. The staff and bar had a great vibe, and you can tell that it comes from the leadership.

The staff here was very kind and the ambiance was nice. However, we left disappointed with our food choices. We did not opt for any wine or other drinks which, we realize, is something Satellite does well.Confit tomatoes with bread: enjoyable but we expected the tomatoes to be cooked down more, perhaps with some additional seasoning. They were kept plain, perhaps to highlight their raw flavor, which was good but not memorable.Hot raclette: this cheesy skillet was tasty but overwhelmingly fennel flavored. The fingerling potatoes and broccolini were present, but charred to the point of overdone.Best friend sandwich: tasty, lime-y sandwich with bread that was a bit too crunchy for its contents. This also had fennel but it was better balanced with other ingredients.Shishito peppers and shiitake with cheese: We found the peppers to be slightly over cooked, so they came out a little limp, but they paired nicely with the mushrooms. The spicy cheese sauce was nice, a good level of heat, but didn’t necessarily add to the peppers and mushrooms.

I visited to buy a new satellite but found myself drinking wine and eating food instead, sometimes when you get a satellite here you can also listen to live music at satellite sb. Sometimes its satellite SB I feel like the radio waves are stronger because of the satellites.They have small satellites, medium size satellites and large satellites if youre looking to buy a satellite definitely give them a call. WE LOVE SATELLITE. Not only is it a fantastic (and gorgeous) little bar for spritzes, natural wine, and plant-based food, but they also offer sourcing/buying with huge case markdowns for events. We used them for our wedding in Santa Barbara earlier this year and their owner, Drew, helped us come up with a unique and in-budget line-up of wines from small producers all over the world (and SB too!).
