Sawa Sushi in La Quinta

I found my food delicious! I ordered the manhattan roll which was deliciously savory and creamy without feeling heavy. My guest ordered the albacore lover roll which had too much wasabi (we could not pick it out because each ingredient was tossed in the wasabi), so we had to order a side of steamed rice to tone down the level of spice.The service wasn’t the best. Our server was scrolling on her phone so we had to get up and walk to the other side of the restaurant whenever we needed something.

Excellent sushi place and sweet people working there! Love the albacore sashimi, American Dream, or Jalepeno Deluxe with a plum wine! 🍷

Good sushi, good sizes, very yummy. But the only reason why Im not giving them 5 stars is because their take away containers are not reusable, nor recyclable. With those sushi prices they should invest in something a bit more environmentally friendly. I had to go get my own Tupperware because their white styrofoam is just unnecessary packaging that goes in the garbage. I hope they take a step towards kindness there :)

Wow! Super super fresh ingredients. Small, friendly and delicious sushi restaurant. The boat was filled with simple but perfectly well done sushi. All the sashimi was fresh and perfectly cut. We arrived late, we were the only ones there, the sushi chef prepared the boat in 10 minutes. Sake was delicious. Service was friendly. Price was right.

The seaweed salad was so fresh! I loved it. The sushi was great! If I ever come back I’m going here again.

I love this little restaurant. Consistently good food, great service and an authentic menu that always makes you want to come back for more. Sushi is perfectly rolled. Never too much rice and the special rolls are amazing. Varied menu that is always fresh. Love the cucumber salad!

I tried their dragon roll and I thought it was good. But I was disappointed with their spicy tuna since it was not spicy and had no flavor. Their Mexican roll is good but I thought overall I thought everything expensive considering the portions. And service is alright. Not sure if I would come again.

Rolls were well prepared and presented. Decent portion sizes were fresh and flavorful. The salmon nigiri was something special this day...truly melt in your mouth goodness. Do try the Orange Naruto Roll (no rice). Fresh and a great roll to start off the rest.

The best little hidden gem in La Quinta! Joyce the manager helped place an order for a Sushi Boat for my Mom’s memorial! Great Sushi and great customer service! Thank you Sawa!

The food is good. Unfortunately, the service was not. We had to ask three time for our drinks, then she only brought us water and not what we ordered. However, when the bill came, the drinks were on it. At one point, she brought us a dish that was meant for a different table. After a few minutes, she picked up the dish and took it to the person who ordered it. The restaurant did not appear very crowded, yet the server seemed very frazzled. We will not be returning.
