Loved this place and their service was superb. We went there to celebrate a milestone birthday. We sat outside with our dog under the warm Sausalito sun and by the ocean. The wines were good. I loved the clam chowder soup and I had the Cashew Cod,while my husband had the Halibut. Both dishes were delicious and well presented. We ended with a Tres Leches and a bag full of lovely memories at this classic Sausalito institution. We are definitely going back.

First time here. Visiting from GA. The hostess, I dont know her name but she was Asian decent, was not too friendly. Our server Gladys was very knowledgeable on the menu which is always a plus for eating at now spots. She made some wonderful recommendations. Great service. I had curried cod on a bed of rice. I was not too unimpressed. Not flavorful and was overall very dry. It needed some gravy. My counterparts commented it was ok. Overall 3 stars because of the server. Would I recommend? Probably not.

Excellent food and service. The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh, high-qualify vegetables and seafood made all of the entrees great. Would definitely come back.

Visited this past Saturday for our anniversary. Although we walked in, we were able to sit at the bar and have a drink and appetizer until our table was ready. The bar staff was very pleasant and helpful.After getting our table, our server Saul took excellent care of us. He answered our questions and made a few terrific recommendations. My wife had the petrale sole dore, and I had the curry crusted ling cod with mildly-spiced Jasmine rice. Saul was very attentive yet not overbearing.The entire experience was perfect. We look forward to returning soon.

I am a big fan of Scomas restaurants, both in Sausalito and San Francisco. We recently visited the Sausalito location after a morning hike. We started with the Arugula Peach Salad, which was fresh and flavorful. The Steamed Clams were juicy and tender, and the Swordfish was perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed the stunning views of the San Francisco skyline and Tiburon Island from the table.I would definitely recommend it to others. You can park your car in one of the nearby parking lots or on the street. It is $5-$6 an hour. Enjoy!

Doesnt get any better than this, the view, food and the service all exceptional! When in San Francisco take the ferry and have a wonderful lunch or dinner. The Halibut and Scallops are out of this world. Scrimshaw Pilsner went well with the seafood.

Food was really good, everything was well cooked. The salmon had a crunchy layer on the outside, and was warm and well cooked on the inside. Tye sauce for the salmon was such a great combo, it was sweet and it just went well with the texture. The cioppino was amazing, a wide range of seafood included, such as octopus, crab, shrimp, mussels, clams, fish, and tomato broth. The ribs and overall seafood were fabulous as well. Service was good, 100% recommended!!

We really enjoy eating at this Scomas. Its a smaller restaurant with great views of the bay and The City. The food was really good and the service excellent. We had the roasted artichoke, sesame ahi tuna and lobster risotto 🦞 and for dessert the Pana cotta.

First of all, make a reservation. This place is smaller than it looks from the outside. The bar area occupies nearly half of the building. Now that youve done that, you will not be disappointed.From start to finish, we had an excellent experience here. The place was jumping, yet we were seated immediately at our reservation time. A nice spacious table for the two of us that provided views of the bay.We started with a half dozen oysters. Nothing much to say about here. Theyre oysters. Fresh and delicious.My wife ordered the Peach Arugula Salad and paired it with the Prosciutto & Melen. Both were very well balanced, and the prosciutto along with the table bread were the perfect compliment to the acidity of the vinaigrettes.I ordered the Grilled Striped Sea Bass off the chefs menu. This one was a showstopper. Hands down the best seafood dish Ive ever had. Yes, its really that good!!! All of the ingredients and seasoning were perfect. My wife probably got annoyed because I literally didnt shut up about how good it was for the rest of the night. I really, REALLY hope this becomes a permanent item because Im still dreaming of having it again.What really seals the deal is the overall value of dining here. The quality of food and excellent customer service makes this place a real winner in a town thats filled with fancy restaurants. Appetizers, entrees, cocktails, and post dinner espressos came to about $130. If you had to pick one restaurant during your visit to Sausalito, make it this one. We will be back!

This restaurant in Sausalito is so cute and right on the water. We had a table in the back of the restaurant with a lovely view of the water and San Francisco skyline. The food was really good too. I really enjoyed the nicoise salad with seared ahi tuna and the spicy margarita.

Idk. Its what youd expect. Its right in the water, it seems to attract regulars. Kinda old school. The main dish I had looked pretty but tasted totally bland. The salad didnt have the freshest fruit. For the price Id expect better, but you are really paying to eat on the water.

Perfect spot on the water for lunch. Scomas has arguably the best clam chowder, ever. And I got the crab/shrimp louie salad. We shared the calamari appetizer and the shrimp gambas are also a great choice. The sole is always cooked to perfection too...you cant go wrong at this spot.

The pear and arugula salad was refreshing and delicious. The braised short ribs were very tender and tasty and the mashed potatoes were so creamy. You could cut the ribs with a fork, no knife necessary. The portions were big enough that we could share and I was still full. It is a bit pricey, but I look forward to eating here again.

Great decor & vibes but a bit overpriced for the food quality.We ordered two types of oyster, one of them was nice.My tuna main was just alright.. out of five pieces one of it was the end of the fish, another one was not cut properly and a bit thin. Taste was its ok, fresh enough to eat it raw but I had better tuna in the past.Lobster risotto was good.

It was my friends and my first time dining at Scomas. A friend of mine were supposed to dine here together, but curiosity got the best of me..., so luckily a friend of mine was agreeable to go with me... and BOY!!! was it worth it!!! We barely had to wait for our table. Our server was attentive enough to make sure that our dining experience was great!!! The food was better than we were expecting. I definitely wouldnt to come again.

Unbelievably fresh and delicious. I had the halibut with orzo primavera and pea shoot salad. Hubby had the cioppino. Both were dynamite. We shared 12 oysters and they tasted like they were plucked from the ocean moments ago. Service was quick and friendly.

The food is on the pricey side and it is expected in a touristy area. The portion size is fair. I asked for a medium rare steak but it was more of a medium well in my opinion. The waiter did come back to ask how things were and i was too hungry to ask for a change. So it is not on them but on me for not giving them a chance to rectify the problem. The pasta is nice with alot of clams as seen on picture. The calamari is a bit generic. The view is fantastic.

We had an excellent lunch at Scomas! We didn’t have a reservation, but got a table outside right away. The service was fantastic and we couldn’t speak more highly of the food.We started with the crab cakes, then had the sole entree, clam chowder and brussel sprout salad. Very good ambiance with beautiful views. Drinks were great and staff was friendly. Lobster was very good and the short rib was phenomenal. Finish off your meal with a shot of espresso over vanilla gelato as well, can’t miss. Only hold back was the kitchen took a while to get everything to us.

I am not one to write reviews (this is my first) but this restaurant deserves it.First, the atmosphere is perfect right on the water. It is not too upscale that it feels stuffy, but also not too casual either. A perfect mix.Second, the food was fantastic. I had the Shrimp Louie salad. It was a big portion, not just round but high. It was full of shrimp (they certainly did not skimp out), and the taste was just perfect.Third, service, best service I have ever had. Maria, the waitress, was authentic in her wanting to ensure we were enjoying our meal. She treated us like we were the only people in the restaurant (and the restaurant was packed with people).The server and the other wait staff was proactively on top of everything as well.If I could give a 20 score on service I would.

Beautiful presentation. Calamari was a pleasure, tender and not over fried. We had the chowder which as high quality, and the clams had to be fresh. They are known for their quality and it was worth the price paid. I like the bowl, he likes the bread bowl. Both of us were entirely satisfied.

We had a table of 10 for lunch on a weekday at Scoma’s of Sausalito and were very pleased with the experience.The setting over the water on the bay is gorgeous. As expected, they had outstanding seafood options on the menu, as well as traditional dishes, vegetarian options, salads, and sandwiches. Everyone in our party was happy with the quality of their meals, and portion sizes were ample. I had the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, which was amazing and very highly recommended. The wine list was fairly priced, and they had a few good local craft beer options (although only two draft options, which were both good!).Food service was relatively quick and pleasant. If you have the opportunity, try to get a reservation for dining on the deck. The views are spectacular, and they have outdoor space heaters.Check it out if you’re in Sausalito!

Location is good, we were able to park nearby. It has a charm of a sort of island seafood restaurant. View of fishermen in their boats and their catch and San Francisco or Golden Gate Bridge depending on where you were seated. Definitely make a reservation.This is where I usually take my visitors whenever they are in town. We had various orders over the years but this one was the most recent. The crab is always the reason I come here for. Their salads good too.

It was nice sitting outdoors but our seats were a tad chilly. We were also kinda sitting almost by the roadside. Service was really prompt though we were the last table, I really appreciated that. Food at Scomas is indeed as good as reviews say it is, though we felt that the oysters were a little over priced.

This is probably one of the best places for seafood. My friends and I made reservation and was seated outdoor.I ordered a bowl of clam chowder as appetizer and king salmon for entrée. Clam chowder was delicious and flavorful; the king salmon is to die for. I rarely eat the skin of the salmon because it tastes fishy and unpleasant. However, the king salmon here has crispy skin and was so flavorful. The whole dish is not overly fishy and the hint of citrus definitely awaken my appetite.We ended the meal with dessert and I ordered seven layer cake. It is great but I will walk around the area and get dessert such as ice cream elsewhere. Overall, it is a great experience and I would definitely be back whenever I visit Sausalito again.

Lovely spot right on the ocean in Sausalito.Classic fare, reasonably well done. Had the calamari fitti it was beautiful. Had fries with it which were fine. Bread was a bit dry though. Also a word to any UK visitors,a prawn cocktail does not mean the same thing in the US, so be warned.Service was both professional and warm.Would come again

Service and food were really perfect. Clam chowder was superb and had a LOT clams. Calamari was fresh and super tender. More calamari than batter. Seafood linguini with clams and shrimp was superb. Shrimp was perfectly cooked and seperated from the tail clean with minimal effort. Clams were full and meaty, not dehydrated. And the Dungeness crab stole the show. I have had these numerous times and almost always they are poorly seasoned (bland) and almost always overcooked and stuck to the shell. Here they were so flavorful, full of meat, and perfectly seperated from the shell. Shell was firm and crisp and cracked easy. Really they did everything right.Service was top notch. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience at Scomas in Sausalito!My server Zulma was extremely friendly and attentive. Even while managing many other tables, she frequently stopped by to check in and ask if I needed anything. The bussers were also spot on with clearing empty dishes and glassware.Food was exceptional. Smaller portions but more than enough food with an appetizer, entree and dessert. Their calamari was delicious and reminded me of some of my favorite local spots back home in NYC. The Lobster risotto was also excellent, creamy, balanced and not over salted or seasoned.The pomegranate margarita was just ok, so I ordered my favorite cocktail for my second drink; a mezcal paper plane. It was great. Dessert was the best part of the meal and is not to be missed for sure.Huge thanks to Zulma for the exceptional hospitality, and to Mark for checking in on my experience and telling me a little more about the history of Scomas and Sausalito. Ate at Scomas yesterday with Sis and husbands and had a fabulous experience. The bartenders made the best Ramos Fizz and were so friendly. The Mgr came to tell us our table was almost ready, who gave us a table with a view. The food was good. Had the Linguine with prawns and muscles.Our food server treated us to a lemoncello liquor .We usually eat at Scomas in SF but decided to try Sausalito, and we definatly be back.

Beautiful fine dining seafood restaurant! Lovely atmosphere and great seafood. Service is also very good, all staff were very welcoming and attentive. We didn’t had a chance to make reservation, coz we where driving by, however the host was kind enough to give us very charming table with amazing view. We were expecting to have a delicious meal with the rating and the price but we left a little disappointed. The clam chowder soup was good but they didn’t have a bread bowl which is the main reason we went there and was on the menu. The lobster risotto which is the most popular item on the menu was sour and acidic and we didn’t finish it. The linguini con vongole was extremely acidic and not very good. Overall after spending $120 we were very not very satisfied.

Oysters Sausalito (baked oysters) and Lazy Cioppino are also really great.The weather in Sausalito is a little cold because of the sea breeze. Ok, you pay for the location I’ll let that account for the price vs quality of the cocktails we received, but the service was inconsiderate. Our fault for not making sure before ordering and paying, but with no tables left inside we were told we could sit on chairs out on the front balcony. This turned out to be a weird thoroughfare for employees and there were definitely no chairs for three people to sit. $60 for drinks on the ground, they shouldn’t have served us.

We came here for 4th of July dinner and the view is magnificent! It’s a bit expensive but IMO this place is certainly worth it. We ordered clam chowder in a bread bowl and it was very thick and flavorful. The bread bowl was also bigger than I’m used to so this will make you full by itself. For the main course, we ordered Lobster Risotto and Wild King Salmon Marocchino. The lobster risotto was good, they weren’t stingy and on the lobster pieces and the portion as just enough. The King Salmon Marocchino was my favorite! I’ve no idea how they made the spices and the couscous but it sure was different and was full of flavor and very delicious. The staff were very professional and friendly. You won’t regret coming to this place and would highly recommend it.

Very crowded, but I was able to seat quickly as I didn’t need to be in the room closest to the water. I ordered a dozen oysters, which were all still attached to the shell. I needed a knife to cut the meat, as I only had the butter knife as a utensil. I was given a steak knife. When I asked my server Ramon about it, he told me that that was how Scoma’s always prepares oysters. There is a bar with a single bartender and there are only 4 or 5 seats at the bar. I had aperol spritz and had no high hopes it would be as good as the ones i had previously in Italy but to my suprise it was amazing. We ate our food which was delicious and we cant wait to return. The relaxed professionalism of the staff was refreshing. If your wanting great views, great drinks and simply delicious food Scomas is the place to go.

We drove over from SF to Sausalito just to eat at this restaurant. Several bloggers recommended this place. It was extremely delicious and our food was very flavorful. The hubs and I shared the Hanger Steak and Canadian cold water Lobster tail. They split it for us in the kitchen and as you can see on the plate, it was still a very generous portion. What a lovely meal we had tonight at Scoma’s. We started with fancy cocktails, then shared some very fresh oysters. I had chowder ( very, very good), and my daughter ordered shrimp cocktail. We shared a bottle of white wine from Sardinia, which was delicious. Our mains were mahi mahi and lobster risotto and we ended the night with the hazelnut chocolate cake. Our waiter was superb, we were not pressured or rushed yet he was there whenever we needed anything. This was the nicest meal I have had this year and I highly recommend Scoma’s. And did I mention the fantastic view?!

Fantastic experience!! Made a late reservation for a large group and pretty sure they stayed open late to accommodate us. The service was spectacular and the food was exceptional. They selected some great starters that we all shared. Even for a large group, all the entrees were delivered at the same time and were the perfect temperature-I hate cold food. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect celebration and the staff at Scomas helped make it happen. It has always been a favorite of mine-took my wife there for our 6 month anniversary and we have been married now for over 4O years. Looking for a great dining experience in Sausalito-Scomas is your place!

This place is all about the view, the food is OK but nothing special for the area. Being there in cold weather also wasnt great, it was slightly chilly, not to bad, but a bit to uncomfortable for me while having a nice dinner. Parking can probably be a bit of an issue, but since we went relatively late on a week day, we found street parking nearby.

Seafood restaurant right on the water. Wed had a particularly bad day and the hostess gave us the best table to brighten our spirits. Service was excellent and the food was very good. You cant beat the view. Would definitely return if were in the area again.

Its ok but not sure its warranting the price charged. Things are a lot more competitive post COVID - even I could make a half decent risotto, so when I pay that much for it I would expect it to be better. Also not much lobster in the risotto for the price.

Bear in mind, this place is intended for visitors who want to eat on the water with views of the city. It isnt for foodies looking for a new experience, or for people looking to grab a cheap burger.The food was good; we had oysters, shrimp, beets, and chowder for appetizers and scallops, shrimp and fish for entrees. All were appropriately cooked and competently served. We never felt rushed, so in all the experience was good-not-great.
