Positive: Nice property, lovely grounds, rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was wonderful, very efficient and accommodating. We arrived early and were able to check in. Very comfortable and relaxing. Nice quiet neighborhood, short drive to attractions.
Positive: It was beautiful & close to the beach. The pool & restaurant on site were great too. Nice big clean rooms Negative: We had connection issues. Couldn¿t use Netflix & the wifi had issues sometimes. They did send a tech over but he couldn¿t resolve it.
This used to be a great little place for the family. Now they nickel and dime you for everything, including $10 to park outside in their lot, which is just a motel lot. Purchased 2 breakfasts with my reservation, then was charged for one on check-out. Front desk refused to change it, claiming they couldnt change it from here. I got the restaurant manager to fix it, then he had the front desk...yes...change it, which they were clearly able to do. So they attempted to short change me then lied about their ability to correct the error. Ridiculous. Shame, used to be a nice place to stay. Still a nice property and location, and the coi pond is great, but unfortunately we wont be back. Wed been coming here for over a decade with the kids for a weekend in SC.
This place is extremely overpriced for what you get. The rooms are tiny and not clean. The hallway carpets smell like beer and urine. But the worst part of the experience was the attitude and complete lack of professionalism from the hotel staff. Specifically the “supervisor” who was on staff during Labor Day Weekend. He was terribly rude and lied to us about about many things that we ended up getting charged for. The overpriced breakfast at the hotel had barely anyone being serviced, while the staff claimed it would be a 25 minute wait to be seated because they were “overwhelmed”. For $500/night you would think they could handle a basic breakfast service. Definitely stay away!
Positive: The pool was nice and I parked close to my room which is a plus while working. Negative: I ordered fish and chips at the restaurant and there was a human hair in the fish. The manager was not nice and all they offered was to comp the meal! they expect you to pay for food with hair in it? I only ate a few bites of it.. dont eat the food!
Compact fridge/freezer, was turned up all the way, but did not keep items cold. Freezer was not defrosted of ice and was cruddy looking. Toilet seat, one side screw was broken. Tub stopper did not screw into its place, broken. No microwave, no room phone. Neighbors to one side were loud when out talking on patio.
Infuriating waste of time!Impossible to talk to anyone. I am trying to book a room as part of a large group and just need to talk to someone in the hotel that I want to stay at. The ONLY number that is listed anywhere for this place is Hiltons main number in India and you have to listen to a 20-minutes sales pitch and give them ALL of your contact info before they will even pretend to help you with anything else. Looks like I will be finding another place to stay.
Very comfortable, by ocean and coast. Extremely extravagant worth ten times the charge. Especially warm and cozy than anywhere.

Short get away, great location. Pet Friendly! We loved our room garden view room with balcony. Staff was great and we enjoyed the convenience of breakfast at Sevys Bar & Kitchen. Near Capitola and Santa Cruz, but we chose to experience Aptos,Ca. Love the Forest of Nisene Marks and the beautiful beach. Enjoyed a great dinner at Manuels Mexican restaurant, loved the tamales and sangria. Aptos St. BBQ sooo good and Bettys Burger delish! Look forward to our next visit.
Positive: This is one of my favorites in Santa Cruz area. Like the Happy Hour at onsite restaurant. Negative: Would like a microwave in room. (They do have mini-frige.) Wish they heated pool to a warmer temp.
GOT THE BAIT AND SWITCH.Yikes. Booked a king suite deluxe 2+ weeks in advance. Got in line at 4pm day of to check in. Showed receptionist details of Booking, and DOUBLE CHECKED TO SEE THAT WE GOT WHAT WE RESERVED IN ADVANCE. Receptionist confirmed. (Trust issues? Yes. Well warranted. Continue reading...) Went to room. HUGE DOWNGRADE. Double bathroom, partitioned deluxe 600+ Sq ft suite reserved, but got single room one bathroom ~400 Sq ft accomodations. Non-partitioned, etc. Obviously was not disclosed. Staff tried to pull a fast one. Went to front desk. They offered $50 refund for the vast difference after confrontation. I declined. Forced downgrade from a two-section deluxe king suite to a single handicapped suite) they claimed there was a technical problem at the midnight hour, never sent notice, and more importantly concealed this information deliberately at check in despite confirmation of the room details. I asked for management info and was given the run around. Didnt have a manager on staff. I asked for the regional manager. Declined info. Said they would give me manager info. Came back empty, said they were out of business cards. (Information doesnt exist unless it is on a business card?) Gave me assistant manager business card, and they said he was off duty until Monday. I left a vocie mail as a formality. Got bookings at seascape THE NIGHT OF for only marginally more in a ONE HOUR WINDOW. Accommodations are MUCH better, BEACHSIDE PROPERTY, and suites mean SUITES there. Not some jank room where one wall is extended 5 feet in place of a suite. The seascape resort being exponentially better is just a huge bonus.Only reason they dont get one star is that we declined the room and they allegedly cancelled the reservation vs us filing a heavily documented charge back. *update* there were even some hiccups with that process..
Stayed here for a midweek work trip because the prices for the night were the most competitive in the area. It seems like an excellent place to go on a family vacation, but I would not use it again for business travel. There were lots of families with children and dogs using the pool and running through the property until at least 11pm, so it was hard to sleep. The walls were also thinner than your average hotel so you can hear everything happening in the rooms around you. However, the staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean and nice. No microwave in my room. Walking distance to Seacliff Beach.

We just checked in . I told them on the phone we wanted a view of the pool. We get here and they say its $20 more dollars a night for the view of the pool and then they put us on the bottom floor with a view of bushes. Im so disappointed in this place. Ive stayed here multiple times. The girls at the front desk ate not friendly at all.
Convenient location, nice grounds, clean, hotel service below average. Staff friendly enough but could be friendlier. House keeping very noisy early in the morning and did not keep the supplies in the room stocked even though asked daily. Hotel restaurant acceptable but no frills. Pool area can get noisy in the evening. Overall OK stay but not impressed.

We used this hotel as a one night stopover down the PCH. It’s in a convenient location for that reason, but otherwise I wouldn’t chose to stay in this part of town.The room was large and had recently been renovated. The bones of the building are old and were made with 70s grade materials. I could hear our neighbors tv through the walls, and they could probably hear mine. The AC is an old wall unit that is quite loud (though I enjoy that noise to fall asleep to, so I don’t mind). The renovation brought a big tv with streaming, bright lights, lots of plugs, and motion censor lights.Overall, totally acceptable and quiet for a one night stay. Don’t expect luxury and you’ll be fine.
Place was nice. The room was nice . What I didnt like is they offer you coffee, but they want you to pay $5 dollars for the bottles in the room. Come on, really,luckily we took your own water and they also make you pay $10 parking 🤔 never had that happen. So be sure to take your own water bottles unless you dont mind paying $5. A bottle other than that, it was nice 👍
We had a wonderful stay at the Seacliff Inn in Aptos. The grounds were beautiful, and our room was perfect. Great location .
Positive: Really clean, nice grounds. Negative: I didn¿t anticipate the $100 pet fee for 1-5 nights. I only stayed one night and was kicking myself for not checking the pet fee prior. Plus the $10 parking - it just added up to not a good deal.

I went to Seacliff for a wedding reception and it was absolutely perfect. The room for the reception was lovely & the outside area had a pond with ducks & koi fish. The bridge and waterfalls made the pictures unforgettable. The staff made things wonderful for the newlyweds and their guests. The food was pretty good as well. I highly recommend staying or holding an event here.

There were ants large spiders and small bugs in the bathroom tried to call nobody answered. We were so tired and work uo early and left as soon as we could very very nice room but bugs were a big red flag and we couldn’t be as comfortable as we wanted to be. Asked for towels in the morning at 6 and they wanted us to wait until 7. Why would we and why would you have so many beds in the room but not enough towels for the capacity of beds?
Nothing to complain about except that the water pressure in the shower wasnt great. There wasnt a single place that I looked at that I thought wasnt cleaned, no stray hairs or random scuffs in the wall. Bedsheets were clean, beds comfy, bathrooms clean. I was really impressed. The landscaping and pool area were beautiful and the restaurant was decent. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Really great place and I will stay here again in the future.
I have made several trips to Seacliff Inn in the past couple of years. This time I read all the Google Reviews before my trip. I recall one person complained about the water pressure in the shower. Ok, it wasnt the greatest, but overall my stay was excellent.

Our Suite was comfortable, but I rated their service lower because our checkout was delayed by issues regarding additional unwarranted charges on our bill. Additionally, we did not receive a refund owed from our deposit.
Was greeted by a lovely person at the desk. Upon receiving the keys to our room we were met with dirty towels in the hallway (seems to be a re-occurance). The room was stuffy so I turned on the air. I found it a little confusing on the AC as it stated AC UNIT CONTROLLED BY WALL UNIT. The wall unit was counting down from 10 and didnt seem to work so I called the front desk. A maintenance person by the name of Bruno came into our room in a rather aggressive manner. I informed him about the issue and he replied in a condescending tone, well its all pretty self explanatory. I told him that there is a sign on the unit saying its controlled by the wall and then he said, again in a condescending tone well its obviously not working so you have to control it here. The interaction ended with me just not responding any further. The location of the highway is a bit noisy near the hotel. Overall I would not recommend this place and will not stay here again when I visit Aptos. This isnt the 3 star hotel it sets itself out to be.
Stayed here last week for a quick trip with my son. I was given a room key at check-in that was already occupied, sooooooo embarrassing! Make sure the front desk checks your first and last name when you check-in, otherwise you might end up like my situation. Good thing whoever was in the room was just sitting on the bed. The next room key luckily no one was in the room, but we didnt have a remote control for the TV anywhere. I called the front desk (same person who gave me an occupied room) and she said she would check for another remote control. She called back 10 minutes later, sorry we dont have any extra remotes according to maintenance. What? They could have checked another empty room for a remote if this was true, I find it hard to believe a hotel doesnt have extra remote controls? The hotel obviously has had some recent upgrading in the rooms, looks nice overall...but my room 630 has spattered paint on the tile floor, the full length mirror is right up against the wall in front of one the bed. How are you supposed to look at your yourself, stand on the bed? Theres no room between the bed and the full length to actually see what you look like. I also needed to iron my clothes, there is an iron but no ironing board in the closet. The bed was comfy/clean and there were plenty of towels. Other than that, Im not sure if I would ever stay here again, even though its Hilton Tapestry and Im a Hilton Honors Diamond member. Dont just upgrade the walls & floors, upgrade the service here. Thank you.

Bed and pillows were not the best but thats just because they werent our own, nothing really wrong with them. Remote for the tv was hidden behind the bed and there was a stain on the comforter. I liked that the end tables have an outlet built into them with usb charging ports but one of the two was not plugged into the wall making it appear broken. They are going through a remodeling so I can let all that slide. The koi pond is only visible from the restaurant sadly but it was very nice to check out briefly. Overall a nice hotel and we are likely to stay here again.

There is something off about this place.The receptionist who “greeted” us after our arrival was the least welcoming customer service representative I have ever dealt with in my life in person. Who then lied about how to process parking validation with eating a meal since he was too lazy to do it himself. He told us that because he forgot to inform us that we had to bill our room at the restaurant to avoid paying for parking, we had to go have the cost refunded to our card and then charge our room. We knew he lied as the restaurant manager had him do it right away after he told us no.Besides that, the location was beautiful, the room was wonderful and the rest of the staff was great. But I can’t give a higher review as next time I’ll just go elsewhere where I feel welcome. This place stated they would provide some compensation for our experience, and that the hotel manager would follow up with us. Neither happened.
It was a Best Western previously.. is now a Hilton property. In all the hotels I have been to the floor number is the first digit and the room number follows.... Not at this hotel.... The first digit is the building # so my room number on the second floor was 125. The front desk might have told me that the numbers were non standard that was unexpected and unnecessarily complicated.They changed $10 for parking and the parking spaces are incredibly narrow for even a compact car.No microwave in the roomFront desk folks working that night were less than friendly.Used to be the name Hilton meant a deluxe experience. Hilton must have made improvements when they bought it. But it doesnt show.I dont mean to say its horrible. Many people have had a great time there. I have had a great time at the bar there.So your experience will probably be fine. its not bad at all, its just not great either. I always thought of Hilton as being great. This is the second Hilton property that I think should have been great.Anyway its worth a try for sure. From check in to check out, my wife and I truly enjoyed our time at the Seacliff inn. The layout of the rooms are great because you get to enjoy the charming property, the pool is central and the walkways are well kept. Along with the front desk there is the restaurant and bar that have a beautiful patio including a koi pond and waterfall with lights. Rooms are clean and modern. This is a romantic inn
Went there for a wedding reception. It was wonderful. The service and ambiance was great.
Positive: The cleanliness and comfort of the room and ability to use the exercise room, pool and jacuzzi. Negative: I didnt like that parking was extra. That was not evident when I booked the hotel. Since there is no choice, it was a way to advertise the room for less, but in the end, you were always going to pay $--- more for the night.

A number of deficiencies.Took any number of calls to make a reservation; it was a wedding group. Thought the price was high (over $300/night, no meals) for what you got. The room was clean but sparse. Just one 115vac desk area outlet for all electronics & charging. No nightlight which is needed because all lights keep going out unless they sense movement. (Went out while in the shower because of the curtain.) The heating system is quite noisy and a very strange thermostat. Big problem with noise from both other rooms & hall and from people in the outside bar area. Minor but front parking lot was closed for restoration but no signs for alternate parking or office access.
One star because the bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was clean, the big screen t.v. was nice. Other than that, the hotel was an embarrassment to what I have experienced at any other Hilton hotel. The $10 per night parking charge was tacky, chincy, and a total rip-off. Inner city hotels levy parking charges perhaps understandably, but a non-city motel???!! I dont think so! Also, bathroom light timers leaving me in the dark during showers=bad! Cheap plastic cups, empty body wash dispenser, miniature facial bar soap... all very weak moves for a Hilton. I wont stay at this one again.
I have stayed here many times but it sure has gone down. Bathroom shower was not clean. Bottom looked dirty. Where you put the soap had soap stuck to it. The faucets were full of spots like no one attempted to clean them. The light on one side of the bed didn’t work! You now have to pay $10 a night for parking. Your stay used to include breakfast and now it does not and they used to give a drink ticket and they no longer do that!!!! Such a disappointment an it was not cheap!!!!!
The reviews are correct about smell in room and thin walls. Couldnt get a good nights rest because of those issues.

Were diamond members and we stayed for one night. We were able to get late checkout but just until 1 pm. We were also given a $30 credit to use at the hotel restaurant for dinner or breakfast the next day. We opted to use it that night at Sevys. Everything was overpriced so after the discount it just seems like we paid regular price for some fish and chips and burgers. Food was pretty though.The room is just a standard room. The walls are very thin so if youre walking past the room, you can pretty much hear everything going on inside. The room was pretty clean, however, when I turned over one of my pillows there was clearly a footprint on one of them. Not sure what happened there. I hope housekeeping changes out the pillowcases every night.
One of the better hotels Ive been in! Would be nicer if there wasnt constant renovation, but theyre expanding and staying on top of their clean game!!Pretty views, lovely fountain and even a tasty restaurant!! The bartender Benjamin is easily one of the coolest and nicest guys Ive seen in the bartending industry!! Very encouraging and sweet~The pool is nice, hot tub is a little small, but it works and spacey enough!! They have gender neutral restrooms which is important to me.Love this hotel and would most certainly go back!!
Definitely will stay here again. Rooms were clean and spacious and bed was extremely comfy! Quiet and relaxing atmosphere and didn’t seem to notice much outside noise for our room. Outdoor patio was a nice surprise! Very happy with booking here and will stay again in the future.
Came here for a wedding and our anniversary. Our room was dirty (dirty shirt behind a bench and had to clean shower and fridge myself), booked through a third party and management refused to issue at least 1/2 the stay (which I think would be fair, only 1/2 of one night.) Would love to speak to a Hilton supervisor or anyone over management to make this right, don’t plan on staying in the Hilton chain anymore. Hotel did have nice decor, and some friendly staff.Response to owner: thanks for reaching back out, but the number you have provided is to the actual hotel property of course and that option has already been explored and resulted in what was mentioned in the previous comment. I will try to reach out to be connected to a supervisor via the link you provided, otherwise the direct number to the property is not helpful as this has already been done.
Great location, rooms were nice, neighbors weren’t noisey, beds were comfortable and our room location was downstairs and very convenient, restaurant was great, only complaint is the cleanliness. There was beer and garbage in the fridge, the trashes were not taken out, the toilet paper roll wasn’t filled, there was black hairs in the shower, and the floor was dirty. And they only gave us one cup for the coffee. Would stay here again but hopefully they can hire better housekeeping staff.
Stayed for two nights, the room was very small for $200+ per night, we asked for and were promised towel deliveries twice without any delivery. The pool is always too busy without lifeguard on duty. Google also told me that all rooms have microwaves but that is out of date. On the bright side though, the lobby and restaurant-garden is very good looking, and they do have a small but decent fitness center.
Positive: The landscaping is very well maintained, the staff I encountered were friendly, the restaurant had good food and service. Negative: I made and paid in full for my reservations before the hotel was a Hilton property but was subjected to a new parking fee when I arrived. Chairs have been replaced with stools, no comfortable place to sit.

Nice hotel, rooms were semi clean. Found a empty cannabis box in the drawer which told me room was not properly cleaned. There was no pressure in the shower in the king bed room. The balcony could have been cleaner. Chips on the carpet once again confirmed that the room was not properly cleaned. Please dont believe the statement that the rooms are safety cleaned because its not. Found stuff left in the fridge possibly from the previous guests. Getting a little disappointed with the Hilton brand. Hotel was easy to find and was right off the freeway. Quick check in. Would have to think twice about staying at this hotel again. For $350 should have been cleaned better.
Super clean rooms and a nice safe area close to Santa Cruz without the parking and homeless headaches. Great staff, Safeway across the street. Restaurants and shops nearby. There will be a $10 per night parking charge, heads up but worth the safety and cleanliness. Will definitely return. Great restaurant and bar with live music on premises.
Its a really nice hotel, the restaurant was good quality and pretty good prices 2 beers and a big burger for about 40 with tip included. The bartender was attentive and efficient and the service was fast. The room had a sliding glass door to the pk lot so unloading was easy and the view of just the landscape was beautiful.
A lovely hotel with clean rooms and beautiful grounds. Staff is friendly and amenities are great! The live music on weekends was so fun!The rooms are pricey but they can be worth it for a guaranteed relaxing getaway.
My wife and I had a nice beautiful stay for a night in a huge room with all the amenities and couldnt have asked for better lodging. A bit prices but not over the top. All in all we love this place and will be back. Thank you Seacliff In Aptos!!!

My girl friend and I had a wonderful weekend getaway in Aptos. We absolutely loved our room #406. It was clean, quiet, and felt very sturdy. The restaurant was amazing and our server Olivia went out of her way to accommodate our requests. We even think we saw the country singer Morgan Wallen there. Wow! We will be coming back once we get back from our home in Montana. We give this hotel two thumbs up! Yoo-hoo!
Positive: It was clean and the bar/restaurant was good. Negative: It was way too loud with other occupants slamming doors or allowing doors to just slam. We were woken up several times early in the morning. It also woke up my 3-year told toddler.
Rooms were pretty basic, like most other hotel rooms. Would have given 5 start if my son and cousins in another room didnt both find hair in their bathtubs. Other than that, each room seemed to have a small patio w 2 chairs right outside the back door. Our room had a Smart TV so we could log into Netflix. Oh shoot, just remembered that we didnt log out 🤷🏼♀️, oh well 🤷🏻. Bathtub and Toilet are in their own room which is pretty small. This sink to wash your hands and plug in the blowdryer are right outside the bathroom. There is a very nice restaurant located on the premises that delivers to your room only for dinner, otherwise you can pick it up and bring it back.. Also a very nice outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub located in the middle of the hotel. If reservations are made in advance the price is doable but because our reservation got messed up we had to pay double per night, which was almost $400 per room! That part was absolutely ridiculous! Not sure how that is even legal 🤔 but we paid it, didnt have a choice!
The place is clean and renew.The front desk person was not very communicative or helpful. They also charge you 10 extra dollars if you have a car which of course you need a card to get to that hotel. Our room was clean and renew but the AC didnt work. They offer us switch rooms but it was really late at night so we ended up staying in that room.Price $145 night
Two stars - extremely disappointed; poor customer service!Facts:- $10 a day hidden parking fee- $4.95 a day internet fee for DSL and VPN- $10 an hour to rent a bike- Low shower pressure- No private balconies on the ground floor- Paper thin walls; you can hear EVERYTHING- No maid service until after 3 days of stay- No breakfastExperience:I stayed for three nights and four days at the Seacliff hotel.First Night:Upon arrival the front desk person was rude, inexperienced, and not very knowledgeable about the hotel layout. We didnt receive a map or clear instructions on how to get to our room. Our room was in building three and near the main entrance. You could hear and feel the room shake every time a guest entered the building. I didnt get much sleep.Second day/night:We had a neighbor who smoked cigarettes outside in their nonprivate patio event though the rooms are smoke free. The cigarette smell filled our room quickly and made it very uncomfortable to stay in. The hotel has strict quiet hours that begin at 10pm. Our neighbor was blasting their TV very loudly and we called the front desk to ask them to quiet it down. They never called our neighbor (the walls are paper thin, we would have heard them call) Because our neighbor didnt turn down their TV, we called the front desk again, and this time we asked to switch rooms. They said they called the room to ask them to turn down the TV (lies!) they also told us they didnt have any rooms available to allow us to switch. Eventually after about an hour, they sent security to knock on the door and ask our neighbor to turn down the TV. We didnt get much sleep on the second night as well. During the day we asked for a map so that I could check out the Koi pond and a different responded with, Hmmm, a map? I think Ive seen those around and she gave me one that had marks all over it.Third night:At 3:05 am I was awaken by screams in the hallway. It was a couple arguing about infidelity. Again, I didnt sleep well. We asked for a refresh on towels and although we reserved the room for two adults, we only received one towel set. (a common problem Ive seen in reviews) Its like the receptionists doesnt take initiative or they arent trained on how to do their job. We had to hunt down the housekeeper to ask for another towel set.*Misc notes:- The tall length mirror is placed in a very awkward and hard to use area between the wall and the bed with no room to step in front of it. Youd have to stand on the bed to be able to use it ( a common problem Ive seen in other reviews as well)- Couldnt work from the hotel because the internet speed you need to run your works VPN cost $5 a day. What a rip-off!- Not sure why they charge for parking but I wish they wouldntFor a Hilton brand hotel, I expected more. I am highly disappointed with my stay as many others have mentioned in their recent reviews. I wish I would have read the reviews before staying at the hotel. I saw the 4.5 rating and thought I would have a great stay but go read the recent reviews and make your decision from what you read.
Room wasnt ready on time. Staff could have cared less. Room was upstairs but no elevator. Being a senior, would have changed our room selection. Bathtub ran brown water out into the tub. Its an old hotel so you understand limitations. Having stayed at dozens of Hilton hotels, the standards here were not up to Hilton hotel standards.
Room was clean pool and jacuzzi area was really nice, beach was really close to hotel. Stores and other places like coffee shops within walking distance. I took my son and had breakfast at the beach room was beyond my expectations!
They did not put us in the room layout we paid for. Upon checking in a specifically ask that they confirm that we had a suit with 2 bathrooms and I ask about the sleeping arrangements. Maria at the front counter assured me that our room had two bathrooms and one room with a queen bed and another room with a King bed and two bunk beds. When we got to the room it had a sitting area for TV and only one bedroom with a King bed and 2 bunk beds and only one bathroom. When I went back to let Maria know that she gave us the wrong room, she said that she had “miscommunicated” the room information to me. I let her know that because of our group it was a must that get the room I had reservations for. She said that all of the suits were filled. She said I could have a discount on a standard room. Proceed to require me to pay for the extra room. She said she would check to see if the room I originally paid for came available for our second night that she would move us. This was absolutely ridiculous. I asked to speak to the manager and she said no one was available. She said someone would contact me the following day. On one ever tried to reach us. In addition, our towels smelt sour, we asked several times for clean towels and 2 extra packages of coffee and nothing came.
If you want a really relaxing time by the pool and taking a jacuzzi ....dont come here. The pool/jacuzzi is basically a kiddy pool/jacuzzi....and including some in diapers. The only time the pool was peaceful was when they closed it after someone had a case of diarrhea while swimming. There were also no fresh towels after 4pm on a Sunday and the restrooms needed cleaning. If you want daily maid service...this isnt your place. Out of two nights and three days there, they never once came in to clean, take out trash, make the bed, give new toiletries or even new coffee products. On a high note....the restaurant on the property was amazing(delicious food) and the service very good. This property is now owned by Hilton...and as a Hilton property....we expected more.
Positive: Good location. Not so great Staff. Good room. Negative: The hotel charged me without my authorization. They charged me that I ordered something from the hotel, which I didnt. Also never told me about the parking lot charges. It had never happened before.
I’ve stayed here many times and in the past I’ve had good experience however this time I must say the service has declined substantially. One not enough towels for the 2 days stay, when called for more towels it took several hours to received them. Secondly not enough coffe for 2 days stay. third sheets smelt dirty.at check out I was not asked how was my stay and not to mention paying extra for your parking in addition to paying over 300 more dollars a night. In the past I have bragged this to my neighbors and friends about this hotel but now I will them not to go here and this was my last visit. Cant use Covid as an excuse for poor service forever!
If you dont care about cleanliness/housekeeping, this hotel is fine. Its cute, nicely decorated, and the grounds were well maintained. If you are interested in a clean room and housekeeping services, do NOT stay here. The sheets were ditry when we arrived (a large stain with sticky stuff) so we called to ask for a bed change. 2 hours later, we left our room for the evening, called again for the bed change, and to also request an adequate number of bath towels (there was only one towel when we arrived, even though 2 adults and 1 child were listed on the reservation). When we returned, the bed was remade with the SAME DIRTY SHEETS. We called down a 3rd time, and were just brought sheets so we could make the bed ourselves. No towels were delivered, so we had to call again for those. The sign on the mirror of the bathroom stated basic housekeeping was available by request (beds made, trash removed, towels refreshed), so after our 2nd night, we called to request this. We were told this was not the case, and they only do room cleans every 3rd or 4th day. We asked for the basic items on the bathroom list, and were told they dont make beds in between the room cleans. So we asked for at least trash removal and a refresh on coffee supplies, and none of that was done. The floor was clearly not vacuumed, as there was food around the perimeter, and the entryway floor into the room was visibly dirty. We paid about $330 a night for this hotel--ridiculous that we had so many issues with cleanliness/housekeeping, and that it basically wasnt even really a service to begin with, apparently. I would absolutely not stay here again. Hilton should be embarrassed to call this one of their properties. I would not want this establishment representing my company.

Conveniently located right by Pacific Coast. It was a reasonable distance from Santa Cruz. The hotel is recently renovated and amenities are good. Rooms are large with plenty of space. We stayed in one of the suits. The sofa bed was not too comfortable, making lots of noise.
My room was clean, comfortable and the service was great. I would stay again. The only problem was the hot tub jets wouldnt work and the pool area run out of towels before we arrived each day.
The restaurant just needs to hire completely new staff. The staff is SO lazy here. We went for lunch and there were not even a lot of people there but we were so neglected and ignored. The tables werent wiped, we sat at a dirty table for over 30 minutes asking 2 servers to clean our table. We didnt get our water/drinks for that amount of time either we had to go ask the bartender for water and drinks because our little girl was so thirsty. We finally tracked down a 3rd server who took our order but had attitude like we were bothering them. Also jacuzzi hours close too early here, 10 pm :(. Its sad but this made our stay and experience here unpleasant. :(
I chose this hotel because of its convenient location and I had stayed here years ago and had a wonderful experience with the room and amenities. Things however, have changed since it has taken on new ownership and rebranded as a Hilton Tapestry Collection. According to my research, this line of Hilton hotels are based on creating a unique experience targeted at millennial guests who seek a more personal touch. In reality, they removed/ downgraded many amenities in this process and put others behind a pay wall. I could go on and on but Ill share some highlights.Even before we booked out stay we ran into this nickle-and-dime business model as their hotel requires a two-night minimum. As if a one night stay wouldnt be worth their time. When we checked in we also discovered there was a mandatory $10 per night charge for car parking. We didnt even have a vehicle and found it wasteful to be required to pay an additional $20 for someone elses parking spot, but we didnt think much of it at the time.When we got into our room, without the use of luggage carts, which was a previous amenity now removed, we found the bathtub was half the size what we remembered and smaller than our apartment unit. The shower curtain that retains the water only went halfway down, so it didnt actually stop the water from leaking and flooding the rest of the tiny bathroom, which we abruptly cleaned out of fear of water damage or a huge cleaning charge. We also discovered the internet ran at DSL speeds, but luckily they offered high speed internet for the low price of an additional $4.99 per night! I was never able to clarify if this was a per device charge or per room as we would rather use our 5G unlimited data.Unfortunately, in spite of this historically being a relatively upscale hotel when we returned for the night, we found there was a very loud outside part of people, with many of the attendees standing on the road to the back parking or parking their cars so we couldnt get back to our room. The noise was so loud we could hear it from our building in the back of the property.The next morning we awoke and were expecting to have a continental breakfast, which is a staple of any 3-star hotel and had been previously offered at this location when it was a Best Western. Unfortunately their rebranded restaurant Sevys, formally a local favorite know as Severinos, had served as a replacement to the previously complimentary breakfast. Because of course why would they offer something for free when they could charge us for it 😩. This was carved into our experience as so many features were additional charges, Im honestly surprised they didnt charge for extra towels, although I might be speaking too soon as I havent received my final bill yet.In summary, this hotel went from a solid 3-star experience to a tacky millennial experience with cheap renovations to make it appear unique but it only serves to mask the real 2-star hotel within.
Nice place to stay. Rooms were clean, Bar was great. Restaurant was way overpriced for dinner. All of the vending machines were empty and bottled water in the room was 5.00 per bottle.
Friendly staff, rooms are clean. But was not expecting to have to pay extra for parking! Also fyi, no breakfast was included. Youd think at a Hilton you can expect a little more but nope! Bare-bones my dood. Come prepared.
Positive: The friendly staff Negative: They were paving the parking lot and we couldnt park near our room. Also had trouble finding a place to park at all due to the paving. Was really inconvenient. But I understand that life happens and sometimes those situations occur.
We all woke up early morning because management thought it was a good idea to allow maintenance crew to start pressure washing the building.This was one of many issues that we’ve encountered during our very short stay. It seems that this hotel doesn’t expect repeat business, so it makes it ok to provide bad experience for guests.
Pretty nice spot, good bed and good shower. Add coffee in the lobby and a more competitive price point and this place is five stars.
I have been coming to Sea Cliff Inn since 1987. Every summer at least once, sometimes twice . To my great disappointment I will not be going back. No more movies, no more maid service, no more room service, no more Chinese chicken salad, no more free breakfast, no friendly customer service. I tried to keep going because it was such a family tradition . At first I would bring my children, then also my grandchildren. I’m sad to say it has been so disappointing to say the least. It no longer feels like a vacation while staying there. They make you feel like a burden, and an inconvenience.
I stayed here one night and found it to be one of the more reasonably priced 3/4-star hotels in the Santa Cruz area. Nice hotel close to Seacliff and New Brighton beaches, and conveniently located off Hwy 1 @ State Park Drive. My room was very nice: modern interior, comfortable bed, nice shower, and all the basic amenities. Quite a few streaming options, as well. Theres a restaurant and pool onsite.
Outstanding staff, and a lovely property for your enjoyment. I enjoy the koi pond, large property, gardens, and bath tubs, as well as the jacuzzi tub rooms.Linens are all pretty plush and decent. They could stand to be updated in the next 6-8 months.Television, microwave upon request, coffee at the front was very good quality.Rooms will likely be updated in the next few years or sooner, I suppose.Hopefully, they’ll be able to keep their excellent prices, and maintain the amazingly beautiful property.The property is just cute as heck!!! Lots of gardens, balconies and patios are spotless! The gardens are neatly manicured!I just can’t say enough good about this place from the grounds to the staff.The rooms are decent, and they are not currently “fancy” with Scandinavian styling or colors. I suspect they updated between 2008-2010 give or take.

This is a great, fun hotel thats perfect for families. It is near a highway, so there are some rooms that are noisier than others.They are currently doing a large-scale renovation (June 2021), so be sure to check to see if youll be in an older or newer room. The upgrades are great.They would be well-served to upgrade the pool towels, but the pool/spa are very family-friendly.
We really feel this room was way over priced. We paid over $400 with parking for 1 Saturday night! The room wasn’t clean upon arrival, someone left their lighter in the lock box and we couldn’t use or reset the lock box, there was no coffee cups, not even a bottle of water to make coffee, the Wi-Fi was out for the first hour, no pool towels, no ice bin liner, only one clean towel when we arrived, mildew odor from the shower curtain, my husband got shocked plugging in the phone to the night stand charger. This is not a $400+ hotel. Very disappointed, had we not paid so much, I’m sure we wouldn’t feel so jaded.
Very pleasant place, lots of trees, plants and such that give a garden like atmosphere. It is a bit pricy but the rooms are nice and clean. They have a small pool and some rooms have a pool facing patio. And there is a restaurant next door which is convenient.
Overall no real complaint as a diamond member and a very clean and pleasant property

We had a nice stay, a well maintained property, and courteous staff. Located walking distance to Safeway and good coffee shops.
Loved the stay and the proximity to the beach and extremely friendly staff. The rooms were spacious and clean. Very easy access to parking and there is a grocery store at a walkable distance should you need something. The restaurant has live performances. Breakfast was well served and fresh and they kept refilling items. Also got two complimentary drinks as a rewards member.
Our family of four is staying during the second week of June, 2021. It appears all of the sea containers in the parking lot are for room renovations as our room was very new and obviously renovated recently. The pool was clean and appropriately sized for the number of guests that could stay here, and there were new pool towels available each time we went. The grounds are well-maintained and there were plants and trees everywhere and a small coy pond next to the restaurant attached. The restaurant food was very good and the drinks were strong. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. Although the highway is nearby and I noticed it, when you were at the pool, the sound is very muffled and it’s not noticeable. We had consistent and strong Wi-Fi on all devices throughout the property, and I wasn’t annoyed to regularly reconnect or agree to the terms and conditions every 20 freaking minutes. We will definitely be staying again. Pardon the photos, we are actually staying here and I didn’t stage any of them with our stuff out of the way. lol
After coming yearly for years our last stay will probably be last..been taken over by large conglomerate .Breakfast no longer free.$100 for 4, including no toast as normally served. Pool ladder dangerously broken with no warning sign.Room service food Sad.below par,not like old . This has been a special place for us,as my grandsons grew up.as many other San Franciscans enjoy a break.Prices increased & when I complained upon return home,I was directed to huge conglomerate in Orange County…not the wonderful personal service we had enjoyed. Started 16 years ago & it was our special place.No longer.
For a Hilton property, it needs work. It appears this is a new acquisition. Id possibly come again once some things are improved.All of the staff was friendly and helpful.The front lobby and dining area are under construction which was ok, but some other things were disappointing.The food was... ok.. nothing outstanding, but nothing bad..just ok. Glad we had Hilton food credit to cover the cost. The fish taco smelled off, luckily it didnt taste off. Breakfast; they were out if basic items and my Salmon Eggs beni was good, but the potatoes were cold and underwhelming.The room was an upgrade but positioned us right next to the pool/hot tub so all the noise from there was coming right through the first floor slider that didnt do a good job of keeping noise out.The WiFi in the room only worked sometimesThe bed was quite firm, if thats something you like then itll be perfect..not so much for us.The room TV guide worked the first night, but not any other nightThe heater in the room made an awful noise when it came on.. Maintenance took a look at it and it was better..but obviously old.The property grounds and pool area are really nice.Itll be interesting to see how the changes to registration and restaurant turn out.. hopefully the new look helps and they figure out the rest of things.The hotel is about a 15min Uber from Downtown Santa Cruz.
We went to Sevys to have brunch on Sunday and were denied seating because there were 9 of us. There was no one in the restaurant at the time, and we were told there we reservations. As guests, I would think we would have been accommodated. We went elsewhere.Also, a package was delivered to me and I wasnt informed by the staff. I never would have known if the person who left it for me hadnt called to confirm I received it. I had already returned home at that point. We were in town for my mothers memorial service and these were personal items of my moms. When I called the front desk to ask why I wasnt notified, I was told they thought someone was going to come pick it up. I asked Who drops off a package at a hotel desk for some random person to pick up? Their response It happens all of the time Not only was this unacceptable, it sounds a little sketchy!
Beautiful grounds and views. Everything was extremely clean and neat and the people, patrons and employees alike, were all very kind and friendly. Ill definitely return.
Nice clean rooms, light and airy. Not very sound proof, as the people above had kids stomping around quite late and the hallway noise was very prevalent.

The rooms, general layout, landscaping and swimming pool were quite nice for the price range. However, the room was noisy, some device in the bathroom wouldnt turn off. Also, this whole no breakfast because of COVID is getting old. Youre telling me restaurants everywhere have managed to figure out safe meals but hotel chains cant? And yet you leave coffee in the room but no sugar, cream nor tea? When I called reception, they said they could send some cream to the room. We waited over 45min then left to have coffee somewhere else.
I know this just recently became a Hilton and it is hard to hire staff these days but for the price, I expected more. There are no accessible electric plugs on the same side of the room as the beds. I had to drag the desk lamp, which had an outlet and USB port, to the foot of a bed and then use my 10ft phone charger to get to the bed table - to charge overnight and reach alarm in the morning. Of course I tripped on the lamp cord crossing the room several times. I was out in the hallway running down housekeepers to get soap and heard other guests doing the same. The internet is not strong enough for the facility. My first room, the TV did not work at all. Then fixed, and couldnt hold link to internet so that it is impossible to stream a movie at all, and live TV is interrupted a few times an hour but fixes itself. They assured me it was just that one room but I changed rooms and had the same problem there too. For nearly $300 a night including pay parking, I did expect more.
Positive: The hotel is fine, we have stayed there before. However, due to the severe storm, roads washed out, flooding and lack of power in the area, we had no way to reach the hotel.
I had a very good experience with the hotel. Location was perfect, and very easy to find. Front desk was very clean and ladies were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I will definitely stay there again when I plan my next trip in that area. I loved how peaceful the room was and thought the little bistro set on the patio was such a great touch. Complimentary breakfast was also pretty good. The room was clean and I thought the bed was really comfortable. This hotel was peaceful and quite. I would recommend This hotel for anyone looking.
Not a luxury hotel but is a nice place. The room we had was nice but would not say luxurious. The AC unit wasnt working correctly when we arrived but they had the maintenance man come address the issue within 10 minutes.The hotel seems to be a very popular place for families with kids. Also we saw a few youth sports teams with their families there too. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and no one was being too loud. I wouldnt recommend it if you are looking for a romantic getaway though.Not sure if it was the walls or our next door neighbor but we could hear their entire conversation in the evenings. I have stayed at many hotels for business and the thin walls didnt seem unusual to me though. We were lucky our neighbors went to bed early. Might not be a great stay if you have loud neighbors that stay up late.The outside area is very nice. The grass is well kept and walkways were very clean. There were several families enjoying the grassy areas throwing around a frisbee, football, etc.The pool and hot tub looked nice but I didnt get a chance to try them on my visit. It was busy but didnt look over crowded.The on sight restaurant was good. Servers were nice. They also serve the hot breakfast that comes with the room at the restaurant. It is a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, potatoes, etc in a buffet bar. They also had cereal, pastries, bread juice and coffee. It was overall a very nice breakfast that comes with the room.I would recommend this place if your are looking for a place to stay with a family but not for a couple looking for a romantic weekend.
At check in I learned that there would be no room service after the first night! So for our three night stay we never had beds remade or new towels. Also: great hot tub and pool but hot tub shuts off at 9 pm! Doesn’t open until 9 am . What’s up with these hours?Their coffee maker in room is awful. No container other than a paper cup to receive your coffee!The grounds are very nice.. but with no room service this hotel I can’t recommend this hotel.
I made a mistake and accidentally booked one day prior for Thanksgiving. When I showed up, the front desk, told me, no it was canceled and you werent charged. I said, are you sure, I see it pending on my credit card. We can go home because I made the mistake and I didnt want to pay over $500? She said no, you are fine, we have a room for you. So then I get home and see that was still pending to my credit card. So I call again, and the front desk says no, it was canceled you are ok. I also check Best Western account and it also shows canceled. Then I get my credit card statement and it was charged. I call a third time and the front desk woman says, no you were a no show, so you were charged. I said no, I came the next day and I talked to the front desk and she said it was ok. The woman on the phone says no, that was for a different reservation. I said, but I checked the Best Western Account and it shows that it was canceled and she says, very rudely by the way, I dont know why you made so many reservations, and we are not associated with Best Western anymore (as of yesterday:))so you have to call them. I explained to her that the reason I had to make two reservations was because their system didnt allow me to edit the reservation, she says, well I dont have anything to do with the online reservation system so I cant help you. So each time a different story and the last woman was so rude it was crazy. Will not be staying there again. The bathtub still had water in it when we stayed and the food from the restaurant was unexceptional for the price. The only good thing was the hot tub was nice and the wait staff was very professional and accommodating. PS. They say it is walking distance to the beach, but unless you want to get killed walking on the freeway, there is no way it is walking distance to the beach. You need to drive.
Just across the 1 right off the freeway. A little far to walk to the beach but was a real easy drive & plenty of parking. Hotel was great. Has a nice pool with towels provided, patios at most rooms, large complex, with restaurant & bar. Is easy walk to several places to shop, get coffee, groceries, & wasnt crowded. Try them out, we will next time we head down to Santa Cruz.
Nice hotel right by the beach! The building is a bit old, and the decks show it, but the interior is nice. Rooms are pretty small. Lower level rooms do not have enclosed decks, but upper levels do. Nice staff.
Review stars are based on cost combined with past experience here.One packet of reg. coffee in the room, one chair on the balcony, bath towels a little bigger than hand towels, heater that shut on and off every 3-5 seconds all night, no towels at the pool. Hot tub (jacuzzi) was a warm tub and where did all the big, colorful, coy-fish go? Also, why do hotels never advertise when theyre under construction? Just be upfront and offer a discount accordingly for goodness sake. The fantastic breakfast that used to be included is gone... cant even pay for breakfast as they do offer a pay-for lunch and dinner. Will definitely venture out to a different hotel next time Im in town.

It has been a hotel we have stayed at many times because of location. Once before we had a problem with dirty used rooms upon arrival but thought it was a fluke. This week they removed the breakfast without warning. They have always had a breakfast. They didnt have a very good coffee set up in rooms so it forced you to leave and go out. I noticed a mix match of towels in our bathroom which if you know chains thats not a real thing. Offered No cleaning at all, if you want a clean room they would try and switch you to a clean room. After staying here I was told they were bought by Hilton and and getting ready for a remodel. So heres to you, thanks for the warning BW. Not a fan anymore.

I enjoyed my stay at Seacliff. The staff was kind and helpful. Just a few things. Because of COVID you will have to ask for fresh towels, they do not clean the room every day and bring a hair dryer!!

I am only giving three stars because of the lack of any soundproofing between rooms. The hotel has been nicely upgraded, the pool area is very nice and they have a wonderful restaurant/bar. I would not stay here again primarily because of the noise level between rooms.
Wish we would have stayed here all week instead of the last day of our trip. Beautiful courtyard with large swimming pool and hot tub. The restaurant was fantastic - great for a laid-back or classy meal. Live music played while we dined and the front desk gave us drink tickets. Our room was clean, updated, and we didnt hear any outside noise. Breakfast was huge, much better than standard hotel food. Overall, awesome place to stay!
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Seacliff Inn. It is very clean and inviting. It has a real resort feel. The staff was kind and attentive to all of our needs and requests. The restaurant food was delicious and the bar has live music most nights. It is a true little gem in a terrific location. We are so glad to have found it and will most definitely return again and again.

Clean and quiet. Great place to stay
Our stay at this hotel was enjoyable. I would definitely stay there again. The staff were very helpful. The restaurant was good and the lounge had music and dancing. The location was perfect and the grounds were beautiful. The fitness center could be bigger, but overall we enjoyed staying here.
We had booked two rooms and we checked in at 9 oclock at night and still one of the rooms was not ready. Although rooms were nice and clean One of the rooms had very strong smell of bleach and/or some kind of cleaning supply and the bathroom floor was sticky. Breakfast was amazing and the staff was nice. Internet was reliable. Other than the check-in hitch and the odor in the room overall experience was good.
Place had beautiful grounds with a big pool located in the middle of all the rooms. It was a nice view with your own small private deck. Weather was wonderfully cool. Rooms were ok, bathroom quite small,, we would probably not stay there again unless we had no other choice due to the extremely high prices. At $342.00 for one night that was way to much we thought.
My room wreaked of cigarette smoke so I had to move rooms. The balcony even had cigarette ash and a burn along with a can of chewing tobacco. The lobby staff acted rushed and showed no real customer service. I received no apology for the disgusting smelling room. The new room was better but the fact that I paid over 300 dollars for one night in a room in a hotel that had a loud, wild, bar party the night I was there is disgusting. Dealing with drunk people yelling and slamming doors after the blasting music and partying ended made it worse. How can such a sub par facility have the audacity to charge what Disneyland good neighbor hotels charge? There was no water available in the room, I call down to room service 5 times and no one ever answered the phone. Terrible service, terrible price, terrible atmosphere. Not worth the price, should be a motel 6.
This hotel was very unique. Upon arriving I noticed the hotel is more of an apartment looking complex and every upper level room has a patio, which I thought was pretty cool. Dont have too many hotels that have that. The room was also very nice. The beds were soft but not too squishy which is the way I prefer to sleep. Had a good stay at this place. Id definitely stay there again.
The Seacliff Inn is very nice. It is very close to the beach. The exterior grounds are lovely and the pool area is nice. All of the staff were very friendly. The room were a bit dated and the bathroom was so small I could barely turn around when the door was shut. The bed was much too firm for my taste and a bit lumpy. I didnt sleep that well. The breakfast was excellent. Overall it was a nice experience and I would recommend the hotel.
Bad service, bad Menu, bad food. requested room service ignored. Called at night for towels, soap, and coffee with cups. Was told they would get right on it. 45 minutes later still waiting. The only good thing was the waitress.
Great place with awesome amenities. The hot tub and pool were appreciated. Fitness center was convenient. Staff were cordial and friendly. Would stay again.
Staff were rude and not professional. Questioned me several times about my ID and age (why do the staff need to know my age?).. floor/sink were also quite dirty. For a hotel that is $300 a night this should be better.
I’ve stayed at a lot of Best Westerns over the years and this location is by far the best. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Each room has its own open patio or balcony which is really nice. The only draw back is that you can hear people talking in the hallway as if the door were wide open. I just wish that me and my husband stayed two nights to really enjoy all the amenities. I loved the continental breakfast with outdoor seating available. The on-site restaurant is a plus even though we didn’t eat there. Thanks for making our stay an enjoyable one.
Nice clean place to stay. Hotel staff are very professional and respectful when we checked in and ate at their restaurant. Noise was a bit loud on our last nights stay. We had to call the front desk at 1:00 am. Kids were running around and slamming doors above us (30 + kids were there for a field trip. Want to make sure people get a full picture of kids running crazy above us). When we checked out the next morning (we wanted to extend our stay by another day) the staff was less then polite regarding the noise. They said you shouldve requested to move. We shared why would we want to move at 1:00 am. This was our third night staying in their hotel. Other then this, its a great place.
Beware: Bed Bugs. I stayed at the Seacliff Inn 7/7-7/8 and after sleeping in the bed, I woke up with several bug bites on my right side, the side I sleep on. I brought this to the attention of the front desk, and she said that they haven’t had this problem before and frankly didn’t believe me — even after showing her the bites on my arm. I was told maintenance would be sent and I would receive a phone call regarding the situation. That phone call never came. I rarely write reviews but it’s a few days later, my arm is very itchy, and I am frustrated that there seems to be no follow up on behalf of the hotel.

We reserved a King and ended up with two Queens instead. They correct it the next day, as we were switching rooms they call to tell us they are not sure if theres anyone in the room, so well need to wait. We are on business trip, this makes us a half hour late. The first room had a tub but it was dirty as was the mirror. Coffee in the room. but no coffee cups just plastic water cups. The second room didnt have a bath tub, bummer for me. The king size room had so much water damage on the sliding glass door it was hard to see through. Im sure why but the maid never came by in three days to empty garbage or anything. The toilet was plugged apon arrival and it took a good 45 minutes and two calles to the front desk to get it taken care of. The toilet also had a high pitch whine till it was filled. We were not informed that the place was being remodeled at the time of our stay, they really should disclose that when booking a room.
I gave it two stars because the kids enjoyed the pool. The pool is about half the size that is shows in the pictures from the website. The bathroom was dirty and there wasnt enough shampoo, conditioner or soap. I called for more but they never brought it. They charged us extra so keep an eye out when they give you the Bill. The staff seemed unprofessional especially during the complimentary breakfast. They were in a hurry to get everyone out taking all of the buffet items people were still eating. Also theres no elevator so if you have luggage stay downstairs.
Great hotel in a great location. Walk to the beach! Nice breakfast included.Staff was friendly and rooms were nice. We liked the scale of the place. Only two stories high with buildings located around a central pool area.
This hotel is old and the room are in desperate need of a remodel. The exterior walkways and such are dirty and in need of a good powerwash, the breakfast was mediocre at best. The balcony to my room had not been swept as there was popcorn all over it, there was something brown and decaying in my garbage can, stains all over the carpets. There was a loud party in the room next to me all night, I would NOT stay here again . It felt like a Motel 6, not a $300+ a night Best Western.
We spent a Friday night at this very attractive hotel. Our checkin was very quick and when we arrived at our room it was clean and simply furnished. Our room looked out onto the parking lot but it wasn’t noisy. The buffet breakfast was extremely generous and the dining area looked out onto a lovely patio and waterfall. The nearby bar had two TVs showing the Olympics. The bed was one of the most comfortable for a hotel that I can remember. It would have been a near perfect stay except for the noise children next door to us made during the evening. However, We’d stay there again.
The room is pleasant. The bed was very comfortable. The grounds are pretty. The free breakfast is very good. Severinos Restaurant has excellent food. The music on Saturday night was too loud. Happy Hour calamari and Nachos were delicious and reasonable. I enjoyed my stay.
Front desk was very friendly and very helpful. For a 32 year old hotel, it is maintained very well. It also had a really nice koi pond. Our food and drinks from the restaurant were also very good. Our only complaint would be the competence of the restaurant staff. I think they could use some more training. The girl at the host stand didnt even know what was on the menu. If bad service bothers you, there is an awesome Mexican restaurant down the street called Manuels. Great food and even better service there!
The wait staff were very friendly. The carnitas tacos were awesome. The renovation is very nice, updated. Not a fan of the fried calamari, as the breading mix was falling off of it.
The staff here are so helpful! I called in for reservation and Genesis was so wonderful helping me. She got me set up in no time.The location is great. Its close to gas stations and groceries. Got into ther hotel, checked in and the staff was so great too!. Got into my room and I was just blown how beautiful it is. The linens and towels are freshly clean. The staff asked me which floor I want to take, so I asked for first floor. And good thing I did, my room had a patio at the back and it was great to relax outside.Overall experience...GREAT!!!
Loved this place. Close to the beach. Clean rooms, safe play area for kids near the pool. We enjoyed -a continental breakfast in the conference room. The conference room Was perfect for a 20-30 people mixer.The staff is professional and courteous!!!
We chose here for the room service but when we asked the front desk they told us there wasnt any and looked at us like we were ridiculous. They also said no poolside service.When I tried to book a 3rd night they said I could only book 2 together because it was a weekend.
This inn has a fun Bohemian vibe. The complementary morning breakfast covers the basics, nothing extraordinary, but decent. The pool is heated which is wonderful even on a cold day. You can order drinks and food to the jacuzzi, they have happy hour specials. When I was there were lots of kids.
Great pool n hot tub with jets. The ambience was serene with a koi pond n a small fake waterfall near the restaurant. Rooms were very clean, microwave provided as soon as we requested it. Beds were nice n comfy too. The best part though was the breakfast- fresh fruit, hot oatmeal, fluffy waffles, scrambled eggs, the works. Great start to the day
We love staying at this hotel! It’s very pretty, the pool is nice & we love the poolside dining! They have a full hot breakfast included and not just the typical muffins/pastries/cereal you get at other places which is great. It’s super close to the beach and just a short drive to the boardwalk.
This hotel has been sold to a large merger and acquisitions chain. Unfortunately, the once reputation for quality service and great food at Severino’s has been tarnished with the poor decisions by upper management.Long term quality employees have either been released or have left due to the merger. What once was a friendly place has now turned into a shadow of its former self.I suggest you look at the slew of recent Yelp reviews. The booking industry hooks you in at a low rate then without notification, increase the nightly rate for Friday and Saturday to triple the fees without notice or discussion.When booking confirm dates and daily rate.The General Manager, Gatlynn Hicks is a nightmare to encounter and does not care about customer service, but just the bottom line and meeting quotas. Do not use third party booking services, go directly to another hotel that offers better service and honest rates.If you call the location direct they will tell you they are completely booked so they can sell rooms at triple rates to unsuspecting weekend travelers.
Dirty! Dirty! Drug parifinalia on the not vacuumed floor, vomit covered t-shirt in closet. No cleaning service for two days! No parking, supposed to have pool side room, got c- can equipment storage view. Opened refrigerator cabinet door and the refrigerator fell out on the floor. We are Best Western club members,; the worst hotel we have ever been at. Yuk!
This Best Western Sea Cliff Inn is surprisingly nice with great service and a fabulous breakfast. The grounds are gorgeous. They have a pool and hot tub. The breakfast is very plentiful with many options. Youre walking distance to the beach. This hotels very conveniently located right off the highway however I did not hear Highway noise. Plenty of parking. A great place to stay and visit all the nearby sites.
My friends wedding took place nearby and so she decided to ask everyone to stay at this hotel. We easily had over 50 rooms booked.My mother was in charge of all the flowers for the wedding, which was taking place on Saturday at 4pm. She asked the hotel 2 weeks in advance if she could arrive at noon to get the flowers in order and get ready herself. They told her there was nothing they could do and that check-in was at 3pm. My mother explained that it was for the wedding event and that the ceremony started at 4pm, not giving her enough time if she arrived at check-in. She was told that if she wanted she could arrive the day before, or arrive early in the morning but pay for an additional night.This was unacceptable as they didnt consider other options or try and accommodate the situation; they simply said no or pay an extra night. Easy to say we wont be staying in this hotel again even if were in the area for any reason.
Very nice hotel and staff. Very surprised at tge breakfast. This hotel has a dining room so there was a REALLY nice free breakfast buffet. Wait persons even came by to take dirty dishes away. Very nice grounds and pool. Definitely will stay here again if back in the area.
Nice hotel in a great location. The service received by the front desk staff was excellent. This hotel could use some updating, however. The rooms looked a bit dated and some items like the iron and ironing board were in sad shape. This hotel is in an excellent location - walking distance to the beach, Safeway, many restaurants, and other conveniences.
HHHMMM! It has very nice rooms. No microwave in room I stayed in. I was told later that I could of gotten one, if I had requested one. The shower/tub needed some bleach as it had mold between the tiles & the shower curtain smelled moldy when you showered. The tub had black areas,which looked like mold, as well. This is not the usual motel I stay at. The complimentary breakfast was okay.
A great hotel with a nice relaxing environment. Staff is excellent! Only negative is the heater was on a motion sensor. At night, had to stand up a few times to keep it going. Food in the restaurant is wonderful and the morning complimentary breakfast buffet was fantastic!
Location is very nice. Close to the beach. The staff is very courteous as well. Breakfast was delicious. Beautiful hotel. We do wish our room was a little cleaner, but overall a good experience.
Great rooms all with a balcony. Two levels but no elevator. Tropical atmosphere, heated pool with jacuzzi and a Resturant and bar. Friendly servers and great food with fair prices.
We appreciated this property as we were in the process of moving from the Santa Cruz area and so needed a convenient, clean, comfy place to stay in the process. The hotel could use some updating but the grounds and outside areas were really super nice. The buildings and public areas simply need some brightening. We have stayed at many Best Western Hotels the past few years and we can tell when some TLC is called for and this property would benefit from a face lift. The staff was presentable, helpful and easy to deal with....especially our check-in person. She took personal interest in our needs and assigned us a room we requested. Our stay was appreciated as it was offered at minimal points due to a special BW promotion. Carla
I loved my 6 nights at this hotel! The staff are friendly and skilled, the amenities are well-maintained and Work! Fabulous food, clean pool and hot tub. The location is great. Though it is next to the highway exit, you are un-aware of the freeway. Artful landscaping, plenty of parking. The location is in the heart of all kinds of amenities - 10 minutes from Santa Cruz, five blocks to the beach, 7 minutes from the beautiful valleys of Watsonville. Across the street from a full scale supermarket, gas, (and an excellent optometrist). Will definitely come again!
Clean enviting grounds...tropical japanese garden vibe. Loved the coy pond with a waterfall. Hotel restaurant/bar was very pleasant with good service. The beds and pillows made convinced us to stay 2 extra days.The beach was just up the street and the famous *Mariannes ice cream* was too.I will be returning very soon.
Went to Sevys for dinner. They finished the remodel. Looks good! Food was good. Nice server. The dining room needs to be warmed up a bit.
The suite was large & comfortable on the second floor plus a nice large balcony! On the Minus side of things, there were lots of webs around the outdoor lights with no shut off switch if the lights bother you... we just unscrewed them. The furniture was a bit dated with some staining but over all very comfortable environment. I really liked the grounds so pretty with a coy pond. Severinos Bar & Grill was fun with 2 free drink coupons for BW rewards members! The Band was rocken & the Warrior game was televised! Nice for the Hubby! The service was good we had dinner in the lounge. Food was Great! We really hated to leave the weather was gorgeous. The Best Western Seacliff Inn is on the pricey side for Best Western. I wasnt disappointed but the furniture in our suite should be updated to match the price point..
Very delighted with our accommodations. Lovely grounds, heated pool & hot tub. Walls are VERY THIN though. Only pitfall we had all 3 nights. Pretty koi pond with fish & super nice FREE, HOT breakfast. Will be recommending & we plan to be back again! 😁
Very nice rooms and restaurant on site. I found the weekend rates very high. Week day rates were nice for the quality. I can be very hard to turn left on to the main st when exiting.
While the walls are a bit thin, this place is fantastic. Service was good at the desk, the room wss comfortable and clean, and we had a great stay. Definitely planning to come back.Bed was a bit hard for me, but not old and busted or anything.
Last night I was given a room that was occupied and walked in on a naked guest. Today a coworker (we have 4 rooms total booked for a work trip) had someone walk in on her as we she was changing.I had to put the doorstop and a chair in front of the door
A resort setting in beautiful Aptos. California. We enjoyed the beautiful greenery and the sparkling pool. The Restaurant offered a delicious healthy breakfast and there was live music on the property. Amazing trip!
The restaurant is fantastic. The bar is too. The grounds are nice and well kept. Price is right and the rooms are fine. The shower heads are garbage, but everything else makes up for it.
Attended an event here this past weekend, had a blast. The staff were super helpful, the hotel was easy to find, and there was a lot of stuff to do. I wish I had brought my bathing suit, the pool looked great.
Comfortable, great customer service, and room decor/furnishings are a little dated, but clean and a good bed. would stay here again, although the walls were paper thin. We could hear every detail of our neighbors conversations and they were not being loud.
Great location but definitely needs some updating. Every time I showered, the shower head sprayed out the curtain and soaked the floor. I asked for it be repaired twice and it still had issues. Also, I had foot surgery and had a walking boot. There is no clear path to the restaurant from the building that doesnt take you either upstairs or through the street. Made for a longer journey and it was more difficult than necessary. Some small changes could make a huge difference there.
What a relief to find this place! Comfort inn in Santa Cruz messed up our reservation so we left that dump and found this place. Beautiful clean and manicured property with pool and jacuzzi. Best of all an amazing gourmet restaurant, Severins on site with outdoors seating by a koi pond and fountain. Highly recommended! The food and service at the restaurant were fantastic.
There is a bar/restaurant in the lobby that plays loud dance music until 11pm so prepare for loud, drunk people to return to their rooms shortly after. Finally asked the neighbors to be quiet about 1am. Only provided 3 bath towels for my family of 4. 2 of which had hair in them already. So did the spare blanket that was wrapped in the clean bag in the coat closet. The shower needs to be cleaned better, there is mildew on the grout. Not worth the nearly $300 they charged me. I will never be staying here again!
When we booked on priceline the confirmation email said check in at 3pm. We got there and the woman checking us in said they guarantee rooms are ready by 4pm not 3 and said I would have to wait. She was rude and gave no apology. Then when we got in our room. King suite second floor with hot tub. The hot tub water only teickels into the tub and you have to wait over an hour to fill the thing. Poor service and old rooms.The restaurant is great. Have gone back just for the food.
This is not a 3 star hotel. The only reason to stay here is the pool and maybe the breakfast (they always put food away 30 minutes early dont believe their info page youll be sorry if you roll in at 915). If you dont look like the typical rich tourist they will treat you differently. Be warned. The day I wore a Jersey, was followed by security. The day I wore a collared button up it was good morning sir!. It doesnt take a chemical engineer to tell the hot tub bacteria is at a level that is unsanitary, the sewage smell throughout the restaurant while youre trying to eat is a health code violation, and it doesnt take a rocket scientist to tell that the only reason people come back here is the proximity to the beach. Wouldnt let us upgrade because we booked through a 3rd party. Staff is rude, beds are terrible, rooms tiny. I would not have made a review if they had been professional and addressed our concerns and complaints. They did not. I will take it down if they do.
Three thumbs down! We called and made a reservation, they took our information and credit card over the phone and supplied us a confirmation number. We arrived at the location after being on the road all day to be told they didn’t have a room for us. We provided the confirmation number they said it didn’t matter. They didn’t have a room for us. The girl at the desk was not helpful, rude, and callous about the situation.In response.I called Best Western’s reservation number direct for the Sea Cliff Inn not a third party vendor or booking agent. Even if there were zero rooms available that doesn’t give your supervisor at the desk a right to be rude and unhelpful.
Stay here often. The beds are the best around. Ive stayed at every Hilton in the area and this is one of my favorites

2023-12-09 16:12:54We loved the little walk to the restaurant. Going over the bridge was special checking out the koi fish. Landscaping was trimmed so intricately. The restaurant had super delicious food & well sized portions. The beds were super comfortable, rooms were clean & quiet. Wed definitely come back in the near future. We also enjoyed some fruit infused ice water.Friendly staff

2023-11-02 23:13:15I wanted to love this inn, but service was spotty. We had to catch the housekeepers in the hall to get the trash collected and another time to get towels. We were there for 4 nights, sheets were never changed and we were not paying reduced prices. The body wash container was empty. No clock. We requested an extra chair and was told there were none available! Extra charge every day to park in a lot. No handicapped parking near our room. The room was clean and I felt safe. These comments do not apply to the restaurant on site.

2023-09-06 23:59:59Positive: Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and bar area was beautiful. The room was very spacious. We really enjoyed that the TV was updated and we could connect our Netflix streaming network. Negative: The bathroom sink in our room was broken. The water did not go down easily and would flood up the sink every time. We didnt find out until late at night when we were brushing our teeth, so it was too late to report it to the staff members.

2023-10-27 00:03:16I really wanted to love this place, but it just wasnt possible. We checked in and while putting our things away in the room found trash that not only indicated the room wasnt cleaned very well, it was pretty inappropriate for our children to see. The staff allowed us to move rooms, but the next room seemed to be cleaned about as well as the first. The restaurant is great and having the live band was fun, but the amount of overly intoxicated adults wandering around and smoking on the property was not. It felt more like a bar than a hotel restaurant by 8pm. On our last evening we ended up with security pounding on a door and screaming at a guest who apparently had their TV up too loud. The security was more disruptive than the loud TV and overall it just wasnt a great visit. It was more like a cheap motel than a boutique hotel and we wouldnt go back.

Overall I¿d stay there again it was a great value for being close to everything. They charge $10 a night for parking which I think is absolutely unnecessary and ridiculo

2023-07-25 15:50:07Warm and welcoming staff & location is right off PCH 1 which makes it easily accessible and so many nearby attractions.Arriving to our room we noticed the door wasn’t completely closed. The deadbolt lock was open to keep the door open… the room was completely cleaned and we assumed the housekeeper may have forgot to close it. Upon entering our room it smelled funky. The smell went away after few minutes of airing out the room but every time we entered our room it smelled…We needed towels and that took multiple requests to get. After waiting for over an hour we decided to walk around and find a housekeeper who were happy to give us extra towels.We noticed our carpet near the ac gets wet. If this is an ongoing problem it may have caused mold to grow and maybe that’s why it smells in our room.We also had a second room next to us for other family members and their room was perfect. I think I drew the short straw. But other than that it was a good stay with plenty of parking.Highlights: Restaurant/bar is pretty cool to check out for afternoon drinks. I was working remote so I enjoyed logging in and working outside in the patio (pictured of patio view).

2023-07-24 01:27:29I wanted to like the Seacliff Inn a lot more than was possible. It was nothing better than fine, and unfortunately not close to being worth the high price point that you pay for location and supply/demand. After we left we realized we were charged an additional parking fee for using their enormous private lot on site. For the price, you might as well just roll that into the exorbitant room rate.We were upgraded to a large suite, and it was nice to have a separate space for sleeping and living spaces. The room was not as clean as you would expect. There was a sticky blob on the coffee table, stains on the couch, the shower was not clean, and one bedside table had a coffee spill on the wall behind it and a previous guest’s lighter on the floor as well.Coincidentally, I only discovered the bedside flaws while reaching down behind the bedside table to plug my phone in, as there were insufficient, updated options for charging devices.The outdoor areas seemed pretty well cared for. We didn’t use the pool but sat by the koi pond at dinner. Restaurant service was fair and the food was the same; the best thing I can say is that it was easier than leaving to go out for dinner. Restaurant staff appeared super busy for the amount of diners, and it took over half our meal to get a heat lamp to be lit by our table.Checkout is 11am. Despite asking shortly after arrival and having guaranteed late checkout when possible, we were only given 30 minutes extra. Housekeeping also came knocking on the door at 8am regardless.I understand occupancy and turnover rate moves the wheel, but the vibe here was not welcoming or relaxed.

The location is also very convenient right at the entrance to the freeway and near some great restaurants and beaches. We enjoyed the lobby atmosphere with live music as well. However, for the high price, we were expecting better accommodations. The pool/hot tub was pretty murky. The fitness center was tiny and it was uncomfortable with more than 2 people. The room service is only upon request…which is more friendly to the environment. Although when we did need new towels it took multiple requests. There were also dirty plates and glasses left on the outside of the rooms (not from us) and despite seeing room service walk by multiple times it was left there. Our sink took multiple hours to drain which was a little bit gross to look at and makes me wonder how often the rooms are thoroughly cleaned/receive maintenance. Nothing was very “bad.” If the hotel were even 2/3s the price it is our review would be a bit higher. For a $1,000 long weekend we were expecting a bit higher quality in the rooms and amenities overall.

Room wasnt dirty per se, but I found hairs & the carpet was wet in several areas. Disposable water and coffee cups, powdered creamer. All of this is poor value for the very high room rate.
