Everything about dining here was perfect! The interior of the space is exceptionally elegant complete with white tablecloths, and homey design finishes. The service was attentive, and helpful. The food was sensational! We shared the tartare, scallops, and beet ravioli to begin. All of which I would recommend. I had a fillet for the main, along with sides of carrots and asparagus. The fillet was pure buttery goodness. For dessert, we shared the basque cheesecake, and the chocolate cake. There is an extensive wine list for the perfect accompaniment. I will definitely eat here again next time I am in town!

We decided to give Selanne a try for our anniversary and it was a great choice. Our server was Rafael and the service was excellent. My husband got the Lord Stanley cut (which is recommended for two, who doesnt like left overs?) it was delicious. I chose the wagyu filet which was also delicious. We had the scallop appetizer which I highly recommend the mushrooms that come with this dish make the dish. We loved everything we had. We will definitely be going back in the future.

What a charming place and with such great food. We were seated in a separate room from the extremely energetic main dining room, but it was lovely. It felt like we had the place to ourselves and with that didnt come a reduction in service.This place makes a mean dirty martini. The steak tartare was delightful, however you have to assemble it to your liking which can be challenging and freeing all at once. The scallops were delicate and delicious. And my filet was cooked to perfection and oh so tender. Also, dont skip out on the bread service - 3 spreads - each person in your party will have a favorite! And I almost forgot to rave about the risotto! My god - so good - maybe a little over salted.It was an amazing dinner - highly recommend next time youre in Laguna.

Clean, modern, dim lighting, with great food with adequate portions. Would definitely eat here again. I got Mary’s chicken breast. My husband ordered a rib eye with mashed potatoes. Restaurant offered a wide variety of cocktails but smoke and mirrors is what I sipped on. Also, we got to indulge in a little something called monkey bread dessert.

Honestly, it was a disappointing experience. We were sat at our table next to the bar, where a bunch of loud women were highly inebriated.We were told our servers name. He quickly showed up and introduced himself and brought us our water... And then we didnt see him for another 15-20 minutes.Im not exaggerating either. We were on our phones looking at other restaurants nearby when he finally came back.We ordered our food -- the bread appetizer (black pepper and thyme loaf), a ribeye for my father, the chefs cut (a picanha) for me, and the corn and mac and cheese as sides to share.The bread came out and we got our hopes up for the rest of the meal. It was delicious. It came with rosemary honey butter (yum), Mediterranean olive butter (my fave), and a tomato tapanade (also pretty good).Our food came a bit longer than was comfy after. The picanha was good -- meat was flavorful and cooked just right. My dads ribeye was... Ok. For a $72 ribeye, however, youd expect it to be better than ok. It looked slightly overcooked and seemed thinner than a normal prime cut of meat should be if that makes sense? It looked like something you could buy at a grocery store, and according to him the flavor was fine. I didnt try it but it looked like due to the thinness it was possibly overcooked (but then again Im not sure how youre supposed to cook a steak less than an inch thick to medium rare while also charring the edges)The corn side was our other highlight. It was very flavorful and buttery, and the corn was firm and tasty.The mac and cheese was a disappointment. I LOVE mac and cheese. like, an unreasonable amount. I order it as a side at every opportunity. This mac and cheese was just... Underwhelming I guess. Like it was fine but certainly nothing to write home about. It tasted like the chef heard that cream is the most important ingredient in mac and cheese, and then he forgot to add any flavor. The bread crumbs on top were not even present, flavor-wise, there was minimal cheese, and it just tasted like cream for the most part.I guess we should have known when we walked in for our reservation (which they charged $25 for, by the way, that was not comped on our bill) and there were multiple open tables when every other restaurant had lines out the door because it was 4th of July weekend.All in all, 3/10, would not recommend, food was edible but we had sides as leftovers and the ribeye was Texas Roadhouse quality. Picanha/chefs cut was pretty tasty, and the bread should not be missed if you do go. And service was... Not quite terrible (our water cups stayed full) but certainly not what Id expect from a $100 per person meal.

Beautiful restaurant right near the ocean and has interior that is very elegant. We tried many options of food on the menu and they were all delicious. The bartender also made some great drinks as we tried a few different ones.we had a great server who was very attentive and knowledgeable of all the drinks and food on the menu. Not a place that I would frequent because of the price but definitely one worth trying and it also involves one of my favourite hockey players so had to lol.

Absolutely convinced, the best steak anywhere in Orange County!I very much enjoyed both the food and staff at this place. The customer service was wonderful, I could tell that everyone genuinely enjoyed interacting with their guests. I can see why this place has such a loyal following.The food was good and I particularly enjoyed the skirt steak and wonderful sides. I started with the Scarlet Beet Ravioli, (Vegan Style) which was perfectly cooked and served with a delicious balsamic glaze. I also had the charred asparagus vegan style that was so delicious!My family ordered the chicken and the ribeye, and both dishes were cooked to their perfection. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the ribeye was cooked medium-rare and was so tender it melted in their mouths.In addition to the delicious food, Selanne Steak Tavern also has a great atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a historic 1934 home on Pacific Coast Highway, and it has a warm and inviting feel. The service was also excellent, and our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.It’s seriously the best place and I love everything about it!!There are private rooms for parties, plenty of room to host large events, there’s rooftop dining… it’s perfect!Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Selanne Steak Tavern. If there’s one thing I love about Newport Beach and it’s surrounding areas, is those little restaurants, although small and limited in space, but big on flavor. The food at this restaurant makes one wonder, what kind of genius is working in that kitchen? How could he or she, create a masterpiece even when it come to something as simple as butter (champagne butter and saffron butter to name a couple)?You must try their delicious bread and butter, which a warm delicious bread accompanied by three flavors of butter. But it doesn’t stop there, the mushroom soup was unlike anything you’ve ever tasted, for the main course, we ordered the fillet and the New York steak. They were both so tender that they melted in our mouths. We ordered side of their out of this world steamed young carrots with goat cheese. Even for those who hate goat cheese, this dish will change your mind.

This restaurant looks like a transitional steakhouse, We came here with high expectations because of such good reviews. But we came out with great disappointment.The best way to cut skirt steak is to always cut against the grain of the muscle fibers, as is the case with most cuts of steak. Look at the way they cut the skirt steak (check the picture), we would chew on it for hours and still cant swallow. Its like eating a cows hide. Some of the worst steak Ive ever had at this price point.We got Pacific Diver Scallops for appetizer, which was the best dish of the dinner.The Caesar in the picture is half, two pieces lettuce.$10 for a few bites.Wagyu A5 Filet Mignon was just okay, we dont feel satisfied enough.The worst is skirt steak definitely.Service was good, not much to say. Paid a healthy 28% for it.

An overall fantastic experience. Food is excellent, great steaks, and the mac and cheese side is unbelievable. Its Laguna beach so parking is always a challenge, if you have reservations make sure to give yourself extra time. Great location and the service was great, they even gave us a free side and a small dessert since it was our anniversary.

I wish I could give this place 41/2 stars. I would give five stars for the charm and the service and 4 stars for the food. The restaurant is extremely charming and has many different seating areas. If you want a more quiet and romantic area, you can ask to be seated upstairs or outside. If you’re looking for more of an upbeat atmosphere, you can ask to be seated by the bar in the main dining room area. For appetizers, we ordered the oysters, pink prawns, beef tartare, and a wedge salad. The oysters were excellent! The atomic horseradish is definitely atomic. The prawns were also delicious. The chips for the beef tartar was not substantial enough but the beef tartar was definitely tasty. The wedge salad came with a bacon foam that I was not a big fan of. The food presentation was beautiful. For dinner, we had the Sea bass, the dry aged ribeye, and a regular ribeye. For sides, we had the sautéed mushrooms, the brussel sprouts, and the truffle fries. The chef is heavy handed with the salt so if you don’t enjoy very well seasoned food, ask them to put less salt. We did not like the brussel sprouts. It had too much vinegar and just not a pleasant taste. The truffle fries were excellent and so were the mushrooms. For dessert we got the s’mores. It was delicious. All together we really enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful evening. The host bent over backwards to try to accommodate us And we really appreciated it.

The food is delicious, but the service... Eh. My husband called to make reservations for a special occasion. He specifically asked to be indoors, they said no problem. We arrive, were seated outside on a ramp walkway. A walkway!! Nothing like sitting slightly downhill/uphill from your food haha. I didnt mind the outside bit, it was nice out (didnt know he had specifically requested inside at the time though so I get his frustration). However, being level with your table seems like it should be a no brainer. Whatever, he planned a special meal so I didnt make a big deal about it, nothing like a little neck/back strain with your dinner. However, thinking about it, when you consider the cost, especially when youre ordering $180 steak, it does seem pretty silly. Maybe they gave our table to someone else and just slapped this table together, who knows. Server was great at the beginning, but after the appetizer, we only saw him every 25min or so. I think they may have sat too many people in his section so probably not entirely his fault. But definitely irritating to see tables next to us getting a significantly greater amount of attention from their waiter. Scallop dish was divine. Mac and cheese was good, but a little too rich in my opinion. Wagyu was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. So is the food great? Yes. Am I dying to go back? Meh, probably not.

Perfect spot for a special date night, anniversary, or celebration! This place is definitely worth every penny, from ambiance to culinary adventure. Next to Mozambique, it’s very easy to miss this restaurant. They did a fantastic job at creating a secluded, private environment on the busy coast of Laguna Beach. The cute cottage building, twinkling lights, and boxwood borders is something out of a fairytale! Matched with exceptional hospitality from the staff, it is truly a wine and dine experience.I have been to quite a few $$$ restaurants. So from my past experiences eating at expensive steak houses, I expected to pay an astronomical bill and leave hungry. This most definitely was not the case. Now, their portions aren’t necessarily family style but after three decadent courses, I couldn’t eat another bite if I tried. Don’t get my wrong, it was certainly pricey… but for special occasions, your money is best spent here.We started off the evening with a glass of Daou Cabernet Sauvignon and the Pacific Driver Scallops. The wine paired with everything we ordered, and the scallops were juicy and savory. For the main course we had the 14oz Ribeye and the Nordic Blu Salmon, with a side of Truffle Risotto. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the salmon was crispy on top and so buttery on the inside it practically melted in your mouth. Truly one of the best fish dishes I have had in a while. Just as we thought we couldn’t possible eat another bite, the dessert menu came. We decided on the Cinnamon Walnut Monkey Bread and a glass of the Smoke ‘n’ Fashion. From appetizers to desserts, Selanne Steak Taven knocks it out of the park! Can’t wait to spend my next celebratory meal here.

So very disappointed I’ve been here many times and on Wednesday night I took my girlfriend and her husband for their first visit, we sat at the bar and the bar staff were amazing we all had the wedge salad and my girlfriend and I had the burger (they used to have it on the bar menu) we both got very sick 🤢 so Thursday at 5pm I called and spoke to a lovely young lady who took my information and said she would have a manager call me I’m still waiting. Unless I get a call no more Selanne’s for me or my friends we move in a packI hope they read these reviews and the manager calls me and if the do I will write another review and update you all on the outcome,,,, stand by

Miguel our waiter was exceptional, very helpful warm and friendly.The food was actually very good, the mac and cheese is fantastic, as was the wagyu, scallops and oysters.So why only 1 star?Because from the moment we arrived, the host Andre was totally rude for absolutely no reason, followed by the manager Ansole (spelling?) harassing two of us and shouting at us to put masks on when we already were.Its totally fine to have a policy if you want, its another to speak to your customers like theyre misbehaving schoolchildren, instead of guests that literally pay your wages thru their custom.

Had the dry aged bone-in rib eye on my most recent visit. Fabulous! One of the best steaks Ive had. Teemu was sitting at the bar which is a nice bonus. Standard steak house fare with everything ordered a la carte. My vegan friend had a bit of a problem finding something to eat, which is not unusual at a steak house but a bit strange in this day and age. I visit 2-3 times per year since I enjoy Selannes so much.

This one star review has nothing to do with the food. The food was excellent and the service was great. The one star goes to the assistant manager who was wearing a white blazer tonight, 5/14/23. She was so incredibly rude to the hostess and it was really uncomfortable to witness. Once she saw there were guests present at the host stand, she immediately put on a fake smile. My mouth was still open from the shock of hearing her speak to an employee like that in front me and my family. I was seated outside and when I went back in to the restaurant to use the restroom, I again heard the assistant manager speaking and acting in a rude manner to the hostess. This was my first time at the restaurant and it really left a bad impression. I understand working in the service industry is stressful but no one deserves to be spoken to like that.

We rented the outdoor room for $11k for a party of just 16 people for a Covid wedding. They refused to put a vegetarian option on the menu. As an entree, they served the bride, a vegetarian, a bowl of pasta with tomato sauce. It looked like it was meant for a 10-year-old. It was pretty insulting! There was also a CA state ordinance in place to close at 11pm, but they didnt tell us beforehand. We had rented and paid for the space until 12am, and our party was definitely cut short. If we had known, we would have shifted the entire event to start earlier. Despite those major disappointments -- the space is beautiful and staff was super friendly.

I can never say enough about this restaurant! This was our 3rd year being there for Valentines Day. We ordered the Chateau Briand. It was arguably the best piece of meat I have ever had. Beautifully done and so tender you could cut it with a fork. Well, be back next year, God willing.

Not impressed. Me and my wife paid $92 each for a dry aged ribeye and it was not great. We where also surprised that they didnt give us steak knives to the meat. We got drinks (3 different ones) that was mediocre. The desserts we have was 5 stars, but when you ending up with paying $400 you expect way more.

We had a company event a Selanne Steak Tavern in November and it was incredible. The food, ambience and service (our server Steven) was amazing. They did such an incredible job that I made a reservation for my family last night. My expectations were exceeded. It was fabulous again and this time our server was Bonnie and she was amazing as well. I highly recommend you make a reservation. You wont regret it. I purchased a gift card at Christmas time for my sisters & myself. Weve waited since then for a day we were all available. Selanne is my favorite hockey player & the Ducks are my favorite team so I was really looking forward to going to his steak house. Unbeknownst to us we arrived after Sunday brunch & before dinner. We were only able to sit at the bar. When we asked to be seated at a table (in the bar) the bar tender said no because they were getting ready for dinner service. I was pissed, but hungry so we stayed. The food was amazingly delicious! The customer service/policywas greatly lacking. Im very disappointed in the overall experience.

We got scammed here by a waiter with an apparently put on English accent (the accent would come and go) who added items to our bill. He was very loud and self obsessed but would ignore any request I made throughout the evening. It was a business meeting so I wasn’t able to notify management of his behavior. The decor to the restaurant is very unique and romantic. The service was good, not the best I’ve received at higher end experiences. I read many reviews before coming and maybe that’s why my expectations were so high. For starters we ordered the farmers soup and the scallops(a signature dish), they weren’t bad but the scallops could have been hotter and maybe cooked for a little longer. As the main, we both ordered ribeye with corn, Mac and cheese, and their mash potatoes. I’d say their mash potatoes were fantastic. Corn was light and tasty. The mac and cheese was not anything the reviews set it up to be, I was unimpressed.In conclusion, this place is about ambiance and good food. Great for special occasions. To date, I have not heard back from anyone, so going to put this out there in case they actually do read reviews?The last time I was physically at the restaurant, we took a group of friends. It’s somehow always the worst experience when you bring people and rave about a place, I guess.My husband and I always ordered the same thing— a chicken and two sides (maybe a salad as well) to share. It’s the perfect amount of food, especially with a drink or two. When we ordered, our server said something along the lines of “have you had the chicken recently?” We thought that was an odd question, but said “Yes, we were just here a week or two ago.” Nothing else was said.Our friends got an appetizer and were a bit disappointed. When the server asked how it was, they were honest, but she just didn’t seem to care that much. To be honest, the entire experience just didn’t feel the same, like we were bothering our server just being seated in her section.It took a while to get drinks, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Drinks were so-so, some better than others.When our meal was set down in front of us, I was genuinely shocked and even made a joke about the rest of the plate missing. There were two small pieces of sliced chicken breast maybe each the size of a child’s palm. Not enough to feed a single person, definitely not enough to feed two. Going from a half chicken to this (and it costing more now?!) was definitely a bummer. It came with small pieces of vegetables that were randomly assorted across the giant plate. Nothing looked appetizing. I just don’t think the cost justifies what the customer gets anymore, to be honest. I understand costs are up for restaurants, but not even serving enough food is a bit offensive.Our friends weren’t overly thrilled with their plates either, I could tell they were trying to be nice but there was just a lot of picking going on. None of them finished their meals and none of them took the leftovers home, which is rare with this group.My last experience (at the end of December) was not in person, just over the phone. It was not great either. We had some family come in from overseas finally after 3 years. We had been talking about this “amazing restaurant” and how we would support them throughout the pandemic (being big ducks fans, supporting this restaurant made us feel like we were still supporting our team despite the shutdowns). They were very excited to go and I tried to make a reservation over a week in advance on a random Wednesday. When I called, the hostess seemed mad from hello. I asked if I could make a reservation for 7 people, and she immediately said no before I could even finish my sentence. When I asked if they were fully booked, she said no. I asked “is it just the party size that is the problem?” And she said yes. I responded saying “oh okay, would we be able to split up the group. We wouldn’t mind sitting separately if needed. We could do a reservation for 3 and another for 4.” She told me that they weren’t going to move tables around “just for us” because there were people who made reservations enough ahead of time and that wouldn’t be fair to them. I tried clarifying once more and apologized if I had been confusing and she STILL wouldn’t make the reservation, and honestly just made me feel like I was being super rude or something. It was just really off putting. We haven’t been back since and probably won’t be. “Our place” we went for special date nights, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, etc., where we took friends and family when we would get the chance, just isn’t the same anymore, which is sad.I get we’re only one couple and probably won’t affect them much. But I really think they could work on some issues they’re currently having so others have better experiences than we have had. It used to be so much better, I don’t know what’s changed. But, I hope they can go back to the way things were for their own sake.

The food was not very good. My halibut was over cooked and tough, and my asparagus was like eating bamboo shoots. There is a nice little tool used to shave off the stringy tough outside of the asparagus, I would drop one off for them....but I believe they probably would not use it. If they used smaller asparagus, they wouldnt have to even worry about it! I couldnt wait to try the Mac and cheese that Ive heard others rave about! Thr crowd is more on the older side but you dont go for that reason (I hope). You go for their delicious steaks and sides and the one and only Smoky old fashion.You will not be disappointed if you get this drink and are a whisky fan. The parking situation can be tough but if you drive to the backside (parallel street) there are a few more spots. Street parking is the other option. I know great food. And this place does NOT have great food. The food is OK. But anyone who gave this restaurant 5 stars doesnt know great food. I had to wait a good 10 minutes to get a replacement napkin after I requested it. He did check in here and there but seemed to have too many tables. Seemed rushed. It was a little louder than normal for this level of steak house but possibly because we were seated right next to the bar. You must get their signature Mac and cheese if you like comfort food, it was to die for. Great first time experience. It wont be our last! While the dining area is nice and cozy, there was a basketball game on the nicely sized TV and music from the 80s playing at the same time. It seemed like the owners wanted to do it all at this establishment.The appetizers were good (oysters, shrimp and buratta) and steaks (filets and wagyu skirt steak) were great, except for the fact that they were prepared rare instead of medium rare as ordered. They were sent back to the kitchen, but there is always that awkward waiting time for the food to be returned while others are enjoying their fish. Nice place. Their food is very good. Love the market fresh soup (changes frequently). The only flaw that I experienced recently is that they are not child friendly. Took my 4 month old and there was no place to change him. I literally had to change him on a bench outside.

Ive been coming here once a year for my birthday for the past 4 years. While their steaks are great, its the sides that really got me hooked. Especially their truffle Mac and Cheese! Their drinks have been good too.Not that this is the norm, but one year just happened to be the same night that the 2007 Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks had a reunion party in the bar area. The Con Smythe trophy was there, and all the players I remembered watching as I was growing up. As a big Ducks fan, thats not a bad bonus, right?!

We had reservations at 5 pm for 4 on a fairly hot day. Parking was difficult to find. We parked on the street and when we walked in saw a small sign for valet. Upon arrival, the hostess wanted to seat us on the patio – which is fine for casual dining but it was warm and you could hear the traffic on PCH so I asked to be seated inside. The hostess accommodated our request. The inside is very nicely decorated and it looked like there were tables throughout but the main seating area was around the bar with very large televisions. About a half hour into dinner, the bar started to fill up giving it more of a sports bar feel. For the prices on the menu, I felt this was not a top notch dining experience. Each entrée was served alone with side dishes costing $10 -$12 each. The bread served before the meal was excellent. We ordered Lord Stanley’s Cut and shared it between 3. The filet mignon was good. We ordered desert. The presentation was excellent. We had read about the monkey bread and were looking forward to it. It tasted pretty much like the bread that was served before dinner which was good as a starter but not as a dessert. Overall, this restaurant was fun to try. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

This was our second time at Sellanes. We ate on their covered patio for our anniversary celebration.COVID-19 precautions were followed, though our table was a tad too close to the adjacent table.The food and service were both exemplary. Based on the reviews and a few friends that had been here, I had high expectations. On the waiters recommendation, I went with the Wagyu skirt steak. To be honest for a $50 steak, it was just kind of meh, I was not impressed. It was kind of plain and the cut was just mediocre. I also ordered the squash which was amazing and I had the mushrooms which were also good. I ended up taking most of the steak home but it just went to waste sitting in my fridge. The ambiance was just OK - kind of more like a sports bar than a steakhouse. The Laker game was on, so there was that going for them. There is no dress code here, some scrub was at the bar in his hoodie and flip flops. I think this place is honestly just a little over-hyped.

One of the best restaurants you will find in Laguna Beach. Incredible food, great staff and warm, modern interior that fits in the the surroundings. Owned by hockey legend Teemu Selanne so it has some hockey memorabilia in a small corner, but it isnt a theme of the place by any means.All of the steaks are of premium quality, as are the drinks. Its expensive, but worth it to treat yourself once in a while.

We drove round and round the streets to find the valet parking. We were seated immediately having had reservations. But our wooden seats were very uncomfortable and looking around we noticed comfortable fabric seats all around us. Our waiters accent was almost too difficult to understand him. My rib eye was not as I expected for $50+ dollars, almost too tough to chew. The brussel sprouts side was good though. Would probably not visit again.

I would definitely go back but get the steak medium instead because medium rare here was more red than i’m used to. Also the dessert was ok, so I’ll pass on dessert next time.

Its really good and the service was fabulous and it is a quiet and beautiful place. I had a rib eye and it was large and super tasty but not very tender. Expensive like right there with Mortons or Ruth Chris. I think the rib eye at Lumberyard is better. Vegtables and side dishes were superb. Probably will go again as it was a great experience.

4.5 stars.One of the best steakhouses in Orange County. Smaller menu but most of the items are well executed.the mushroom soup was tasty, like a lobster bisque but with mushrooms instead. The shrimp appetizer was delicious, tasted like a Puerto Nuevo style lobster. Scallops were sweet and cooked perfectly. I ordered the lobster this time and it was delicious but maybe not everyones cup of tea. Made with Ritz crackers and a fondue sauce. The steaks are excellent though and Ive ordered them previously but wanted to try something new.side dishes are good, Id recommend the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and mushrooms. Our cocktails were served with a metal straw, which gave the special drinks a tasty crispness. The macaroni and cheese, the oysters, and the sautéed mushrooms melted in our mouths. Then the steaks - WOW! - all perfectly seasoned and prepared. The meal was perfect! I would also like to thank our server, Athena, for her attention to detail. Service was good but the meal was a disappointment.My brother and I ordered Lord Stanleys Cut, a 32 oz. bone in ribeye, their signature dish. The price was $110. We also ordered asparagus, mushroom, and mac & cheese side dishes.The steak was cooked well enough but was very fatty. I appreciate marbling but it was too much. The asparagus was thin, limp, overcooked and greasy. The mac & cheese was ok but it is mac & cheese.With a decent bottle of Groth cab, a couple of appetizers and small dessert the bill was $530 including a decent tip.

If you are a hardcore steak person, you will be disappointed by this place. The awesome location and decor will distract you from the mediocre sourcing and preparation of the steaks. I love Teemu and have been a Ducks fan since their inception, but sorry the restaurant does not cut it for steaks. Its called a steak tavern but unfortunately they do not prepare their namesake dishes expertly. The prime portion of the menu has regular prime steaks, and were pretty standard. The filet was ordered medium-rare, but came rare+, not a big deal. I wanted to test out their wagyu menu, so I naturally ordered the leanest cut (flat iron) of wagyu they had, because with real wagyu even a chuck steak or a london broil cut will be highly marbled and soft. The wagyu steak was not marbled at all. I should have known, because only a few domestic or Australian wagyu producers actually produce a highly marbled beef. Most are fake, and its better to just stick with real Japanese suppliers. Selanne wagyu is either fake or just low quality. I looked at the lord Stanley ribeye wagyu at it looked barely marbled, Im glad we didnt order that. Other high end steakhouses have a tomahawk ribeye for less. The steaks were not seared to make a nice crust. Not at all, even though the server said so. No crust. Bottom line: I can grill a better steak at home, probably you can too. Sides were meh, including the so called special mac & cheese.The good things about this place: Scallops were excellent and perfectly cooked. Service was perfect. Ambiance was elegant. Would not recommend for steaks, but maybe just for drinks or dessert. Overall as a steakhouse, well below top-tier (Mastros, Cut, etc) in quality. Even below Capital Grill and Flemings. This is a 3rd tier steakhouse masquerading as top tier.

Wonderful place for a special occasion dinner. It us pricey, but the food was very good, wait staff friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself is a well maintained converted cottage. In fact, it used to be called The Cottage before Selannes took over. Traffic getting there is awful, especially on the summer, so leave yourself plenty if time. And if you have ever wanted to put an Olympic medal around your neck, this is a place to do it. As soon as you stop to admire the dudplay, a manager pops up with a key and offers the chance to wear one of two hockey medals on dusplay.

I really like this Steakhouse. Its trendy with nice decorations. It isnt too big so it feels somewhat cozy. It has outside and rooftop seating. While waiting for our food, they served us cracked Black pepper mini loaf of bread with tepabade spread. Hats was yummy. For dinner I ordered the Black Bass, it was pan fried and they served it with Beluga Lentils. Its a bit smaller than regular lentils. They have a good selection of Wagyu steak so my husband ordered the Wagyu Skirt Steak. We ordered a couple of side dishes too to share, Creamy Risotto and grilled Broccolini. Overall a good experience.

Went today for the resturants first serving of brunch. If you have been here before yoi know the service is top notch and the brunch service was on par. We had the bourbon pecan sticky bun, a monte cristo sandwich and the brunch burger. The food was excellent as usual, compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff. Seeing Teemu there was cool too being a Ducks fan. This was a good way to celebrate our anniversary and start to another Ducks playoffs. Lets go Ducks!

The atmosphere was great, well done with the decor. The service was good except for when the server convinced me to get the Lord Stanley instead of the two filet mignon I was going to order. He convinced me that the meat portion would be the equivalent with not too much fat. I know whats a good ribeye, I know theres fat and marbleized fat. If you could have seen the picture that my wife had taken when it came out, my face says it all! First off, the bone was bigger than the plate, I kid you not there was a total of 8 bite-size pieces of steak. The fat alone was crazy, I could not believe how much fat there was!! Just to remind everyone its $110 for the Lord Stanley . Very disappointing, as a fan to Selanne and hockey, I would not call this the Lord Stanley ! Two weeks later it was still on my mind...
