Amazing Korean food! We eat gluten free and mainly plant-based, and we easily found food to eat here. We did splurge and put an egg on our dishes tonight ;). We had the mushroom soon tofu and hot stone veggie bibimbap. The service was very fast, the food was very very affordable and it was really delicious, including the veggie sides that came with our meal. We will definitely return here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for good Korean food in the Westside.

I love their food. Period.I used to work as a waitress in a korean bbq restaurant so I know how Korean good is supposed to taste. This place is awesome.My only issue is that it’s not kid friendly. Every time i go there i have to pick up some sushi next door to feed him.

We randomly stopped by this place. The tofu soup is surprisingly good in terms of both flavors and texture; the tofu is buttery soft but not mushy like at many other places we’ve tried.A bit pricy for regular dining but it’s good once in a while.

Ordered their assorted soon tofu and it was perfect if you want some of everything. They were really giving in their ingredients and the side dishes were really refreshing for a change in flavor.The portion size of the Soon Tofu by itself should be enough for one if you’re not feeling extremely hungry and just relatively hungry.Highly recommend for a cold day or just a day when you want to enjoy some soothing foods. At a good price point, too.

I was satisfied with my meal at Seoul Tofu. The portions were large and the diversity of flavors was awesome! That said, the price could make you reconsider going here regularly.Today I ordered the Spicy BBQ Chicken combo with a beef dumpling soup. It ended up being more then enough food, and came with traditional Korean BBQ sides like kimchi, sprouts, potato salad and marinated tofu. The chicken was tasty, but lacked and spice. The dumpling soup was also very flavorful, but I regret getting medium after reading a review saying anything over medium would be too spicy.Overall this is a good spot if you like trying a variety of delicious flavors. Just be warned you will spend upwards of $30 per person.

Nothing quite like returning to Los Angeles for a visit to Sawtelle and enjoying the tofu soup at Seoul Tofu. We so appreciate the many options especially for vegetarians. The soup and sides are delicious. The service is efficient and good. We went during the week, early evening. In the past I know that they can get very busy but do their best to keep it orderly and moving.

We came in the afternoon and it wasnt super crowded. Pretty good prices for the amount and quality of food. I got the BBQ Chicken combo with the miso tofu soon and both came steaming fresh off the stove.Something to keep in mind is that the combo has slightly smaller servings of each (which makes sense given the pricing) so if you have your heart set on a single dish, its probably better to order on its own. However, even as someone who isnt a big tofu or soup fan, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend trying it out!

We had beef Kalbi and a vegetable soon tofu, both were very delicious and authentic! I would have liked a bit more tofu in the soon tofu pot. The banchan was delicious and generous, giving us a good balance. Would definitely recommend and go back!Service was also quick and courteous, thumbs up!It’s a popular spot at night so parking was supervised which is a good thing to ensure customers get a spot.

This place is AMAZING!!!! Let’s start with service, it’s fast, friendly and in my case patient they take their time to make sure you’re enjoying your food and they ask you if you need more side dishes rather than waiting to be asked. Now to the most important part, food flavor, this place is truly delicious their Tofu Soon is absolutely delicious and true to the spice level, their combos are very generous and with a great selection. Finally the Seafood pancake is absolutely delicious a perfect blend of vegetables and seafood in a delicious egg pancake. Highly recommend and if the wait is long it is worth the wait.

Hands down the best Soon Tofu I’ve ever had. I ordered the Seafood Soon Tofu with medium spice. The soup was tasty, and had a nice, deep flavor. They were generous with the tofu and seafood. The banchan was equally delicious with my favorite being the potato salad and the fish cakes.In terms of the service, we were seated quickly and our food was served fairly quick.Overall, had a satisfying meal and will definitely return!

I was craving some Korean tofu soup and came across this place on google maps. What a great find! My party of two shared a combo and it was enough for the both of us (however we dont eat a lot xD, so it probably wont be enough for most parties of 2) and everything was delicious. Ban-chan was a very small selection and only had the essentials - kimchi, sweet mashed potatoes, broccoli, bean sprouts, fish cakes, and pickled radish. It was a little off putting that a good amount of the dishes were made of styrofoam such as the dishes with the banchan and the drink glasses, guess times are getting tough lol. I can overlook that as the food was delicious and service was good. The combo we got was the Galbi and miso soup combo and it came with a bowl of rice, cant go wrong with that one. Food game sizzling and boiling as it should.

I absolutely love this place. Every time I’m in the area this is my go to spot. Even if I’m within an hour distance drive, I will make the trip to come here. My go to is the spicy pork bulgogi. The staff is nice. The food is consistently good. The restaurant is clean. The free mash potatoes that comes with your meal is so delicious. Cannot recommended enough.

Looking for some delicious Korean soup near Ucla and I found this place. It is only 10 minutes away and I highly recommend it. It is located in a strip mall that has several other Asian restaurants, Chinese, Japanese Filipino Boba tea, gift shop. It’s around the neighborhood also appears to have many Asian restaurants that are serving LA localsVibe: Modern, clean and quiet, lots of LA locals and Asians that look like they know how to order. Attentive service.Food: it appears that the specialties here are Bibibop and soft tofu soup. I love softer for soup, and I selected medium spicy tofu soup with a mixture of seafood and meat. The soup had a nice combination of calamari, muscles, shrimp, beef and pork and healthy dosage of soft tofu. The broth was boiling hot, and when I asked for medium spicy, it was exactly that.Service friendly, not very talkative and efficient. I think there was one waiter for the 30 tables but he made sure the water and the Ban Chan was out immediately and brought me my soup as soon as available. I can imagine that during a busier time, there’s a line out the door, but when I was there, I could select any table I wanted.

We were two people and we ordered the Hot Stone Bibimbap combo with Soon tofu and dumpling as our combo option. We were stuffed full by the end of our meal. We asked for the food to be made spicy and it indeed was spicy (the good well-rounded kind of spicy and not just chilly pepper spicy). It warmed us up pretty well.Would definitely love to visit this place again if I am in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.

I ordered the hot stone bimbibap combo and it was pretty good! My favorite part was the soup. We got spicy and it was just the right amount of spice.The bimbibap was good as were all the side dishes.I docked a star for the seafood pancake because I liked it but wouldn’t order it again as it was pretty greasy and more flour-y/bread-y tasting than I’d like.They have outdoor seating as well.

Love this place, Love the food. The combos are a bit pricey but you do get a lot in return. Would recommend to everyone. Do note that if you are going there at dinner time be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes plus. On Busy days the wait can go up to an hour. Regardless, this is one of our favourite Korean restaurants we visit with our wife.

Ate here last night and had wish I didn’t waste my time and especially my money. How this place got such good reviews is beyond me.My wife and I had the chicken Bibimbap and my step daughter had the Bulgogi combo. The Bibimbap bowl had zero flavor and was like eating overcooked rice with undercooked vegetables and dark fatty chicken.The waiter dropped off the food and never came back. When the lady asked if we liked the food while dropping the bill to the table she didn’t even wait for a response before leaving.Overall, very disappointed!!

If youre not familiar with soon tofu, its a traditional soup that can be made with kimchi, lots of gochujang spice, add meat or fish, dumplings and often a cracked egg. Not the only thing they serve here, Bim Bim bap, also japchae noodles. BonChon are served with entrees, potato salad, sprouts, broccoli, fish cakes, kimchi.

Best Korean tofu soup in West LA. Not as good as BCD, but you dont have to deal with 1+ hr of traffic to have this soup. There is a parking lot that is usually self parking during lunch, but converts to valet only for dinner; street parking is a bit of a challenge, but DO NOT PARK IN RESIDENTIAL (permit required, you will get ticketed).

There prices increased but I can accept that because the food here is actually really good but Im docking a couple stars for other reasons.#1 - they do not do stone pot rice which is usually standard with soon tofu restaurant. They used to, I dunno why they stopped.#2 - they charge $1 per Togo soup container.. I never heard of anyone ever charging for togo container. I know $1 isnt much.. but its just a weird feeling to be charged for something like that.

One of my favorite spots for soondubu! Sometimes if the line is super long, I go down the street to Tofuya, which is equally as good (and usually has japchae in their banchan!)Since COVID they changed their sides and rice to come in styrofoam containers. Service is always a problem here as lunch rush spikes demand. Food is good. Been there 4-5 times weekday lunches. Getting a second round of sides could be difficult as wait crews circle but forget. Prices are decent relative to the surround. Usually just park upfront and paid the tip. Parking is meant to be complimentary if you patronize the shops in that plaza. The combos are pricey. Stick with just the soup. Oyster order you get 3 pieces of such. Veggi dumpling is available but not sure if its kosher.

This place doesnt disappoint. And, its not too pricey. The line isnt very long either whenever I choose to come here. Ive come here with coworkers and friends. I always get a tofu soup. Last time I came here, I got the assorted tofu soup, which came with the rice. It filled me up. The small plates were also great too. Its vegetarian friendly to the point where they see youre ordering vegetarian, they will help you out with the sides to let you know what is and isnt friendly to your diet. This place used to be really good then it kind of went downhill. The rice they give you for the combo in the stonepot is not real - they scoop in rice and it doesnt even get crispy. This place is great, and is my go-to restaurant on Sawtelle. I recommend getting one of their combos, which includes their amazing tofu soup. I like the Spicy BBQ Chicken (ask them to cood-in the onions, its much better this way) and the Veggie Dumpling Tofu. You also get a great selectiono of free side orders, like kimchee, bean sprouts, veggies, potato salad, etc. (and they offer free refills on these too!).FYI for first-timers, they bring you a raw egg to break open into your hot tofu soup, which cooks the egg in a matter of minutes (the soup is way to hot to eat when they bring it out).Parking on Sawtelle can be an issue. There is metered street parking, or free parking on the side streets. This shopping center has valet parking, if you want it.Service here is great, and prices are very reasonable for what you get. Food quality is excellent. The only downside here is that they charge extra for brown rice.

As a college student, one of the best things I like about this place is that it is close proximity. Yes, there is another soondubu restaurant called Tofuya, but after trying both I have to say that Seoul Tofu is much better.Seoul first off looks much cleaner. The service is a lot friendlier and nicer. Also, the side dishes are better here than at Tofuya.As a big fan of soondubu, Ive come here many times. We usually get seated quickly and given water in containers, which is nice because we dont have to bother the waiters for refills. I usually order the beef dumpling tofu soup, extra spicy. When I used to order this, the spiciest level was perfect, but lately Ive noticed they dont make I as spicy as they used to. (Reason for only 4 stars.) On the plus side, waiters fill the side dishes often when you ask for and I always get a thank you when leaving the restaurant.All in all, I probably will be a loyal customer for a long time.

I usually come here, and its normally great, but todays service was terrible. Our female server, whom i assume was Charlotte(kind of young asian girl with her hair up in a ponytail) because thats what was on our receipt. She lied to us as a customer and to her coworkers. First when we asked why our rice wasnt served in the stone pot like usual, she just gave an abrupt we ran out. No more. We later found out from another server who informed us that they actually stopped serving stone pot rice after a certain time. It may not seem like a big deal, but being lied to is a very bad feeling. Then when we asked for more banchan, the guy who so kindly brought it for us explained that they actually had last call for banchan already, but that he will still get it for us anyways. She had lied to them saying she had come to our table to ask for last call when she did nothing like that. Her attitude and service was far below the standards of this establishment, and either need new training or her employment should be reconsidered. The other servers were very helpful with getting things straightened out, but i had to speak out about this experience This review will remain here until changes have been observed to be made. On a side note, food was great as always.

The Kim Chi is good, but some of the other Banchan seems to have far too much sugar. The prices are West LA high with a meal running nearly $25/person without drinks.
