Got off the freeway on a road trip to go to a nearby burger place. Burger place had limited inside seating, all taken, and it was too cold to eat outside. We drove through the shopping center and picked this restaurant. Service was quick and efficient. Atmosphere was a little boring. Clean and neat, but seating is only along the walls, so theres just a big open space in the middle. The food was really good though. My husband and I shared a Won Ton Soup (2 person portion) and a Chicken with Cashew entree and each got a side order of rice. The soup was great, lots of veggies, plus chicken, pork, and shrimp in it. The broth was a lot richer than other places I had it. The cashew chicken was excellent as well. Also, the only cost difference vs the burger meals was only about $2-3 per person. Well worth it to sit in comfort with full service and a much healthier meal.Well definitely keep them in mind for a meal if were in the area again.

Mongolian beef, orange chicken, fried rice, beef and broccoli were very good. Ordered takeout for our Thanksgiving dinner, good sized portions and everyone enjoyed the food.

Did not have a great experience here at Sesame Garden. Came in as a group, staff was friendly at first, helped us get our party seated. We attempted to order the beef crispy noodle, she explained to us that the crispy noodle is not what it normally is and recommended the soft noodle, which we ended up ordering. I ordered the pork crispy noodle, and she again explained that the crispy noodle dish is different, and after acknowledging that I did still want to order it the waitress got upset and told us that most people get other dishes like orange chicken and soup, and that it must be our first time at the restaurant.If you don’t want people ordering items from the menu, you should consider removing them. The quality of the food was okay, however it did not outweigh the experience in the restaurant so I give this 2 stars.

Finally found a decent Chinese Hong Kong style restaurant in Camarillo where the food is comparable to NYC Chinese food. I loved the pan fried crispy noodles! Will be back to try the other dishes!

Ive been to many Chinese restaurants in my life and Sesame Garden is definitely one of the best. Not that price is all that important ( as long as food is good) but they definitely have the best prices here in Camarillo..especially the lunch specials and those are big portions. I have dined in many times but have made countless amount of to-go orders..Im normally on a special diet so theres never any problem with my special requests.They have by far the best wor wonton soup..most places are mostly broth but they definitely load theirs up with meat veggies and wontons..but my special diet tries to avoid carbs so I always ask for 1 wonton in each container but its still loaded with everything else.The lady that works there always takes care of my special orders. Ive loved every dish that Ive tried but my favorite is their hot braised shrimp and Kung poa 3 flavor( minus the mushrooms)

Great food quick service and friendly staffgreen beans super fresh and wonderfully prepared.although they are hot and braised they will prepare any way you wish.

Terrible experience! Customer service was trash. Did not feel welcomed with my 3 year old daughter to eat at this establishment. We walked in and the lady at the counter asked if we had a take out order and I told her no we were dining in. From that point her attitude completely changed as if we shouldn’t be eating there and very rudely said sit anywhere. Our waiter came to take our drink order and asked if we wanted water I told her no I would take a coke instead and she got aggravated and did not even ask if my daughter would have anything to drink and just walked away. Not kid friendly! Very rude people. Would not recommend!

If you want authentic, high-quality Chinese food in Ventura County, Sesame Garden is the place to go. My Beijing-born family and I discovered this wonderful little place not long after moving back from China in 2013, and rarely does a week go by when we are not coming in for our favorites.Our list of favorites is long and varied. Their mu-shu dishes are superior, the right amounts of sauces and flavors. The Kung Pao - we order either the Kung Pao Chicken or Kung Pao Tofu - is out of this world, and theyll dial the spiciness up or down based on your preferences.They have a pepper-salt fish with sliced jalapenos that is so light and tasty you could eat the whole dish without stopping. They do eggplant like nobody else we have found. And the Beef Noodle Soup? Oh, my Lord - the best winter day warm-up ever.Some things to know that make them extra special:- They do not use msg that we have been able to detect. My wife is very sensitive to it and has walked out of many other Chinese restaurants in the area with a headache as a result. Never at Sesame Garden.- Many Chinese restaurants are unimaginative with sauces, so nearly every dish tastes the same. Sesame Garden makes their own sauces for each dish, and each dish is a labor of love for the chef. Ask for their spicy mustard sauce to dip an egg roll into. WOW!- This is literally a mom-and-pop operation. She handles the front, he oversees the kitchen.- As authentic as this place is, the chef does like to experiment with local flavors, hence the jalapenos in the pepper-salt fish. The inclusions are creative, not pandering, and you will love it.We cook Chinese food at home, but coming here is such a treat we just cant resist. We like a lot of restaurants, but only a 4-5 get marked as our happy places. This is one of our happy places.

Very authentic food. Delicious. Everything was ready for me when I got there to pick it up. The hostess was kind enough to show me all the dishes I ordered and where they were to make sure I had my complete order. Very friendly service. Will definitely go back again!
