If you want to experience Korean food, go right now. You will never regret it. The taste is natural and the atmosphere and prices are also very good. If anyone needs a special event I recommend this place. You can be recognized by your friends. I think watermelon soju will be the best memory I have ever experienced.

As Korean, this place is ok but not authentic. Medium is too bland and all you can taste is only rich soup. They don’t really use aged paste that makes deep spicy taste. Banchan was ok but tofu stew by itself is too mediocre.

Soontofu is good. There were plenty tofu and beef inside. I like big plate.The side dish is also very good. Almost the best I ever had in Bay Area. Not like they offer 10 plates but each of them taste yummy

People working there were polite and kind. I ordered Seafood Tofu without Oyster, and they made it accordingly. It is a small place but they might have more tables in the back. At first, I smelled cigarette as some people outside was standing and smoking but eventually, they were gone.

This Tofu House is the best in San Jose. They totally dont skimp on quality ingredients. My family really enjoyed the delicious food here, with was appetizing and satiating. The service girls are also very attentive and nice. This is in contrast to Kong Tofu in Cupertino...Their veggie tofu soup is great and so is the Japanese sodas. We ordered mango and melon.1 thing to improve is to put the sweet potatoes at the appetizer as well!

We love their food so much! During the pandemic we made sure to buy from them because we love them a lot and then had a baby so we didnt go out as much but finally could take out extended family there last week and it was just as wonderful as we remember :) the food is so delicious (I always get the soft tofu dishes, this last time was kimchi beef) and our family thought so too! Now that our son is older well likely go more often again!

Great Korean tofu soup house. It does get busy so would not recommend for 5 or more since seating is limited. Wait is much less for 2 people. Staff is very responsive and also provided hot tea while waiting outside.

Theres several SGDTH in the area, but this location is my favorite because of the super friendly staff. The fish roe tofu soup is our usual go-to, but during the summer season, Im a fan of the cold noodles - super flavorful and refreshing!

Great service and friendly atmosphere. Next to a chinese supermarket.Tofu soup is $15.95, which is a little bit pricy. I ordered combination flavor, with beef, many clamps and three shrimps. The appetizers are free and tasty, and can be refilled.

First, food is ok. But very sweet. Issue is service. If you want to have food, go ahead. But you expect services, sorry no service after food delivered. Actually we asked other side dish 3 times with 3 different waitresses, then they just said “yes”. But word only. Then as photo, we asked refill dishes. Then again said yes. But again word only. After we finished dinner, and I was mad of service ( they bring food cart with hot soup to my back several times without any excuse or mention), then said that you need more side dishes? Kidding me? I finished eating already. Conclusion: there is no difference between togo or in hall. But you have to pay tip even no service at all. Very disappointed.

Great restaurant for soft tofu stew! The banchan really makes the main dishes shine while also tasting absolutely great on their own. They will happily refill your side dishes upon request. The owner is very sweet and absolutely made me feel at home.

The staff was extremely unfriendly and rude. No one is at the door for service, and the staff ajuma yelled at me when I wanted to ask about my pick up order. She made me just standing there for a long time without approaching or asking what I need.

This has probably been the best Tofu House in the South Bay. The food was prepared very well and the service was very good even when they get very busy. The servers were also attentive at giving more banchan when we were running low. We are starting to become regulars here because of the combination of good food and great service.

Authentic delicious Korean food. Highly recommended!First hint that we are in for some good Korean food is when we hear Korean words spoken when we step into the restaurant.Ordered a Kim Chi Tofu Stew with Pork and a BBQ Beef. Shortly after placing our orders, we were served the Korean appetizers. Absolutely love the small side dishes, a little of everything and definitely whet your appetite. They serve free flow tea which is awesome too.The Kim Chi Soup was super good, we went for medium spicy, the taste was so good. The tofu were so soft and well infused with the Kim chi taste. Every mouth of that was just so comforting and good. Needless to say, we slurp the bowl clean.The BBQ Beef portion was relatively huge, despite so, every single slice was thoroughly marinated. They were well cooked and moist. Every bite was so delightful!Totally recommend this place! One of my favorite Korean food joint!

They have my favorite side dishes of any Korean restaurant I have tried, especially the Japchae and fish cake. I order the tofu soup with mixed wild mushrooms and add ramen noodles to it. Its the best!

Overall pretty good. easy to order online and ready in 15 minutes. $20 for some soup is a bit crazy, but it comes with all of your banchan sides: rice, kimchi, fish cakes, cucumbers. the mushroom tofu soup i got was very good but i had specified vegetarian and they still gave me fish cakes so that was a bummer.

Authentic, hot and delicious. Also expensive. We ordered BBQ for 2 ($45), and 3 additional dishes (ranging from $10-$20 each) for a group of 5. The bill was over $100 and we didnt even order drinks.They offer a wide variety of side dishes, more than most Korean restaurants weve been to (and my wife has been to a lot...).We had a 10 minute wait outside for seating, and they took our order before we even sat down. A little strange, but it worked out well.

My favorite tofu soup place in the area. The spice level is pretty accurate and flavor is moreish. Their banchan has strong flavors and good portions because they do free refills! Their hot tea is also very nice and clean tasting. Noncaffeinated. Perfect pairing! You dont go there for the service. I go there for the homey food.

Very good seafood tofu soup. Generous helpings of side dishes and the restaurant is all to willing to provide more. Typically not super crowded even on weekends. Just your friendly basic Korean restaurant. Its our typical go to for Korean food when we feel like tofu soup.

Seriously, they have the best banchan (side dishes) there are only a few but each one is seasoned really well and so delicious. So gong dong tofu restaurants are a chain and there are many around the bay area but I think this one is one of the best and the customer service is always exceptional! Inside tip....if you have little kids, ask them for the tofu soup for the children and they will bring a kid friendly portion of non spicy tofu soup with beef and a side of rice freeof charge!

A large variety of tasty Soondubu (tofu stews), served with a good selection of Banchan (complimentary appetizer dishes). There are the traditional flavors, like the kimchi stew, which I prefer over their more creative creations such as the curry one. Still, all pretty tasty.Their seafood pancake is worth getting, being quite large and filled with all sorts of good ingredients.The spot is quite popular, expect quite a wait during busy hours.

In A Nutshell:-I come here not only b/c the food is just spectacular, but its a place that reminds me of my grandma before she recently passed away. One of the last meals I had w/ her was here :)-Now on to the review. The location is lovely. Its right off the 280, even though the Saratoga exit can be a nightmare, its all worth the effort.-The go-to dish I order is the Al Jjigae (Fish Roe Stew) - its served in the truest essence of Korean soups/stews, in a piping hot bowl. After you crack the egg you get and mix it up a little, make sure you break apart the fish roe so the broth becomes thicker. Writing this now just makes my mouth-water. I wont write about it anymore, just come here and try it yourself.-Their other dishes are also so so good. I would recommend everything on the menu here.Overall, its definitely a small mom/pop restaurant and space is limited, but the owners work very hard to make you happy and you can eat all the banchan (side dishes) you want while you wait for your food. Just dont eat too much of it so you can save your appetite for the main course(s). COME HERE NOW.

True Tofu Soup! I dont normally give ratings but I decided to do it for this place. There are three tofu shops called Sogong dong in south bay area; but this place rocks to other places. Why? Im first generation Korean and their side dishes prooves that they make good foods. Tofu soups are way hotter than others and tastes better. Place is bit small is one cons, but overall this place beats even tofu soups in L.A.

We opted for the combination bbq dinner #1, which was $35 total for 2 people.Banchan was good, but the pork belly was at least 80% fat.Service was also disappointing. Our server started cooking the meat before the stove got hot, and then he left shortly after putting the meat on the grill. We thought hed come back to flip the meat, but he ended up just sitting down with his friends at another table, and we cooked our own food for the rest of the night.

Soft tofu is delicious..! I ordered seafood soft tofu and was surprised that it included 4 shrimp and a lot of clams. It was nice because there was a lot more seafood than the Bukchang-dong soft tofu I had in LA. If you need more side dishes, give them more and the staff greets you well and is friendly.
