Came here for a pre-wedding dinner for my sister and my goodness, it was such an amazing experience! The service was the absolute best and the food was delicious. Everything tasted so fresh! We brought a cake to cut and they were so accommodating and provided us with candles and plates as well. Definitely recommend!! My cousins and I will definitely come back!

This is place where you get best North Indian food, specially Sarso saag and Makki roti!! We tried thali and Amritsari kulcha as well which was super amazing! Saby is an amazing person here and serves really really well!! Come visit here for a real North Indian cuisine, typically home made feel!!

Among the best indian restaurant in Hayward. The ambience of the place is very good and the food is outstanding. The waiters are exceptionally polite and helped us make better choices. Really liked the chole bhature and dahi sev puri. Overall highly recommended if you stay in hayward.

The food was delicious! We got the Chicken Tikka masala, the lemon chicken, jeera rice, and butter Naan! The chicken Tikka masala felt super fresh, it had a hint of cilantro and the Naan was fluffy with bits of crunchy! So good! Will definitely be back!

Only open two months! We were unsure of this place but were amazed…. 😍 Our waiter Irawal was super nice and helpful. He kept making sure we were doing good and food was as expected. The food was not oily and was well seasoned and not salty at all. Best food in town. My picky husband was extremely impressed. This place is on our favorite list for when we are back in the area and will go out of our way to come back here ! The mango lassi is the best I have had. Not too sweet and they do not add color or syrup to hide the lack of mango added. You can see the love they put into the quality in their food.

I ordered food for pickup and we have a family member with nut allergies. The server checked two different times with the chef on our behalf to make extra sure that the food was prepared with our special instructions.The food was delicious and is probably one of the best in the area compared to others we have tried. Not overly greasy, but still has some butter in it. I would say it is good to treat yourself to this delicious food. I definitely appreciate the attention to detail and the courtesy.

Saw this by our home and curious since I love Indian food. Surprisingly this place is very nicely set up inside. Very friendly service, food didn’t take that long to come out. I must say one of the best Baigan Bharta I’ve ever had. Butter chicken was delicious, lamb curry very soft and well seasoned, so not forget to try their aalu naan best ever tried, garlic naan incredible. Overall great experience, we will definitely come back here and recommend this place to everyone.

This is the second time we have been here and the punjabi food is one of the best I have eaten in the entire Bay Area. This place is truly a gem. Their amritsari saag with mooli- methi ki roti is simply the best. They make their “khoya” in-house so the gajar halwa is out of this world.And the best part is their hospitality. We were served by Sabi both times and he is the sweetest man. Very caring and attentive and genuinely wants you to have a good meal.Do try this place out once if you have not!

Dont let the good reviews fool you! Portions are very small, paid 40$ for lamb biriani, butter chicken and 1 garlic naan, it wasnt even enough food for the 2 of us. None of the dishes come with naan or rice as a side! Naan is suppose to be thick and hearty, the one I got was really thin like a roti/paratha smh, butter chicken didnt have the taste of ghee and had a tomatoy flavor...fail. lastly asked the cashier to give us a side of mango pickle went home to find out 2-3 measly pieces of pickles inside the container, I wouldve paid extra if I knew they would take me as a fool and be stingy on the damn pickles, probably wont be back prices and portions doesnt not match imo.

The most authentic Punjabi food you can find in the Bay. The Amritsari Saag is to die for. The food seems to be prepared with a lot of love. The khoa and paneer are made fresh in the restaurant every day and you can taste the difference when you finish it with the Gaajar Halwa. Just a wonderful experience and we keep drawn to it back again after our every visit even from our home in South Bay!

This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in California! The food and service are both amazing.My family and I always get the Tandoori Paneer Tikka to start - charred perfectly in the tandoor and very tasty, served as a sizzler with yummy chutneys on the side. The Amritsari Saag and Makki di Roti or Makki Mouli Methi (corn flour with radish and fenugreek) Roti are absolutely delicious and will put a smile on your face. Unlike many other restaurants, they use actual sarso (mustard leaves) with a mix of spinach to make the Saag and it adds a unique spicy/savory flavor, which is rare to find and shows their care for detail. The Malai Kofta has a rich and robust sauce - the koftas themselves were a touch oversalted, but the sauce and rotis balanced that out, and I think it just added to the home-style nature of their cooking. If you have any room left after all that, the Tadka Dal and Jeera Rice are yummy as well. Dont forget to grab a Lassi (the plain sweet one is my personal favorite) even if its to-go at the end of your meal. They offer a large variety of desserts which do not disappoint if you are looking to end on a sweet note.I totally forgot to ask for the young mans name, but our server was very lively and seemed really happy to be serving. He always makes us feel super at-home and is very friendly.Shahi Darbar will be a great experience for those very familiar with North Indian flavors, and I highly recommend it for those looking for the best Indian food around town.

My absolute favorite restaurant when I am craving for North Indian food! Lots and lots of options to choose from. We ordered dahi puri and vada pav - both were super tasty।Tandoori Chicken,Fried Rice was best Ive tried,Must try!! Loved the Malai kofta and bhindi masala. We visited Shahi Darbar for the first time on Friday night on a whim and with a heavy craving for good quality Indian food. Wow - we were extremely delighted!! I am so sorry, I forgot to take pictures of my food...it was beautiful!We ordered the butter chicken, and it was perfectly balanced between the cream and tomato. The spice blend is aromatic and absolutely delicious.We also ordered the Tandoori chicken, which has a fun presentation when it comes out. Its on a cast iron dish that is hot and the chicken is screaming hot!! There is a great example video in the Google pics currently. The chicken had wonderful, deep flavor and was spiced perfectly. It was also excellent the next day as leftovers.We had to get two orders of garlic naan because we tore through the first batch in what felt like seconds hahaha. It was the freshest naan Ive ever eaten. I could tell the dough was made fresh and baked minutes before it was served to us. I would go back and order just naan and a drink, maybe a mango lassi, and be in absolute heaven.We are super excited to go back. I do love me some chicken, and lamb curry with rice. Many Indian restaurants kind of have either the same flavor or not much flavor or some unusual flavor that doesn’t taste good.However, this place exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious. I give it a 10 out of 10 the lamb curry was very flavorful. The lamb was nice and tender and juicy. There wasn’t too much of any seasoning. It was all well balanced, and same with the chicken curry it was well balanced, and it tasted so good.I’m a home cook, so I do cook many types of food in different ways so being able to taste different varieties of ways people cook is something enjoy doing. And this place sure got me by surprise. I hope that they do not change anything off their menu or ingredients the server staff, I don’t know his name but he was very informative, kind and polite. He explained to us after we asked how the cook prepares the ingredients, and he gave us a good rundown and which it was nice to hear and it sure shows that they are different from other Indian restaurants, the flavor is delicious. Every time I eat at a new Indian restaurant it keeps giving me more and more of a push to start my own little restaurant business and serve food for people to enjoy and taste the different types of Indian cooking methods that everyone has.Again, I highly recommend this place. I, too, had lunch with a friend on the 19th. There were so many things from which to choose, I will take time to study the menu before I return :-). I enjoy vegetarian and meat dishes, so I will have even more options. The main dish we had was a Lamb curry, but we also had Puri Bhaji, Samosa Chaat, and Garlic Naan. We both had leftovers to take home, so we were able to continue our enjoyment. The staff, and I believe one of the owners -or a manager, were very attentive and encouraged feedback; to me, that is very important as it shows that patrons are important and part of the road to success in a new restaurant. We ordered kadai paneer, jeera rice, butter paneer, mint chaas, and the curry chawal meal. Like most of the reviews, we actually loved our food. My boyfriend got the kadai paneer, super spicy, and it was the perfect amount of kick, sweetness, and spice-- there was also a generous amount of paneer. The butter naan was amazing, buttery crispy outside and soft inside, and the curry chawal was creamy, smooth, and delicious. The mint chaas was also really refreshing and felt good to have after eating all of our food.The 2 stars comes from the service we experienced. The server was very impatient and rude when talking to us, particularly my boyfriend. When my boyfriend asked a few questions about the menu options (because I was confusd and he also was curious about something else) the server seemed pretty upset and expected my boyfriend to understand what the food was supposed to be like because my boyfriend is Indian. The server literally told my boyfriend, Bro, no, you know its like this in India. When quite frankly, if someone is asking a question, they probably dont know everything about the restaurant, food, or maybe India as a whole. This interaction left my boyfriend feeling pretty bad because the server was also much nicer and understanding to the people seated behind us.Before we left, we also asked for a to gobox and the server came out multiple times then just went toward the back and didnt tell us anything. Since we already felt bad, we just left. However, its a shame because we loved our food. Yet, the service was just not it. I wouldnt come back here unless the service changed. Not sure if it was because this was in the evening since we came for dinner but the kind of treatment and ignorance we experienced was unacceptable.

An extra star just because there is now one more Indian restaurant in Hayward which really lacks indian restaurants. Having said that service was very distracted yesterday even though there were only two tables occupied. This can get frustrating real fast as it got for us. The service needs to be attentive and available and I hope they address this quickly especially for sit down situations.The chicken tikka masala had a refreshing taste. The goat curry was good and the tea had more cinnamon and less ginger cardamom (read Indian spices) than I would have likedOverall just happy to have a new place around in old Hayward!!

Wow! This place just opened right behind my house and I absolutely loved the food! I need to go back and try more things on the menu! Wow… food was delicious. Extremely I am impressed with quality and taste of the food. We ordered Aloo paratha and chicken wrap. House made tomato ketchup was served, I have never seen that being served in Bay Area. Also Seems they are paying attention to how the food is being packed for takeouts. Roti and paratha are packed in butter paper and then aluminum foil. I usually am concerned about takeouts as hot food gets packed in aluminum foil which makes it not healthy. Here they are taking are of these cosmetic steps. Please continue maintaining the same and higher standard . Finally a good place to eat in Hayward .
